When presenting the value that our profession offers, our discusion with potential partners should be transparent. Reminding them time is needed to become proficient in learning new skills.
  • Great post about Rebranding the network marketing profession, which i think is very important now in Singapore, where the industry has been tainted by few bad companies. Let us be the change first!

Thanks Eric for your the info.

    Let me spread the word.

It's great to go back and hear these messages again. It will take each one of us doing our part to re-brand this profession. Each one of us display integrity and ethical practices to offset the images of the people we come in contact. Thank you, Eric, for being one of the ones doing it right!
  • Anything worth doing, is worth doing it well (can't remember who said this).
Eric, you are an example of this saying. And it goes for our profession as well.

  • Re-branding is part of any business as it becomes more productive. The Network Marketing Industry is no exception. The question I would like to explore is: "Who has mis-branded network marketing?"

I see the misrepresentation of the NM Industry as a general cultural trend to discredit the free market efforts of people who are productive by those that are the true mouchers and theives.

One important step NM will have to make some day is the step into free market forms of wealth. I am so lucky that I have found a NM company team that is laying the ground work for the next NM transformation. Learn more at:

I really appreciate the fact that you have taken on rebranding the industry. It is a profession and I agree we (I) need to be proud of what it is that I do. Thanks Eric.

Beautiful location Eric! Once of my tope 20 places to visit before I die! You are correct that the change has to start with us! Individuals who will re-shape how we are doing business and teaching others how to be honest and proud of what we do for a living.
  • Erik
I`m doing "my duty" to my self and are commenting EVERY DAY, not just 5 days a week. Today I went all way back to the start. This was a nice Recap.
  • I have been turned off by Network Marketing in the past because those who tried to expose it to me always talked about how easy it was to make money and how great the compensation plan was, but they never really talked about the product. One presenter even went so far to explain that they did not care about the product and was only interested in recruiting.

So in my mind to rebrand the Network Marketing Profession is to talk first about product, not the opportunity.

I think if one is going to invest the time it takes to become a professional at this industry it needs to be treated as a profession. This is a wonderful point.

Great video! I actually have been misinformed about network marketing as well. This video has given me a whole new positive insight in regards to this industry! Thanks Eric!

Those are some great stats I can use. I had know idea there were a 120 billion dollars per year in sales, in 100 countries, and that 67 million people were active MLMers.
  • rodrigoalva
Great Video. Makes me realize the importance of knowledge about the industry and posture about my Company.
  • Marcela Shedden
I´m really glad you are one of the ones that has been succesfull in NM. I understand that your effort was directed to a group that have excelent results. To have more than 1% of the people making money, instead of being financing by themselves the millionaire distribution expenses that the owners of the nets have charged to the distributors. They are earning billions and using independent distributions to reduce to the minimun their distribution expenses. For most of the people, giving some cooked rice and a place to sleep on the floor every day, like chinese companies, would be more than the money they earn, because the education the groups offer, is very expensive to be covered by the money they earn as they learn how to be an entrepreneur. The education does not have another objective that have the people motivated, it is great, but motivation does not mean money earned. The cost of having a sales force is the same as the traditional way to distribute. Cannot be less. Salaries, expenses like transportation, office job, social security, etc, etc, continue existing. If you divide them between hundreds and thousands and thousands, it could be seen that they are much less than traditional, but no dissapear. Just the companies do not pay for them. Each one of the dreamers pays. And very happy and motivated to do it.
I think if you want to see a change in the NM, the companies need to give more to the distributors and stop to be exploding the desire for a better life. That I mean is, a new distributor would need more resources to have the business giving earnings. 30%, 50% or such and such, its not enough for products that are not selling in commercial quantities. OK, they are commercial quantities for the companies because of the ant selling of the distributors, but not for the ants. That is the key. If I make a product, me by myself, if I do not sell it at least three times the cost of materials, I would not be able to earn enough to cover the other costs and have some earnings. I know the companies earn thousands of thousands times the cost of the products. I know they can be more decent and stop saying they are promoting dreams, because that they are doing with most of the people is giving them less than we, the latinamericans say, "atolillo con el dedo". Can be they don´t want to have most of the people earning. Can be they just want to reduce the least they can their distribution costs. The distribution costs are like the sun: you cannot hide them with a finger. They are allways there. Its just a matter of who pay for them. They do not dissappear.
    Just think deeply.
  • Great MLM training Eric! You rock.

    Eric,

I first met you, if I recall correctly, in Columbus, OH in 2002 or 2003. As I was searching around for a marketing group for a product platform that has taken years to create, beta and prepare to launch, I found you again here. Very interesting that you see a need for change. I think that along with changing the network marketing image, network marketing has to change the world. It's a chicken and egg thing I admit, but can be accomplished. Even Columbus was turned down by his home country Portugal, as progressive as it was at the time, and found success in Spain. Queen Isabella saw a need for leadership and took the risk, and was rewarded. Plus, her country and people received the benefits. Anyway, I believe we have such a platform if you're interested in contacting me, because I don't think it makes sense to sit around waiting for someone else to do our work, and I could use some help.

Congratulations on this video, we all need to feel proud of being NetWork Marketers & work together to explain our busines to all. Thank you so much, Eric!
  • Dear Eric,

Thank you for your clarifying response. Glad you loved my comments!

I suppose, for me, the important thing to really emphasize in terms of income claims is the skill development and amount of time and energy high-earning people have invested, the fact of ongoing training and daily disciplines, the need to totally dispel the myth that network marketing is 'easy' and that 'anyone can do it'. This is admittedly a tricky distinction.

Yes, everyone wants and should learn from the Best of the Best. No question. I have been a personal development junkie for a lot longer than I've been in NWM, but since beginning with you in '95 have attended, listened to, read, bought and watched countless hours of material. Within NWM, my most important mentors have been you and Jeff Olson, Kim Klaver and Buck Reed.

I think Network Marketing is one of the best places a person can develop belief in themselves if their environment & associations don't already foster it. Sometimes that equates with earning significant income, sometimes it doesn't. Personally, I worked by butt off in TPN and Prepaid Legal and became wealthy in neither. Ditto with the company I am currently with. What I have learned, however, has been invaluable.

Some of the best books on NWM I've read and would recommend are 'If My Products' So Great, How Come I Can't Sell It?' by Kim Klaver, 'Do You Have a Plan B?' by Kim Klaver, and 'The Business School for People Who Like Helping People' by Robert Kiyosaki.

The 'Go Pro' mindset is an important invitation to people who have been dabbling, have a 'Get Rich Quick' mentality, are on the fence or in the closet about their business. In NWM, the continual education and exposure to personal development is in effect the certifying material, the act of becoming 'a product of the product'.

So happy to have you as my friend and partner!

    Looking forward,

    Suzanne Kronisch
  • A safe place for people to explore the possibilities - where marketing becomes a window into the infinite possibilities beyond. Where a quality product is only surpassed by the integrity of the people behind it. Change being the essential process for all existence, In truth, I look forward to the possibilities of offering a new vision of value and importance for the consumer. In this a new era will dawn.

Hi Eric. Great show. I'm catching up and am delighted with the results I see.

To answer your questions, I think that what is needed is integrity. We can talk about performance based earnings, value for value, but until integrity is not in place for most of us, the wrong type of people will continue to be included among our enrollees. First is on us; to act with integrity in everything with do. This, like Randy Gage says, will duplicate in each of our organizations until whoever is not in integrity will not want to be part of it, or will choose to transfrom him/herself and joins us.

By the way, I think that with the evolution of the entire human race, this is inevitable. The think to look for is to accelerate the process in the Network Marketing industry.

Thanks again for this great idea made into reality. I will never be able to repay all of you for the gift this is, but I now the Universe will.
  • mikedelaney
    Hi Eric,

I applaud you on the launch of your new show and completely agree with what you, Randy Gage and Ivan Sisco have undertaken.

I was just reading the recent post by Suzanne Kronisch and it made me think of a recent conversation I had with my 7 year old daughter who absolutely loves the singer/actress Miley Cyruss. She considers herself her biggest fan and loves to emulate her through singing and dancing.

I asked her if she thought she could become a professional singer and actress like Miley Cyruss and she said yes, that was her dream.

What is a dad supposed to do in this case? According to many parents and perhaps Suzanne is one of them, my 7 year old daughter may fall into the same category as the 95 % of kids who dream big but fall short. We all know that a very small percentage of people become famous actresses, singers, dancers etc.

This also brought me back to a recent conversation I had with a friend who used to coach young hockey players. He used to tell the ones who dreamed of becoming professional that it was an unrealistic goal because only a very small percentage of players turn pro. He suggested they set their goals on becoming a policeman or fireman and they could continue to play in their competitive hockey leagues.

Can you imagine growing up with this sort of negative reinforcement? How would a child ever have a chance if they were constantly told that only a very small percentage of people every make it big and they should therefore set their goals on something more realistic?

I"m no expert and I'm certainly not the best dad in the world but I see much greater value in fostering my daughter's belief in herself. I will encourage her to shoot for the stars and believe she can make it because it's that belief that will drive her to put in the necessary hours of hard work to become successful.

There is of course another side to this formula that I will also teach my daughter. We all need to continually examine the evidence we leave behind to make sure we are on the right path. If my daughter is working very hard and doing everything she can to make it but the her talent is just not there then yes, of course it's important to re-assess but to start of with a negative mindset is the kiss of death in my opinion.

The whole point of this analogy is to agree with what you're doing. We all need success stories to help us dream of becoming better. I would much rather watch a show with you and Randy Gage and listen to your success over watching a show put on by 95 % of the wannabees who never made it in network marketing. How could any of us be inspired by that? I think it's a big mistake to tell people that only a very small percentage of people ever make it. All that does is foster a negative, lack mentality that will drag down the entire profession. We need to elevate our game and encourage people to dream big, especially during these tough economic times. We can't start of by telling people that their chances of escaping the rat race are slim. We need more people like you to show us that it can be done and we need more people to dream big because just like my daughter, it's the belief, that will drive a person to put forth the necessary hours of work to turn their dreams into reality.

And as far as referring to Network Marketing as a profession, I agree with you on that as well. I graduated from Law School and became a professional police officer. Now that may sound very impressive and professional to some but I"m here to tell you that I am much more impressed with the people I have met through network marketing than I am with the people I've met in my "profession" over the last 14 years.

This is one of the problems Network Marketing faces. People who go to Law School, Medical School or join a profession like the Police, think they are entitled to respect because they have a few letters behind their name and many of them look down on Network Marketing.

I believe respect has to be earned. I don't care what education you have or what profession you're in, if you're an idiot, and I"ve met so many in my profession, you don't deserve respect.

If you're in Network Marketing on the other hand, and you're successful and you hold yourself with posture and integrity like you and Randy Gage do, then you have earned my respect and I will continue to elevate my game in an effort to achieve the same success that you have enjoyed.

Please keep up the good work,

    Thanks,
    Mike
  • Suzanne,

I love your comments! Let me offer a bit more in the way of clarification. On my income, yes it is an exception. However, it illustrates two important things:

    1. A person like myself with no college education and no "formal" certification or training was able to become a Network Marketing Professional with a Million dollar plus annual income.
    2. Unlike so many others who offer their ideas on how to become successful in Network Marketing, I've actually done it.

Now, do we need to embrace people who enjoy our profession at much lower levels of income? Sure. But I think everyone wants to know what the best of the best (and I'm not referring to myself now) do every day to achieve their success.

For example, on Monday, March 16th I will start a 5 day series with $40 million dollar earner Nathan Ricks. Will very many people earn as much as he has in his 20 years in the profession? No. But we can all learn from his experience and create a better business at whatever level we choose. Does that make sense?

On the "Go Pro" comments, I'm talking much more about a mindset than I am about certification. A person can decide to become a "Professional" at whatever they choose. A Professional athlete, a Professional writer, a Professional educator, a Network Marketing Professional. It's simply drawing the important distinction that if you go beyond the "Lottery Mentality" that lures so many people into Network Marketing and replace that with the willingness to learn Skills and treat this like a Profession, then the results will obviously be much better for everyone involved.

And, for the newly unemployed, I remain convinced that we are facing the biggest shift in our lifetimes and that Network Marketing, when done right, offers a better way than the traditional paths we've been brought up to embrace. I continue to believe, especially in this New Economy, that the safest place to be is inside the Network Marketing Profession.

I hope that helps to clarify and please feel free to challenge anything and everything I'm sending out.

    Your friend and partner,

    Eric Worre
  • Dear Eric,

I applaud you on the launch of your new 'show', have watched each training thus far, and plan to continue. They are excellent, as are you. Your enthusiasm clearly comes from deep within you.

As you know, I'm no stranger to NWM. You were among my first mentors when I jumped headfirst into The Peoples Network in 1995. Since then, I have gone on to work with a few other companies, and have far more good than bad things to say about the industry and my experiences within it, although the benefits I've derived over the years have been more in the realm of skill-acquisition (learning how to move along Robert Kiyosaki's cash-flow quadrant from an 'S' to a 'B') and community-building, than significant financial reward.

I have a comment about what I've seen on your new show and from the back of an elephant recently in Thailand. Even though I understand that the NWM model has no economic ceiling, I think it's safe to say that your financial story is one of the rare exceptions. I don't think that it adds to your new message of transparency, integrity, honesty, being the change, etc., to state that you make over a million dollars a year. I don't think it's necessary, nor appropriate, now, to be selling that dream, even though in your case it happens to be true.

I LOVE that you have the freedom to go on elephant safari because of this profession, and the ability to stream a daily training show, and I am grateful and inspired for the leadership and modeling you provide. The truth is, however, that the great majority of people in NWM will not ever make a million dollars a year, NOR DO THEY NEED TO in order to find the industry worthy of their time and efforts.

The absurd income claims that have been part and parcel to the industry, and have destroyed the credibility of many people who have dared to get themselves and the people they know involved, has to be re-evaluated, especially when its' been shown that the great majority of people in the business are women who work part-time and make a few hundred dollars a month, 'extra' money which is essential to their family, to their sense of independence, etc.

Regarding your invitation that people 'go pro', I wonder how you see NWM, and its' current re-branding as capable of calling itself a profession. Part of what defines a profession (such as law or medicine) is its' code of conduct, its' certification examination upon completion of rigorous, lengthy training, and the requirement of continuing education. These criteria go well beyond the necessary pride, confidence and 'posture' that you suggest, and imply more than simply taking oneself seriously in their career.

I hope you take these somewhat challenging comments and questions in the spirit in which they are offered. I would like nothing more than to see the image of the industry lifted to its' highest heights. In order for that to realistically happen, it can't just be more hype to get the newly unemployed in, to capitalize on the opportunity made by those who've been chewed up and spit out by the 'safe secure job with benefits' system they've believed in, those people who are currently on their knees, and many, not only 'open', but extremely vulnerable.

All the very best, to you, and to us all... for we are truly all in this together.

    Suzanne Kronisch

It's thrue Eric that when I saw your video in Instanbul , you told us to be honnest with people.

Well what I've learned by that ,is to explain to people the opportunity they have to win a good way of living but I tell them that they don't have to think it will be in the first months, but that they have to see it in a larger way and that they can achieve this in a year or two or either three years.

I saw the people change in there reaction against Networkmarketing.(positively)

Now you explained it in this video and it helpt me to know that I'm explained in the correct way to people.

    Thx,

    david Belgium

    Eric,

I know what a great communicator you are, and I'm looking forward to following, participating and supporting your efforts. I really place great value on your approach as a professional and the advocate of the industry, sans politics and predictions of financial Armageddon.

You've said it before, as have other leaders: this business isn't about convincing or scaring people. It's about developing our acumen in identifying potential leaders, potential customers and helping them get to their decision point. It's about cultivating a skillset that enables us to educate and enroll.

Ultimately, it's about making a difference.

Thanks for your continuing efforts to improve the industry and its image.
  • Eric, you are spot-on. What's so obvious to us is what we need to educate the world about -- network marketing is simply affiliate marketing...on steroids, as the copywriters like to say. What's not to like about getting paid on the efforts of many, many people?

The problem is partly the history, the crazy claims, buying lleads,l cold calling with lame scripts, exaggerations & hype. That is no way to be a professional.

I think 'professional' and 'integrity' and 'value' can be the only true way to go. We'll never be rid of the hypesters in this business, because unfortunately there will always be a market of people willing to 'buy a dream.'

But the internet really gives professional network marketers a whole new playing field, and I for one am excited to help them explore and plug in. My little tagline is Attract, Connect, and Prosper. It's all about providing valuable information without hype, being a solutions provider, serving your market, building relationships, and mutual benefit. That goes no matter what companies we choose to represent.

I will look forward to being part of your community here. Thanks for this, it's so needed.

    Hi Eric

I totally agree with everything you've said. I have been counting my blessings that I have built a network marketing business over the years. Many people told me I was crazy for giving up a JOB with "benefits".... yet those same people today are the ones crying cause they were "let go" and their beneifts went out of the window.

The hardest thing for me, was getting over the "job mentality", where I had been raised to work for someone else. Things have changed and that is no longer true. Jobs are not what they used to be. For those that don't have hundreds of thousands of $$$ to try to start a business, network marketing gives them an option to build a future without mortgaging the kids.

I'm so glad to see you do this educational series on the industry. I've seen others do much the same thing but then charge "fees" to get that information out. You're truly a blessing to our industry. Thanks for all you do.

    Diane "MLMBlonde"
  • Hey Eric,

Great video, and what you're saying is so true!

In my opinion, one area that I've found that raises a few eyebrows and gives us a tainted image, is some network marketers lead with the compensation plan or business opportunity with a marginal product. Now in some instances, that may be the way to go, but if more network marketers would ask themselves this question first, "would I use or promote this product if they didn't pay me?"

I've only been in two MLM companies, and when I asked myself that question...I had to let one go!

    Keep up the great work!

    Robert

Eric, Again Thank You. I know what I must do to help others learn the skill of Network Marketing. I will be the student teaching the students.
    Thank You

  • I love your idea of being the change. I am new to Network Marketing and joined a wonderful company four months ago. I have come into a whole community of mutual wealth building with the most incredible support imaginable. I think most people think that they will have to violate their core values by being a network marketer. The opposite is actually true. When you find the right company, you actually align with the highest values of helping others to succeed and change their lives for the better. Most people have suffered the loss of their dreams by the time they are my age. Network marketing gives all of us a great opportunity, not just to build new streams of income and buy more things, but to build a loving and positive community and with caring connection that I now experience as I build my business and support others to do the same. As humans, this is truly what we long for.
  • Hey, I am just saying that before we can even present various opportunities
or even the services and products we have to offer we have to first change
the image the average person has in their head of network marketing. If "us"
being the marketing/sales force could simply have a backbone and composure
when he do our sit downs or in house presentations that is going to be the first
    building block in my opinion.
  • Another great video Eric, I look forward to the next one on Mornday.
  • Dee Pauletig
Good Morning and Thank you Eric!
I have always believed what you are saying about rebranding and how it must be done. We MUST...to a person...STOP all the crazy claims and present educated, accurate information about our products and our compensation. My motto has always been, "The truth is good enough!" What we have IS the best way...and THAT is the truth. NWM has produced some truly AMAZING product lines...THAT is the truth!! When WE truly believe in that truth...the world will flock to out doorways!

    Let's tell the world!!

Hi, Eric! Thank you for this fantastic tool! Do you know how I use this? I listen to it first thing in the morning when I wake up so that it helps me set my mood and attitude for the day! This is like a vitamin for my spirit because sometimes I wake up feeling down about where I am but when I watch these videos (I'm a very visual person), it helps me to see and hear something that is positive, uplifting and inspiring and gives me a sense of direction for that day.

    Thank you,
    Cynthia
  • Thanks Eric for the eye opener. We do have to make this a new beginning and cross the waters to reach everywhere and brand ourselves as marketers and enjoy what we are doing.
  • Noel Annert
    Excellent work,Eric.

  • Hi Eric,

This is truely an amazing time and defining moment, and Yes, what you´re doing, what you are sharing is nothing but outstanding and I urge everyone in our entire team to get this daily inspiration, education and to reinforce the belief about our industry in a ongoing process. Furthermore, and this is very powerful, we use it to train and educate the ones we are in a process with as well, and this, for many, might be a secret with souch much power. It shows to us, how powerful 3rd. part validation really is in action. Thanks Eric - I look forward to see what´s next, and to share and comment. Your friend and partner, Torben Pedersen
  • Hi Eric! I'm here in Melbourne, Australia and working to get my business off the ground! I have purchased recently a whole bunch of literature which is aimed at educating people on what MLMing is and how it works. The idea of this information is to bring MLM more into the open for discussion.

There are also articles on the net which are quite condemning of MLM's and of course everyone has access to both.

I'm happy to be following what you suggest because I want to be successful in what I do and help other people find the success that their searching for too!

    Regards

  • Its 10 to 11 PM and I'm sorry for getting here late.....I have a thought....but....to change the minds of people who are so conditioned to "go to school & get a job" is tough. But one thing comes to mind.....here in Canada we are of a "skeptical" type.....that being said...I feel we can "turn" the skeptics into "free thinkers" in regards to network marketing......I feel it starts with education and Eric has provided that with this forum.....I am looking forward to this challenge....changing peoples views on network marketing one "pro" at a time.
  • Leonardo Parra
Amazing, with a few minutes every day of efective training for sure we will change our lifes ando of course the Industry. Great idea, thank you for share with us.

Thank you Eric for the inspiration!
makes me very proud to be a part of the NM comunity,
more and more i see it as abeautiful place for people not only to connect but to express
themselfs, to grow as human beings..

  • Great setting to talk about "blazing a new path"! Eric, the profession changes when we change our minds about how we are seen and see ourselves on a daily basis. When we do 1on1's and home meetings in a suit and tie, people straighten up and take us seriously. Any other professional would right?
The masses don't take us seriously because we tell them how "fun" it is all the time and that is just not the honest truth. This is sales, except we just get paid DIFFERENTLY! When we recruit from the truth and from the heart, we recruit the right people from the start!

    Ellis
  • Love your message Eric!
Interesting to hear some Andean musicians playing, probably busking, in the background. Its amazing -these Andean musicians are like subtle irrepresable revolutionaries. You find little bands all over the world, descendants of the Inca people who were so violently invaded and crushed by the Spanish conquistadors in the 1500's. Have you ever been to Cuzco in Peru?...There's a bronze plaque in the city centre which says that even though they were so brutally devastated and almost destroyed so many centuries ago , NOTHING will ever really destroy their powerful spirit, their culture, their belief in themselves, their energy, their message and they will continue spreading their story through music and song all over the planet. And so they do it, keeping on, quietly and simply, with an adventurous and fun spirit, heaps of energy, clever street nouse and business sense, in every corner of the world. And they have fun making money!!

Personal change and mindset will set the future of this industry. And i believe you have made it a bit easier with a daily show to remind us. Thank you!

The world is changing...every minute, every day. WE are the change that saves lives, restores confidence, and builds bridges to a way out.
You are a PRO Eric, and we are blessed to be on this journey of reshaping our profession with you.
    Let's redefine.....reinvent ourselves......and together make history!
  • Eric...keep it coming...great educational tools...Thank You
  • Once again...you have nailed it!

The one thing that i put emphaisis on when someone looks at my companies opportunity, is DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE, i will not encourage someone to join without exploring it properly and what this industry has to offer them, if they do it correctly they wouldn't look left and right at other opportunitites!

I make sure that they see it for what it really is and that way they can not walk away and defame this industry, they only question themselves and their own capabilities.

If more people follow the correct behaviour, we will of course take this industry to an extreme level!

Extremely, excited about my decsion to become a NM Pro!
  • Chris B (Canada)
Great Message Eric, and you're right! The "old" perceptions and "hear-say" that has evolved over the years are still in the fore front of peoples minds. In my brief experience, I have received this type of feedback and its always followed by, "I don't mean to be negative, I'm just looking out for you." (And there it is) They truely believe they are helping. Our beliefs and confidence in ourselves is important but our Posture, I believe is the best and hardest thing to develop. Through education, reading, Personal Development, and sites like this one building and strengthening our posture is enevitable, thank you for the reminder! You've hit another home run.

    All the best!
  • Simon_and_Lia_NL
haha, when I read it again it does not look thát positivo. But it was meant pro! and NM really is my (our) cup-of-tea!
Have a suc6full weekend all of you!

    Hi Eric,
great show, and I am sure it is good to start with a clean leash.
However, just when we think we are doing things the right way, a few levels later, -or earlier- someone else can break what we carefully have built. Training the right way is most imortant, but we have little influence on people. Is there a way to 'preserv' the serious ones? the upright people? Or should we row against the current until we have strong arms and strong backs to stand against the world and reach the beautifull white coasts.
I am a 'positivo', and a true believer, but also see/saw lot of things happening in our world.
And on this discussion platform, I hope I am allowed to express my thoughts.

thanks for motivating! We think you are doing great and you are an example to all of us!
    have a nice day.

  • Dear Eric,
I don't know if this is appropriate, but I would like to give some help to Hugo on his question.
If it isn't I am sorry and I promnise not to do it again. Hugo, first of all, congratulations for having decided to use this quorum to try to learn the Network Marketing profession. In fact 90% of what I know is because of Eric Worre, Randy Gage and Randy Schroeder.
Eric If I write something wrong, please don't hesitate to correct me ;). (But please, do it gently...)
In order for you to keep a living contact list, Hugo, all you need to do is to pay attention to live.
Let me explain: Whenever yoiu meet new people, if they affect you in a positive manner, just let them know and when you feel appropriate ask for their contacts and give them yours.
Join a health club, go to where bright people usually hang out (like book stores, good restaurants, etc...) try to know people from your community (if you are a doctor, think of the brightest doctors you know) go outside of your community (if you are african try to get to know some caucasians, if you have a hobby try to get to know people with that same hobby even if they do not belong to your regular close relationships).

So, in conclusion, use your eyes and your heart to find new people that you feel comfortable with and those will be your new contacts. :)))

I am sorry Hugo but I just realized I have an appointment with a prospect in 15 minutes so I have to rush.

    Hope this helped.

Eric, so true. I’m new to this incredible profession and up until now have always danced around what it is that I do when I talk with people because so many people do have a bad perception. But dancing around it only makes it worse, not only for the person you’re talking to but also within yourself because it completely reduces the confidence you have in yourself.

From now on when I talk with people, I’m not going to hold anything back. My posture will now be Yes, absolutely, this is Network Marketing. I will now see myself as a Professional Network Marketer.

It does need to start with us!

    Thank you - Dave
  • Eric, Well said! Treating my business with great professionalism is the way to show others that this industry has a strong future. It is time and we have an answer to this Economic storm that is in our mist. It's not and overnight magic bullet and we each have responsibility to show the best of our industry. Thanks

It seems you are doing with NetWork Marketing Profession what Al Gore is doing with Global Warming,Martin Luther King Jr. with Civil Rights and others, I want to be part of your project by Educating myself and becoming a example for the others
    Thank You

    Eric -
Agreee with you 110%. I promise to be part of that change.
  • Great movie again today Eric. I've only been in this industry since Oct 2008, but in that time I have acted like I was cramming 4 years of college into the last 5 months, and have learned massively in that time.

I think something that really needs to be addressed in this industry that will help it's image is to not look at people as numbers. Some of the big hitters teach to "just shove 'em in there" & "this is a numbers game" etc...but the people I am dealing with are real people with families, lives, hopes and dreams.

I do not want to "close" someone into being in my business, most of those people drop out after a few months anyways, cause they didn't want it to begin with. I understand the method of teaching an army of followers to close em in, shove em in, but that is only helping the big hitter on top, and leaves those of us who are new to this industry all on our own to figure out how to ethically and morally build a sustainable business.

I for one have the intention of ifinding people who really want to run their own business and teaching them how to do it, and learning together. This business is about people, mentorship, team work, training, having fun, learning, and growing. It's not about just putting in numbers.

So, in one sentence, what we can do to change the image of this industry:

We can be more discerning about who we recruit into our organizations, and find the people who truly want to change their lives, and put our time and energy into them.

    Peace

I couldn't agree more Eric. The negative stigma attached to Network Marketing/MLM must be removed. And you're right, it will take US, through honesty and professionalism, to make that happen. Thanks for all you do!
  • Hi Eric, you are right - we need to reframe others thoughts about Network Marketing. When I tell someone about our company, the first thing I hear from everyone is pyramid scheme, ponzi scheme, etc.
    Thanks for the video!

Hi Eric, thanks for sharing this expierence with us. This daily show has made me see things through different eyes
  • Pat Hursey
Thanks for video and it's great to hear someone speak positive about this profession that I love. It has gave me 17 years of freedom so far and has opened up possibilities that were not available through previous occupation that I was in. It is true we need to come out of closet and let people know we have a great product, a new way of distribution of that product and a profession that people can do part time around their full time occupations and eventually be able to be full time with a life of freedom.

    Pat Hursey
  • So true, so encouraging. we do that business in the TAO way or not at all - honesty, purity, effortlessly, together.
Thank you Eric for the inspiration.

We've decided to go Pro some days earlier to your visit in Lisbon, but I was REALLY sure about the decision after meeting you personally, AND after hearing the phrase: - "Allow yourself to think big".

We're doing our share on delivering the right message every day.

Mr Worre, your hitting a HOME run.... Looking Great!

Thank you so much, the content you are training is what I have said for ages..

    Keep it coming mate!
  • What I see Eric is that throughout the evolution of network marketing, it began with people not participating because they had "job security" and that made most people happy. They were living the lives we were 'programed' to live. The picture created in our heads since the day we were born.

The world is so much different today because of technology. The door to door business building techniques from the past are gone. I would say people under 45 are very open to network marketing. The younger generations though, still seek advice from their parents or adult mentors who have 'negative' feelings on network marketing because of the reasons you spoke of. Therefore, they 'talk the person out of it' without taking into consideration how things have changed.

EVERY business today is structured better and operates more effieciently because of technology. Just like we do not run businesses/corporations with receipt books, rotary phones and snail mail - the profession of network marketing has evolved as well. It is NOT the same. Jump on the computer and the world is at your fingertips. That is what we need people to see - that with experience and technology, our business is no different than corporate america - we have evolved too. And hands down, residual income is better than the 'security of a paycheck', when in reality, the company could close its doors tomorrow and you won't have a paycheck on Friday.

Hope that makes sense - we are trying to break through what people have been programmed to think is 'normal or standard' in creating an income.

    Teresa
  • we will be the change! another great one
  • Eric - Great venue and even better content in this video. The time for network marketing is now more than ever due to the condition of our economy, corporate raiding of pension and the need for people to take back control of their financial future. We are beginning to see "positive stories" about network marketing in the mainstream media and we as professionals need to step into the opportunity. I agree with you the three core areas; the change can start with us - others will see our example. There are a variety of great resources available to sharpen our swords and evolve out skill sets - others will see us as professionals. When we embrace the call to be professionals sounded by Randy Gage, Art Jonak, Carlos Aponte, Jr., yourself and dozens of other leaders we can approach the marketplace with non-apologetic strength and confidence.

Thank you for your leadership and your commitment to these daily lessons.

I have just watched all three video's these are great training tools. Thank you for taking your time to making NWM more of a professional busness that it is. I have just got back into the business again. Thank you for your training tapes they have inspired me to get started again. thank you again.
  • Tony Scarcia
Thank you Eric. I understand your reply and wholeheartedly agree that your intent is to help everyone learn the skills to become a Network Marketing Professional. I just got that this is about leadership.
My question in reply however is that if one is to build an organization attempting to convince the skeptics then how successful would that effort be? Therein lies the contradiction to your 'are you in or are you out' philosophy.
  • Eric, I think when people really create value in what they are doing, then, the business becomes professional and successful. My concept of network marketing is based on very trustworthy relationships, but often I have found in the past people forget that and try to either start selling whatever or looking at you as if you were dollars or yens. We are providing a service in healthcare, wellness, personal care, and gelceuticals and not just into selling products and that is it! Whatever relationship we begin as we sponsor friends, family, associates, and many people from different walks of life, we have to make sure it is full of integrity, dignity, care, joy, and compassion/love. Without these value added emotions and rapport, nobody grows, including oneself and everybody else! Unless we can tell a story why we started in a very honest way, we cannot reach to that professional level that I always discuss in my 5 P's, passion, purpose, patience/perseverance, professionalism, and peak performance/presence in the NOW. I really believe network marketing is a profession that is going to be the 21st business model as we move into social media and the amazing ways of communicating through the Internet which makes us without boundaries as in the past. I am grateful that we have a mentor like you, Eric!
  • Hey Tony,

I don't think it's contradictory. It's true that the stigma exists and believe me, every prospect in the world feels it on some level.

It's also true that most of the damage has been self-inflicted due to misleading approaches, crazy claims and unreasonable expectations. Facing that and calling for change doesn't conflict with my overall intent, which is to help everyone learn the skills to become a Network Marketing Professional.

In addition, I think prospects to the profession will appreciate the candor.

    Hope that helps!

    Eric
  • Tony Scarcia
Don't worry, just got it. Thanks Eric.
  • Tony Scarcia
Eric, I had to play your installment called 'Re-branding the Network Marketing Profession' a few times over before making a comment as your intention isn't clear.
Is talking about a 'stigma' actually fueling it? Is talking about skepticism giving rise to it?
Your 'are you in or are you out' philosophy in your network marketing trainings tends to be contradictory to your current installment.
I understand if your content is designed to subdue those who use certain advertising tactics to manipulate people into buying into the emotive perceived gains of the negative, however I gather that most people who are watching this show, and more importantly those who will use your incredible resource to promote the profession probably don't need their prospects to hear the words skepticism, stigma etc.
I understand that we need to be transparent however if that is your intention then maybe you could employ a different methodology.
    Am I missing something here?
    Anticipating your reply.
  • Being Proud and Going Pro!
    Thanks Eric.

Everyday I learn bits and pieces from guys like you, Eric! The three points are important to change the opinion of the average man or woman. We HAVE to act wise and careful, then people's opinion will change.
  • Stella Webber The Netherlands
Great, the comparison of the Portugese adventurers and the NWM Pro's! Although I do think our path is a little more safe, easier and nowadays there are already very succesfull people in this profession, which we can duplicate and learn from! So our path isn't that adventurous, but still we have to learn a lot.
    Thanks Eric, for these thoughts.
  • Hey Eric,

Incredible content again. I will be working hard to deliver on the 3 points here in the UK

    Warm Regards
