But we need to do the job first :) Job first, safari later :)
  • Alfie
For the many videos that I watched here, Eric is travelling on different parts of the world. I guess that's the kind of life waiting for Network Marketing Professionals.

    What a wonderful world.
  • FrankMarshman
    Thanks a lot!!!
  • What am I doing today?

Thinking about the Phuket beaches :)

I have never done the elephant safari though.

Something to consider on my next trip.
  • Doris Bloch
It's all about our "state of MIND REVOLUTION"!
Thank you Eric, for show us the way!
  • Fred, Fred, Fred, you've been scammed. Not by professionals. Please take responsibility for your actions if you got sucked into one of these. I did not believe in Net. Mktg. But I did my due diligence in researching the company, looking at the financials etc. And yes - the company I chose has made Forbes magazine, we are publicly traded on the NYSE. I'm not going to get rich fast. I will get rich on my own merits and my hard work. This profession does work! But you have to do your due diligence with a company and not get swept up in hype and emotion.
  • All I can say is Really Cool! Wish I was there with you! Part of this business is patience too I'm guessing..LOL Have a safe trip and come back healthy and relaxed.
  • Hello Fred,

I spent the last half hour to read all the coments here folowing Eric's video.
I'd like to share with you my story. I'll try to make it short.
I was introduced to this industry 6 years ago in a very well known (one of the giants..) company.
I knew nothing on the industry, on the concept, on the possibility to produce such lifestyle by us - all the common people.
I was dazzeld by it and signed in with a considerable 5000$ investment and NO SKILLS at all.
I stayed for 9 month's recruiting ZERO prospects but LOVED the products (using some of them even today). I olso liked my first self-development steps for it is required in my opinion to pass through our standard thought of getting rich etc.
The second company was another known giant (and no left opportunity) and I use their products today as well. I sponsered ZERO people there as well. BUT I BELEIVE IN THE INDUSTRY !
It took me 3 more smaller companies to find the big next giant and i joined it for the first time in march 2005 only to discover that i was too afraid to loose again. so i left it. BUT THE BUG OF MLM KEPT BUGGING...
That company opened officialy 6 month later in 10 countries at the same day inclooding our small country (historicaly for the first time ever). And with my set of beliefs and mindset - Fred - it took me 2 more years to join THAT company AGAIN !!!
Why I joined it again ? because I realized that i BELIEVE in the industry and as Eric stated: This is too a hard work that can be VERY REWORDING.
And one last thing Fred: In a regular JOB you hope to live long enogh to retire healthy after working 40 years for someone else (and don't get fiered..) so you can live the rest of your life with your retirement money and only then - maybe - achieve your dream.
DO YOU HAVE A DREAM FRED ? ANY DREAM ? I DO. working hard in this industry for 5-10 years could get me to my dream. and i'm working for myself, happily because i love myself and deserve the life I want to live. This is not an industry to stay for some months and leave. IT IS A JOURNEY FOR A LONG DISTANCE - A MARATHON - AND I AM HERE TO STAY.
By the way - my earnings today with this wonderfull company are still very low but again - I BELIEVE..

Hope I showed you something different. All the best of luck, Fred.

    Gaby Di-Capua, Israel.

  • Eric,

Borrowing from Randy Gage: You know I love you...but, I have always felt a bit uncomfortable with extravagant life-style pies in the sky that so few of us ever really achieve as viable motivators. In fact, I'm willing to guess that the huge dissonance between an elephant ride in Phuket and the hurt and tension that so many are feeling in these days of economic insecurity prompted Fred to pay us a visit and voice the stigmatized profile that we - under your initiative and leadership - are working to change.

So, with all due respect, I think this chapter is untimely and incongruous with the mission NetworkMarketingPro, even if you did have a fabulous time, which I know you did. -:)
  • Eric,

You are living the good life my friend. You're an inspiration for all of us, to persist and create the lifestyle of our dreams. Have a great trip!

  • Kevin Jones
    Fred,

Thank you for spending the time to voice your thoughts, your voice is appreciated. This business is hard and having owned traditional businesses I can say, they were hard as well- in fact harder. I was responsible for all my employees and their families which is stressful. In NWM, each person is responsible for themself, NWM can help people add to their income which in todays economic conditions, a few hundred dollars a month can be the difference of making it and not making it. Are there bad companies and bad people in this industry absolutely, however some of the most amazing people I have met and had the honor of working with have come from my time in NWM. For me, more than the money or the dreams, it is the type of people I have met through this business is the best reward. I have learned lessons from these individuals that have helped me and my family in my everyday life. I try to teach my children you can view the negatives or the positives and the choice is theirs- and to teach them it feels better to view the positives.
Isn't that what life is really about is feeling good?
Again thanks for your time, I hope you have a great day and find whatever makes you feel good whether that is a successful carreer with a great company or your own business venture- either way enjoy it -I recently learned how short life is, " no one will get out of here alive, so we might as well have a good time while we are here"

    Kevin
  • ez2win
Yes, this is one of the things you can do when YOU DECIDE. Better to rock on an elephant out of choice than to let life rock you where you are powerless.

This is what happens to people who have jobs: life decides for them - they do not have the power to choose because they're IN THE BOX. MLM shows you a way out of the box. We need to educate them. If they choose network marketing they'll forever have a better life - and we'll feel great for having helped.
  • This is really a great video, it shows exactly the diffrence between working a 9 to 5 job and working network marketing - and Eric, I love your final statement - what are you doing today? Someone is riding an elephant - others go to a job they hate :)
  • Terre Johnson / Northern Calif
wow what a variety of responses! well done, Eric. You are a true gentleman. and you ride that elephant like a pro - a network marketing pro!
  • Eric C
After seeing Comment #14 , in hindsight, I could understand how and why this particular video segment could conjure up negative experiences attached to the hype that non-pro MLM'ers have and are still using to entice people to join their particular MLM business. No, the segment itself was not "hypey", but through the jaded glasses of someone who quit network marketing because of a bad experience, they would have perceived this segment as full of false promises.
Notwithstanding, it took me over 8 years in the business to finally see a 5-figure monthly commision cheque. And the 8 years were full of unimaginable challenges. However, looking back, these were really blessings which helped to understand a little more about the human condition. Today, the lessons have helped me to understand the people in my organization and what they're going through.
Thanks Eric Worre for promoting the professionalism that should be in the network marketing profession!
  • HI,
Nice vid on the elephant Eric, As you may know I live in Thailand all the time, I have emigrated here from Europe, I had a JOB in Europe but now do work full time on the Internet. If I did not do that I would be doing a 9-5 somewhere.. Having your own business online gives you great options. There is alot of get rich schemes out there for sure. But do ya DD, Go with a reputable company and go for your dreams.

    Russell Birtwistle
  • Dear Fred I agree with Eric 150% I just believe, we all make our life choices and how we want to live it. I am in the Hospitality business for 40 years. I was the General Manager in a 5 star Hotel in phuket for two years I played golf every day played with elephants every week, sailed on our company yacht frequently and on and on. So I actually (even today) I enjoy a lifestyle most people dream off,BUT and here it, is when I stop working I have no income,so I decided to try Network Marketing (NM). We (my wife and I) doing it now for two years and we look forward that by the end of this year our income will replace my working income and I will stop working I still will be able to live the same lifestyle I have now, thanks to NM and people like ERIC and RANDY GAGE. They make millions who cares they worked there Ass off for it as Eric said and if you are willing to do so, ANYBODY can achieve this. The problem is most of us dont have the will and staying power to go the extra mile and give up. Fred the last two years have given me more pleasure and knowledge than the last forty years. Yes I can Manage luxury Hotels but life is something different. I could go on and on but no time and space and as somebody wrote earlier, show me something better than NM I will listen but there is nothing......
    cheers
Franz and I am proud to be in Network Marketing
  • Hey Fred,

Apologies are never required and I'm glad you're here bringing your opinions. First of all, I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU that it takes a solid work ethic in order to build any lasting business. That's true in Network Marketing and it's true everywhere else. The days of unrealistic income projections, impossible expectations, crazy product claims and a basic "lottery mentality" approach should have been wiped out of our professional a long time ago. Sadly, many people still cling to that tired old approach.

But Fred here are some objective facts for you... The Network Marketing Profession does approximately $120 Billion dollars a year in sales, it's grown 19 out of the last 20 years, it operates in 100 countries around the world and 67 million people have some sort of connection to one of the hundreds of companies involved. We are highly regulated through the Direct Selling Association. AND, to your point of earnings, commissions are paid annually in the neighborhood of $50 Billion dollars.

As for me, I am actually one of the people who earn more than a million a year in commissions. You know how I did it? By working my ass off for many years, developing a set of skills and then teaching that set of skills to others. Just like you say, an honest day's work... or in my case, an honest 20 years worth of work.

I started this site on March 11th and part of what I want to do is introduce the world to the many people who earn over a million dollars a year in this profession and have them share what it took to get there. If you go back and check some of them out, you'll see that they have a lot in common and ALMOST NOTHING in common with the people who pitched you on some "opportunity".

In any case, I'm really glad you decided to post here and please don't let everyone's enthusiasm in responding make you feel defensive in any way. I LIKE that you're a critical thinker and I LIKE that you've seen the bad side of our profession for what it is... something that needs to change!

    Thanks again my friend,

    Eric Worre

I do not deny that it takes a lot of work to be successful network marketer. It takes a lot of work to be good at any job you do and to truly "live your dream" I do agree with Fred though. It is "marketed" as a get rich quick scheme and people get sucked in with their last $1500 hoping to turn it into millions which is very unlikely to happen.
In response to Laurynas, Network Marketing is NOT a profession. A profession is a vocation founded upon specialized educational training, the purpose of which is to supply disinterested counsel and service to others, for a direct and definite compensation, wholly apart from expectation of other business gain Professions are distinguished from other occupations represented by trade groups due to their level of legal recognition. Professionals are regulated by a licensing body, they take and maintain a particular code of ethics and are bound by legal acts, bills and documents. Network marketers are none of the above things.
Network marketers are neither entrepreneurs. A true entrepreneur develops and nurses their own idea. Network marketers are selling someone elses product. Perhaps the first creator of a network marketing scheme was an entrepreneur, but alas, none of the followers can claim that as their own.

    Get real people
    Jen
  • chipmacgill
You've got it part right Jen. I do know how you feel. But Get "Real" People is your key phrase, like Eric always says their are a "lot" of misguided and misrepresenting people out there pitching deals, good deals and bad deals. Even a good deal/product can be pitched incorrectly (think Amway) great company, some unscrupulous reps though. Every company has a few, sorry you and Fred have seemed to catch the bulk.

    Also you've got this part wrong. The definition of entrepreneurs;

    noun
    1. a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, esp. a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk.
    2. an employer of productive labor; contractor.

    Good luck in future endeavors.

Best of luck with any NM scam. One day you will realize that anything that makes people a lot of money requires years of hard work, and a solid plan. Investing $1500.00 and hoping that wealth will transpire is unrealistic. Watching the NM promo videos is entertaining, because they are preposterous!! I have never heard of a network marketer making the Forbes list, yet NM continues to make claims of grandiose wealth. The day I have objective proof that a NM company has allowed it's pawns to make more than working an honest day I will apologize...
  • chipmacgill
Great comments here, FYI Fred, I think Art Williams is on Forbes numerous years in row. Now you may debate that he is an MLM'r and just a plain ol' southern boy insurance sales person. But I think most of us would consider him, an MLM super success story.

Also, I have worked in the MLM/Direct Sales industry for almost 15 years, and have made money, real money every year. My main income though has been the Real Estate industry, multi-six figure earner the past 10 years, until 2007. Never counted on my MLM money, wow am I glad I have always had a plan B. But I have worked harder to achieve results in the MLM industry, but ya know what? There is very little passive, residual or reoccurring income in RE sales, and when selling RE in the Hay Day years, I barely had time to ride my bike, let alone go somewhere for "business" and ride an elephant.

I think I need to recruit more, that's where my effort is going, that's why I am on Eric's site. More skills, that is what it takes. Tell the story, tell it often...make sure it is the truth, (I always do.)

    Good luck in your future,
    Chip
  • Laurynas L. (Ireland)
    Hey everyone.
Network Marketing I think is grate profession and I don't care what sceptics says about it.
One day I'll be Network Marketing Professional just like you Mr Eric.
  • Marina
    Hi, Fred
I completely agree with Jeremy! There are a lot of bad companies as a lot of different people. It is your choice with whom have relations and with which company to stay. But Network Marketing is a really HARD work. And everyone need to spend a lot of time, passion and skills to become successful in this industry. It is more easy to say that the company was bad, product was bad, prospects don't want to hear and enjoy the business, but maybe that people who didn't have their success in this industry made some mistakes or didn't have their belief that it will work?! It is really not a lottery!!! But if you are with the right company, with a good product and marketing plan, if you want to learn how build this business in the right way, with your total belief and passion, you can change your life! Do you have a dream? Do you know what you need to do, to make its true? Show me the better opportunity!
  • Living the dream Lifestyle of a NM PRO... I wonder how many of us have actually written down the top 25,50 or 100 things they dream of doing in their lifetime... If Not, I challenge everyone to write their top 10 and post it here.
  • Jeremy
Fred, Im sure you have reasons to be bias. the people you mention most likely were not serious about treating their business like they would need to succeed. They may have been in a bad company or maybe they themselves just did not know how to run a business. However, there are just as many bad companies in corporate america and the rest of the world. there are also great ethical companies in both the corporate respect and the networking industry. If you pick a company with an ethical management team and products that you actually believe in, then decide to learn how to WORK your business, you very realistically can make a very good living. the key thing is that you have to WORK. this is not a lottery or a get rich quick scheme. the upside is that if you learn the skills to be successful and put in the mandatory work, you can reach an income that would be very hard for the average person to reach in a corporate setting or a traditional business. virtually nothing in the life comes for free and this is true with success in this industry. If you have a better alternative to create the incomes possible in the amount of time as in NM I am all ears, but until i see or am shown a better alternative I will hold strong that NM is the best option for the average person who wishes to own their own business.
  • Elephant checks = Elephant rides!

    Right on!
  • Hello, Fred!
I will not jump in this discussion to convince You about the opportunity NM offers.
I just will pick one argument You have stated:
"Well the company they once were selling has now disappeared and they DID NOT even make there money back ..."
Yes, it's true - things like that happen.
But do You know for example, that life insurances are big business - in Europe as well as in the US.
When people close their insurance contracts, they are promised that they will get a certain amount of money in 25 or 30 years - to have a good life without any financial worries. All they have to do is paying their monthly rates to their insurance companies.
Did You notice what happened during the last decade?
Many insurance companies got in trouble and had to file for bankruptcy.
The money, promised to the people, was gone with the company. Money, people had paid for year by year.
When You start a new business - any kind of business - there is a great chance, that Your bussiness will not survive it's first 3 years. And yes, Your investment in Your business might be lost too.
Our society and our economy depend on people who have the guts it takes, to become an entrepreneur.
Some of them will make it - many of them will not!
Well, I really feel very sorry for all that people who failed - but sometimes this is the prize we have to pay for a free society with a free economy. Things like that happen - and they still will.

The only system that promises protection against such losses is communism!

    The choice is Yours!
  • Fred Marshal
I have been approached by different people throughout the years with the same claim usually small investments are required to but a product kit. The products are break through technology the company has been around for years tried tested and true. The common denominator in there business plan for network marketing has been young people appearing to have tons of money usually owning fancy sports cars, probably rented, usually very little practical business plans excluding how many vacations they now are on, and how many toys they now have. As far as the videos go you can say whatever you want videos are subjective usually in the favor of the creator. In your defense it may be a good time for you to get people interested in network marketing, as many people are in a tough place right now and it sure sounds great, Limited amount of work great returns a lifestyle people dream of. But getting back to the people that have approached me though the years and how the are now doing with there ventures. Well the company they once were selling has now disappeared and they DID NOT even make there money back they are far from millionaires but are still looking for the next big break. Which brings me here maybe this is there next big break but I will take my chances that its not. The wealthy people of the world, come up with an idea of there own they struggle to make it for years then when it finally takes off they still don't live the lifestyle that are being sold here. They are are up at 4 and work till 10 they may have millions in the bank, but are not jet setting around the world unless it is business. WEALTH is created by work, work and Hrs go hand and hand. Instead of your videos I would love to see all the people involved in Network Marketings Income tax returns that are not changed by photoshop. Then I may change my opinion.
    Fred
  • Thanks Eric for being willing to allow the "Fred's" of the world their say. The numbers with MLM are much better and no worse than any other industry when anyone looks at the numbers. Even "FRED" acknowledges that biz's fail. Some people, 70% by my calculations, won't do what is takes to fail or succeed. They live in the stands of life complaining about the umpires, the players or the lighting. They don't even buy a hot dog! Recently I saw that 90% of all businesses fail (quit/close their doors) in less than 3 years. Of the 10 who are succeeding, 7 of the 10 are run by people who failed (quit) on a previous attempt. Another way to say it, is each failure gives you 2.33x (233%) more likelihood at success on your next attempt. (that is 7 divided by 3) Yes 3% are in the right place, at the right time, with the right amount of everything to succeed on their first attempt. The rest of us have a different adventure. Everyone can be successful, even Fred.
  • mrmauriocrawford
    Wow Mr. Eisbrener. I like.
  • Mary Avilla - Santa Rosa, CA
    I agree with Howard...

Eric, Thanks for the continued inspiration and daily dose of "get your butt in gear"! Love It!
  • What a great line - "That's what we're doing, what are you doing today?" You really put a smile on my face with that one!
  • Normand Halvorsen
when where you in phuket? I was there in jun 2008, had a great time there. But i had some episode in the jungle:) I was going to a toilet and as i was starting to roll out the toilet paper a spider was sitting on it. i mean a bad looking one.
I jumpt up started to run against the door. But the door would not open. I totaly freekt out, got out and did run to the car. lol
Most funny was a woman who got a snake on her head during the Elephant Safari, lucky she had a big hat. Now this woman had a little trauma, but in the end it became a fun story.

Brunei was realy cool, go there one day. Networkmarketing rock
  • Tanya C
I see. MLM is not only non-traditional business but also non-traditional vaction.
  • Love this video...It is the exact dream we are all working towards. Thank you for sharing.
  • Hey Eric,

I have seen this video before somewhere.

You make life look very exciting. Maybe someday.
  • Fred,

Welcome to the discussion! I'm so glad you were willing to share your thoughts and no, I will not delete your message. What specifically do you NOT like about Network Marketing? I'd love to continue the conversation with you.

If you look back on previous shows, I think you'll see the opposite of what you posted. I advocate hard work in order create the lifestyle that Network Marketing can bring and I HATE the "get rich quick, something for nothing hype".

    Looking forward to the discussion.

    Eric
  • Not sure that elephant riding would be my preference, but it`s good to have options!!!
  • Network Marketing Rocks!!...Eric someday Im going to be just like you enjoying the freedom & lifestyle this industry has ...until then ...what am i doing today ? building up my non traditional business from ECUADOR- SOUTHAMERICA...kepp up the great work
  • Fred Marshal
What a load of crap anybody that buys into this needs to give there head a shake I imagine the web host will not display my message but worth a try. Trying to save some people $1500 that you need for a product pack, that these pyramid schemes oh I mean network marketing require. They set it at $1500 or so give or take a few hundred because when you loose you investment you will just say Its only $1500 dollars your not going to take legal action. The moral of the story is if it sounds to good to be true it usually is. Times like these where real company's are in receivership based on loss of consumer demand for there product what makes these network marketers so good at sales it is just based on there $1500 memberships once no on signs up then the fold it up and start a new one. If you have not dreamed up the scheme and have heard about it on the internet or this link you are to late to make your millions hopefully the legal system can work through the loop holes that the new pyramid schemes have now turn into. Because of network marketing and the freedom it gives me, I'm home today relaxing with a sick baby.

I've cleared my schedule and changed one appointment to a phone call instead so I can spend the day cuddling him and comforting him, while continuing to grow my business.

Although we're not "riding elephants," he's got an elephant on his pj's this morning. :-)

    Heather Stephens
  • WOW Eric when I said don't hurry back to Minnesota, I had NO idea that you would take me so literally and go ride elephants! What a cool segue and a grand adventure-another exotic adventure to add to my ever lengthening list to "Must Do's before I leave this earth...! Thank -you for raising the bar and what a grand way to start each and every day! Suggested every person on my team who wants to go PRO register immediately for your sage tips!
