Success Formula: "Lead a large group of people to consistently do a few simple actions over a sustained period of time."

I'm gonna print this and post it everywhere in the house. Cause that's it, that's the formula. I love it.

    Thanks Eric and Randy!

One of my Defining Moments..... Listening to Mr Todd Smith (hook, link and sinker)
  • Hello Eric, Hello Randy,

great session. It's all about duplcation !! It doesn't matter if it works as long as it duplicates !!!
and also as the internet marketing develops widely - i believe it can be hard for certain people who are not so familiar with all that computer stuff - and very easy for those who ARE.
one can end up doing both - AS LONG AS IT DUPLICATES !!

    take care,

I've had many. But I remember my first one, the day I was first introduced to MLM by a Canadian leader.

I was over 50, had a good life, University degree, husband, grown kids, nice house and great business. Due to circumstances we'd lost our business and all I could do was sulk and complain. I really didn't think there was anything I could do but wait for things to calm down so I could re-establish my business or.... go on social welfare.

The concept of network marketing, wellness, personal development which came my way at that moment, caused a complete paradigm shift in the way I see the world. I'm aware of my thoughts - replacing negative by positive. I'm aware that nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it, develop a positive failure-no-option attitude, and take action.

But more than anything else - I now understand that no matter where you are in life - there's always a whole new world of opportunity, happiness and love out there - so never give up and never quit.

Also a defining moment for me was, when I planned my Grand Opening PBR at home, together with my sponsor, both should bring in 10 or 15 people. I invited 18 people. Didn't get contact with my sponsor the week before the Grand Opening. Wanted to know how many people he had and how to do everything properly.
Well, 2 p.m. when the meeting should start, there was ONE guest of me and NOT my sponsor and no guests of my sponsor. Could still not reach him to ask about it.

But, I did the entire PBR/Opening myself with the only guest and it really went well! I was so proud of myself. Although this wasn't meant as a gift for me, it certainly feels like one! Now i know I can do this myself, on my own. Great!
  • Forgot to mention one of my defining moments. One day I was in the hallway with the president of a corporation and a sudden burst of boldness hit me. I asked him to come and be a speaker at an event I was hosting. To my surprise he came and from that moment, 8 years of my life were so positively impacted to the good that it's seems like a dream. He became a quasi sponsor to me and sort of endorsed me. There were so many doors open because just because of our acquaintance.

I was the same guy I had always been. The only thing that changed was a "new friend" who was looking to help somebody and that somebody was me.

    I'll never forget the moment.

  • Loved to hear Randy share his defining moment about the bum long distance meeting. Most people would have taken to be a failure. Taking the time to make it an instructional moment made it memorable for him and hopefully the guy who got 10,000 fliers out to promote the meeting.

    Keep it coming Eric.

My most recent training I attended even though it was designed for a rank that I was not yet qualified for I was asked time and again about my rank. Everyone who asked had marked me as a rank even higher than what was required. I began to realize that my posture was equal to and above the qualifying rank and I was only showing that to my team members - not to the world. I've applied that since returning home. I've had an immediate and permanent posture correction. I'm experiencing the results and accepting the results! Thanks Eric. We'll be seeing the tangible results soon.

  • I too learned from Randy G in Vegas at the Mega-MLM event and his training has kicked a major turning point in my business. Although these videos are nothing like seeing him in person, the momentum has begun! I think the biggest turning point for me is to communicate in a way for others to really know how much I truly believe in this profession.
  • I think we have all had some "Secret Meeting"! They are such a learning experience...

Great Info from Gage! Your energy rocks! Looking fwd to meeting you and Eric here soon...

One of my moments was when I hosted my first N.Mkt company's tour that went through Dallas. I was standing in front of 350 people, introducing the Heads of the company and I realized that I was not even a diamond and the company trusted me to host & fill the room & our team did it! it was one of the most wonderful feeling in the world...

So many more & many more to come!

    Thank you for this forum...
  • Definitely you both guys are great!!!!

I was with Randy in Vegas for the Mega-MLM last year and had very profitable training with both of you in the course of the last year.

Keep going Eric, this is a very valuable tool for us the Network Marketing Pros around the world. Thank you for helping others becoming PRO.

It is so comforting to know that the frustrations we go through have been experienced by the best in the industry. You give us the confidence that if we follow the system and abide by your guidance, we absolutely will achieve our goals in this industry. Eric, you are providing the absolute best motivation mechanism out there for motivating us by bringing to us the insights of professionals such as Randy Gage. Thank you so much!!!
  • It's good to hear that these things happen to us all, but the key is to keep going!!
That is what separates Professionals out.

    Thanks for sharing.

I am just loving networkmarketingpro. Have been there since day one. Have become a student of the industry and my mind has become like a sponge.

    Well done.
  • My defining moment was driving to a city 300 km from where we lived, to do 2 nights of live presentations. I had attended school there for 1 week before dropping out and pursuring my career as a network marketing professional. My sponsor and I had called all 10 people we knew in the city to come out. We thought if we did 2 nights, we could draw more people. We even spent the day handing out flyers around campus. 7 pm came and went on Day 1 - nobody showed up. 7 pm came and went on Day 2 - nobody showed up. We drove home in a blizzard, in my unreliable car, and counted our blessings. I figured it couldn't get any worse than that!
  • Defining moments are always some kind of breakthrough in my opinion. I know from personal experience and listening to others each one is preceded by a breakdown. The willingness to fly to Indiana on a hope and a prayer for a meeting of one, a breakdown for anyone. Giving the meeting produced the breakthrough. One way to create breakthroughs, at least in the beginning is allow yourself to have huge breakdowns. Promise an impossible number for you to happen and look for where the breakdowns occur. IF, big if, you will go through to the other side, give the meeting anyway, breakthroughs, defining moments always occur. Thank you Eric and Randy for being two people I can model my behavior after.

My most recent defining moment was when I finally realized that I would never make it in this industry if I didn't change my negative attitude! Noone wants to get into a relationahip with a negative person!
  • Valentin Zamfir
Another defining moment for me was when i meet Randy Gage in person and i saw that he is real:).
  • Jorge Bessudo
First moment, I got into a hotel room presentation and the presenter was a guy who talked so fast in English he was barely understood by our Spanish speaking audience, and he still got results. I thought, "I can do this better than this guy"

Second moment, The same guy drops out of our opportunity into another one; I felt cheated, and at the same time decided this only demonstrated my initial thought were correct, "I was already better than him, since I did not quit"

Third moment. It hurts, but I recognize I do not (YET) have the skills I need to do the business right, but I am not quitting, I will get there

    And so will anyone who

    a) Does not quit and
    b) Can be self critical in a positive way

Thanks Eric, for this great learning tool
  • Hey all,

Thanks for the nice comments. Would love to see you all sharing your defining moments with the community.

It's sooooo great to hear Randy Gage talk about giving a meeting to 1 person, No one ever thinks the people who make it ever had to start at the bottom. I meet up with my small but STRONG team every Tuesday, and after watching your video last week, we started to remember about how we started looking for people to join us.(7yrs ago) We were so passionate about the product's , but soooo green, and had no idea about N.Mk. As we looked back at some of the things we did, we laughed until there was no more tears left Well we are still around Now with the help of the inter net more, and more great people are coming into our lives showing us the way, and thank you for your great contribution. I believe it's our vision' and our passion that gives us the will to go on. Yes we will survive and reach our mountain top!
  • i'm proud to say that i've done an opportunity meeting with no one else in the room at all... nobody came, not even the couple biz partners I was working with. But I did the presentation to an empty room anyway and was proud of the experiance. I figure it is part of the process of becoming one of the top leaders in this industry.

a phrase a mentor gave me when I started my real estate career and is applicable here too: Do For Five Years What Others Won't, And Do For The Rest Of Your Life What Others Can't

Looking forward to tomorrows show with Randy
  • Your story reminded me of my own "meeting for one" where I sponsored a friend from college, who then set up a community room and invited a whole bunch of people. No one came, and I did the meeting for him. I actually didn't even think to be training him- I just did the presentation again!

He quit later on, but I kept going too.

Now I've sworn off of stuff that I don't see that other people can do with effectiveness. A lot of people THINK home meetings duplicate, but they don't- that time has passed in my experience. Some people say different, but you'll never get me to do any again, and I will never tell someone else to do one either.
  • Awesome video! I'm impressed that Randy actually still came out when he found out that the guy was banking the whole meeting on 10,000 flyers!

Great!! Reinforces ones priorities to be profesional and stay focused.
    Keep it moving forward Eric!!

Great Stuff G and W! Keep it coming.

  • Hi my two selected mentors (non negotiable). I've chosen you and I am learning and becoming Pro through you.

I love defining moments too and, after 37 shows (congrats!!) I confirm that we all have some kind of common points in our personal histories. Randy showed him self he was determined to do something and he went there to do it, so he did it...

Since a beginner point of view I realize that THERE IS NO NEW MISTAKES BUT NEW POPLE MAKING THE OLD-WELL-KNOWN mistakes... I've sponsored some people like this guy in Randy's example and found myself making the whole presentation for two of us (the guy and myself).

    Thanks.
  • We're always looking for THE magic bullet, the Golden Key, that ONE thing which if it's missing... we struggle, but if it's in there (like Prego) success is inevitable and only a matter of time and consistent effort (NOT massive, just consistent).

The people who say THAT doesn't exist are wrong. It does. It's CULTURE, a culture of leadership that offers replicatable direction, guidence, encouragement, support, training and recognition. Gage knows that. I'd say his #1 "Defining Moment" was when he got the vital make-or-break necessity of creating a culture of success.

    Great stuff. EJ. Thank you.

Jim Rohn said it best when he said "...discipline your dissapointments." It's on us to feed the dream, nurtutre the dream, even heal it when it's been hurt. Next!
  • No wonder Randy Gage is known as a legend in this business. In success or failure he has a positive, inspiring constructive message for all. Thanks so much for this series.
