I have been a firm believer in the bussiness of personal growth for a long time but since I have been involved with network marketing, I have been introduced to so many new tools such as Success magazine.   • It is so true that people stay because of the people in their organization. Great interviews. Someone from the "outside" of NM sharing the same concepts. Can't wait for what is next.
  • I had the good fortune to be on Darren's team once upon a time. I went to his business overviews for The Peoples' Network and came to hear him speak many, many times. Since the advent of Social Networking, I have reconnected with him beyond email. This is the first time in many years I have been able to hear him speak and watch him in an interview, rather than just reading words. It was wonderful.

    Darren embodies beautifully what it means to be 'a product of the product'. The phrase that I learned from him long ago is something that I used myself just today, in connection with the training, fund-raising and promotion I am doing around the upcoming Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. It is "surrender to purpose".

    Thank you Eric, for having Darren on the show, and thank you Darren, for for emphasizing such an important point in this interview.

    It's all about actually selling yourself. Make's sense. All the rest (products, company, comp. plan etc) is just in the way.
    Now - is the number of 67,000,000 doing NM going to multiply itself after watching this remarkable interview? I beleive it will. Definately !!

    I know I am a day late in watching this, but this episode resonated with me because I have been saying lately that even if I don't make a cent, the personal development I have gained (and I am a geriatric in age but a baby in network marketing) has been priceless. I call it the unexpected byproduct of joining this profession, not realizing that this is really the forefront of the business.

  • Awesome as usual, just realizing that what we`re selling is ourselves is the realization of the day!
  • I loved the "is not what you need to learn, but rather what you need to unlearn" absolutely true.

    A few weeks backl a wrote on my blog, that if I bumped into myself 10 years ago, I don't know if I would be my own friend. I've changed a lot in the past 10 years, and I think for the better. But who am I to say right?

    Another learning is think about what you teach your kids! so they don't need to unlearn later!

    Now, regarding the selling you part. I think I don't completely agree. Of course who you are is key for the person, but what I try to do is avoid being part of the equation, I want my prospect to say YES to the opportunity, not to me. Am I totally wrong here?

    Thanks for telling the truth!!!!
    The truth is, that You are not selling a compensation plan, a business opportunity, great products or the chance to join a fast growing company - You are selling YOURSELF, Your personality.
    This kind of truth may hurt - but if You are willing to accept that truth and have the guts it takes to draw the right conclusions out of it, it may give You a chance to restart (not even Your NM business, but eventually Your whole life) and bring freedom to You - personally, financially, spiritually.

    What about a network marketing company where personal development IS the product? Where you get mentored by the top trainers in the world, who teach you about marketing, networking, prospecting, presenting, etc..

    Though your network marketing income and lifestyle are part of your story, who you have become is the greater, more attractive part of your story.

    Your stories about how networking marketing has changed who are, have the most impact on others. A culture of learning and growing bonds people together. Create a mastermind group with your leaders, to study and learn together, and share ideas.

  • I like that Darren talks about developing you as a person in order to be attractive to others and to be the person that they would want to work with. This dovetails into my strongly held beliefs about using "attraction marketing" to build a successful network marketing business.
