NMPRO #173 – Dan McCormick Interview 3 of 4

November 11th, 2009 Email This

In my favorite episode of this 4-part interview with $2 million dollar man Dan McCormick, we discuss the MAJOR differences between the average earners and the million dollar earners in Network Marketing.  So many good thoughts in this show.  Question of the Day (QOTD): Do you think it’s an accident that Dan will make more than $2 million this year or do you think he got lucky?

I think he has learned the important stuff. I need to also. I know some, I need to know more.

WOOOE, I can't believe what I just heard. That was an increadible interview. It is most certainly no mistake that he will reach those hieghts of success. And luck is for the birds.
  • Another great video
  • This just keeps getting better.

QOTD: There's no accident, luck or guess work there! Just consistent focus and 'diligence'.

Off subject a little but I have watched every show many times over Eric and it just dawned on me that everyone you have interviewed looks great, including yourself. They are passionate and energetic and it shows in their outward appearance, their skin glows and they look healthy. Has anyone else noticed that?
  • Josh N
    yeah you're right.
  • joelgoins
Eric...no I don't believe for a moment that Dan got "lucky", but I do believe Dan got very "passionate" !!
  • loriquinn
Thanks for these words. You guys said it and I needed to hear it. It's about being a miracle in someone else's life. Lifting people up and encouraging them to be the best they can be.
  • Dan told a similar story that my mentor had once while driving his brand new lexus at Karachi-Pakistan! Two guys expected LIFT who actually going back while working so hard from thier JOB, and while he was driving for them, They wished if they could have such a luxury CAR for them and he just make them realize that they can also DO what he DOES and they are working and doing thier best efforts for thier goals in life!!

Thanks again ERIC and DAN, every single word of this interview really worth listening, I learn a lot.

No for sure its not an accident, I realize that one has to be change to get better and things to be changed for him :)
  • Great show!!! Just fabulous with Dan!! Lord help me to be someone's miracle today!!!! I love that. No, it is no accident. His heart is in it. I feel the same way also, I have the answers, Lord.. bring me to the people who are searching.. Thanks so much for sharing!!

Do you think it’s an accident that Dan will make more than $2 million this year or do you think he got lucky? This is his passion and He has been doing NM for 25 years.
we discuss the MAJOR differences between the average earners and the million dollar earners in Network Marketing.
I am not interested in making millions in Network Marketing. My passion is comparative social history and solar energy. If I could make $12,000 per month after taxes, I would be very happy.
  • Eric, You mentioned in this interview that it took You 3 years to unlock the secret of duplication.
And You asked Dan the question why so many people quit that fast in MLM.
Well, I think - among many other reasons - that there's a big difference between starting a business and growing a business: the first one can be achieved even by takers, 'cause it's a short term endeavor - like hit and run. The second one is only working when You become aware, that You have to sow and care before (!) You can HARVEST.
In other words: You can only get (take) what You have sown and taken care of (given) before.
    'nough said!

    Your true follower!

Eric, what you and Dan said just reafirmed why I am in this biz. One of my top criterias when looking for a biz 4years ago was tt the biz itself is abt touching lives. My ''why' was to have meaning in my work. Now I realise tt my 'why' has to grow stronger in love and believing the best in my team. Thnks!
  • QOTD: If by got lucky you mean worked his tail off and learned and practiced the skills necessary to succeed then yes he got lucky.

Two wonderful men speaking from their hearts. Emotional, packed with so much great insight. Thank you. Dan you are one of my Great Lives people. right up there with Joan of Arc and Ben Franklin. Eric my first introduction to you and I could feel your kindness. Keep up the good work.
  • Another good interview, and since everyone just says "Good job" every day, I'm going to do you a favor:

You say "Be a friend, and the business will grow", but most people HAVE friends when they begin an MLM venture, and then destroy a lot of the relationships after they get involved- aside from "Well, they're doing it wrong" (which is weak because of how many people do it), what can you say to that?
  • ericworre
What exactly do you think destroys the relationships?
  • Would love an answer to this from you.
  • If a dog ran up to you and stuck his nose in your backside every time you saw the dog what would your relationship with that dog be like? That's what a lot of people do in MLM and that is one way to destroy not just the relationship but the profession as a whole.
To answer your question Bones: Teach them what to do from the very start.
  • enrique62
I think it is the needy and judgmental way people approach their friends. The feeling is one desperation, If you don't join my business, You don't care about me.
  • If I wanted to say that, I wouldn't have asked you, I would have just written what I thought. You have a LOT more experience, and from different vantage points; why do YOU think it happens?

I promise to write what I think after I hear it from you.
  • The ability to make people believe in them that they can do it. That's the #1 thing that I think separates the average earners from the million dollar earners.

QOTD - I think John Addison Co-CEO of Primerica said it best to answer your question. "People that win it's not luck. They weren't just in the right place at the right time...ALTHOUGH it does help to be at the right place at the right time."
  • Eric and Dan,

I've watched and studied every episode of NMPRO and I have to say that this is the new standard of episodes... It's fun to watch LEADERS simply speaking from their hearts as you two did today.. IT wasn't about the sale . I think this episode speaks to being of a servant to others...

QOTD: It is no accident that Dan will make $2 million plus this year. This episode alone explains it.
  • I can honestly learn so much from both of you guys. Thanks for sharing al those interesting materials to the world.
Best regard and take care....your biggest fan.
  • Heck no it is not an accident. Dan worked his butt off to be where he is today. It is what you don't see behind the scene that got Dan to where he is. He worked on him!
  • This interview will be a must view weekly until it occurs in your dreams. OR rememorize Og Mandino's scrolls. If you did it once it will take only a few short days to have it all return.

Care and diligence bring luck. - Thomas Fuller

Diligence is the mother of good luck.- Benjamin Franklin

    Everything yields to diligence.- Antiphanes

Patience and Diligence, like faith, remove mountains.- William Penn

What we hope ever to do with ease, we must learn first to do with diligence. - Samuel Johnson

Diligence - noun - Constant and earnest effort to accomplish what is undertaken; persistent exertion of body or mind.

QOTD: No accident [there never are any] Nor luck [Except as Luck is one of God's many nicknames, per Mark Twain.] It IS Time to ponder the definition of Diligence. There is a lot packed into one short definition.

    Unbeliveble.

Brilliant Interview, I will watch this over and over again and dig deeper and deeper every time - thank you Eric for your daily/weekly efforts with NWPRO and Dan McCormick I wish your were my friend in the business !
  • Bec Dorsey
Sensational. so challenging. You guys are both a credit to the Network Marketing Industry. this really is the kind of teaching and insight that the Network Marketing Industry needs. Keep up the GREAT work!
  • peterburrows
If Dan's success, and yours for that matter, is an accident, then we need to rewrite the dictionary......and don't even think of using 'luck'. If you are looking for words.... try, determination, vision, belief, caring, WORK, consistancy, ACTION. All the words that define the few. And you know..... it is in everyone! Maybe you guys will pull it from many more. I know you are helping me enormously. Thanks, Pete. 'see you on the beach'
  • Erik
I do not think he is lucky, he have a lot of skills and hes willing to work hard for him self and to help his organization. He is a NWM PRO :)
  • Erik
