Eric another great video. Great backdrop. I do like to have a script at least as a rough foundation where I can tweak it and then I tailor it to my personality and then the sky is the limit. :)

Here I am going to disagree to a certain extent. I have been studying with Eric Lofholm on sales training etc. He teaches script writing. His definition of a script is "Words in sequence that have meaning". Which means you use a script anyway, even when you think you are not. You should have a script for various situations then modify it to suit your personality, and the situation. It simply prevents being stuck.

QOTD - I don't have a summertime family tradition, I'm too busy trying to make ends meet so my kids can eat, working in a supermarket doesn't allow me to have the summers off because they're our most busiest. However when I do get my time and freedom back, our favorite summer tradition will be camping and relaxing in the great outdoors without a care in the world.
  • This is my biggest struggle by far, just talking to people. You're methodology is so unbelievable and you make it so easy that I'm gaining the confidence to go out there and do it! Thanks Eric..

QOTD: Our summer tradition is going to a Hyatt Resort for 4-5 days and just chill, very relaxing!

Learn to talk to total strangers. 20 years ago I decided to do door to door selling of Electrolux vacuum cleaners. After the first couple of times of knocking on doors it became so much fun. I tried something different with each house and eventually learned what worked. After awhile I was able to do a cold call presentation 1 out of every 3 houses. It was fun. What is the worse thing that can happen?? BOO!

Thank you , you have to think like this to move forward :)

Keep it simple! Oh yes, how much we complicate this business. Thank you Eric.
  • It's funny how something so simple can be such an eye opening experience. I know for a fact that the main reason so many people fail, as well as fail to join Network Marketing is in their reluctance to communicate with people. After seeing this video it reminds me that it's not the end of the world if someone says no. Also, there are so many people out there that if you just keep it up someone will say yes!
  • I think that these are awesome Eric. Great tips in easy to understand clips. Thanks for what you do..

QOTD: Getting together with family and friends and grilling burgers, steaks , etc with Indiana Sweet corn just taken off the stalk THAT DAY and tomatoes from my garden.. the BEST!
  • Another excellent insight for our success in NWM. Keep the "practical" tips coming!

some understood what that man told eric?

Eric. I just wanted to thank you for you doing these 3-5 minute shows. I watch them all the time. Tell me, do you have a full time assistant that holds your video camera or do you use a tri- pod. I like you doing these from all over different places. It makes it more personal and alive. Keep up the good work. My wish is more people would promote the networking marketing business. Cheers
  • Camp fires....
  • Thanks Eric!

For me it's been a big learning process talking to strangers. Here I include people that I talk to from time to time on the train or through my job but dont socialise with privatly. In the begining it was allmost impossible I was way to shy. But I've learned an aproach that is - Listen, listen, listen, and then talk. People will almost allways talk about their problems and I just listen to them and then I go in and suggest a way to solve them.
  • Great information. Thank you!

  • Oh, I forgot the QOTD: Going to a lovely island, almost deserted, in the south of Portugal, to spend beach time... sun, crystal waters, delicious barbeque's (made by myself, hehehe), and incredible Sangrias (made by Sara)...

    SLOBBER!!! :)

  • Thats right.

And if you think of prospecting as a means to give other people the opportunity to get their freedom, it's even more easy for you to do your job.

Yesterday I just had the proof that a NO is most of the times nothing to do with you, the company or the opportunity. I just helped one of my down lines do a Private Business Reception to a very big friend of her's.

At the end we all finished the PBR with a tear on our eyes, because there where very strong reasons for her not to join.

Not that her friend wouldn't like to join, but because her friend thinks it's is not appropriate for her given her specific social position and also because she had been approach for the same opportunity by other friends. One may think that it doesn't make much sense, because we have doctors, lawyers, and other high social positioned people joining our opportunity, and some have also been presented the opportunity several times before, but everyone has the choice to do whatever they want in life.

All this to say that, most of the times a prospect have their own reasons not to join and only because these two ladies were so friends of each other we were able to understand the reason why she said NO. Most of the times people just say no, giving no reason, or making up not real reasons, because there are no such ties of friendship.

    So, in conclusion, don't procrastinate!

    Persist!

    And you know what?

    I love you all :)

  • Eric, thank you for a 'taste' of the fair! It's been nearly 10 years since I walked through the buildings, ate concoctions that only show up during the fair and people watched for an entire day... or three at the Great Minnesota Get Together. PS... leaves are already changing and Winter and snow is two months away!

Everyone is interested in adding money to their month. The seed of network marketing will not sprout in just any old plot however. At least half the fun is checking out the ground before you either plant a seed or move onto the next plot.

Hi Eric, thanks a lot for for all the great content you provide us with NMPro.com, that's fantastic. I am quite new to Network Marketing, joined before knowing you the same company that you are part of, and learning each day with the help of your great shows. Went back to Episode #1 and watched them all and downloaded them all. By the way, it will be great if you could provide us with an Audio version of the shows in this web or via RSS for iTunes so we could put that great content on our iPod and listen to it when ever we want and where ever we want.

Regarding today's show in particular... This morning I was in a business trip in a Taxi from the airport to my meeting and I started to talk with the driver. We talked about the economic situation, his situation, work.... to make it short he was at or nearby 12 o'clock if you know what I mean. So I started to talk about the business opportunity, the products... At the end of the ride he gave me his business card and seems to be still very interested. I promised him that I will send him a follow up email to night with all the detailed information.

My question is the following. I know that you are again scripts and if I refer to others episodes, I should not have talked to him about the opportunity during my first encounter with him. Was what I did right or wrong? (future may tell). If you can't or don't want to provide us scripts, could you provide us with more general guide line? For example large block structure when we meet prospects?

Anyway thanks a lot for your fantastic support in this business and my wish for you is that you keep providing us with this great content for ever! -Pierre

I found NMP.com because someone forwarded #122 to my email. This info is great, just what I need to help build confidence to start up again. I intend to go back and listen to all of the past episodes. Thank you Eric for helping the rest of us out here learning to do this profession.
  • I was waiting for you to grab someone and ask! What did the guy say to you?

I definitely need to work on relaxing when it comes to prospecting. I enjoy telling jokes and all of that, and sometimes I put all of that away for "business" talk.

Why the MN State Fair of course. It's all about tradition - the gotta have foods, the gotta have exhibits. A great family day. I think Minnesota does it like no other.
