NMPRO #139 – Re-Progamming Yourself for Success in MLM – 1 of 4

September 13th, 2009 Email This

This week’s series is one of the most important messages so far here on NMPRO.  It comes from a live training I did recently that was captured on a flipcam.  The video quality isn’t stellar but you can see it and you can hear it so I’m gonna share it.  I’ve divided it into 4 shows for easier viewing and will post the entire training at the end of the week.  In the talk I reference an example of a computer and a printer.  That comes from T. Harv Ecker’s book “The Millionaire Mind” (I could have used a different example, but I like his).  And, for the most part, I’ve edited the specific company language.  There may be a few examples like “Diamond” etc.  In those cases, just substitute “Star Fleet Commander” or whatever they call the top ranks in your company.  If you get value here, please encourage others to watch.  Question of the Day (QOTD): From today’s show, what one key point is most valuable to you?

Plant the roots and put your mind to it and you have the flow chart to success. :) Great information.

We all have programming, some good, some bad. It is up to us to figure out which is which and change it. Perseverance is necessary, but we have to have the right attitude first. Before we can have the right attitude, we have to have the right thoughts which proceed from our programming.
  • I'm super motivated now and i WILL succeed in my forever living business. I can't explain how inspiring working with millionaires is!
  • I need to find some new people to associate with that can inspire and motivate me. I am always the motivator and leader and do feel the weight of being at the top.
  • Erik
This is now a part of my basic trainings :)
  • John Spardella
That was a powerful episode. Eric breaks it down to the starting point of "programing" and how important that is to get right. If it isn't right now, work on it as it is the starting point and will ultimately determine your actions.
  • I love this series!

Thank you for sharing your wisdom!

WOW - Your a hero of Networkmarketing. I used to think that the Masters of MLM was J M Fogg, R Gage, T Sales and " Big Al " , but I must say that you are up there and probably on the same level or even better than your pal Randy G ( But dont tell him that I told you so :) The best part is that you do not take any money for this and that you are one of the reasons why MLM is getting more and more respect , fantastic job - Thank you

In l2 minutes you provided us with an action map for an abundantly successful life, and you did it so elegantly.
That is Teaching! Teaching at its best.
    Congratulations Eric!

A deeper understanding of what it means to have been programmed, conditioned all my developing life and what an impact it has had on my business success. It's encouraging to know that there are so many who understand how we've been negatively conditioned. It's encouraging to know that I am not alone when I view life and success as you do and NOT as those nearest to me. This reinforces my focus on my goal of achieving financial freedom. Thanks again for all you do for us, Eric.

"You are the Average of the Five" Take a look at the five!
  • Eric.. This series has been your best work to date! Thanks for an incredible resource to share with the Team! :)
  • Hi Eric,
Fully agree that this is THE most important message - in life!
The idea that we CAN reprogram ourselves is NetWorkMarketing's greatest gift.

This is so because the original programing is self preserving, and here we are - advocating CHOOSING the programing that will serve US. In itself, this is so "preposterous" that it draws more opposition - internal and from without - than anything else.

I am so in tune with this notion, that I created a new FaceBook group just a few days ago, to support the re-programing process. Check it out at http://groups.to/harnessyourintuition/
  • Impressive content....

QOTD: Programming. That's where everything starts...

    Love you all

The most valuable point: Associations are powerful, they can pull us up or down.
  • rosanamateu
I`ve been there, listening to Eric. I can see this training lesson over and over again and always find something else to learn about.
  • Another Great Piece! You keep Uping the Bar on your training! Most people will never even sit down and listen to this type of stuff in their lives, This industry can really give people some amazing training to work on the most important person; Themselves...

QOTD; Looking at the Root cause before forming a solid tree; Starting with Programing, then Thoughts and then Attitude... Great Stuff...
  • Great teaching Eric,
Presently reading "Secrets of The Millionaire Mind"- by T.Harv Eker--great comparisons on re-programming our minds.
Keep up the great teachings my friend.
  • Great stuff....you're awesome Eric!
QOTD: The key point to me was "associations".....who we spend the most time with. It's so true and VERY important.
  • You're the master of education, belief me. Thanks my friend....follow you step by step. your biggest fan. Danny van Nispen (Netherlands)
  • neilclements
I really Liked your take on the slight edge to success or failure!
  • donham298
The major point is that we have all been programmed to the nth degree. Our job is to re-program.
  • Yes! Yes! Yes! Eric...it is like unraveling a ball of yarn. Through this entire presentation, part 1 & 2, you hit so many nerves, so many truths. I know that it is me that is in the way...I have a fantastic product that I use and has changed my life...but everytime I run the video in my mind of me presenting my opportunity, the projector stops, I can't see it yet, I can't feel it yet and therefore, I am afraid to try it.
The idea of taking apart my programing and looking at it for what it is, keeping the good and discarding the bad...fantastic! I have to get to work, and can't wait for tomorrow's segment...THANK YOU!!!
  • ritafulton
    Eric,

While listening to you speak, I kept saying yeah I beli9eve that and know that; but then all of a sudden you dropped a "Huge" nugget for me today. What I got most out of this message so far is "be at bottom of my closest 5"!! Wow, I know that helped to start my "re-programming". Thank you. Since I am "orphaned" and my upline is Corporate for my MLM, I have a , don't laugh, question for you. What associations are there available for network marketing folks? Are there generic types, meetings, live mentoring?

    You are awesome.

Thank you Eric for who you are.
  • clemboyd
Great info. Eric! It reminds me of a training I attended years ago and a gentleman by the name of Jeff Olson was doing the training. They were a lot of things I forgot about. I love the illustration and the computer/printer example. The one key point that I will take away is being the average of the 5 people you hang around the most.
  • I've been learning how to reprogram myself in many differant ways. I have used the law of attraction to aquire my lastest method of reprogramming. The easest way that I have found to reprogram yourself is to use a product called EFT or Emotional Freedom Technic which can be found at emofree.com. You can download a free copy of the manual and this is all you really need to get started in the reprogramming of your mind. I have learned alot from you Eric and look forward to learning much more. Thank You! for all your time and effort to developing the best network marketers the planet has seen! To your success may it be bountiful and joyes!
  • Great visuals! looking forward to the rest of them this week!
  • MY wife saw this in SLC and LOVED it. She is still quoting this seminar.
QOTD- I love how you use the example of a tree roots in how success and failure are embedded or "programmed"
The law of association is priceless too.
  • I've been reading a lot of Neale Donald Walsch lately, and he talks about how your actions (activities) all stem from WHO you are BEING as a person, and your beliefs create that.

So, if you're a comedian, you automatically tell jokes b/c it's part of who you are.
If you're not a comedian, you have to be told jokes to say, and remember to say them in appropriate moments, and work on mimicking all of the activities.

The question is, who is a Networker like that?
  • I have been investigating my 'programming' for a long time. Human Being is a machine that if allowed to run the [your] show….it will. In the beginning I was at the effect of what Eric talks about. ‘It’ did it to me and I was unaware of ‘it’ and I organized myself to deal with the rain storms of life. [They were always personal too!!] I did notice, having a number of brothers and sisters, that the same event usually created a different result in each of us. What I made 'it' mean was very different from what my sisters and brothers made it mean. Each one of them was as different from me as from the others as well. Some people believe once the event occurs and you ‘decide’ what it means you are ‘hard wired’ for life. Seemed like more programming to me. I realized I am the one who decides. When prior life programming says to turn left, get angry, be nice, remain calm I have a choice in the moment to do something else based on this moment now not one from age 2, 4, 16 or whatever.

You can affect your attitude by your actions. Put a mirror on your desk and be sure you are smiling when you talk on the phone. It will affect your voice, your posture and your conversation with whoever you are talking with. Don’t ‘feel’ like smiling? … Fake it and it still works. Who you spend your time with affects more than your income. ‘Birds of a feather’ is the same with humans as it is with crows and pigeons. Don’t like the looks and workings of your flock. Change your outlook, your clothes and perhaps even where you live will have a significant effect. “I can’t because….” Is a lie you use to stay small and frozen where you are now.

The major difference between the first line that does go up and the second is the second goes down as soon as you quit. That you can’t fake.

Eric, this is exactly what I've been working on recently, to re-program my old thoughts, “tapes” that tell me I can’t do it. It’s hard to push yourself to change in this way but the rewards are well worth it! As usual, I very much look forward to the rest of this series and it’s perfect timing for me. Thanks - Dave

Question of the Day (QOTD): From today’s show, what one key point is most valuable to you? Be at the bottom of the top 5 people you associate the most.
    Thanks
  • Lrrsimmons
Hi, So many of the points were great. I've always told my kids, show me your friends and I will show you your future. So true. Thanks, for all your insight.

Eric, this is so true. As children and in later years, we are programmed in to thinking that we must get a J.O.B. in order to survive. We do have to have some income coming in from somewhere. To pay the bills, buy the groceries, clothe ourseleves....etc., but if we had been taught when we were younger that it is better to have residual income rather than waiting on a paycheck that never gets bigger, we would all have everything we ever needed. Not to mention, we wouldn't have to work as hard either.

    Thank you so much

My Valuable Dey Point? - The first graph illustration showing the line of progress going horizontally then at last going up rapidly! :-)
  • Tomer Shallom
    Hi Eric,
    Thanks for that powerfull show.
From today's show, the most valuable point for me is the fact that when i meet friends or prospects, i meet diffrent progrraming, and the only thing i must do with it is to keep on focusing my progrraming to my goals, and by that maybe and maybe not helping them reprograming themself.
  • oreinosa
Great show, a new perspective: activities are the result of our attitude, culture, and thougths.

Since I can't clone you legally and carry you around in my pocket, I'm gonna tell the whole world to come to this website.
