Shocking thoughts... Gives me a sense of urgency to do network marketing.
  • I am a boring accountant who has preached for years now to anyone who will listen that every action my company takes should be measured and evaluated against some pre-determined goal. Why use limited resources on something that does not achieve your goals.

This is an performance based model and the economy is moving in this direction.

Whether you like it or not this is happening, so wouldn't it be better to be evaluated on how you perform and how it affects your bottom line, verses being evaluated on how it affects someone elses.

Safe is the new Risky. So true.

    Thanks!

He's not wrong! Never a truer word spoken - Network Marketing done right is clearly the way.

Wonderful interview. Great advice for ALL sales people to revisit their old prospect lists, not only NM pros. A real wake-up call. The monkeys are coming!!
  • Imagine having the opportunity to work for yourself, and yes I did say WORK, without the stress and unrealistic expectation of going to your corporate job everyday. It took 4 hard years of learning the industry of NWM. Imagine having the opportunity to work for yourself, and yes I did say WORK, without the stress and unrealistic expectation of going to your corporate job everyday. It took 4 hard years of learning the industry of (no different than a college education) and then applying and practicing those skills in order to change my mind-set and life. Was it easy? No. Was it worth it? Well, just ask my children who now have parents who are around and who can afford to can send them through college not to mention the lessons we teach them on entrepreneurship and leadership; they are leap years ahead of their friends in their mindset. Of course it was worth it. Will many people try the business for a few months working a few hours (if that) a week and then say it doesn't work, it is a scam,,, unfortunately, the majority of people will. To me, that is sad because the industry of NWM is the way to a better life regardless of your background, profession, skin color or origin. Interesting huh?

For those skeptics, stick around long enough to really learn and understand the industry, find you a mentor who has experience in the industry and treat it like a business. Yes, it is a real business, no different that selling Culligan water and getting paid on pure commission and then getting a kick-back every month when their units need additional servicing or an Insurance Agent who gets a commission when they sell a policy and then get a kick-back monthly when their customers pay their bills. I have a passion for my products so I share them with people, it is that easy. It fascinates me why people make it so complicated.

Thank you Randy Gage for this inspiring message. It sat on my desktop for a few weeks before I had time to listen to it (and yes folks it is because I have been so busy with my NWM business because the timing like Randy said is now) so I am glad you started my morning off with a reminder how blessed I really am. I sure hope others will experience the same take-away that I did.

Signed with my favorite quote that inspires me every day,

Do what others won’t so you can live like others can’t
  • Another Sucker
As long as you can find enough desperate or believing people this CAN work for you. Right Randy???!!!, Right Burge???!!!!
  • Kevin
As long as you can intelligently seperate the difference between desperatly seeking attention and desperately seeking a change "Another Sucker," it's all good...
  • Shelly
Another sucker...Its more like working for yourself... it just that the person who involved you and others get the marketing and sales profits instead of the giant corps. Sorry you had a bad experience! Not all mlm companies are the same!!!

Key number 1, never involve yourself in a company that tells you that you need to buy a very expensive starter package...(more than $300.00), in order to be SUCCESSFUL.

Key number 2, never involve yourself in a company that requires you purchase more than $100.00 dollars a month in product in order to get paid!

Key number 3...READ the compensation plan!!! Make sure you understand all the fine print! Personally I would never involve myself in a plan that has breakaways. Emotionally damaging!

Key number 4...variety of products. You company does not have to be a full on department store, but it should offer more than one or 2 products...and not just different flavors! People will end up using garage space if they can't personally consume their monthly requirement.

Key number 5... make sure the company is not telling you to give away your monthly purchases for marketing purposes! The company's main focus should always be about the product and consuming those products!

Key number 6...People who are the most successful in this business have outgoing personalities with good communication skill and presence. If you tend to be a person who is quiet and shy, it will be harder to build a business!! It can be done with the right company thou!

Key number 7...You must really like your products!! You can not talk yourself into this one...it must be true!
  • Slik approach by Randy Gage.

I dont think we head for a D-pression, because we all know how media like to make negative claims.
but network marketing will surly flourish in the next year.

    thank you for the video.
  • Everybody should be knocking on our doors to find out more how to participate. The fact that we have to chase people is a sad travesty on the industry. We need to present a strong industry model with the structure and function that works for all people...not some people. A pandemic 95% failure rate is not good and poorly perceived by the public. Let's return to the democratic roots of this home business where everybody who has above-average dreams can prosper.

    To all:

In 1979 my wife and I had a very successful Real Estate business in the mountains of Northern California up near Lake Tahoe. We had worked very hard for 7 years, had an enviable reputation with everyone in the county, 37 agents, two offices, had been Realtor of the Year, President of the local Real Estate Board, Land salesman top seller year after year.

No way on GOD's earth (and it is HIS) would I have looked at a Network Marketing Company.

(We had been invited to a dinner (we thought) and had been "Amwayed" years earlier)

Then came Jimmy Carter and his socialist conspirators, and next came The Big Recession, which was depression in Oregon and timber country, again thanks to the enemies of freedom who find comfort in government.

So 1980=82 arrived. Home loans were at 8.5% when "stability" reigned, but had shot up to: (get ready) TWENTY TWO AND A HALF PERCENT on home loans.

Down went businesses by the thousands. We made the decision to take our blood bath quickly and closed out and sold everything, retreating to our home.

But Health and Nutrition, in which I had great knowledge, was booming.

An ad appeared in Sacramento. I didn't believe the income claim,of course, but figured that if a three hundred dollar ad was in the next day also, I'd drive to Sacramento to the hotel meeting and have a look.

It appeared, we went. I was careful not to scare my wife, because I figured it had to be MLM with those income stories (no longer legal). If she had thought we'd drive fifty miles to get "tricked again"......

We went, it was Herbalife in it's infancy. There was no con, products were proudly displayed, the stories were genuine. We joined to take the products.

We put on the button. Correction: I put on the Lose Weight Now Button, Diane was too shy .

Instantly we were besieged by people . Had a small meeting for three bank tellers, in walked my best account as a Real Estate Broker. They had gone from building prox twenty five homes a year to about three, things were very tough. Long story. He joined. The next three who joined with us had been very successful in various businesses, but were months behind, etc. NOT A ONE OF THE FIRST FOUR OF US WOULD HAVE PAID ANY ATTENTION TO MLM a year or so earlier.

18 months later, we were ALL in the top producer's club and traveled the world for that all too short period of time before the Media Hit was orchestrated by the enemies of freedom, and our LARGE income was kicked to eleven hundred a month in 9 months.

We stayed to fight back with OUR money, which was a dumb thing to do.

Yes, because of the savings accounts of several thousand nutrition zealots like us, the company recovered by going over seas but by then many of us had other life tragedies come along.

But my Oregon couple... story coming...are still with the company and have made "serious money"
    So has my Builder Friend.

Of my first four people in those dark depression days, three are still in MLM, except for Bill, who passed away too soon. The capper to this story is this: My second level guy told his relatives up in Oregon that a guy named Bob (me) would come up and do a meeting. He asked me AFTER that. LOL.

And as sponsors and hard working business folks, we said "YES!"

Problem for most folks: Oregon was at least 23 % unemployment.
It was 480 miles each way.
    It was snowing.
We had to cross the high pass to get into Oregon (never fun with snow)
It was December 18th, 1982, a few days before Christmas
The meeting was to take place because the husband wife team had worn the Lose Weight button and carried a clipboard to take names and invite them. Talk about starting with zip!

Even I, the Irish Optimist, was getting somewhat "down" about the last fifty miles of a scary drive, wondering who would show up.

THE ROOM WAS PACKED! A and J had followed up,got on the phones, and filled the room.

We did TWO meetings that evening and this terrific couple qualified for the top position, and several thousand more dollars in sales were made. Bill's wife came to the meeting, joined, and get this.

At age fifty some, working ten miles out in the country, THEIR business having been destroyed, she sold FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH in the next month. January, 1983.

A & J have made many many dollars, as has my good friend and builder , M.

Four lives changed forever, and no one went back to their former business.

    ENTREVISTA A RANDY GAGE

Vuelve a visitarlos!

Solo falta clonarte a ti!
  • I am still recovering from losing my MLM business with a company that I loved passionately. My crime: living in Canada. Quite frankly, I am not sure I am up for starting over. So what am I doing on this list?
Getting a dose of Randy's wonderful mind medicine, that's what! Whatever one does in life, the positive, hopeful mindset of MLM is an enrichment. What if they gave a depression and nobody came? Go, all you dreamers, go!
  • Stella Webber The Netherlands
We just have to proof that NWM is Depression proof! If there will be Depression, I don't know. I really hope not, for millions of people, who are not in NWM ! Not everybody is lucky enough to get involved in our profession.
  • Really strange. I have just done what you said in this interview. I went back to my folder, and I had logged every propspect that had said NO. I decided to do a covering letter and do a major mail out. This time, though, and maybe I am wrong. I put in the letter 'If you require further information then please contact me, and I will call you back'. Now I know that goes against all the rules, as the fortune is in the follow up. Well..If they truely want me to help them build a business...then they can contact me this time around. I have had enough of pussy footing about. You are a great mentor: as you have been at the bottom of the ladder and made good. I admire, and listen to those that have walked the walk and you have done it. One day, maybe, you can be a guest/motivational speaker at one of our conferences in UK. That is on my 'wish list' Thanks for all the help and advice that you give.

  • Thanks so much for putting this information out there... it's great to have some help getting the word out :). Well done (and nice yacht)!
  • Thanks so much for sharing. Great stuff and so true!
  • Hi Randy,

I totally agree with what you are saying and there couldn't be a better time to get into networking marketing. I have been with a few different MLM companies full time for over 15 years and watched some go out of business, others change pay plans, etc.; however about six months ago after the company I was with started changing things I decided to really do my due dilegence and find a solid company that met the critieria I wanted. With the economy in the tank I decided to not attend any pity parties and really be positive about the situation. I found an 8 year old company with outstanding products that was affordable for the average person. In my first six months I have surpassed what I did with my last company in two years, as a matter of fact I am having the best results I have ever had and I have been recruiting a lot more professionals that would never have looked at an MLM company.

There are a lot of companies with good programs and producs but there are also a lot of garbage companies so people need to really check them out. There are no free lunches but if an individuals is teachable and willing to invest the time they can have the best years of their life.
  • "Safe is the new risky" - Randy Gage

    Love that quote!
  • "Communism with lipstick." Wonderful!

I've had the "outrageous" thought that network marketing has more in common with the essential idea of "socialism"— a social system in which the means of producing and distributing goods are owned collectively and political power is exercised by the whole community— than many of us have cared to admit. I'm just toying with the idea... but there's something there.

I'm NOT convinced we are in for a broad-based depression— though many segments of the economy are, but I am certain a radical transformation in the way the world buys and sells everything is here, now and will only continue. Game on for network marketing— pro or no.

Eric, you are continuiing to deliver the kind of material "I" am passionate about learning. Thank you. (And thank RG, too. Objectivists Unite. Take Back the Night 8^)
  • Peter van Andel
I Think our profession will survive any recession or depression. Our fundamentals are about helping other people reach succes and this sends out the karma the world is waiting for right now!! A NEW EARTH is going to be born and networkmarketing is going to be the leading example!

People can't be controlled. You can only control yourself!
  • Peter van Andel
Great to see Randy on the PRO site. He's the master!

Every man alive should see these topics on the changing of the worldeconomy. People have you get conscious that there is no turning back (ever again) for what is going to happen in the near future, and the next couple of years. It is our job as a PRO to get the message out that there is a solution. Networkmarketing!

    Nothing is impossible!

Improvement instead of recession (depression)! ;p
  • Hello Eric,

I just saw your first part with Randy Gage. It is so true !!
Personally I believe that our industry WILL SURVIVE THE Deppression period because of the very NATURE and VALUES it is founded on.
More and more people gonna see the major benefits for them to apply the canges needed to shift themselves to MLM.
Many of them are on the fence crying "It will pass". They are afraid horribly to go out of their comfort zone.
I think that by the end of 2010 our indastry can grow by 20-25%.
This is a HUGE opportunity for us to become PRO (by decision) and help so many others reach their goals for better life.
    WE CAN MAKE HYSTORY !!

You are an inspire to all of us in the industry !!

  • Shai Ashkenazi
    Great stuff!!!
Randy as always love to hear you,
    CHANGE IS GOOD...
  • Hey,

Great show and Randy is absolutely right - we haven't seen half of how bad the recession is about to become - so get ready because in this economy NM duplicates even faster then we can imagine
  • Theonest Bahemuka
Great Randy, with this economing boming, people need a sustainable system that can make them continue with their normal life as nothing had happened. Network marketing is the solution. As long as the world pasist, the Network Marketing will pasist. There is no way the market will be saturated, as such no worries of missing customers, people are born and some die, the ecosystem takes care naturally. All the best and keep it up
  • THIS IS LONG, BUT...

    Gentlemen

Of course we all agree with Randy!

He is a master on our Industry! Would you disagree of a master?

One thing I know: They might try, but no monkey will replace these two gentlemen :)

I see that some of us still have some black clouds upon their heads about the reach to success.

If you want to "see the light", try one of the books available to download on the web both in audio and pdf format.

It's now 3:30AM in Portugal, I just came back from a meeting 300Km away. I was listening for this book while driving. Just couldn't stop listening to it.

I am here writing this comment and so excited because of this divine book, that I am afraid I will not be able to drop my head on a pillow tonight.

This book was proposed on one of the excellent materials Randy developed, so distributors on the network marketing profession would have some help/guidance to build their business.

At the end of the book I had the most explosive emotional reaction I ever experienced in my entire (45Yold) life.

Don't start listening to the book unless you ready to be focused for 5 hours. I MEAN IT! You will not be able to stop listening to it!

I gave this book to a very close friend of mine and at this time is he still listening to it. Like me, he can't stop until he reaches the end!

Having said that, here it is: http://www.greatestnetworker.com/

The author is giving it for free in both formats. He even took the time to read it itself. And there is something about his voice... gosh!

When I see examples like this, I still have faith on human kind.

    Thanks Randy

    And

    Thanks John Fogg

You are deeply changing my life and my friend’s life’s.

    Love you all
    Alfredo Rodrigues
  • Safe is the new risky! WOW! We must renew our minds!
  • Temi
    Great post Eric.

AM still not sure about this results based driven economy, it will distort alot of things for business as well not just employees. I do believe what Randy said about Technology erasing jobs.
This will be a new economy coming ahead of us, we will just have to keep to the same philisophy of always giving value unto others and the rest will take care of itself
  • Pedro Lugo Hernandez
Can wait to see the complete interview with Randy.
  • Excellent stuff, I agree with you 100%, we are in a deep depression :~(
  • Troy Vineyard
Well said Randy Gage, Well said indeed !
  • Ever evolving and extremely creative energy manifestations are we being presented to, disregarding the form of it, find the one that has the same wave of your dreams.
All the best to both and thanks.
  • Dan Duckworth
This is not meant in any way to be snide or cynical.

Where do you foresee the customers coming from in the future?

    Example:
Today you have a good network marketing business with a product of value. 90% of your neighbors on your block are your customers (we should all be so lucky) and a few are even working at building their own network marketing business.

Fast forward 10 years to the new economic order and the depression. 90% of your neighbors are bankrupt. One of them even puts on a suit and goes to the freeway off ramp to display a sign that says, "Will work for food."

You're still with a good company, still with a good product or service. You know that historically in times of recession the network marketing industry has grown. But there is not much historical precedent for how network marketing might fare in a worldwide depression. So, what are your thoughts on the question, "who will be the customers?"

Perhaps the answer is "Who Knows?" Perhaps it will be those who work in the jobs that haven't even been invented yet. Will monkeys and clones need lotions, potions and mango-rooney juice? Kidding aside (let's not lose our sense of humor), what are your thoughts!

    Thanx
  • Hi Randy And Erik

Agree…the world is changing quickly and drastically.

  • I agree with you 100 % Randy-----Buy Gold, buy Silver..and other commodities... buy RJI and get in a good Network Marketing Co. - you’ll be glad you did! Network Marketing can be an Oasis in a desert of dishonesty & mistrust!! Pat from New York - www.myvemma.com/pbruni
  • Hi Randy, I agree with you 100% , The banks are reporting phony 1st quarter profit numbers. There's no transparency yet. How much do they really have of these bad loans on the books. Credit default swaps..total how much? The banks want to pay off TARP $$$ so no one can look under the rug! very fishy... It stinks! And we foot the bill for All of it. The crooks that caused all of this are still in the system. No accountability, No arrests!! The rest of the world doesn't trust us. The rating agencies give A and AAA credit ratings to lousy Mort. bonds. No investigation there. It all stinks!! But hey, they got Madoff after the SEC was alerted to him since 2001. So.... great job there! There are No Free lunches... and now we all must pay the piper. Unless you have a Golden parachute.;-).. Buy Gold, buy Silver..and other commodities... buy RJI & get in a good Network Marketing Co. - you'll be glad you did! Network Marketing can be an Oasis in a desert of dishonesty & mistrust!! from New York (the Rip-Off State.;-) State!) .;-)

  • Great information! We are really in a changing economy and Network Marketing continues to be a great way to design one's lifestyle.
  • Scary information for some insightful for others
  • billrogers
Great topic. reinforces the old adage "it it is to be, it is up to me"
    Looking forward to more!
  • Although I consider networking marketing to be more of a tool or a vehicle and not some magical cure, studies indicate that the network marketing business model is more viable now than ever before. The industry is poised for growth despite a global recession / depression. That being said network marketing by itself is only a small metric by which to measure an overall opportunity. I like to think of it as a delivery system like a truck. If you are selling a poor product or service you cannot hope to succeed regardless of the network marketing component. To blindly advocate "everyone jump on the network marketing bandwagon" and thereby prejudge other business models is not sound economic advice. I guess it's possible to agree and disagree to a minor degree. :)
  • I really enjoyed the show today with Randy Gage and I believe he's right on target. Instead of waiting for Gov't handouts, somebody has to pay that back, take charge of your life and find the right company and team to work with.
  • Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I had to give up my "in the world" job because of severe pain due to post-polio syndrome. However, I can do Network Marketing and am I ever excited!
Again, thank you Eric for bringing Randy to us. Thank you Randy for sharing your expertise with us.
    Jan
  • I have learned much from you both and I thank you. Great video and insights on change, which we all need to be more aware of now more than ever!! Looking forward to the next videos.
  • Eric and Randy, change being the essential process for all existence, same old/same old, and doing business as usual in these challenging and changing times will only leave its victims in the dust as casualties. The cradle to the grave mentality will no longer be tolerated in any business. Job security will be based on performance. The only decision remaining is are you going to perform for yourself or for someone else's profits. A monkey is as a monkey does in any inherent limitations. It's contingent upon human ingenuity to change the odds.
  • Great show guys.
Randy is absolutely right about the future. Who knows how long our typical "jobs" will be around or until we get replaced by monkeys, robots, or clones!
Network Marketing is a viable business model in the uncertain future. Now is the time to start (or continue) to build it.
  • Thanks guys....you have been mentors to both my wife and I, and we enjoy your insights....if I am cloned it will be of someone who is a professional network marketer.....
  • So refreshing to hear Randy Gage`s views on the new economy!

"The only Constant in Life is Change"....and we have to keep our eyes open to adapt to the changes coming our way. The best thing to be doing right now, if you see what`s happening, is to do exactly what Randy recommends.
  • I agree 100%....I'm pumped up more than ever now...Way to go and keep up the awesome work you guys do 24/7......let's help one billion people become Network Marketing Professionals..It's on Now!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • Great information! Randy you are spot on, I couldn't agree more. I think the key to success nowadays is to become self sufficient and keep a strong mental attitude. A job used to stand for just over broke, now it stands for definition of insanity.
  • OLIVIA REINOSA MEXICO
Hi Eric, great stuff. Randy's idea "safe is the new risky" is completely true!!! we can not continue doing the same things and the same actions if we are living in a different world. Although I dont´t like the idea of human clones , I agree with Trish Walsh that MLM industry is about a type of cloning or copying our success and activities in al lot of people.
  • Eric and Randy,
Excellent!! I could not agree more. This is (again) a cnfirmation for me, that I am at the right place, at the right time!! Great motivation! I'll make sure that everybody I know listens to your interviews. Maybe some more people will 'get it'!!!
Hey, maybe next year, I'll be with you on that yacht, and do interviews!! LOL
Thanks for another great interview, and I am looking forward to the rest f the 'Gage Week'!!

  • Trish Walsh Lake Worth, FL
Safe is the new Risky! love it... Speaking of clones that is when we know we have been successful in this industry when we clone ourselves...
  • I agree with what Randy is saying here about the new economy. If you look at history, a depression happens about once every 75 years, so I think we are there right about now. In addition, people aren't going to have any choice but to start their own business because of the heavy competition for jobs. My wife is a contract specialist for a government laboratory. Her boss was telling her that he's got attorney's with 20 years of experience applying for her job.

I like Randy's point..."safe is the new risky."
  • Agree. Love the point: what was considerd safe is the new risky.

Network Marketing is a life raft for the masses and gives the average person the opportunity to participate in profits.
