how do you deal with the do not call law?
  • aliceflanders
My income is no where near where I want it to be, so I guess I better do plenty more growing.
  • Alfie
Think about the person that you're calling, before you call.
    Then ask yourself:
    - Why would this person will have an interest in our company, in this kind of opportunity.
    - How could I complement this person, why would I wanna be in business with this person.

    Very valuable lessons.

  • I ma excited about the growth of myself and my business. I'm also excited for the future of my family!
  • BillSeigh
Eric, Thank you so much for what you are doing for us. The interviews and training will help me and so many others to succeed! Thank you!
  • Great interview. This was a training is such a short time that was powerful. Todd's language is so natural and non threatening. Confidence just drips off this guy. I love it.

Eric, all your guests are great. Todd gets my vote for being your #1 guest in my book so far.

RE: QOTD, I am excited that my son has joined me in business. He's a senior in college majoring in business. He is jazzed about the concept of Network Marketing and is very teachable.

    Ced Reynolds, CITRMS
  • HI. I am excited about the expectation of building a bigger organization in my company. I love my company. I love the people and every day, I get more excited about the new people that I am going to meet and share this with.
  • Apologies to anyone who has seen my auto-responder message appearing in the thread, I have changed the notification email address with Disqus, so this shouldn't happen again.
  • QOTD I am excited that the structure of my internet marketing platform is now really coming together and producing qualified leads for me to talk to.
  • Eric C
Hmmm, an eye-opener here with the "systems/ internet" vs "face-to-face" . So, Todd's saying that for those who are just depending on plugging people into the systems over the internet (ie. online presentations, etc) and who are NOT considering ever to meet with them face-to-face, then these people will have high attrition and won't be as successful as those meeting face-to-face. He said the key was that there are stronger relationships made when doing face-to-face. Ok, I accept that.

But what about the well-known network marketing trainers today who have been proven to be successful, and they're advocating these dialers (Citalink and Phone Burner)... they're apparently calling all over the nation and building as such. Will they have success?

What if I use these dialers, and then I "be the network marketing professional" and actually fly out halfway across the country to meet, sponsor and help build the business for a person whom I've already prospected and identified as a qualified business partner? Will this be the right way to grow my business? Now, the question is - is this duplicatable? Can regular folks afford to do this, for example?
  • I remember right at the beginning of my NM career that I just could not understand why I was coached to listen to the training audios at least 10 times each, (and that meant 10 CDs x 10 times each).
I just didn't 'get it' back then.

I am certain most people watching will have all heard this type of content so many times over the years and if you're like I was you will have left the site by now.

Oh how important it is to revisit and listen to this over and over again. It still amazes me how similar content from a different person just hits home every single time.

    Eric, bring it on I say, bring it on . . . . . .

QOTD: I am excited about firstly having slept in this morning, and feeling so incredibly refreshed today.
And secondly, about launching our new campaign in July. Gotta go . . . there's promotin' to do.
  • Eric can you answer or ask the question of your interviewees, when sombody asks you "What do you do", how do you professionally answer that.

I've heard some say "I'm a network marketer" or "I'm a Herbalife/Amway/aGEL/etc distributor" or "I create wealth for people".

What's a good professional response that also can possibly evoke an interest by the asker.

Thanks mate. This series is sensational. I'm a daily ADDICT!
  • That is absolutely true. We can decide to who with we want to work. People, do not waist your time with the wrong prospects. There is so many good prospects out there on this planet.
    I like Todd's thoughts.
  • Stella NL
Thank you so much. I learned a lot today again. Have to call and talk to people more and more firmly. I hold back to often. Have to have to right attidute towards people, so they take me serious.
QOTD: I am excited about some of my downline getting in action finally.
  • Wow! This episode is jam-packed full of really useful tips. I have to watch it again and take notes.
    Great stuff.
QOTD: After watching this, I'm excted about working my business. Before that, I was excited about going to my son's first soccer game of the season tonight.
  • Cathleen Wedlake
QOTD: I'm excited about the fact that I just learned some key information . . . information that I've been looking for that will set me apart from * acting like * an entrepreneur by doing busy work and actually * working as * an entrepreneur. Thanks Eric! I just love these trainings! Priceless!

i need to grow myself in order to grow my business - perfect game plan for Me !
  • Some great simple thoughts and ideas about building the business in this segment, I know I wrote down a few ideas to use today!
QOTD: I am excited to talk to new people, and play in my first rugby game of the season!
  • Thanks for so valuable practical advice. I think it's a very god idea to get into some small details like choosing optimum words for inviting people. Our business depends on personal relationship where the smallest detail can make changes.
And regarding attitude, I realized that I underestimated this aspect. Now I see how vital it is to develop right attitude.

QOTD. Every day I am excited about my progress in becoming a NMPro, and your program, Eric, is one of the major factors contributing to this.

Looking forward to the final interview with Todd Smith.
  • Eric,

Todd mentioned he hasn't sponsored very many people over the years. I have personally sponsored over 50 people in the last year or more, I've lost count. But most have quit, as they usually do. Is there a number that most Big MLM Guys focus on when building their business? It sounds like from what Todd was saying that your better off recruiting a lot less and finding those that are serious.
  • eric i have a question which is killing me since I started watching these videos you are making ...
in what industries are there your invitations working exactly... What MLM industyes do you recommend?
    where do you work?
    what do you sell?
  • sooo many great nuggets of info here. this is one i'm going to have to watch again (and again and again and again).
  • The nugget for me is picking the few who are willing and open to say yes, WHO have the skills or potential to grow a business. Those people are part of the warm market and a group you have some visual recognition. Calling a 1000 people a week will find them and one in 10,000 may be willing to do the same. Finding who you are wiling and open tol be friends with for life is the task. Personal growth again is where to begin.

Thank you Eric. This is a must view video until it is buried at the core of being.

QOTD: I am excited about what is possible today after watching this video.
  • 700-1000 phone calls a week? To WHO? I would LOVE to see that presentation, where someone says "All you have to do is get on the phone and call 700-1000 people every week"- That would sponsor NOBODY.

And for good reason; who wants to do that? I guess that guy did. Is that duplication?

I like the "would you be open" also; most people say yes to that.

QOTD: I'm excited about feeding people today, selling books today, and passing along some information.
I believe this whole industry is RIPE for change, and 700-1000 phone calls a day is the FIRST thing that needs to be changed.
  • Hi Bones. I agree with you re the 700 to 1000 calls, however I believe that ideology is meant to be taken metaphorically. The message is to talk to people. Lots of people.
Meet them, talk with them, listen for a need and then present the opportunity at the right time.

OK, so 700 to 1000 is hardly possible for most but again the core message is to talk to people consistently over a sustained period of time.
Most people in network marketing do not talk to enough people and then go around and around in a vicious circle of 'busy' work as a justification for real prospecting.

    Thanks.
    The best to you.
    Tony

PS: What books are you selling?
  • Agreed Tony, I would substitute Make 700 to 1000 "new contacts" per week.
  • Hey Tony, Thanks for the reply! It was rainy today, so I did NOT go out selling books, but I can be found on the streets of New York these days selling my book: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxCEvloQrJI
  • Trish Walsh
Incredible info as always Eric, I have sent this one out to many! What really got me is setting the tone. The difference between personal and business. I myself have seen while working with some it becomes personal as if I want more for them than they want for themselves... I have recognized that and I am shifting it... It is definetly the key between where I am now and 7figures!
  • Jose Padilla
Great content Eric. Had to take notes on this one with such valuable info...exactly what I was looking for.
QOTD I'm exited about the 90 day major blast the I'm starting.
    Cheers

I enjoy and learn from everyone of these interviews. Eric, the messages we hear through the series are consistent through each of the interviewees. If we don't listen we have no one to blame but ourselves.
  • Excellent training Eric! I love the "Would you be OPEN to learning more?", instead of "Would you be INTERESTED in learning more?" Most people don't want to say that they are not open, but they can easily say that they are not interested.

"Your business will only grow as much as you grow" relates to John Maxwell's Law of the Lid, which basically says that you're the ceiling for your team and few people will pass you up. But when you grow, you raise your leadership level and your team can grow with you.

Having a professional posture helps you qualify people to see if they are worth your time. So many people just want to sponsor anyone and they pay a heavy price in wasted time and effort to keep those people in the business.

When talking to people, they need to understand that they are not the only one making a decision, that you're making a decision about them too. Mike Dillard and Mark Weiser have a brilliant training on having the right posture at http://ilearntoearn.blackbeltrecruiting.com called Black Belt Recruiting. They talked about the discussion being more like an interview with them asking the questions and maintaining the control.

    Keep learning and growing! David
  • Black belt Recruiting is a great resource for teaching posture, Mark Weiser is a superstar in this area.
  • Hi Graham, Thanks for the comment. I drove from CO to UT last week to attend a company training and I listened to the Black Belt Recruiting training again. I think that every network marketer should invest the time and money to listen to this training to learn about having the proper posture with prospects, and to know how to answer objections. http://ilearntoearn.blackbeltrecruiting.com Keep learning and growing! David
  • Good solid information - especially the end comment by Eric on how many successful leaders set the parameters for who they were going to work with at the beginning of the relationship. I bet if you looked at ALL the successful leaders and the turning point in their individual lives and businesses, you'd find the same attitude. I can see now how much not having that type of consistent attitude has hindered my own development and business. It also affected my own attitude along the way. Time for a change - a consistent change!
  • Pure gold, Eric. Great 'nuts & bolts' information for networkers at any level.

QOTD: What am I excited about today? Prospecting, and adding content to my training blog...game on!

    Best,
    Scott
  • This is the only place to be for Professionals in this industry.
Thank you Todd & Eric for the straight talk...no bull which I've come to
    respect.

    Pat, Canada
  • Great content, the message I heard loud and clear is that no matter how you find a particular prospect or lead, be it online or offline, you have to develop the skills required to invite that person correctly and get them beyond first base and into your business.

    Grahame Brown (UK)
  • and one of those skills is in being able to build rapport without jumping down their throat with info.
    Love your comment Grahame.
    Tony.
  • Absolutely Tony
  • PeterGP
This video!! Great simple, straight talk about prospecting and recruiting! What I like most is that Todd has the posture towards the prospect the whole time.

This video is worth a lot of money... ;)
