One of my defining moments was when I got to have a dinner with one of the top leaders in our company. I will never forget that. I saw someone that I would want to become. He's not just good in network marketing, but a great person, full of passion, always willing to help people. He is my mentor now...
  • Manuel

I`m not sure yet but think that I took part of the" Have Your Best Year Ever Webinar " could be on of those moments :)

    Hi.
I knew about network marketing when i was 17. I was excited when I heard about the duplication. But I fail in my first network marketing company because I didn't know you yet that time and I choose the wrong company. Then I was introduced to another company by my dad, which I was in now. I have strong confidence on it because I know how to choose the right company from my past experience.
So, I started in this business part time when I studied in university. Before I graduated, I find myself came to a cross road. I was thinking should I go full time in network marketing or find a job and do it as a part timer first. In my country, very few people will go full time in network marketing directly after they graduated because they think it is a waste of the knowledge that we learn in university. Then, here comes my defining moment. One of my senior who involve in sales industry, but not network marketing, knew i was struggling, so he asked me out for a cup of tea one day. And here were our conversation that day.

He asked me: Do you have solid customer base?
I said: Customer base, yes but not quite solid.
He: Do you have confident to make it solid enough for you to survive?
    I: Yes, of course.
He: Do you have faith in network marketing, your products, your organization and everything in your company?
    I: Yes.
He kept asking: Can you see your future here?
I: Yes, definitely. Or I won't be here as a part timer when I was studying.
He: Then why are you struggling?

This question just like a nuclear bomb bombing on my head. I was thinking, 'hey, why am I still struggling on this question? I have had an answer.' Yes, I did have a very clear direction at that point, it is just I didn't realize it. I have so much passion in network marketing, I love network marketing, I have faith in my company, and I did have skills that enough for me to survive in network marketing also. So, I decided to go full time since that day until now.
I have been a full timer for more than 3 years now. I have built up a very solid organization that able to support me to have a better life than my peers. I take charge of my own life, I have flexible time of working, I earn free trips to Shanghai and Switzerland within this 3 years. I have more time to be together with my family and my girlfriend. All these things are very wonderful.
I thank my senior very much, I still feel gratitude to him. He is neither my up line nor down line, nor a customer, but I really thank him a lot for asking me that last question. So, this is my first and the most important defining moment in network marketing.
Last but not least, Eric, I would like to thank you for all the video clip that you have made. I really learn a lot from you. I totally agree with you that we must go pro in network marketing, and I am teaching my organization to turn into professional like what you have said at the end of every clip too. You are a good leader, and you are one of my mentor in this business.
    Thank you very much.
  • Almost 20 years ago I was a leader in direct selling company for 10 years. I have joined MLM recently and learning a lot of new things. MLM is so different from direct selling and the time has changed a lot of things.
I am sure of one thing - I will always remember your videos as I learned a lot from them and they have changed my approach and understanding of our business ( yours and mine). This is for sure going to be one of my "Defining Moments" that will last as long as you will be with us.
    Thank you, Eric !

    Hi Eric,
First and foremost, Thank you so much for being the wonderful Ambassador of Network Marketing that you are. You truly define what it is to be a professional and certainly encourage me as well as many others to be proud of this amazing profession. I have several defining moments and I know that it is the beginning of many. But, I will share two.
The first one was when I attended our National Conference and was able to really understand the impact of this industry and our company. I was completely "BLOWN AWAY" of not only, the company and the amazing training, recognition and motivation that was received. But, I fell in LOVE for the first time, our company's spirit and the people who make that spirit come alive. There have been many stories and backgrounds that have been shared for those 3 amazing days, and it's very difficult to point out which one stood out to me the most. But, in the end...I realized one thing. That no matter where people come from, the many backgrounds and stories that affect their lives and WHY they are doing this business. One thing is clear....they all know where their heading. That night was a defining moment, because prior to the National Conference, I had a paint brush and a canvas and I thought that was all I needed. But, afterwards...they took the brush I had in my hand and the white canvas I was looking at for months and a beautiful picture was painted and I finally saw the canvas for what it really is....a FUTURE!

The second one, was when I made a goal to sit and talk to my National Vice President...and naturally, you need go through the chain to reach her. But, I decided to ignore all that and I was able to sit with her for 5 minutes only and asked her.."What it took her to get to where she was at?" Now realize during this time...I am going through some major challenges with this business and personal situations as well, but I knew that quitting was definitely not an option for me. All she said was, "You have to DECIDE and stick with it! You have absolutely no excuse for not doing this business." She certainly kicked me in the pants...but I knew what she was getting at. She compared me with people who are doing this business who really are physically challenged, but managed to go through the storm and make it. What excuse do I have?....NONE. So I went to work. Today, I am still passing through the storm, but her words made me realize that there is nothing in this world to stop me, but the LORD himself. I realized that I have to give the LORD His glory and be the BEST that he made me to be everyday and that this business is HIS gift to me. I am grateful to Him, my husband , family, to my upline and to all the people I come across everyday. And I thank you Eric for being such an amazing leader!
    Thank you!!

I have been in nwm since 2001 and my newest defining moment is finding this website and listening to you interview Mark Yarnell and saying you need about ten thousand hours hearing that for me was so great beacause it let me know that i have work to do but that i to can make it by putting in the work and going pro thanks eric for this site and what you do miss you at ppl.
  • sethroach
    Eric,
I am saying this with out trying to flatter at all but honestly through your videos I have gained a respect and love for this profession. I have gained an understanding that I didn't have before and it has totally reshaped my thinking and attitude and approach. Everyday I watch more of these videos and go onto some of the sites of those whom you have interviewed my defining moment is becoming more defined. I now have the attitude that "I CAN DO THIS and I will do this" I will not give up because I am now a believer in this profession. Thanks for all you do.
  • Gavin
Thanks again Eric for the Value you are giving.
I have been in MLM for a few months and
recently i spent a couple of hours with the top distributor in the Company,a guy with 30,000
in his down-line.I am not sure that this is a defining moment (perhaps more a d.moment in progress).
How-ever,i was moved that he freely shared his time and energy with me.More importantly,he showed
more belief in me than i had with myself.During that time he talked about me as an "emerging leader".
So,i am learning about NWM all the time.
    Thanks very much Eric.
  • What a great story Eric. It was the right thing at the right time...exactly what I needed to hear. I have been in Network Marketing for about 4 months...feeling my way through. Your website and all the videos have been so helpful. I am writing down almost everything you say. One reason is for me. The other reason is for my downline...I want to understand so I can teach, help, be intuitive to what they are going through, and hope to gain some experience so I can be in the right place, with the right words to help someone else. Thank you for this fabulous website and for your awesome attitude and assistance!!! Keep it coming!!

At 55, I have been involved with network marketing on and off since I joined Amway in the late 1970... and quit.
I joined several companies over the years and quit. I joined the one I am in now, and because I have MS decided that the MonSter was not going to win. Now with limited options in the corporate world, I was going to hang in there. This was okay, but my intrests are in training and I was not able to figure out where to go to get enough training with the company to make a strong team. Last week I found you, this week I have watched a bunch of episodes that you have put together and it is making sense to me. My "Defining Moment" came a bit ago when I was listening to "say goodbye to your upline". When I realized that most of my upline probably has no training on where to go from here either. I have found what I want to help get done. Thanks
  • mikesas
    Eric,

I have been in network marketing for a little over 2 years now. I am now 26 and my original goal before I even heard of or discovered network marketing was to be retired at the age of 40, however since I was introduced to NM, my new goal is 30.

One of my defining moments was today, June 16, 2009 at 7:15am when my supervisor at work told me that my 1/2 day vacation was declined for June 19, 2009 due to too many co-workers having the same day off.

I have a training to give down in Maryland for my business and it is a 3.5 hour drive without traffic and weather. My shift ends at 3:30 pm. It is supposed to rain Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so with the weather being bad and being there are 5 guys off already, there is a good chance that I can get forced to stay to work, or the possibility of getting stuck with the pager due to standby due to guys calling in sick the last minute or taking emergency vacation days. I don't like to screw the next guy so I am not going to do that to somebody else.

My defining moment: realizing that a 40 hour a week J.O.B. (Just Over Broke) still affected my personal life outside of work where I have plans and other strategies in mind to get out of that slave race... this is motivating me to take that 40 hour J.O.B. to be my 40 hours of time well spent on myself to do as I would like and work with people that are more successful than I am.
  • Stay the course and work hard at your business, Mike. At some point, hopefully sooner rather than later, you won't need to 'request' a day off from 'the warden'. You'll be able to give yourself one at will...

    Best to you,
    Scott

Defining moments, leading up to the point where I knew I could not fail and beyond.
    1) a collegue brought me to a business presenation, I did'nt sign up cause I dod'nt like the product, but that startet my search for the right company for me.
    2) My friend Orjan Saele, showed me the life I could get, and introduced me to other hwo was making it BIG (the MLM cruise 2009)
    3) Had Dinner with Randy Gage, Art Jonak and Orjan Saele and realised this is the way i want to live the rest of my life
    4) Ken Dunn asked to mentor me, with the words " In six months you will beat the founder of your companys check"

So in a way every defining moment has been every time I stepped closer to the decision to be a network marketing professional.

Keep it up Eric, your changing the industry!

    Best regards

    Tim

One defining moment for me was back in the 80's when I was first getting started and an "upline" came to the house to meet with us - after we had signed up - and sat with us and talked about our dreams. I was busy raising my 2 young daughters, and working night shift and really wasn't thinking about 'dreams' or what my future would look like. HE got me started and I realized in a very short time, but after some hard work , that Network Marketing does work, and that I do have control in what my future looks like. This powerful couple not only was an inspiration to me but impacted my life in so many ways. He died in a car accident coming home from sharing the business opportunity - and the turn out for his funeral was something I had never seen. HE left me with a quote which I have never forgotten.
" I will do today what others will not do , so that I can have tomorrow what others will not have" ! That was one of my defining moments in Network Marketing.
Again Eric - thanks for all you do !

    Hi Eric, hi everybody,
It's been great reading about some of your defining moments.

For me is quite too early _7 months in this industry_, but I have 2 that I would like to share with you:

    1. An event in Mexico, City 2 months ago. I was also very negative and judgmental about NTM. But being in this great event, sensing the atmosphere, the people that are involved in it. Learning, as Eric said, that everything that I need is in me. And seeing that this is a Real possibility of growing in so many directions, changed my perspective and my whole attitude.
    2. I have learned so many things about myself that I wasn't aware of. And this is thanks to NTM. Other wise I would have missed them. And what a pity that would have been.

Thank you all for sharing. This is terrific space that you have created Eric.
    Thanks again.

  • I have 3 major defining moments:

1). In January 1995 as an employee of Herbalife, I attended my first international event in Atlanta, Georgia. In Japan, Herbalife was still a start-up so I thought it may go bust in 3 years. My eyes opened up to Network Marketing and how great the industry was when I saw 32,000 people fill the Georgia Dome. International flags were waving and everyone seemed so excited. I realized that the industry was bigger than I ever imagined and that millions of lives changed for the good because of the industry. I was hooked!

2). In February 2007, now a few months as a distributor, I experienced my income more than double just in one month! This came at a time when the company I was working for couldn't pay my salary. I was doing the business part-time but it shifted my paradigm - there is no other business I know that will double your income with your efforts in just 30 days! It opened my eyes to the potential of the industry.

    and

3). This month in April 2009, I came home from a leadership seminar in San Diego, and something in me changed. This is how "making a decision" feels because I feel different. I was always hiding in back of my husband who is a brilliant speaker and trainer with 13 years experience in the industry. I made a decision to break that mold and step up to be a leader in the industry too. No longer am I on the sidelines - I am walking together with him now. I think this is the first time I sincerely have posture and can say with confidence that I am a Network Marketing Professional. An unbelievable feeling.

I sincerely thank you, Eric and Randy.
  • My defining moment is simple. It was realizing that MLM is the only place where an income can be unlimited! There is no other company or job that can create an income with as little work. Not saying that it isn't work, because it is alot of work. But later after the work is done the money still comes in!
  • Stella Webber The Netherlands
When my sponsor (who knew me just a little bit) told me she was certain I could make it in NWM, because of my enthusiastic and outgoing character and because of my persistence. When I want (to have or to get done) something I don't let go before I've got it done or have it.

That was completely new for me, that these were positive parts of my character! I wasn't able to work for so many years because of illnesses etc. Was feeling bad about myself and now someone told me this!

So, whenever things aren't going the way I was hoping, I have to remind this Defining moment!
  • Gavin
    Thats great Stella.
    Yours is similar to mine.

    Eric,
First of all...THANK YOU for creating this for all of us in this amazing industry. I am also from MN. I have been part-time in this industry for 17 years. I am 35 years old and about to turn 36. Early on I really struggled.....I jumped around from company to company, and ultimately hit a couple home runs in tradtional business and really just "dabbled" in MLM along the way. My most recent traditional business was the mortgage business and I think we all know what happened there. I was CEO of my own very large mortgage compnay in MN and ultilately we ended up closing our doors. When the housing industry collapsed it made me really realize for the first time that I should have taken Network Marketing more serious, and been building my "Plan B" more seriously all along. In April of 2008 I got a call from a guy I have a ton of respect for that I was involved in another company with 15 years ago. I had pretty much given up on the idea of Netowrk Marketing. I had spent 5 years previously with another MLM and was very frustrated and had pretty much told my wife I would not get involved ever again in the industry. My friend had a ton of credibility with me and caused me to get involved.

I am going to be completely honest and say that when he called me in April of 2008, we did not even have the $400.00 to sign up. I was so devastated by what happened with my other business, that I did not even have the drive/ambition to hit the ground running. For 90 days all I did was go to the meetings which my upline does daily and watch and learn. There was a 24 yr old kid that was making more money than me and it really made me mad. On July 9, 2008 I flew out of bed and looked my wife dead in the eyes and I said, "We are DOING THIS!"---Now up until that point I was scared to call people, lacked the self-esteem etc, but I knew if that 24 yr old kid could get a FREE car and make six-figures, that I could too!

My defining moment was July 9th when I basically hit the phones for 48 hrs straight and PERSONALLY sponsored 17 people into my company with credit card and all - and you know what is Ironic? Most of them did not even see a LIVE presentation or a website. It was my belief, passion, and conviction that sold them on joining me!In my 17 years of being involved in this industry nothing felt better than that day that I made that decision that I could succeed.

My sponsor always says not to prejudge becasue you "Can't measure the heart of a man or woman"....you never know what their "WHY" is or how bad they want it....I have HEART and DESIRE...

I will be honest in saying that my wife and I have struggled and bascially are having to start all over as a result of the failing housing industry, but Network Marketing has given us "HOPE" again......and it is a GREAT feeling.

I appreciate all that you do and for making these trainings available to all of us - I hope I get a chance to meet you personally someday.
  • Thanks Eric,

My defining moment (one of many) is when I attended a company event with the top earners in the organization. I learned that just having the DESIRE to be successful wasn't enough. Everyone in the room had desire...but all of the top earners had BELIEF. Unshakable belief. Without it you just can't rise to the top. I have it now and I will rise to the top because of it.

    Keep these great videos coming!

    Hi Eric,
Love your show. It's been a while that I wanted to comment on your videos. I've been watching them in the archive and for some reason they don't let me comment. I agree with a lot of things you say and some of the interviews are great!

I've been in the business of Network Marketing since I was 14 (summer and after school programs). I am now 23 and I have already managed to own 2 businesses, be an investor in a hotel, and work in a corporate job which I was laid off a year ago now.

I would say my defining moment was my being laid off my last job. That is because after losing my share in the hotel (long story how..) I decided to go "hide" in a corporate "secure" job, that is why I decided to work in a corporate environment believing it was safe and secure, my pay check at the end of the month... I believed that with my entrepreneurial talent I would be able to climb the ranks and eventually get to an executive level. I was half right, with in 6 months I got my first large promotion and by end of year one I got an offer to become a director of a devision if I were able to create it. I was so happy and took on the challenge of creating this new devision - my dreams seemed to come true, I was getting an offer to being an executive at year two and I am only 22!!! But then that quickly changed. I got hold of sensitive information, that my company was going through a large merger and that 310 employees from the three agencies will have to be laid off, due to lack of funds. I then suspected that I wasn't safe any more, nor did I feel secure. I then decided (as a precaution) to look for another job. Long story short - 7 months later I was laid off, and I still haven't found a job! I was out of a job now for 13 months!!! I decided that owning my own business is the most secure job ever! I am in the Network Marketing business - I am now going pro!

Thank you for your inspiration, keep up the great work. I would like to one day host you here in Montreal for a seminar or workshop. Please email me to arrange.

    All the best

    Great one, Eric!!!

One of my defining moments, is to introduce my new mlm business to my mother.

I'm 31 years old now, and a few years back i enrolled to a mlm business (my second one) and showed
    it to my mother.

My mother is very sceptic (and protective for her child) and she said this is not a good thing to work at.
at that company... i did not do a thing.

Last year, when i enrolled to my amazing new company, i invited her to see, knowing see will be negative,

    but i just did'nt care!!

I realized that this was something i was doing for ME!!

Thank you Eric for all you are doing for this industry, and for us!!

    Best Regards,

    Yaniv Nachmanzon
  • I have SEVERAL defining moments.

    1) Meeting a beautiful woman who became my closest friend and is now my wife and my desire over the years to make her proud of me and give her the life that she deserves.

    2) The birth of my precious children...reinforced the responsibility that I had to create more than a life for them.

    3) When my wife and I became networkers for our first Network Marketing company we had qualified for our first private cruise with some of our upline leaders. I will never forget standing and talking with our upline leader that we met for the first time on the cruise. I stood there talking to him, and I could not believe my eyes...I just remembered how hard I was working (70hrs per week) in my job, and I could just tell both in his physical being and his mental being that this man had ZERO stress!!! He had all the financial securty that anyone would dream of and had total freedom of his families time! I was seeing him at the Peak of his stress level. What a defining moment this was for me. I wanted and yearned for that type of lifestyle!

    4) Years later, in my job as a VP for a large company, Human Resources were coming to town to visit my operation. I had a relationship with the former President that had left the company 1 year earlier and was talking to him about their visit prior to HR's arrival. The former President said, they are going to offer you a promotion and ask you to move to the Corporate office! In reality, they told me that the company was moving another direction and told me I could quit or be fired! What an unsettling feeling in my stomach. I had to go home to tell my family that our household income just went from over 100K per year to ZERO in the same day. I vowed to myself and my family at that moment that I would NEVER allow another company or boss to control my families destiny any longer!

    5) When I committed to my most recent network marketing (Hybrid Marketing) enterprise this last July. My first prospect and good friend told me, "Brad let me give you some advise because I don't want you to be disappointed. NO One will want to do this business, You won't make ANY MONEY, and You will spend more than you make if you do make any and therefore you will go into debt!!!". I could have rolled up in a ball and believed him or I could let my self belief that I had sustain me and use this conversation as motivation to propel me into massive action! I made a decision at that moment and I choose to BUILD IT HUGE! As a result in 9 months, I have over 2700 people in the US and internationally on my teams!

    Never, Never, Never Give Up!

A Person of Integrity Expects to be Believed, and When They Are NOT They Let TIME Prove Them RIGHT!!!

Thanks Eric for all that you do my friend!

Hi Eric- Thanks for sharing a great video.

I am 22 years old, I was born here in LA but I grew up in Thailand. I came back to the U.S. in 2006 with no experience and could not speak English at all. I started my part-time job as a busboy at Thai restaurant, and when my sister called me from Thailand and told me about network marketing, I was so skeptical and did not like these kind of business. But I decided to go to the meeting because I didn't want to work in the restaurant forever. And that night and that decision was totally changed my life. I never been the same. I was very very shy person but not anymore, and when I had a chance to been to Big Event ( Agel world) my business partner from Israel kept telling me that she believe in me that I can be what I want to be, and she can see something in me that i'm gonna be very successful. Those words that she kept telling are still in my head because I never seen myself as she saw in me. I want to thank you her again because after that big event my organization is totally changed but i'm still not reach big ranks yet but i'm sure I will. Currently, I'm working very hard on myself because I really want to be very successful in this industry and want show to the people who used to looked down at me about this business and prove to them that this little guy who has no experince, still young and very shy but succeed in this business.

Thank you again Eric..!! you are a great leader in this industry that help people all over the world have a chance to dream again.

Thank you, Thank you and Thank you.

  • My defining moment was when our leaders said "hang around the flagpole", Don't Quit and you will succeed!
We are honing our skills everyday and thank you so much for improving the view of a Network Marketing Pro!

  • Hi Eric - two defining moments for me: 1) realizing that the residual model of passive income in the network marketing industry would build the same way that ex-racing greyhound adoption programs found pet homes - leverage and word-of-mouth advertising and that 2) personal development really is "the secret" in our business!

    Thanks for all you do.

  • Eric,
We live in Columbia, MO and have been owners of a gymnastics business for 20 years. My husband and I became involved in NWM in July of 2008 with a brand new company called Lifemax. We were very green at the time (really stumbling, not knowing what was going on.) But in the following few weeks we listened to all of the conference calls and webinars we could get our hands on. Things began to be clearer. Our up line (relatives) from Hilton Head Island, SC had intended to fly in and help us with our very first PBR (private business reception). We were excited! We invited guests to our home (all of the rest of our relatives live in Iowa, so these invited were mainly friends, 12 people in all.) We had a mix, everything from a neighbor who was unemployed, to insurance, stay at home Mom, Day care Provider, and including a very successful financial planner named Carl who I greatly admired because of his own success in life, both personally and financially. Carl was very receptive to the idea of our company and in fact left the meeting wanting to join us for breakfast the next morning so we could discuss his options with Lifemax. There was lots of excitement at the meeting and several of our friends became distributors that evening. Eight of the original twelve registered as distributors (not bad for our first in-home meeting). We were so excited that Carl was meeting us for breakfast the next morning as I said he was and still is greatly admired in our community. We could hardly wait to have him join us on our journey. Well the next morning came and Carl had left a message on our cell phone stating he was having 2nd thoughts and was canceling our breakfast meeting. He stated that he was worried that in his profession he was concerned about losing his credibility with people. I was devastated and insulted! My husband and I had been in business in our community for 20 years and we have great credibility and we did not feel in jeopardy of losing any of it! Did he think we had no credibility? Our up line immediately got on the telephone and tried to reach Carl. He answered and they had a conversation but Carl decided it just wasn't for him. That was my defining moment. From that point on (that was 9 months ago and I still feel as strong about this today as I did then) I was bound and determined with a fierce driving force to prove to Carl that this business was going to be a very SUCCESSFUL business in which my credibility would only grow stronger with people in my community and my close friends! Carl is still a friend of ours but he doesn't know that many times during a month HE is my reason for being successful in this company. My husband and I are in the process of building a great financial future for ourselves. We are very happy with were we are in NWM right now and we continue to grow each week and our distributors continue to grow with us. I am not worried about tarnishing my credibility as I know the product I am presenting is a superior one and the company is one of the best! I believe in them and myself, but Carl has really been my driving force and he doesn't even know it. Some day I may share my story with him.

Thank you Eric for all you do, you are helping us expand our business and we greatly appreciate it!

I been in NLM business 1 year , the defining moment that keep me working every day despite the results I have reach, is when I started good friend who was 2 generation up of my upline said: this is a Leadership business you have to figured up in your country how to received products and how to resolved the minor thinks, don’t expect than some else resolved for you. It gave me a lot of energy to show myself that I can do it.

  • Thanks Eric....those defining moments were when I met a dude by the name of Todd Smith back in '92 at a Rexall Showcase Int'l corporate convention in Orlando, Fla....He's the one I duplicated by saying...."Are you making all the money you want?" then you wait,....until the person answers..PERIOD! "If I can show you a way to start your own biz and and make more......you know what to do from there! Then it was Randy Gage who I started to promote through Prime Concepts ...He was my biggest money maker on the net....found him 2 years later doing Networking Marketing...and joined the company....spent awhile learning from the best and I'm still learning each and every second of the day!....my 2 direct partners now...a few have left that were over me...Now I realize that when you Focus on a dream...there is nothing and no one that can come between you and your dream....I am learning this now....Connectors never know enough! We never say no to the universe! Thank you, What can I learn, and how can I grow from what I'm receiving?
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

    Hi All,
Last year, after working 11 years in a well known Telecom company I took a hard look at were I was after investing all those years in one company. So, he it is I..... traveled the world, started my family, grew professionally, climb the corporate ladder, and I met many good people along the way...This is all good, but I was unable to make plans in my life due to the extensive travel, did not know my kids, did not know my wife anymore, actually was making less money then when I started, they wanted to reduce my benefits, and weighed 228lbs. That is the day I decide it that there must be another way, and started to make changes, I started reading good stimulating books, something I did very little off, I made time form my kids and wife, started exercising, eating sensibly, and changed my outlook on life. I looked into MLM and joined a company which did not suit me, lasted 4 month, immediately after I found another that I like very much and believe in, though the financial freedom is not there yet, and far from it. I believe in my heart that it will come in due time, and that I am with the right company to do it
Today I have a wonderful relationship with my kids, my wife and I are growing closer by the day, I weigh 179lbs., and I am very happy even under a difficult financial situation.
When I started my reading habit I came across this quote from Henry David Thoreau which had a profound impact on me as I did not want my life to be such.
” Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them.”
    Cheers, we can do it!
    Jose
  • Eric, so grateful that you have stepped up to take this industry mainstream!!

My defining moment was when I heard a talk about the "effort - reward ratio". The speaker told a story about a guy who ran out of fuel going up a hill - the effort to push the car over the hill in the beginning was almost 100%, and the reward (ie the car moving) was almost 0%. But when he crested the hill, things very quickly turned around - the effort to get the car moving was almost nill, and the reward - a very fast moving car!! That penny has just recently dropped for me, and I realise that I need to put in much effort without expecting the big rewards for a while - but hope to crest that hill and join you all at the top sometime...

My defining moment was 7yrs ago when I was introduced to unique products, sold through Network Marketing.I was soooooooo excited I could offer health, wellness, and wealth, to those looking for REAL solutions, and REAL freedom.I believe in walking the talk, so how easy it is to talk from the heart, and be passionate about what I do. I believe this is the greatest time in history, where we can re-create the world we live in,only this time do things better. The joy comes from seeing how everyone can WIN.Growing a Network Marketing bring's its challenges, but that's where growth comes from. Since looking at your daily message's I and some of our team have decided we are now in PROFESSIONAL NETWORK MARKETING, and it is making a big differience to my business. When I introduce myself as being PROFESSIONAL it send's out a clear message, and they know I have something worthwhile to say. After being in 2 other professions before this,I can safely say this is the BEST PROFESSION to be in.
  • My defining moment was when someone explained the compensation plan to me and the concept of residual income and how I would be my own boss and business owner and if I worked the business everyday for a five year period I would be successful, this was my defining moment. That my friends is the reality of this business model. Previously to joining a Network Marketing business I had a successful career in industry, but having said that I was made redundant twice and companies went bust on me twice and my pension has been badly hit with the stock market falling. Joining a NM company was the best business decision I have ever made, I only wish I had discovered it 20 years ago and not 4. I now have control of my life, how good is that? If anyone out there is thinking of joining a NM business my advice is "Just do it" (what alternative is there?)
  • I got introduced to Xocai, the healthy chocolate and it is really is my first experience with network marketing. I knew nothing about this industry. I own a day spa, but the idea of building a residual income raised my curiosity. After I enrolled 2 people on my birthday a few months after joining, I decided I can do this too and I will not quit. Perseverance pays!
  • my defineing moment in this industry was the day I was given the dvd from a friend of mine who did not join until a year later.I looked at the dvd and joinedtwo days later its been life changing.
  • Great Topic; My Defining Moment in Network Marketing & in life (Thanks to NM!) was when I picked up a little book 3 years ago and it said that, "We are responsible for creating our reality"! Wow, that was such a defining moment, I guess I was open to receiving that message and now I am on an amazing journey. This industry can teach you lots about yourself and how to "Create your own Reality"! So Guard your thoughts! Enjoy the Journey...

    Thanks Joe.
  • My first defining moment was when I first met Bob Schmidt. After a lunch Bob walked into the room and was talking with a few of us who were new. And he said "if you are coachable and consistent you can expect to hit your financial goals." I drove home so excited, and full of hope and positive expectation. I said to myself over and over I can do this!

I have not had a difining moment yet.maybe I have had it and don't even know it.

    Eric,

I've been in MLM industry just one year, and I had some defining moments, but after looking at this video, I can assure you that this moment has to be, definitely in the list.

The reasons are quite simple, I realized after hearing you and reading some of the comments, that a lot of the obstacules in this industry, are just inside me: beleif, consistency, respect to the profession, and credibility.

I have been succesfull in my own business, I also give lectures and MBA and Marketing courses in two well known Universities, and I am very well recognized in both, but I realized that everything depends on me, on my personal work and presence. I felt secure in my own world, but this world was not giving me the financial liberty I was expecting. When I realized this, I took the decision to risk my status quo and to became a network marketing pro. This profession as you said in the first video is not very well recongnized and I was afraid of being related. I decided to go pro and to change my life.
  • Dear Eric,

I have yet to have a "defining Moment" UNTIL NOW!!!!

We are so going to have coffee!!!

  • My defining moment was when I realized I can not blame nobody for my failor in my business or anything else, but myself.
  • RoX (Chile)
One of my defining moments in NM was one I was reading one of the first chapters of "Your First Year in Network Marketing".

That is when I learned that this was an industry where you had to STAY, PERSEVERE, be a LEADER, WORK WITH YOUR HEART and NEVER EVER GIVE UP! I realized that THAT was what I was looking for, and not just that, I HAD all those qualities... and it turned out to me to my first BIG DEFINING MOMENT IN NETWORK MARKETING...
  • Eric, I have had several defining moments since I started watching you back on March 14th, but the most defining was when I was about 20, I'm now 56 . At that time in my life, I didn't talk to anyone, I was very shy. I walked into a grocery store and saw a magazine on the news stand, that stated on the front cover in bold letters, " Shy People Never Amount To Anything." That tore me to pieces, I couldn't stand to think I would never amount to anything. I wanted to be somebody, I wanted to be known. I bought that magazine, took it home, read it, then took action. It had exercises in it to do, like talk to people in the groceries store line, look just above there eyes, and don't worry about what they think, because you will never see them again, who cares what you say, just talk. Well, I did those exercises, and since that time, have never shut up. It changed my life for ever, now I just need to learn how to listen. Thank you for all that you are doing.

    My defining moment...
when the companies CEO I worked for, decided to sell the company. There was litlle room for all of us and the only one who really got better from it was the CEO! I quit my job and decided this was not going to hapen to me once more. I want to control my own life. Although I am not that succesfull yet, I know I (we) will be. We earned enough to sent our daughter to Canada for study, but still need some more to live on. Our target is financial freedom which gives allover freedom...! So, with a little help from Eric's messages(thanks mr. EW), we decided to go for pro! and YES, we can!
    best regards.

Unbelievable!! Eric what a fantastic way of bringing our profession together.

I have several defining moments, so you could say I have been around for awhile. I can remember each one of them but I will share just a few. When I first entered the corporate world, I was only interested in my career path in my chosen profession, fortunately the owner of the company had a bigger vision for me than I had for myself and was a firm believer in personal development and started me on the path of working on myself. Unfortunalely for him, his business closed because of the economic times and I moved on after 12 years. Because of my personal development, I completely changed careers and landed with a co. whom had two very strong leaders whom worked on positive mental attitude and personal development and I was able to be successful and continue on the right path. My personal desire and motivation caused me to leave them and go into business for myself following my own lifelong desire and passion. Fifteen years later due to several circumstances my desire and passion left me and again I was changing careers. Utilizing all that I had learned I sought out a co. whom I could work with for all the right reasons, fortunately for me I was able to find it and when I first looked at that company I discovered something that I missed in all the previous years. One of the speakers used the phrase "When you transfer your beliefs from your head to your heart great things will happen" I realized right then that I never had totally understood that and had missed it all these years. I truly beleve that God has been watching over me and when a door has closed another has opened.
Eric, I don't know you personally but I do know you have opened another door for all of us.
Thank You!! Thank You!! Thank You!!

Awesome stuff AGAIN ERIC! My defining moment came in 2003 after I had gotten laid off by two companies going out of business. I had no job and frustrated after years of school and a move from Houston to South Florida for work. One of my mentors at the time told me I should read this book by and Author who is in our company, so I picked up a little book by Robert Allen "One Minute Millionaire" I read it feverishly and when I was done I was compelled to say screw getting a job I'm working for myself and I will succeed! 6 yrs later I never went back to a job and I have successfully grown my network marketing business! That was the best choice I have ever made.. I love this industry!
  • Hi Eric,

GREAT Video - thanks a lot for all the work you are puting into this. Acctually I have a defineing moment that I'd like to share with everyone. I had been working my Network Marketing business for about two years, consumed products for my own use and sold a little, made a small organisation but due to being introvert and unsecure I did not get the results that I aspired for.

But during the convention Plantin Organisationleader Ulrich Walther said : "Success here is all about ATTITUDE! Knowledge and credentials is important but not vital - ATTITUDE IS! If you apear self confident and you show that you are proud of your company, then you get the credentials you need, and with it success". - and then he said something that changed my whole perspective. "When someone ask you what do you do - how do you answer? Ohh I'm a banker and then I'm in Network Marketing? - that's the wrong ATTITUDE - the right answer is I'm in Network Marketing and then I'm also a banker. Because mentaly both to your self and your suroundings you make your network marketing business the most important part of your career!"

Theese words changed my perspective a lot and the following month my bonus check increased by 125%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    That's my defineing moment!

Hi Eric! This was an awesome video.
My first defining moment was in 2005 when my husband said, "I'm going to do Network Marketing, and I'd like you to do it with me...Please don't steal my dream." I knew then that he was serious. I was BEING skeptical but I didn't want him to "go" without me. Then he told me, "I believe in you." and that clinched the deal. We had no experience in MLM before. I joined him in business and I'm so happy I did.

My second moment was last year when my friend Denise told me she believed in me and that I can "borrow her belief" until I have my own. When my friend Dave repeated that sentiment recently, I realized I do have the skills and drive to be successful. I could not sleep either of nights after hearing that from my friends. That was my wake up call to get busy, get out there and share the gift.

I AM a Network Marketing Pro. Thank you!

    Hello Eric,

    What an amazing video !!
Here are two of my defining moments:
    1. the first evening I was introduced to the industry. that was 6 years ago with a very famous MLM company. one of the giant ones. I knew NOTHING at all about this kind of opportunity.
It blew me away. I just retired from the navy at the age of 40 (+ 1 month) because of another defining moment for me - there.
The guy that presented the opportunity was very convincing and honest. so I said YES for the first time.
Didn't have much succses but that was my fiert time..

    2. In March 2005 I was introduced to a pre-lounch activity here in Israel regarding an MLM company that was going to make History in the industry. I was not so active at that time in the other company I was involved with. So I joined the new one. there was no product yet and no charge for joining. YET.
I did not do nothing at all. three month later they began charging the money. Since i do nothing at all - I quit that company - deciding to NOT return to the industry ever again. BUT THE BUG OF MLM KEPT BOILING INSIDE...
That company opend in Israel 4 months later - in October 2005 together with 9 more countries.
AT April 2007 the company here had a mojor international event at Haifa Congress Hall.
That event was shocking to me because that was my working place (still is as an operating manager).
The event was called GO EUROPE.
I attended the first day. I was amazed. ANOTHER DEFINING MOMENT after a sleepless night - I decided to join that company (your company) - AGAIN !!! (it took 9 more month till i actually did..).
I decided to take the long journey, the marathon and to stay and seccseed NO MATTER WHAT !!

thank you again Eric, for the amaizing lessons you bring to the industry.
    LET'S GO PRO !!

  • Eric,
I am so new to the network marketing field......just 6 weeks, but I think the defining moment I had was a couple of weeks ago when Paul Caldwell from my upline said on a webinar......Stick with it. There are going to be so many who don't, but those who do will be the ones who are going to be successful. And like you, he said to study everything you can from the pros. Eat, sleep and drink it and you will hone your skills........so, that is what I am doing.

I absolutely love your site and look forward to be able to sit down and watch. I really enjoyed hearing 2 of your defining moments and truly look forward to being able to meet you one day in person.

Thank you for doing this and look forward to Mondays now so I can watch a new video.

Years ago when I worked in that Federal Prison directly behind you the Correctional Officers use to always joke around about having a cell for me because I was in one of those "Schemes." I have always been driven to prove them all wrong, but I'm thankful for it because like you I've lasted, grown, & become a better person, always looking forward to encouraging someone else.
  • My defining moment was around the second or third NMPRO video. That is when I found my "Why" in network marketing. I decided to duplicate Eric's vision to help fellow NM entrepreneurs become professionals; go pro! Of course, mine is a smaller scale, but I am feeling so good about helping others. Thanks for starting NMPRO Eric.
  • This was a defining moment for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY - Susan Boyle. Everybody's Somebody. You just have to believe in yourself and go out there and do it.

My defining moment were in Minneapolis, last february, in your Special Training: You made us feel, that WE ALL CAN DO IT!
    YOU BELIEVE IN US!
    YOU HAVE FAITH IN US!
That CHANGED MY LIFE, my trust in myself, my believes!
I KNOW WE ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE, AT THE RIGHT TIME, IN THE RIGHT BUSINESS, WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE!
    Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone, i have 2 defining moment to share with you:
1.The first was when I find Network Marketing because I was very excited about the business concept and the unlimited income potential. I understand what i am going to do in my life. But it was a little hard in the begining because i was19 years old,a shy guy , my family don't help me verry much, don't understand me and i didn't knew somebody that are very succesfull in this industry to learn from him, i knew that i need a mentor,a coach because i used to practice sports for 3 or 4 years and i didn't have success because i didn't have somebody to show me how to do it and i learnt from that. Then I search, I search and finally I find the people and the company that I want to work with.
2.The second defining moment was when I participate to my first event.I knew that if i would not be there I will not do the business more. I made everything possible to go there and then I get it, I knew how the business is really work. Now i have 20 years and i work harder on me and in my business to become the best me i can. It will be many defining moments in my life and I wait very excited for them.

My first defining moment was about 14 months ago when i first came into contact with Network Marketing. The second moment came last october when was in Mannheim at an event where you were speaking. It was the first time i realised how profesional the industry is. A real eye opener.
And the last defining moment for me was when someone in my upline asked me what i gained by not doing certain actions. It took me about two weeks to come to a conclusion. I'm my own worst enemy right now on some levels. I'm doing personal development every day... And i believe this aspect i the greatest benefit in this industry.

    Thank you Eric!

    Hi Eric

I found the story very familiar. One of my defining moments in this industry was when i joined. i was broke and REALLY struggling with this NWM'ing THING. And Ivan Sisco told a story atone of our ABB's using a white board and told the exact same story that you just told. the only difference the story as he told it was what you related to him many years ago in another company. When he said that I knew that no matter how bad i was at this NWM'ing thing, that if I just hung on, I would have what you, he and many others in the industry have....TRUE SUCCESS....so I am still hanging on and making my way toward my dream!

It was excellent to have a chance to hear the source of that incredible Nugget.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Eric,

It's lovely to read above some of my friends and appreciate their defining moments, like yours.

We were over from the UK flying into Provo, Utah with my wife and 5 kids in tow; we were there to surprise our eldest daughter (#6) at BYU-Provo. If you're interested I found the tape I'd recorded of the surprise and posted it on YouTube only just last year, it was a fun visit: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE5GnkgeF-0)

Later during that trip whilst driving up I-15 towards Salt Lake City I saw a bill board poster, it simply said 'Rich Enough?' It got me thinking, I've been so blessed in my life, my wonderful wife and family, financially sound, have for many years a very comfortable income, but I realised so many of our friends back home who struggled and just had a hard time. It was if my blessings were unfair, how could I give back?

My wife and I give generously, but it's not enough to simply give, we need to empower others. I came to appreciate the fairness and rewards of success of the Network Marketing industry during that visit to Provo. I'd known for years of companies such as Amway etc, so appreciate the business model, but never until that time had a product that could excite me. Suffice to say I came across something unique that year our of Provo. This particular opportunity 'fired my imagination', I could personally relate to this company as I've always wanted to take nutrients and supplements but struggle with swallowing pills, (mentioning no names here.)

What it meant for me, simply was for the first time I could represent an opportunity that I believed in, that I could empower others, I could teach skills to help others improve their lives both financially and importantly for their own health and wellness.

What is more rewarding to me, are the reactions I have from those whom I've personally introduced to the business some who are making something for themselves, others for whom have such positive reactions to these products, they don't care if they make money of not, they feel liberated in their health.

I believe one of the greatest untold blessings will be the lives we might have saved or improved, because of the consumption of the kinds of products available in this health and wellness sector of the Network Marketing industry. That is a defining moment all in itself when you contemplate that thought.

One of the greatest challenges for all is - standing firm! People don't fail, those that fail are those that quit. Those who are in for the long run, will realise the challenges and joy of this business in their fulness.

I wish all of my fellow network marketing professionals, the success that they truly desire for others.

    Best Wishes, John.
  • Eric, I've had several defining moments in my life:

    1. Realizing my worth with unlimited possibilities.

    2. Following my bliss.

    3. The experience of my Epiphany which completely changed my life.

    4. After four years of 12 to 14 hour days, with total focus, and now having people who bought, read, and are spreading the word about "Littluns," with their excitement beyond my wildest dreams, has me on cloud nine. The feed back now tells me that "Littluns" will soon become a phenomenal success - the most defining moment of my life.

    Hi everyone.
My first, and only one yet, defining moment .
I'm a new in MLM, just 3 months as a distributor. My sister told me about one company and I have joined to it. After watching video 4th time, I've realised that it is very good opportunity and I saw the future in my eyes. I wrote down notes in my notebook strait away and couldn't sleep that night at all. I understood that this will change my life. Three more nights I was dreaming about the things I have to do and what is going to be. I am still very exited.
Good luck to everybody in MLM business ;)
    Regard
  • I've also had a number of moments, and I think they were more about life in general than about MLM, but they came about because of mlm.

The first is residual income. I hadn't ever really thought about that before, and MLM introduced it to me. WOW- that was big for me; it opened the door to the possibility of the freedom I think we all want. I've worked on structuring my life around that concept for a while.

I also went on the personal development route because of my mother being a fan, but when I was told that it was also related to money, I made that a habit also.

On the negative side, I remember seeing how much power someone who was "teaching you to be rich" had over people. I was in a group where the leaders were deified (made into little Gods) just because they had some success, and they were abusing that power. That made me extremely wary of the "leaders" in companies; sometimes I find they are full of it and lie "for the sake of the group".

I have more and more moments related to who I WANT to be in this business versus who other people think I should be. I have found more and more reason to listen to my own desires, and for that I am grateful to the industry.

First up, thank you for sharing your life lessons with us. Secondly, I think one of my defining moments was when I was in Minneappolis St. Paul, after your ABB, you took me aside and gave me "my freedom!" My freedom was when you told me I could do this network marketing thing on my own, without need of permission from anybody else. You told me that when I finally get it, that I should turn it loose and let it fly! It's a bit bummpy sometimes, but I've got my wings now!

    Thanks,
    T-bone
  • Eric, Fantastic message!
I am new as well to NM and was doing great in the first 3-4 months, then there were 2 guys at the top of the team I joined that became greedy. The way the team was run forced all of us to become reliant on these two guys and because of that, the entire team fell apart.
I completely believed in the company but the teams’ philosophy was completely not correct and it wasn't until I got involved that I figured out how the team operated.
I have had many defining moments in life but my defining moment in NM actually happened just yesterday when I watched a brilliant video by a very generous leader Mr. Eric Worre titled "Say Goodbye to your Upline"
I am ready to get back in the game!
    Thank you so much.
  • Hi Everyone!

Thank you for sharing, I just finished reading all the comments!
My definning moment was when my former employer decided that she could not afford to pay my salary for 2 months, and asked me to work harder to increase the revenew! I did work harder and for free, untill I got an "anonymus" tip that she just bought a brand new car!
That was the day that I went back to my friend and ask him to take me to a live presentation for his NM company ( I watch a dvd, 3 months prior to that). It was time to take control!
I look forward to the next episode! thanks for the mentoring!

Dear Eric, thank you so much for your great project. I choose to be a nmpro and your project met me in a perffect timing!
I join my network marketing company 15 month ago. Two month latter I participated a great event, GO DIAMOND, in Israel. In this event I realized that the business oportunity that my company offers is a uge platform to create social revolution in my country and in the entire world. For me it was a defining moment. I feel blessed and as I already said, I choose to be nmpro. Looking forward to the next DVD.
    Bleess you,

inspiring you gave me an idea..

Now one of my defining moments
was last year I got on one of my first

    and Joe Schroeder asked
if anyone wanted to say hello

I said "hey it's JoAnn Donahue, Hi Joe"
    Joe then said
"now that's how you walk into a room
JoAnn is going to make me
    a Million Dollars one day!"

It was the same for me then
as it was for you when you
heard that man tell your dad about you.

I felt so alive in that moment
and to think Joe saw something
in me that I personally always believed
    was in me yet was
not ready to vote myself in.
    And when I did..
to get that kind of validation
    set me on fire..

Have I made a million dollars
    for Joe no not yet..
    I just keep showing up
    and working on my skills
    and sooner or later
I will be where I am
    heading and beyond!!

    Thank You Eric,
  • GUYS I JUST REALIZED HOW LONG MY COMMENT HIS, SO PLEASE IGNORE IT :)

    I had three defining moments:

When I first took a look to the tool my friend and previous sponsor António Silva had given me (3 weeks after he handled it to me...). It was on a Saturday, in June 2008.I was invaded by such a feeling, like I was looking for this Industry since I was born and got it now on a plate!
Immediately after I review the tool, I bombarded António with phone calls for two days. I couldn't believe he wasn't answering me!
On Sunday I kept on calling him with no success! I was calling to António and Orlanda, his wife...
I was so frustrated I even considered getting another person to start the business...
Next Monday I got this call from António saying "Alfredo what is going on, we have several missed calls from you. Is there something wrong? We were in Disneyland that’s why we couldn't answer..."

The second defining moment was after my father died, September that same year. I got in a deep depression and several odd thoughts came though my mind.., unbelievable...

Anyway, at a certain moment, I decided I would take my life under control, I would get into my senses and decided to dig in on this Industry, because I believed (and still do) that this would be where I would fulfill all my dreams.

The third defining moment was when I got recruited by an MLM monster, whose name everybody knows.
He his now making videos about our Industry and making them available over the internet in a site he created in March...

I some times write some comments about this videos on that site... :)

I just wish we could spend more time together, so I could have another NWM defining moment...

    Love you all
    Alfredo Rodrigues
  • 6 years ago, some very blond girl told me she earned 27000 euro's that month and I thought: " If she can, I'm gonna sit here untill I do as well. It took 2 years (not easy one's) untill I had 25,000, next month was 38,000, we celebrated it with a lot of people during a wine tasting with champagne and caviar! Next moment was a collegue that came along with a new mercedes SLK, I thought: OK so it's really possible... even for her... The culture wasn't nice over there, now I'm in AGEL and I saw Denise Clements, whome I knew from the other company. She is amazing, a real diamond and a loving person, which is a representative for AGEL for me. Told me that she learned so much at ILS. I could see her growth since the former company. I want to be like her. Not just earn a lot but also be very alive, enthousiastic and loving with time for her family and loved ones. She really moved, touched and inspired me.
I also liked the starting fase: I was full time AGEL, so in the morning I did calls for my major blast, then had a warm lunch with champagne, had siesta and PBR's with a lot of guests in my house in the evening. Loving to have them at my home with hospitality. After that first month I did a simple job with 2000 euro's of AGEl money at the side. Big fun!
Now I have the finest collegues, with whom I like to be, all the time in the world to be with my cats, go to the vet (just in case), or work on personal growth..., fitness...entertain friends, listen to music....
I'm going to have a job for some time, choose one that inspires me, and look forward to an excellent future. I'm sure that some hardship now, will grow my personality and will eventually lead to inner and outer strength and wealth. Looking for people that want the same. I'd love to be at next ILS. with the leaders I saw at Go Diamond, which filled me with love and passion. Like to thank the people with whom I could share this experience. Danny, Brigitte, Erin and Myron were there, Muriel, Denise, Tim and Julie.
And Ad, at a distance, but there to share, I like to thank him for understanding what I texted to him. Which is also a defining moment. Maybe a week ago, he told me that he believed in my succes in AGEL, that was also a defining moment, as well as writing this.
  • Eric, Thanks for sharing your 'defining moment' with us!!
From my site I can say, that I had my 'defining moment' about a couple of month ago. And I guess it was triggered by a few circumstances....
by so many people around me not giving me enough credit, that I will make it in this industry ( since I am on my 4th!!), by people who MADE it in this industry, who have a lesser education than I have, and than my company itself which offered new tools to MAKE IT!!!
So all together one evening I turned from 'blind' to 'see the light'....and I GOT IT!!!
If the top money makers in my company can do this, I CAN DO THIS!!! There is no difference between them and me!..it's about consistency...and DO NOT QUITT!!!
And I guess the more people say 'no' ( and please take a look what THEY have achieved in life!!)
..I will say 'YES'...I will be wealthy, not only with money, but with time.
If you have time to do what you want to do, and with whom you want to share it....that is WEALTH!!
And thank you for sharing your interviews with us, since that had a major impact on my 'defining' moment as well!
Have a great and successful day,
    Carmen
  • Awesome Video.... great comments. Thank you to everyone for sharing. I'm still waiting for "The" defining moment to hit me, but I can feel it coming! Thanks again.
  • Eric, thank you for making this possible and offering defining moment’s everyday of the week. The first time I went door to door soliciting for the Boy Scouts selling wreaths and garlands I knew I loved sales. It was natural to participate in networking marketing. While I have done well in sales I was an amateur at network marketing. Sometime in the late 90's I became an expert and made even less money from MLM. It did give me a dozen more exemptions a year however increasing my take home pay.

About a year ago is when I got serious. The Network Marketing Profession made sense to me and I knew it was not sales. I did believe I had to be someone else, or pretend to be someone else, to be successful however. I was looking for a compensation plan that didn't require 10,000 people to make as much money a month. I was looking for someone who was doing it and who would show me how. While explaining all the Laws of Success a year ago, Eric Worre in his most off handed, aside way, said "you can do this, just be yourself.' Suddenly I saw I no longer had to sell anything and I could be me. Given enough time and doing the work consistently, the rest would take care of itself. I could start right from where I was. I didn't have to become something or someone else first. I have had to unlearn some things however.

    Thanks for being there.
  • What an assignment! Many moments are defining - some in hind sight... I was about 1 year in the business when Nathan Ricks first visited his downline in Israel. He gave a great training and towards the end of it, took out his old notebook/diary from when he started his carreer with his company. He read out load his goals and mission statement that he wrote back in 1989. I was amazed to hear him read his goals for 2050, written in present tense. Until then, I couldn't have imagined someone planning so far into the future...
Later, when I got aquainted with personal and life coaching and began a long road of personal development that way, I would remember Nathan's training and it gives me inspiration today, too. I share this with associates and it has really been a defining moment for me.
  • Defining moments are great because everything around the moment is normally recalled crystal-clear, like it was yesterday, even many years later.

Strange how the mind can isolate those instances with such clarity.
  • Hey Eric,

Great message as always! My first Defining Moment was in 1980 at an Amway meeting. I was invited over to a friend's home for pizza and got "ambushed"! LOL At the end of the evening I really wasn't interested in marketing "soap", but I was fascinated with the sheer mathematics of the MLM business model and I knew right then that this profession was in my future!

Today I'm enjoying a challenging and exciting career in Network Marketing.

I'm sure the Defining Moments will continue for each of us who choose to stay the course!

    Thanks again.

Thank you very much Eric for all you are doing for this rising profession.

We got introduced to the Network Marketing (Service) industry and this profession back in '97 and been enjoying the fruits since. There have been many defining moment for us on this journey as it simply just gets better and better.

Thinking back we would say the key defining moment was to meet with the founders of the company (4 months after we signed up). From that moment we had and still have 110% confidence in the rock solid foundations and vision of the company we work with.

Today we find ourselves fortunate to have found right from the beginning the company we trust and find
Like to share with you this advice:
People do not care how much you know or how hard you work.
Until they know how much you care .. about them .. then everything changes !

    Thanks again Eric.

We wish you and other Network Marketing Professionals all the success in the world!
  • Eric,
WoW! Probably the best video you've done yet. Thank you SO much for sharing just 2 of your defining moments.
I'd have to say that my defining moment came just last month at my company's launch event. I had never been to an event before (I've only just "dabbled" in different companies in the past), but just to feel the excitement and to see and meet people in the flesh was so powerful to me and completely solidified my enthusiasm and determination to succeed.
    Thanks Eric, you're awesome!

  • Hey! What'sup?! I am Alex Tita from Romania. I am 23 now.

    I) I had the blessing to be born in a family of great, remarkable parents, honest, hard working, ambitious, each one good in what they do, but for some reason they couldn’t understand each other and they broke up. And in the year 2000

    ..BAM!

Almost like a strike of lightning (at least this is the way I feel right now when I look back) I remained with my sister, with my mom, no apartment, with bankrupt business, and with substantial debt then that would scare 90% of the world population if they would have it right now.

So we find ourselves in the streets, and we had to restart way, way below zero.

    Briefly…

I tasted from the part of the life’s coin that I didn’t necessarily wanted to taste.

But this is what created my subconscious motivation at that moment to do something with my life, lo live on the other side of the coin, to do something.. something significant, something big, to live in abundance, happiness, peace, respect and fulfillment.

I didn’t knew exactly back then what, but I was certain that is going to be something. It was huge, way huge than me, I was scared and enthused in the same time.

II) In 06.07.2004 I was at my first convention where i GOT IT because the speaker also got it and he knew how to pass it forward! I got the leveraging part of the business.. i was sitting in my place and I GOT IT! I can see it clearly right now when i close my eyes the chart of geometric growth. I was 17 back then and i said to myself this is it! I'm going to be FREE, do what i want, where i want, for how much time i want, with who i want! i don't have to work for no one besides ME! The biggest value in my life is freedom and seeing that chance was huge.
After that i worked hard, studied everything, doing everything that my personal sponsor and close upline tolled me to do and just got frustrated to death, didn't worked for me but i kept on moving forward. In the mean time i got involved with other companies dragged along by my mom(witch i love her deeply but she is a mlm junkie- grinder as Randy Gage would define) because i didn't had at that time the wisdom and the guidance to know what's best. When i look back it was a great experience because i learned what not to do.

Finally after all the frustration i connect with my first true mentor John Di Lemme ex stutterer who overcomes his challenging in speaking trough network marketing and personal development and for the first time got a clear understanding of what are the fundamentals of doing the business, what do you look for in a company and most important he helped me find my why i was doing all the things in my life(what drove all the emotion and what to do with my life from then on).

After this everything changed! Almost everything that i did and learned until John was killing my chances for success because i was learning from grinders who soled the big dream that network marketing can give you but did the activities that are keeping you stuck.

III) Finally i found my home where i planted my flag, i found the company and the team and I'm going to the top!

I am soled out to this freedom business! For me everything is ON!

Fired UP guys! See you on the world stages!

Thanks Eric. My defining moments were actually paradigm shifts. Network Marketing came my way when I was over fifty.

Defining moment 1) I realized that there's a whole world out there that I don't know in spite of my education and position. "We know what we know and we know what we don't know. The paradigm shift is in the realm of what we don't know we don't know". Let's be humble. Let's be coachable. Let's listen.

Defining moment 2) When I realized that the several previous mlm companies I'd been involved in had a faulty compensation plan and that at this point I found an infallible one. "When many people do a few simple actions over a consecutive period of time - wealth is created". The comp plan should be simple enough so that anyone can do it.

Defining moment 3) When I heard Jim Rohn say: "Build a financial wall around your family that NOTHING CAN PENETRATE" - I realized WHY I was involved in network marketing. Security cannot be found in a job or a traditional business.

I hope these insights help others.

Very good video and lesson Eric. I would love to share a moment that changed me forever, I was 3 years into my career in Network Marketing and a person whom I respected had for 3 years made me feel very bad about being in the industry and until that very moment I would just laugh and joke ha ha, joke ha ha with him about it.

One day after I had just gotten back from convention, he again started to poke fun and I guess something happened to me during my time in convention but I stood up for my business and I became a man. I looked at him and said Bret, I have been in my business foe 3 years already, now by you making making comments you are saying one of 2 things about me, 1) you think that I am just too stupid to realize after 3 years that this is a scam or 2) you are saying that I know that its a scam and I'm ok with it. So what is it Bret, are you calling me stupid or a crook?

From that moment on he never again made fun of what I was doing and I took ownership of my business and a higher level of confidence came over me..

That moment changed my business forever.. There have been more but I don't want to write a book here.. Keep up the incredible work Eric.. God bless and have a safe trip..
  • My defining moment? Although I am new to this profession (Been involved for 7 months), I think I had a defining moment a few years back. It was not necessarily related to NM, but was related to taking control of your life.

I was working at P&G, and we had an offsite convention, we gathered into groups and part of the activity was to share our story and our dreams.

I was 23 at the time and what shocked me was that all the people in my group had had dreams, that they haven't achieved, they all dreamt about a life that they never got to enjoy because work got in the way. And the worst part of it, was that they DEPENDED upon that job to get by. The needed the job to pay the reant, to pay the mortgages, to get their kids through school, and so on.

I had my dreams, but the defining moment for me was that I could not let my life go by without attaining them, thus I had to make a change.

My suggestion to everybody here is, are you going to let life get in the way of your dreams?
The answer to that question can be very enlightening.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

For those interested, I have a BLOG that deals with Growth and Prosperity, many more stories there.(It is not about a NM opportunity! ;) )

  • I was laid off a couple of months ago- this was my defining moment. I realize that the network marketing company I joined in October has given me personally and professionally the support, leadership, mentoring, coaching and tools needed to develop myself and my organization. I realized my employer that laid me off lacked ALL these fine traits that an employer should be practicing on a daily basis. They did me a favor and although I am not making lots of money, my hope and belief gets stronger everyday and I am so thankful to have found this business model. I am setting aside my fears and have full confidence in the future. Thank you for all these videos, what a great way to start the day and share with others and to get others to their defining moment...

I got fired yesterday. I'm still looking at what my next move is going to be. What was defining is not that it has been the only time this has happened, but the fact my partner was there to support me and has strenghten me into becoming daring.
  • Firstly thank you so much for my morning fix - it gives me a great positive platform that energizes me as I start out each day.
My really big defining moment was at my first big event - Go Diamond - which was fantastic, but the defining moment was meeting a lady from Chile, who dispelled in a half hour of broken communication all the negative thoughts I had in my mind just prior to meeting her. She was a breath of fresh air, had the perfect attitude and posture that people were talking about. She could not converse fluently in English, but came over to our table and introduced herself as a member from another country. Her enthusiasm was so infectious and her stories of passing on the message without product stopped any excuses I was manifesting. From that day my 'fear" of just talking to strangers was dispelled. She transferred her belief and it was the turning point for me.
