I know this is a better way & thats why I am involved in a network marketing business, but as soon as I mention network marketing a lot of fearful people say 'its not for me'...These frightened people want to work for the 'machine' as you put it. I hope my friends who listen to this they will change there minds & join consider joining my business. I am not working for myself in network marketing I am working to change the lives of others as well. I look forward to the change in peoples lives that is created from having a network marketing business. NWM is the only model I have seen that can do this as the 'machine' is working for itself & at the cost of people not having a life of there own that they can truly enjoy.

I meet with many people who are like what you said. They know that their way of making money has to be changed, but yet they keep doing the same things that they are doing now and hope that the bad situation they are facing right now will turn good again. Some even hope it will become better than before. Some even say that so and so politician or expert say the situation will turn good. We can say whatever we want to say. Our economy is changing, the way we make money has to be changed is a fact. I think they just can't get out from their comfort zone. They are afraid of changing.

This is so true!!!! People are willing to stay comfortable doing what they are doing and are unwilling to get uncomfortable to do something for themselves!!!

Maybe here is a good example of the reason WHY people STILL think their way is better:

I feel so sorry for them, but have you ever noticed how circuses keep their elephants from wandering?

Just a simple length of rope fastened to a large peg in the ground! And these are the animals they used to use to raise and lower the tonnes of canvas in the Big Top!

It seems ridiculous that such a huge, powerful animal can be kept in check by such a flimsy device.

That’s our first mistake.
By thinking that the rope is keeping the elephant in place, we mistake effect for cause.

How?
Because of false perspective. We don’t understand the mental and emotional conditioning the animal has gone through in its infancy.

When an elephant is big enough to stand and walk, it’s leg is shackled by a very strong rope or chain to a tree. The baby elephant hasn’t the strength to uproot the tree or break the rope or chain and, in just a few weeks, it forms the idea that this is the way things will always be.

So, no matter how big and strong it grows, the moment someone fastens a rope to its leg, it thinks it can’t go anywhere.

It’s NOT the rope that shackles the adult elephant. The real shackle is its own mental and emotional conditioning.

We need to change our mindset, be open to the possibility that there is something ELSE out there, besides the known machine.

Hi Eric; I am absolutely encouraged by your inspiring daily webcasts, I totally admire you and your methods. I too am 54 and have been told by the machine "If I cannot accept change, I will be OBSOLETE." It makes it very hard to go to work in the morning. I have looked on the internet, there are litterally hundreds of thousands of offers for work at home businesses, How do I know where to turn, and what company to join for very little investment of $'s and as much as 30 hrs a week of time until I could make enough to leave the "Machine". I know personally, as the savings dwindles to very little, I am physically tired of the stress and standing all day to make a living. I too am scared of my future and I KNOW THERE IS A BETTER WAY< Just don't know which way to go, where to put my trust into. When you don't have the connections or Experience on the web. My previous company that I dearly loved went bankrupt because of mismanagement of funds. I worked for free for 7 months hoping that I can make a difference. It did make a difference - it put a huge dent into my finances and I was an emotional wreck for some time (hurt, anger, frustration, sadness...). It was a Japanese company and I was promised my pay... but when the company is gone, it is gone, zilch, nada, nil.

I was saved by Network Marketing. Without the income we had with Network Marketing during this time, we would have lost our house and everything that was dear to us. I am grateful for the chance to help others that in turn helps us. There's lots more to learn and build... I LOVE this journey and it IS a better way.

Everyone has the ability to learn. Find a company with a good product that will retail well, and a good compensation plan. Then earn while you learn.

Working for someone else allows them to tell you "how good your are" and they will never tell you that your any better than just a little bit. Working at home gives you the chance to excel and become who you are at a higher level.

Eric, this one was (as all of them are) a great topic. I listen to several people in my circle losing their jobs left and right but unfortunately some just do not wanna even give this a try or even a listen. And some are very smart with multiple talents but they, just like me, had "go get a degree, a job with benefits, and ride the corporate ladder" engraved in their brains. Some broke the chains and others are still holding on hoping and wishing for things to get "back to normal". I believe it was either September or August that had the lowest job losses in a year or so with the number being 244,000 who lost their jobs and they were happy to report that statistic. THAT'S A LOT OF PEOPLE! I'll keep doing my part. I've been with my company for 3 years now and I will admit that I did not approach everyone I know but since about January or Februay of this year I'd venture to say that there's not one person who knows me that does not know what i'm doing. People are hurting and i'm looking to stop the bleeding.

The ‘machines’ numbers are not good. With little effort you'll find that just over 50% of US citizens between 18 and 26 are not employed and most of them will not find a ‘job’ in the next year or longer. The number of people out of work, not just the ones receiving unemployment benefits, is over 17% of all US citizens. Many have bought into the "I don't control..." when in fact they have all the control but have given it away. They can take it back anytime they choose.

I have not been 'employed' for a long time and during the last twenty years when employed I only worked 100% commission employment. Many 'sales' skills are detrimental to being a Network Marketing Pro but one, a high tolerance for operating in unknown territory, will be a requirement for nearly everyone going forward.
