NMPRO #201 – Sometimes Network Marketing will Surprise You!

December 20th, 2009 Email This

Here’s the first NMPRO episode filmed on a roller coaster.  I almost got arrested when I got off since they did NOT approve of my having a video camera on the ride, but anything for the amazing NMPRO community!  The last little clip was the view of my ride from an iphone.

Question of the Day (QOTD):  What’s the scariest/most amazing roller coaster ride ever?

Thank you for breaking all the rules to give us an example. Very visual.
  • CRAZY! Great visual. Awesome ride.

OOPS.. in my last line a typo .. I meant to say WATCH a video like this one ... so this will go in MY TOP 10

love ya ... and keep em' coming !!!
  • nancyeldred
ERIC - I love this one !! it's a great visual example of what happens - you got me laughing at myself. NWM is a state-of-mind job, and we do sometimes buy the negative bull%#@#&* from others. And if we get too many of these others in a row, we start to become depressed, frustrated, doubtful etc. and well, we get DERAILED. This is when we need to get back ON TRACK right away. Pick up the phone and call an upbeat associate in our company, do a follow up with a happy satisfied customer, put on fun energizing music - have a laugh - what a video LIKE THIS ONE .. thanks again ...

HI ERIC!! U R SOMETHING ... I GUES ONE AT KNOT'S BERRY FARM IN CALIFORNIA... SO FUN BUT ALMOST BROKE MY NECK!! BUT WOW WHAT A WAY TO EXPLAIN MLM... WITH A ROLLERCOASTER!! :) THANK U!!
  • chiatkhor
I love the way you describe the situation of our journey in network marketing, Eric. It is so true and so similar to riding a roller coaster. We may have shock, surprise, scare, worry, fun, exciting and sometimes we lost our direction. No matter how we feel during the journey, we all feel very happy when we reach our destination, just like we have complete 1 round of the roller coaster riding. To me, it is very worthwhile riding on a network marketing coaster. Wish you and family healthy and happy.

  • This was a great piece that really illustrated what this industry is like but well worth the ride.
  • CarlosVera
Wow.............that was quite a great analogy Eric! I felt like you were telling the story of my first for months in the industry so accurately!!!

The scariest roller coaster ride I ever took was about 15 years ago in Carowinds, North Carolina. I took the first seat (seat???) in this amazing roller coaster that you actually had to ride standing on your feet but sort of seating on a bycicle seat that kept you knees from bending ............it was awesome!!!

Keep coming up with this crazy shows, they are really fun yet very educational!!
  • Simon
    What a brilliant analogy !
  • DUDE... That is ONE only ONE of the craziest things I have ever seen you do.. :) Ivan.. :)
  • moisesbenaim
Great message...you are the best my friend, inspire me by each chapter. In this chapter you rock....
  • ritafulton
Gosh, what a way to explain the life of a "newcomer" in Network Marketing...I have always used the "E-ticket" ride at Disney World analogy to folks. ..Great stuff..They scariest roller coaster ride for me would be the Santa Cruz CA boardwalk ride..right out over the ocean..not sure they still incorporate the ocean portion today, but what a ride..roller coasters do not scare me, but that one did..just the sense of "space" I guess.

Thanks again for sharing thhis video.
  • Network marketing is like life...to be successful you must accept the ups and downs and persever..
  • MattinJaxfl
Great Video Eric! Breaking rules! Love it! There are made to be broken anyway. You don't just blindly follow the herd. That is why you are so good at what you do! (QOTD) Most fun rollercoaster I have ridden so far is Face Off which is a short little coaster at Kings Island in Cincinnati. Hangs under track does a loop and inverts. It actually through off my balance when I got off the ride.
  • hpena
Eric, congrats on making the world's FIRST upside-down Network Marketing Video. Life's lessons really can be found all around us.

QOTD: Superman at Six Flags Jersey was amazing and (don't laugh) the spinning Tazmanian Devil ride was the scariest, me and 6 of my friends were sick for hours after that ride.
  • jbledsoejr
LOL...I'm glad episode #202 will not be the 1st NMPRO filmed from the slammer! Great & creative illustration showing us what we may experience in our NM quests to go Pro!

I'm not a roller coaster fan so I think I have mentally blocked out my scariest roller coaster ride! LOL
  • rossdecker
    Fantastic.

QOTD: X-Scream atop the Stratosphere in Vegas is a lot of fun.
  • cool episode, you're such an outlaw.

QOTD: I love em all. the faster, the more upside down the better
  • Oh my word! The scariest roller coaster for me was a long time ago. It was either in Buffalo or Niagara Falls, I think. I can't remember the name of the place, but all I remember was that part of the roller coaster sped out over Lake Erie and that freaked me out.
  • quintaser
Before I got involved in MLM, I had the strong resolve to never, never, never go to a roller coaster, never make de bunjee jump, never go to sky dive and never jump from a 10 m platform to a pool. Now, those are some a my goals, some are going to take me more time than others, but I will be doing all of them. I am very surprised how getting involved in MLM changes the way you see life. Is Wonderful.

    Merry Christmas.
  • My first roller coaster was on the Cyclone at the Excelsior Amusement Park. There have been many since but the old wooden ones have a memorable charm. I like the ones that take more time getting to the top than they take the entire rest of the ride. Anticipation ...
  • great analogy to someones first time talking to a friend about their business...it can be like a roller coaster! great video Eric!
  • Ok Eric, Nice video. You never quit making it interesting.

QOTD: Since I HATE going upside down, I don't ride many roller coasters. But I have to say I like THE BEAST at Kings Island in Cincinnati, Oh.. The first hill takes you underground into a tunnel and I swear each time I go down that hill I think I'm going to lose my head.
  • jbledsoejr
THE BEAST...as many times as I've been to King's Island I've probably only ridden it once or twice and I don't remember much about it! LOL (see my comment about my roller coaster experiences)
  • That was fun!! Life IS like a roller coaster.... very cool!

QOTD: The Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland (I found this online to give you a taste: http://www.vimeo.com/6110474 )
  • denisekay
A fine example. I remember my first childhood ride at a park in Michigan. Remember telling my older sister to get me off! NOW.
This lurker...thats right you caught me... will be riding amazing roller coasters everyday... and we call it life. Excited for the ride :)
  • bethascoli
LOL...that was TOO FUNNY! This is what you went to the Mall of America for 5 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS?!! You really are committed. This was a really fun way to illustrate a point. Thanks for the entertainment!

QOTD: It's not the scariest, but I really like the Incredible Hulk at Universal. I think Superman is the scariest going up because it's so high (going up is the worst, I hate it!)
  • FIRED UP MANN!!!!
  • neilclements
Does it Have to be that Way Eric.....?

I remember I once did a Telephone Blast several Years ago...calling everyone on my list...worm cold or ice cubes...one of the people actually called the police on me and suggested that I was committing fraud.....what a rollercoaster that was tht I NEVER told my upline about it I assumed I must have done something wrong in the process! So are these twists nd curves and fear rights of passage or can they be avoided!
  • Mark Abrahams
Hey Eric, Thanks for what you gave us in 2009 - the fun, the entertainment, mostly the inspiration, leadership and wise words. Happy everything and a great new professional 2010 to us all.
  • You are the man Eric. What a novel way to nail the " expectations" of the new associate. I will use this today as a point of reference in our training session with a newbie that just joined our team. Thanks for keeping this program so novel and fresh.
  • This is so much fun...lol. My best roller coaster ride ever were both of them in Movie Park Germany. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFF they were awesome!!!!!! Have fun and take care. Best regards from your biggest fan.
  • Erik
PS - Why is it show # 210, I think you have switched the number 1 and the 0.

    201 :)
  • Erik
In Liseberg In Gothenborg Sweden. ( 3 hours drive from South of Norway where I live )

It`s a good thing you where not arrested haha. But I know the feeling you described. But it`s true in other business as well and also in all other parts of life :) But somehow people handle it there but not that many in their NM Businesses.

Great way to remind us abouth it , Thank You :)
  • stellawebber
I admire your guts but I don't like roller coasters at all! I never did. I hated it so much, that I told my daughter when she was little, so go with some one else or (later) to go alone. My husband hated it as well. Poor she!
But I think you are right about NWM comparing it with roller coasters! Funny! I get used to this kind of roller coaster anyway.
Thanks and have a good Holiday time and an amazing 2010!
    Kind regards
    Stella Webber, The Netherlands
  • Great idea, this one!

I have done a similar thing last October. I was in Madrid and went to the Warner Brothers theme Park they have there.
I tried the "Super Man" atraction which is a little bit scarier than this one, and recorded the whole ride.
Man, that was the scariest thing I have ever did. I creamed every second!
Some time you got to get over the limits, right?

I think this one relates a lot with the previous one... the Journey is All!

What Eric's done here is very near what Napoleon Hill mentioned in his book, "Think and Grow Rich": A Mastermind group. Not that we discuss things much, but I already identify some of the people that are "usuals" on these shows:

Rachel, Matt, Bonez and these just came out of my mind without looking, because I have exchanged some ideas with them, commenting their comments. I know there are others, many others, but with the time I guess we have the opportunity to know each other.

So, I think of this as a place where like minded people get together to grow also together!

I take this opportunity to wish everyone here a Merry Christmas. I hope to survive to the season to wish you more, before the year ends. :)

    Love you all
    Alfredo Rodrigues
  • Just a minor correction: I SCREAMED EVERY SECOND! Not Creamed... I finished as I started: dry!
  • I too can definitely relate with this analogy... This was a good video! - I hope you had something tied around your wrist to prevent you from losing your camera! LOL
  • Oh yes... It's been quite a while since I've been to a theme park but I grew up in Sandusky, Ohio and the most intense ride they had there a Cedar Point at the time was the Magnum! (First hill was 200 ft high)
  • denagottlieb
Eric Worre - YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!

Hi Eric, you rock! I thank you for going all out for us.QOTD: You may of just been on it! I saw one from back East somewhere on one of those shows that show you cool stuff.far as I'm concerned, when it comes to rollercoasters& carnival rides, they all pretty much make me sick to my stomache. but I don't mind watching others have fun on the rides.Do they keep those open even with the snow in your area?(Silly me they must or you are somewhere else!)
Anyway,I thought it was a really good discription of network marketing,I always look forward to your videos, they're the best!
  • Hans
As you can see in the latter part of the video, and in the part where Eric goes all the way up, there is a roof over their heads, meaning this is one of the few amazing indoors rollercoasters in the world, most likely the one inside of one of the greatest shopping malls in the world (I think it used to be the world's largest when it opened). Right where Eric lives, Minneapolis, Minnesota....been there seen that....two days for Christmas was very nice indoors at 21 degrees Centigrade and then walked out into a shocking -37 degrees belowing freezing point, makes your blood circulation stop...but the snow scenery was wonderful...just like here in Europe now, but the experience of an almost 60 degrees drop in temperature within seconds I will never forget, that is for sure. I think they call it the Mall of the Americas or something, if I remember it well....Quite impressive!....Greetings from Nice at the Med! Hans
  • That was freakin Hilarious!!! Loved it... and so very fitting

    X2 @ 6 Flags in L.A. without a Question!!
