NMPRO #171 – Dan McCormick Interview 1 of 4

November 8th, 2009 Email This

Dan McCormick is another member of the Million Dollar club.  In fact, this year he will earn more than $2 Million in Commissions!  WOW!  Here is the first of this incredibly value filled 4-part interview.  My STRONG recommendation is that you watch the interview this week with a notepad.  There are tons of important ideas here.  Question of the Day (QOTD):  I used a new tool to record this interview via Skype.  It will help me get to interviews more quickly.  Do you think the quality is good enough?

Quality was fine. any chance you can get the list of the people he studied?
  • Yes...it's cool...nice to see my old buddy Dan :-) Tell him Steve Lee says hi.
  • Josh N
Definatley, my orginization uses it all the time. great tool.
  • dorothym
A little distortion in Dan's face. I know Dan, and he is cuter than that. Maybe he could back up a little from the camera
  • What a great interview. The quality is great. Thank you for sharing.
  • Hey Eric,

Great great show and I have to say I'm so glad to be back here for real. My old router started disconnecting video files after 1 min. aprox. so it's been quite hard to follow theese last weeks. So What did I do - I used some of my commission to upgrade my hardware and now it's working perfectly - and what a RIDE! To come back and then have this super interview loaded with inspiration and motivation is just so GREAT!

I especially like Dan's point of making friends instead of selling...it's really how Network Marketing is build!

QOTD: The quality is superb - so keep doing this!
  • valeriefaganswentkowski
I think the quality is very good. The sound is clear. Thank you. VALERIE FAGAN, Alma, CO
  • carlosquintanilla
Thank you both for putting this together, I have decided to become a NETWORK MARKETING PRO, I'm just starting and I do want to be a millionair. I had a chance already in the real estate boom and it shifted on me, you will hear from me soon and I hope to be in your on-line show one day....Carlos J. Quintanilla @ Gano Excel

Love that idea of always having two books: one to read and one to write in. I have always just underlined and taken notes right in the book I was reading, but having the journal to write in would help to work through the thoughts.

QOTD: Obviously the quality isn't as great as your HD Flip, but it IS a great way to get more interviews. The quality is just fine for that. I'd say keep on keepin' on.
  • chrispettengill
    Eric,
I would buy a better microphone if I were you. You sound a bit muffled.
Fantastic interview. I am hoping to meet and get on board with you.
  • I met Jim Rohn and Bill Bailey at a seminar in Vegas 2 months after I joined the industry. They are both great men!

QOTD - Quality is good enough.
  • brannewme2
The quality of the interview is good. The quality is a little less than your normal method however you are the one that looks pink not him so it may be the lighting. The graininess is there but for the time verses quality, we still get the message. Thank you for all you do for us Eric. You are an inspiration to work towards.
  • mauricestaples
What are you using to record video thru skype
  • That was great! As usual Dan McCormick is AMAZING! What an incredible mentor and teacher. Thank you for this wonderful new avenue to share and inspire. The clarity of the site, et al was one of the best and easiest i have experienced.
    Thanks so much,
  • latachia_2
Great interview! Yes ,it is good enough to keep doing all of the time. just think, you are doing the same thing Oprah does on TV all of the time.Technoligy is a wonderful thing& I'm sure glad you're a part of it.
  • Intothehu
    It's great quality!
  • Eric, I just wished I had the knowledge to tell exactly which emotions this interview took from me. And I REALLY encourage everyone to read the article Dan proposed. Astonishing!

This is another pearl of your great job in NMPRO.

Dan brought his knowledge, his advice, and was ready to give even more value to the show with the FORTUNE article.

    WELL DONE!

    QOTD: Superb!

    Love you all
    Alfredo Rodrigues
  • The presentation is very lively and keeps the interest going. Maybe the split image has to do with it, I like it!
Quality is good without the interuptions sometimes occurring with Skype.
  • The quality is good. The only thing I would say is make sure the background is clear of distractions or moving things. The fan behind Dan keeps pulling my attention away from him to just over his shoulder.
  • ericworre
Agree. I had the same issue
  • There are so many things that are coming to the fore in this interview:
-Cash Flow is King, not Equity.
-MLM 2.0 is here! I'm loving the new Skype application.
-There is a set of MLM principles that are fundamental, irrespective of the MLM version in play.
-It is important to read read read! Self development!
  • i absolutely loved Dan's interview.... One of my all time favorites.. i feel like i could really connect and the subject matter has had a powerful impact on me.... for those of you feeling a little resourceful.... i have already listened to all 4 parts of the interview... can you find out how,...?

    Best of success,

    Roger

    P.S. quality is fine :)
  • Erik
The quality is good, the quality of the interwiew is even better :)

I cheated and watched all four show one after the other, Eric! I just couldn't turn it off, and wanted to hear more and more. It so great to have them archived and available for a re-listen, and to fill in those notes!

    Have the best day,
    MJ

Terrific! Wow! Law of Attraction at work here! I have been listening to some interviews with Dan by some other trainers and have been extremely impressed with him. I am beyond thrilled that you managed to catch him for an interview and I can't wait to read his book which I been putting off buying until now. It will be on my next Amazon order.

Quality of interview is great for when you can't reach them in person. I do love seeing the body language between you and the interviewee in person though. Please don't stop doing the in person interviews when it is convenient for you. Eric you rock!
  • GlobalVision
Right ON EW!! Mr. McCormick help heal some old wounds from my past network marketing experience. He was the first real Pro that I met who was documented, passionate, and willing to go to work with you in the trenches! I wasn't ready to truly get going back then but gosh....looking back he was so instrumental in allowing me to get back in the GAME! Thanks for providing us with this powerful session!!

    QOTD: AWESOME!
  • Marion Levi
Interview was great - looking forward to the rest of the interview - WOW!
QOTD - quality is amazing on sound & video.
    Thanks Eric & Dan.
  • maryjod
What a great show today, Eric. This is my favorite interview on NMP yet! You're right - get out your notebook...
    Thanks so much,
    MJ
  • Man I love this show, you’re consistently exposing me to new MLM Rock Stars. I’m relatively new to the game and don’t know of many of the Rock Stars you’ve brought on until I see them here.

To Dan, really thanks for being on the show and I’m really looking forward to the rest of the interview. I can tell you’re a true student!

    QOTD: the quality is super!
  • Great Quality on the sound and video. Gadgets are great aren't they?
  • Pato Coello
I think the quality is good enough and this app rocks!! Thanks for this interview, very useful tips.

Hi every one, I believe that this skype interview is wonderfull in every single aspect, even the technical one. I think it will bring us even more information without too much flying miles.

    God bless you all.

  • denisekay
Yes the quality is good. Love the 2 book suggestion.
    thanks for the smiles.

    going pro..
  • Quality is more than enough.

I look forward o the rest of it. For everyone saying that "The price of entry should be higher" evidently don't get that the business works when there are A LOT of people involved. Pitching the struggle works AGAINST getting a lot of people involved.

    Duh.
  • ericworre
For those interested, this is the Skype app I used for this week's interview http://ecamm.com/mac/callrecorder/
  • Thank you, Eric! I've been using Skype for a couple of years and love it, so this app will be perfect for what we want to do.
  • QOTD: sound is more than good enough.

Dan didn't lose 2 million on his home. You can't lose what you don't have. Who lost was the state of CA. Their income streams of overvalued property free fall in values will put a ding in their bottom line next year especially. Owning a home is a liability. It is the governments’ income stream. You have a job; it is not an income stream. At best it is a bribe to keep you returning. You are the company’s income stream.

When you 'opt in' to a brick and mortar opportunity the path is laid out and it is very clear it will take 5 to 10 years [or more] to make it big. It will take nearly that long just to break even in many of those 'opportunities.' One small change in your environment can end it for you too. Wal-Mart moves in 15 miles away and downtown smallville is a ghost town. If anything network marketing is too easy. Skip lunch for a month and you save enough to get into any one of the best programs. You don't need a degree or even a grade school diploma. There is no license to study for or pay for. No test that says you are a licensed network marketer. We normally do not 'pitch' the struggle but the ease of entry, the simplicity of the ride and how much money you can make. SOMEONE always puts on their best show, offers their best insights and motivates people to their highest aspiration. I have never been to a meeting where anyone threw water on the crowd in any way. The 'highest aspiration' of many is Aladdin’s lamp. That LAMP was not invented by Network Marketing. A wish for instant wealth and success is part of human wiring ramped up by Disney and every advertising pitch on TV, radio and in print.

What would happen if we declared up front that it was a 5 year struggle and only 1 in a 1000 make it sooner? What if we wouldn’t let any tom, dick or harry poser into our programs hoping they figure it out. … Or worse hoping they know someone who will get in and stick before they quit. What if we raised the integrity price of entry? How many people go from sandlot baseball to the major league baseball in one step? The industry offers paint by the numbers Mona Lisa and watches as most people color outside the lines with the wrong number of paint. Networkmarketing Pro is a great first step showing people the art of painting on a blank canvass using their materials on hand.
  • coachcarriev
Wow.....Eric,,how in the world will you keep this up! This is amazing stuff! Thank you! After listening to Dan for a short 10mins, I thought out loud,,everyone in the world needs to hear this stuff...just think about the impact it could have on their lives, not just in network marketing but in life! These are golden nuggets that help move us from average to greatness....if anything, it makes you believe that it is possible! Thank you Eric! You are great! :)
  • ducky2009
The quality and content is excellent! Love it. Thank you.
  • bethascoli
The quality is amazing! I need to learn how to do this....this is exactly what I want to do when interviewing people for conference calls...can you live stream this as well?
  • Really inspiring Eric..missed meeting you in Houston last weekend at Art Jonak's-Network Marketing Mastermind.
Now that was a life changer..and you are a great representative of this new Revolution our profession is in the middle of!
Love this new technology...and want to learn more about it. What a terrific first part of 4 part interview you have started the week off for us with DAN! WOW!
  • Great interview! I'm excited to see the rest of the week. The quality was great! Is this a Skype add on?
  • Patty: You get Skype here: http://www.skype.com/ It's free.
  • Thank you, Robert.
  • Amazing man this Dan McCormick, those kind of people gives me so much inspiraton. The quality is perfect. How did you do that with skype? May be you can learn us all use this technology? I so glad that you do all these kind of work with NMPRO. It's a fact...that I'm your biggest fan. Take care my friend.
  • ez2win
Great tool, Eric. In our business time is of utmost importance. You can't continue spending so much time actually traveling all over the world to meet people for interviews. I spent my first years in MLM chasing customers, giving a too-personalized, pampering service. You don't create a fortune that way.
I think the quality of the previous system is better, but skype does the work. Our business is work-from(the-comfort-of-your-)home. This is a great way to continue NMPro. Thanks.
  • peterragg
Excellent show today Eric, we but scratch the surface with this great industry. Raising the profile of NM is the single number one responsibility of all of us, you are a great leader. Every person needs a part time network marketing business and we have to show them how that is possible. It is not a numbers game, I repeat not. It is giving people the skillsets to be successful. What is the point of joining a network marketing company if you are not going to be successful. One thing I tell my team is treat your business as if you had paid 100,000 $ not 200$. That way you will treat it with the respect it deserves.
    Have a great day

  • peterburrows
Ain't nothing wrong with that pro. Both content and quality. Strikes me that Dan, like yourself, is a very clear thinker. Thanks again Eric.
  • robhorkings
Brig Hart ~ WoW... That is real income... All From Product moving through his network...
  • Seriously? Is this really Rob Horkings? Dude, what’s up with the pitch on NMPRO? I’ve seen this type of behavior from “robhorkings” before, it doesn’t make you look good and I would think you’d know better.
  • natestevens
Quality is more than right on for my needs, point comes through loud and clear, thanks for delivering such awesome content Eric, peace and love from St. Paul
  • Eric C.
This is the first time I've seen a video conference recorded like this, in split-screen. Sooooo coo-ooL !
The quality is very good, better than I expected.
Imagine if we could do this with our downline... firstly doing a three-way video conference as part of the prospecting and following-up process - this will add credibility, for example. Also, with permission from the prospect, if we could record the video conference like this as a training tool for the rest of the team... awesome!
  • normdawson
    Excellent quality.
  • mauricestaples
Video was better than i thought. Anyway the information was excellent and Dan is a superstar.
  • Bec Dorsey
Looking forward to parts 2,3 & 4. Quality is great!
  • I agree with you that so many people don't give MLM a chance and fold up their tent way to early. Everybody wants it now. Do do well in this professional one needs to make a long-term commitment!
