I don't think Randy Gage is being completely honest about how he really prospects. That interviews was not very effective. I was looking for him to be a little more straight forward. I believe you can build a mlm online using lead capture pages and building relationships. Many people are doing it and training others to do so also. Recruiting your family is not the way everyone will build it.

Great video for part 3!

If you guys have never seen the video that Eric referred to by Perry Belcher, excellent free video, I highly recommend it!

I'm not sure why there is still so much confusion on Randy's views about internet marketing and network marketing. I believe he has articulated them very clear here in this interview. My understanding is that he believes there is a right way and a wrong way to do internet marketing.

The right way is to use these websites to meet people, build relationships with them and if something comes up over the course of that relationship where they indicate a need for your product and/or business opportunity, then you expose them.

The wrong way is to spam everybody and their momma with your business opportunity. The wrong way is also to use a lot of these internet marketing tactics (i.e. pay per click, article marketing, video marketing, etc) because of his belief that these tactics work but they don't duplicate.

Finally, in regards to the fact that there seems to be a disconnect between what he says and what he does because he has a blog and does internet marketing, he stated right here that the internet marketing that he does is NOT for the purposes of building his network marketing business, but they are for the purposes of building his publishing business. Obviously in a publishing business, you don't have to worry about duplication so you can do anything that works.

I agree with him for the most part. IThe one area I do disagree with him on is internet marketing tactics not duplicating because they can duplicate. The way they duplicate is by teaching the people you recruit using internet marketing tactics traditional network marketing and reserve internet marketing training only for those distributors that have a desire and a potential skill set to develop these skills. That's what I have done and in a US network marketing business, I have an organization with distributors in over 33 states. There's no way that would have happened if what I did doesn't duplicate.

QOTD - No because the majority of my close friends are in the business already and the few that aren't they took a serious look and decide it wasn't for them. I've never had a close friend refuse to take a serious look at my business opportunity. I would seriously question how "close" of a friend they really are if I asked them to take a look at my business and they couldn't take the time out to do that. I even look at the businesses of my friends who I wouldn't say are close, but they are friends just out of respect for the friendship.

Hi Paul. You have some good points and insofar as we're striving to become and/or teach others to become professional then we have a lot in common and I appreciate that in you. Your passion is so clear in your text.
What Randy Gage teaches is not a case of what works, it's a case of what duplicates. We can both show figures to justify any example however Randy's mantra of "to lead a large group of people to do a few simple actions consistently over a sustained period of time" does not show in your examples. 300,000 domain names is not a simple action and is not easily duplicated by a large group of people. Branding, social media, video, online ads, ppc etc is not 'easily' duplicated, yes it can work but it does not fit Randy's formula of duplication.
Randy's formula is obviously not the be-all and end-all of existence and yes, a healthy balance of on-line and off-line, new and old is always the best route for anyone in business however I have seen and even know a heck of a lot of people who have incredible success using Randy's formula without having to even go online, (and a lot of those people have had no previous mlm experience), so I guess we can agree to disagree on some points.
Oh, on your last question on Stephanie's sustainability, yes sustainable but is it a simple set of actions that can be done by a large group of people, I hazard a guess at no.
All the best.
Tony

Paul,

In my opinion there is a big difference and it may be "attainable" but it isn't "sustainable".

I believe my statement was taken very much out of context. I won't get involved in debating the issue, and was simply commenting on the QOTD. The debate will go on and on ... mine was simply sharing personal experience.

In my personal experience, It isn't difficult to prospect, sponsor, or enroll using IM. The difference is huge once you've experienced the difference between building a successful business using "old school" vs "new school" and take a look at the solid bonding and culture created by what some like to call old school, there's no comparison.

I agree 1000% with Randy Gage and Tony Scarcia ... that you cannot (never seen anyone that has yet, and doub't I ever will) build the solid, sustainable duplication where you can walk away and continue to be paid year after year. The income will eventually stop as Tony says, I believe.

If advertising, PPC etc was all it took to build a network marketing business, why would companies need (or want) distributors?

It's the relationships, loyalty and culture and I personally believe that can, or will, ever be possible online.

Paul, I wish you all the best in your business!

Eric & Randy ... I can't wait to listen to tomorrows episode!
