Most people I know have never been in business before therefore treating NM like a serious business, as important as that is, can set some unrealistic expectations in some people's minds.<br>I know a lot of people who have a lot of fun in their 'hobbies' as diverse as model trains, fishing, sports, orchard society, roller skating etc etc, then when it comes to their NM business they have exactly that tension and incessant expectation that it has to happen or they die!<br>Since adopting a more casual yet still consistent approach 'without changing the fundamentals' everything has changed for them, and for me.
