NMPRO #198 – Pound the Rock!

December 16th, 2009 Email This

While at the new Cowboy stadium, I was able to enjoy a behind the scenes tour of the facility.  Two main lessons emerged.  One was the importance of having a BIG vision and the other was how to handle major adversity.  A fun look at a $1.2 billion facility while providing a roadmap for all of us.  Hope you like it.  Question of the Day:  You LURKERS, what do I have to DO to get you to show some love and comment below?!?!?!  :)   Cmon!

I'm no lurker. i'm all about pounding the rock. I must come visit you and go ice skating on that lake :)
  • aliceflanders
At this point, I hope I don't qualify as a lurker.
  • gcadrain
Indeed the stadium is WOW, but its the message that motivates me. Pound the Rock, one blow at a time and indeed the 101st time may be the time. Quitting is failure!
  • POUND THE ROCK!!! More golden nuggets for my career. Eric, I am going Pro, I feel it, I can see it.
  • Vonnita2010
Simply WOW!!!!!!!!! and YES... WE ARE MAKING HISTORY!!!
  • Jeroen Lingier
Sorry Eric, because I was a lurker.
To make it up. I' ll watch them all over and will make a comment on each and every one of them. ;-)
About the stadium: looks very nice, to say the least. I can't help it, but it also feels like it is wrong to spend so much money on entertainment in times like these. Another aspect is the vision of the 'company' to handle adversity. Here I can't but admire the way they handled that.
    Greetings,
    Jeroen from Belgium

Great Job Eric! This is my first post, I'm no longer a lurker:) This Site has been amazing for adding to my perspective and outlook of our profession. I now find myself actually telling people when they ask that I'm a professional Network Marketer, and I thank you for allowing me to have the courage and belief to do that. Happy Holidays and cheers to the rest of "The Journey".

Be a turtle. A turtle has absolutely no chance to move forward unless he sticks his neck out. Come out of your shell, stick your neck out, plant your feet on the ground and steadily plod forward with urgency.
  • We have so much precedent for success in Network marketing if the proper plan is executed. Why would you quit pounding the rock? That's insane!
  • Loved it!
    Great show

Hi Eric. I get very excited as I think about how far our industry has come in the last few years. The transparency of the era we live in is finally making what we do clear to a larger and larger group of people. We are continuing to attract the best and brightest to our profession and legitimate network marketing companies are going to continue to explode over the coming years.

Much of it thanks to you and the other great professionals like you.

  • Erik
I have not slept since 2 AM last night. I toke part of the best Webinar ever. After the webinar was over abouth 4 AM my time, I couldn`t sleep hehe. Thank you for a fantastic webinar last Night :)
  • It's incredible and it sure takes a BIG vision to do this! Not only just building the building and the facilities but also to raise the money and keep it profitable. If this is possible in conventional business in times of recession then how much more in MLM??? The sky is the limit!
  • bobmeguyer
That VP of sales would be a great leader in our profession ............ You did get his number, Eric?
  • anitagwheeler
Love your video's and your WEBINAR tonight was AWESOME. Great value and I just want you to know I really appreciate your commitment to the Network Marketing Industry through your wise mentoring.

P.S. What kind of camera are you using? Great color and clarity!
  • What an awesome video, and great motivation! Made me SO MUCH feel that I wanted to be there to see it all live. Keep enjoying the lifestyle Eric!
  • rebeltony
Thanks Eric for all of the great info you provide. You are an inspiration. I appreciate all that you do!
  • jacobjohn
Hey Eric, I'm not sure whether you do actually get time to read the comments here, but I have not missed an episode of your videos since the last 6 months and your teachings have helped me grow my business significantly and also helped me identify and overcome my areas of weakness even though I know I have a long way to go... Thank you so much for the mentoring
  • what a great video! Thanks for letting us in on that insight of how the hustle pays off!
  • Great fun Eric. Thanks for sharing your tour with us. There are certainly a lot of lessons we can learn from observing "behind the scenes" of ANY major undertaking.
I think it's all about the "hustle". You have to go out there and make it happen....hustle, hustle, hustle - and then when you're done hustling, hustle some more - just like that sales team did.
Okay, I'm getting fired up now. Hahaha....

QOTD: Yeah, c'mon you lurkers....Eric's getting tired of seeing us "regulars" all the time. We need some fresh blood in here.
  • Marina
First of all I want to say: I LOVE YOU very much and everything you do!

You have a Great vision! When you started NMPRO project, you knew exactly how it'll be. You continue to work on it each day to make it better. And I know how it's important for you. By your own example, You inspire and teach us how to become Network Marketing Professionals and really change kind of thinking in peoples mind about our great profession! You use all your knowledge, experience and passion to show us: "We have a better way!" I think a lot of people from this amazing community start to look at the profession differently, in better perspective. Keep doing this!

    I'm very proud of you!

Thanks for being my Mentor and my MAN!

    Love you,

    Marina
  • Just this: I'm going to be a big sparkling Daimond with you as my teacher, I'll bet you! You're the absolute best my friend. Thanks for sharing this with all of us..regards from your biggest fan.
  • HardyWarrior37
Eric - Are you listening! - This is in response to your call for action. This is my take.
I love it. It's clean, easy to navigate, fresh and to the point. With so MUCH content out there, I'm very selective. You're got some real value here, so keep it coming. I've read your "about" section, but I'm unclear about what this is all completely about - how do you make money?

Maybe its this - your willingness to share authentically. Recently I won a digital video camera at my wife's Christmas Party. The reason I won was by making the most sincere comment as to why I should win the camera - I said " If I win I will give it away" - and so I won and gave it to my wife.
Bottom Line - this is why I resonate with you - I feel that you get it! - meaning the Get is in the Give!
My question is what's your why? Today and when you first began in NM. What changed in the "why" and why?
Merry Christmas and Many Blessings for 2010. See you at the Top!
  • Benny Ball
Eric, I truly appreciate the training and insight you provide us on a daily basis. I live here in Grand Prairie (City next to Arlington) and can see the top to the Stadium from my home. It is really 'over the top'. Take care and have a wonderful holiday season. bb
  • Ya you have to "Pound the Rock!" great analogy. Who is going to pound the rock on 2010. I am!
  • alexander810
Wow! Thank you for sharing that with us. Outstanding message that will encourage us to work harder.
  • carybennett
Thanks Eric, I really appreciate what you do daily, And look forward to each one. Awesome
  • Marion
    Thank You Eric,
It amazes me how you are able to give so much valuable information every single day! I apologize for not showing my love & gratitude by posting a comment too. I appreciate everything you do and have learned so much - I am trying to put it all into practice and take action and risks.
  • WOW, it is huge! The biggest impression is that HD TV , absolutely awesome.
  • casspowers
Excited about tonight's Webinar! My husband couldn't figure out 'why you like that guy so much'.... Now he watches with me every morning over coffee!!!! You DO make a difference in our life:) Thank you very much for the inspiration that you provide!
  • ritafulton
    Thank you Eric,

How did you know that I am a "Cowboy's" fan. Only the Dallas Cowboy brand can come up this Awesome staium!! Genius in action. Thank you for sharing.
  • Matt Genet
Wow! Only thing that comes to mind after seeing this video is "How bout them Cowboys." I am not a Cowboy's fan but I cannot help but love the passion and vision of Jerry Jones.
  • atticuskillough
Hey, Eric. This is awesome! My alma mater (U of Dallas) is in the shadow of Texas Stadium. I used to head over for 4th quarter (they'd let us in free) and I heard many a great concert wafting over to us. I was impressed then, but WOW! Yes, that extra $700K really added a Wow factor. My brother saw U2 there recently. Said it was absolutely insane. Good metaphor for us going all out in our respective MLM businesses
  • talk about a big vision and helping others see the vision.

a lot can be learned from the sales team at Cowboys Stadium. I liked the HUSTLE BOARD, great for accountability amongst your team.

A new Dream was born from this video. One day I will be at the Field Level Club on the visitors side when the Saints play there. That's going to be fun, so thanks for that!

  • billrogers
    Unbelievable!! What a shared experience.
    Wow Factor!
    Thanks again Eric!
  • jbledsoejr
WOW...yes...WOW! Amazing...thanks for sharing! This is actually one of my favorite episodes...Eric, you've captured so much in this video...inspiration, belief, work ethic (hustle), teamwork, overcoming adversity, patience, BIG vision, etc...great stuff!

Now it's time to go pound the ROCK!
  • That was awesome! The biggest takeaway for me is when he talked about how they knew it was going to be a risk in that they would lose some of their existing customers and knew they would have to find new clientele to fill in the gap.

So many of us in network marketing are afraid of taking that risk to change our mindset. I'm not looking for people who want a 'free business' or something to nothing.

What I mean by that is this... If the Dallas Cowboys could find all those people to spend $500,000 a year on a suite to watch 8 football games, do you think you can find 10 serious people with $1000 or less who want to build this business and create financial security?

    Of course, you can!
  • Jillian
Thanks again for the inside look at the innards of the stadium. I love the fact that everything has such amazing learning aspects too for this industry while you are having fun!!!!!
HUGE vision...Pound the rock - what a visual (an 18th century phenomenon still used today). Its all about paying attention - and then putting it into action.

  • Hi Eric, seeing as you asked I'll post my first comment :) First I'll say thanks for all the amazing content you've generously created for us here. Todays was a a great behind the scenes tour to see what goes into big vision projects like this.
  • ericworre
Hey Campers! Welcome and thanks for your first post! :)
  • “When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.” - Jacob Riis
  • Fantastic video Eric. I really took note of "Pound the Rock." I am going out today and picking up a rock to remind myself everyday as to what it takes...I look forward to tonights event
  • WOW!!! "Great job"!!

Loved that behind the scenes footage... talk about "Thinking Big"!!

Anyone lacking in the "what's possible" category needs to watch this one!!
  • Carol Barrett
You're awesome Eric! What you offer here at networkmarketingpro.com is great content in an easy to understand format. Your podcasts show that you are someone who truly cares about the business and the people involved in the business. I have used your website as my guide to becoming a better network marketer. Thank you Eric for being my mentor.
  • As a former 'lurker' I didn't begin leaving comments until after I promised myself and a few others I would every day. There is a something also about until you are willing to teach something you don't begin to learn it. Leaving a comment, even if it is agreeing or saying the same thing adds to you as much, maybe more than it adds to this blog series. Come on in the water here is perfect and no ice forms on this lake. Take the plunge.
  • Great Video Eric! I think the lurkers need to build their belief to feel they have something to say. I'll give this to them.. At least they're watching and hopefully building that belief.. Thanks for Everything Eric. I look forward to tonight's webinar.

    Go Colts!
  • hpena
Awesome video. I love the "behind the scenes" theme. It reminds me of the transparancy that is transforming our industry. I think it always appeals to people to see how something was built. It makes you appreciate it much more. Here's an idea, how about a history lesson on NM. If people realize that our profession has been an accumulation of 70+ years of trial and error it would help people understand why we're reaching "The Tipping Point".

  • Erik
Eric ! Dont you remember what Jim Rohn used to say ? People who lurkes around just do that because they are lurkers :) Why is that ? I wouldn`t sign up for that class - HA HA
  • mspaulamc
Eric - great video and message ... I am trying to source out the entire POUND THE ROCK quote now.. will re-watch video and catch who said it originally - a keeper and motivator to be sure.... thank you for doing what you do - it means the world of difference for many, including me!
