NMPRO #161 – Prospecting Follow Up

October 26th, 2009 Email This

Many have asked what happens when you call a prospect back after asking them to do a specific action as we discussed last week.  In today’s show, I provide the answers.  Question of the Day (QOTD): Are you really committed to becoming a Network Marketing Professional?

Fantastic information, this is probably the 5th time I`ve watched this and Yes I will make sure I do not fall into the tactician trap :)

    Eric!
Thank you for the message and all the repetition you make us do.

    Black sea is wonderful!
  • ez2win
Certainly. Is there any other way to freedom?
  • Very good info.
In fact, as you always say to us, each step is just the preparation for the next step.

Never let a prospect wait for your next step, right Eric?

Follow up goes to sample the products, or for a web cast or for a local meeting, and never stop UNTIL the prospect says YES, or NO.

    No MAYBEs allowed :).

We need a decision from the prospect and that's all!

    Love you all

    Hi Eric,

Thank you! It's simple and powerful, just doing what the agreement was with the prospect.

    All the Best!

  • Good, simple, actionable advice. This works really well given that our best prospects are often very busy themselves. Being serious, respecful, courteous, and keeping your word will always work in favor of winning the confidence of those who are also that way.

My name is Ephren Tinoco and I have gone PRO!
  • More great content, thanks Eric.
To answer the QOTD: I am committed 1000% to becoming a Network Marketing Professional. I believe that you should be professional in anything that you do. Network Marketing should not be an exception. Even if you are just part time in it, you should still be a professional.

Love the view of the Black Sea!
    Have a great day!
    God Bless!
  • Good practical advice Eric! Thank you.
QOTD: What do you mean "becoming"? I like to think I AM professional, regardless of the level of success I'm experiencing. I am committed to becoming a "successful" professional!

    The Answer is YES!!

Once again Eric you are bang on the money......thanks! As to your question......I am more committed than ever to being a pro networker and part of that is exposing this fantastic site to more and more friends in need.

    QOTD: YES!!!
  • Hi Eric, great information! A couple of questions for you. I can share what I do but I think people in the community will get a lot of value at hearing what you do also.

    a) For the person who you leave a voice mail for, how long do you wait before you call them back again?
I usually wait about 3 days before calling them back. I think the next day is too soon. I hate when people call me everyday so I wouldn't want to do that to someone else. I think a week is too much time, so I've settled on 3 days.

I also always try to call them back at a different time (i.e. if I tried them in the morning, I would try in the afternoon or evening or weekend the next time)

    b) How long will you continue to call them if you keep getting voice mails?

I personally will call them 4 times, spread them out over 3 days for each call. On the last voice mail, I leave my "break up" message. Basically I let them know that I can only assume that timing is not right for them since they haven't called me back and that if I'm wrong, give me a call back, otherwise I will check back with them 6 months from now to see if timing is better. Then I'll call them every 6 months.

Do I always do this perfectly? No. However, this is my ideal scenario, what I strive to do with each prospect.

QOTD - I am truly committed to being a network marketing professional.
  • Trully commited !!!
I learn from you a lot.
step by step I'm climbing the Everest
  • Follow up, both sides of the conversation relate to one of my favorite quotes:

Talent alone won't make you a success. Neither will being in the right place at the right time, unless you are ready. The most important question is: "Are you ready?"
    --- Johnny Carson

Are you ready to make your follow up calls today? What's in the way?

When I follow up I know many will not be ready. What's in their way?

What has to happen to be ready? For you? For them?

    QOTD: I am.
  • Hey Eric, ... Your locations are awesome! I have spent the last 5 days with 50 other people with a common cause. Finding out what is most important in our lives and what is stopping us from achieving those goals... So your question is very appropriate today. One of my favorite things about NMPRO is that it brings the business down to very basic elements. Thank You.

So with a new clarity and focus I can say that YES I AM COMMITTED TO BECOMING A NETWORK MARKETING PROFESSIONAL!

I said I was, but after serious soul searching over the weekend realized it was only lip service. Listening to your If I - Would You audio I made over and over last week sparked this realization. Today is the first day of my 'new' network marketing career. Thanks Eric. And btw I'm going to meet Gary Vaynerchuk Friday at a Crush It book signing in Montreal.
  • bethascoli
I met Gary at his book signing in Boston - he's a really nice guy and the book is AWESOME!
  • wlee
Thanks, looking forward to meeting him. Have a good one

Yes I'm committed but I am at the stage where this is not 2nd nature yet and I find myself questioning my actions or should I say non-action after the fact. I suppose this is the first step to realizing I am not implementing this. So I will continue to practise until it becomes part of me.
  • JeffGillis
Yes I'm committed to my professional network marketing career success. I provide my prospects a legacy opportunity where they can seize there wildest dreams... For professional network marketers this is a carpe diem moment. What's your dream? Perhaps we can talk sometime Eric?
  • Hey Eric
I have watched all episodes since you launched this website, but for the last few month couldn't write comments.
I'm in Lithuania right now, preparing for presentation tonight. Last week came back from Warsaw, we were there with a team to expand our MLM businesses.
I started just February this year and like this profession, I like what I do and I'm going to be a Network Marketing Professional!
Thank you for everything you are sharing with us. God bless you ;)
  • hpena
I think it's great that you cover the reality of building the business. Most trainings I've recieved only address the perfect scenario of everyone watching the presentation but not when it doesn't happen perfectly. Great way to keep it professional.

I know that many business presentations end with a "are you a 1, 2, or 3", is it better to ask that question when appropriate or the "did you get it" statement when you call them back?

QOTD: Absolutely, I have been going through a major transformation since I started watching NMPRO in March.
  • stellawebber
Well, that's clear. If they still don't get it, about this business being (maybe) just right for them, and if they are negative without a specific reason, does it still make sense to send them another link, cd or something to explain it?
I am always in doubt if I have to move on (let it go)or just try to make a new appointment, and I send them a new link or so.
