NMPRO #206 – A Visual Demonstration of Insanity in MLM

December 27th, 2009 Email This

Sometimes simple little mistakes will hold you back from Success in Network Marketing.  Like one number in a combination lock, one small shift can make a huge difference.  HOWEVER, when most people are faced with this challenge, they look for answers in the wrong place.  Question of the Day:  What was your favorite memory from this Holiday season?

Great visual - nicely done Eric. My favorite holiday memory was being able to have family with me again to spend time with during the holidays. :)
  • aliceflanders
    my normal, don't have one.
  • Miguel Cortez
I can see it Cleary.... That why i need to follow the system ... :)
  • When things not great in our business:
    1. Do not ever blame anyone apart yourself. Take 100% responsibility for everything what happens in your life.
    2. Repetition on the same mistakes do not take you to NM professionalism.
    3. Pray for wisdom. Look at the mistakes you make and find out how to overcome them.
  • Dany
Nice wisdom in your explanation, but unfortunetly, if people duplicate that use of paper, MLM will finish all trees on earth lol.

Thank you anyway Eric for your work, im a fan of you.
  • I agree with Eric's thinking that if you don't obtain the knowledge and make the changes (no sense just erasing on the paper), you need to change the root cause of the mistakes one makes, THAT is what will make you successful in MLM or any Network Marketing Business.
  • nikomachi
Powerful and to the point. Thanks for that Eric
  • Alex Padilla
This is a mesage that I need to hear often. Thank you Eric.
  • geraldmorris
I hear you Eric! I'm working on me bro! Thanks
  • This was powerful Eric!
I have to bookmark this video for my downline and any clients that I have who is struggling.
    Thank you my friend.
  • well said !
  • Oh BOy..what a graphic demonstration of what so many do...and it is such a waste of time, effort and ultimately
threaten their future. That is why we need to become great teachers and trainers ourselves-leaders too. So we can guide those willing out of the subjectivity of their own "insanity" and into positive objectivity.
  • Eric, thank you for the demonstration....Mistakes need to be addressed....Once addressed they can be corrected...
  • rasdaniels
My favorite memory this holiday season, celebrating Christmas without children. Our adult children had other plans. Our christmas was unplanned and we just got in the car and visited three different cities and had a blast.
  • beautiful simple manner of correcting your ways, identify problem, choosing right principle and move onward.

    Thanks
  • meeting friends
  • Interesting video. I read something that has been attributed to many: "A sign that you are crazy is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result". I have noticed that in this profession, like in many, most people profess one way of doing it successfully. Your videos show there is more then 1 way. I just have to find "my way". Thanks for all that you do.
  • putting my goals for 2010 on paper

    Eric,
    Great illustration
  • I'll be here Eric 100+ days from now .....Happy new Year
  • Donna
Hello Eric, thanks for that great advice in truly made me look at myself and my business approach. Don't blame just look and adjust the mindset. This i will do right now for the new year and beyond. Thanks
  • Thanks Eric for this great wisdom!
I believe that we could all use a good lesson in prayer.
Here is a prayer that I use in my life:
Lord give me the wisdom to know what is right, give me the courage to do what is right, even when it is hard.
    Thanks.
AOTD: Having my wife's family and my family visiting on Christmas day and 15 people for dinner.
    God Bless!

One of my favorite aspects about our profession is the principles are for ALL areas of our lives, not just our business. This is one of the best illustrations I've ever seen. Thank you again.
  • Jeroen Lingier
qotd: my favorite memories of this holliday were the goodbye party with my former colleagues, the New Year's Eve party and the snowy landscape I could cruise through.
This episode reminds me of my two attempts to become a professional network marketeer. I printed twice the same mistake. This is why I want to learn more about the business and the way to do it, before I attempt another print. I guess I am affraid to print another bad copy.
    Greetings,
    Jeroen from Belgium
  • Thanks Eric...I am forwarding this one on to a few team members who really need this message! As always, I love learning all of this valuable information on the art of becoming a real network marketing pro. We do have the better way!
  • Wisdom is the principle thing, the act on it.
    thank you Eric
  • The harder you work the luckier you get but you have to work smart as well. Model those that have succeed in MLM. Success leaves clues.
  • Irina
I had problems with sound in my computer for several weeks, I couldn't hear anything except noise. But at the moment when you said that miracles can happen then, all over sudden, there is a clear voice and sound! Yes, miracles can happen!
Thank you Eric for everything you do!
  • Great advice, and Great way to show it!

Don't forget to recycle that paper :).

    Love you all
    Alfredo
  • Great video Eric, "When we keep expecting things to be different but don't take the initiative to make that little shift or change, then you are right, we will get the same results".
  • Stacey Levin
Thanks Eric, that was great, I pray for wisdom everyday!
  • Patricia Mujica
    Eric, you're a genius!!
I was praying for the results!!!!
  • shawncyr
I've certainly been in this position. It's frustrating when you try to fix it on your own and you can't really see what it is you're doing wrong. This is why mentors are key. Get a mentor!

Awesome, Simply Awesome!!! I believe you stepped on every Network Marketers toe..lol...but what a great way to end the year with a little dose of reality mixed with truth serum!

I just love the way you explain things. God give me the serenity.........
I read that book about a month ago. It's a really good book. at the end of evry lesson(chapter) He would have you read aloud the point of the lesson& point to your head & say aloud "I have a millionaire mind'. Too bad I wasn't able to get in on his free seminar, when he first wrote the book, you got a ticket to it for free.It was written a few years back.It is an awesome book. He writes it in a way that's interesting& easy to read. I sat & read almost half of it before I put it down.....QOTD: The nice time I had with my family.I love watching the younger kids(great nieces& nephews) when they open their presents& become really excited& come up to me & give me a great big hug! It goes all to fast.
  • julie67
Loved today's show. You certainly made the point clear. Our "favorite" memory was the snow storm here in Minneapolis! The kids just love it.
  • You're a funny man!. It's a bit like Sesame Street - LOL.
That's hilarious but man, this will help thousands. Kind of reminds me of your Plan, Do, Review episode.

For the tree huggers: I'm sure Eric was putting the paper in an under-desk recycle tray to re-use, weren't you Eric :)

QOTD: Hearing the excitement in my kids voices telling me the gifts they received. I though my 6 year old was actually hyperventilating :)
A young mind is so 'in the present' (pardon the pun).
  • Federico
Totally agree with what you say here Eric, and we all need to first identify the mistakes, then work on correcting them.

One question, do you know what % of distributors in network marketing make it to over 10K a month?

    Best regards

    Federico
  • peterburrows
Ah I'm so relieved.... I made a mess of my password and I've just resolved it.....great to be back!
Favorite memory...... well, you choose. My son in LEGO heaven at 0545 on Christmas morning, or perched in the rafters at 10 am with my finger stuck in a busrt water tank......or maybe sitting holding my 88 year old Mum's hand as we all relaxed in the evening........aaaaahhhh!
  • Mind "set"... that is the first mistake. We all need mind "resilience". One of my favorite sayings: "God helps those who help themselves".
  • Cute, but also effective way to illustrate the insanity of not examining yourself when things are not going the way you planned in your business.
  • Brilliant, Eric.
What a picturesque way of driving home so many of the ultimate truths that get glossed overall too often - which is T.Harv Ekers' basic assumption :
    1. The ONLY person that is responsible for my results is ME.
    2. The quality of my results depends ENTIRELY on the quality of my effort.
    3. There is inner work that determines the quality of my effort.
  • Good analogy. I hope you're recycling! :)

    :) Oh, I'm SOOO green!
  • Yeahh that was what i was thinking while seeing the movie.. i was thinking off all the trees.. but you made your point and i agree with you. What happens behind the scene, changes the scenario. Now i'm working behind the scene and i'm improving my game plan. See ya soon. With appreciation, Alex Tita

This video was wonderful. Personal responsibility is a must in any business. I love the revelation about praying for wisdom so we can see where we need to change; what we must do to make things better. Great job, Eric.

Eric.... Great Video. There are vids like this that nmpro posts that help me to change my thought process toward issues and subjects that I didnt even realize existed. "Insanity" in NM...who wouldve thought? Thanks for this one!
  • gabisahar
Hey Eric, you're in the wrong business, you should have been an actor, however, thanks for creating NWMPRO.
As for the question of the day: my favorite memory is spending time with my family.
    See you tomorrow.
  • hpena
Perfect analogy. I've seen how I and a lot of other people were stuck in NetwROk MarkOting before, printing away till we ran out of ink. Now, thanks to resources like NMPro, we finally know where to put our focus. We are approching that Tipping Point were we truly become NetwORk MarkEting professionals. As always, thank you so much Eric.

  • It worked! I prayed for wisdom and got it from Eric Worre at NetworkMarketingPro.com
Thanks for another great message Eric!
    I appreciate you!

QOTD: My son's excitement was my favorite part of this season.
  • quintaser
I think the best memory I have about the Holyday Season is when in the early 80´s the economic situation at home was very difficult, and at the dinner time (not on chrystmas day) my father with tears in his eyes told to his 7 kids that for that year, there would be no presents, my fahter is an awsome hard working and loving man, and even though we had no christmas presents, he showed to all of his kids the love that he had, and he still has thank God. He is my ultimate roll model, my heroe. By far, this is the must incredible moment I have ever had in my life. I love him soi much.

  • You ROCK! This is soooo true but really sad thing is, most people will just turn away and go back in Circle holding a JOB and be Just Over Broke & Jump Out Bed every morning instead of taking responsible of LOOKING at what could be done better.
  • Jerry Scribner
My best memories of this holiday season were created with my wife and two daughters while on the 7 day MLM cruise with leaders like Tom Schreiter and Art Jonak. Not only did we just have plain old fun at each port but we had workshops with amazing leaders in our profession like Ken Dunn and Orjean Saele.
  • Marion
Great information - thank You - I am praying for wisdom and working on it too.
  • This is one of the books I have on CD that i play in my car while I:'m driving. His energy changes your mindset whether you want it to or not. Great story telling this episode. Pray for wisdom, Thank you for the reminder.

QOTD: Spending time with friends and my wife enjoying each others company.
  • Thanks for the tip B. Just downloaded the audiobook.
Hope you and Deb are having a fab Christmas season.
    thanks again.
  • Great episode. I'm taking a good look at what I'm doing and the results I'm getting. That is one of my favorite books; I read it every October and recommend it to everyone.
  • Jillian
Good morning sir and thank you!

Another gold nugget to pursue - self evaluation to find the piece of the puzzle to be successful in the business. I love the analogy of 1 wrong number in a combination lock. QOTD: Family time is priceless.
  • ritafulton
    Eric,

I have a "blended" family and my favorite memory this year was being able to watch grandchildren Christmas morning. Their enthusiasm is contagious and refreshing.

Great lesson today. Praying for "wisdom" is the best.
  • Not pushing the 'print' button insures there is no mistake. That too is 'doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.' Once you catch yourself [doing it or not], you can make the correction.

QOTD: Christmas begins here the first weekend of December and will run until the middle of January. The city is empty of cars compared to most times of the year. The city is lit up for all the visitors and this years show is spectacular. My best memory so far is my Dad had triple bypass surgery Tuesday before Christmas. He can go another 25 years now easily say his doctor. What was once a major concern is a month of healing and back to work. At 82 he still gets up without an alarm clock but an opportunity that fills the day.
  • hlj521
Thank you for that reminder! Awesome training.
  • QOTD: favorite holiday memory this year will certainly be all the time I spent and how much I learnt watching a lot of past NMPRO episodes, as I just approached this fantastic profession! Thank you, Eric!
  • debbiebroome
Fantastic training......you are the bomb.com Eric.....WE DO HAVE A BETTER WAY!!!!
  • randydowning
When you were speaking about prayer it brought to mind what I found to be called the Serenity prayer. It goes, "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,. the courage to change the things I can,. and the wisdom to know thw difference". Praying is good but we are required to take action in order for things to happen. I just recently read in Roman's where it speaks about not being slothful in business. Eric you are right on and I truly value what it is you are doing. Thank you
  • jbledsoejr
AWESOME illustration! The results we are getting are just that-->results...the actions (or inactions) we are taking produce those results. Praying for and gaining wisdom will allow us to take different actions which will produce different results. Really good stuff! Thanks for sharing!
  • jbledsoejr
QOTD: favorite holiday memory this year was going to the Indianapolis Children's Museum w/my family and watching the reaction my 4 year old son got when he beat my 9 year old daughter in a race down the yule tide slide...he was in complete shock...PRICELESS!
  • bethascoli
This was a very powerful show, and it's something that I've been working on for a while now. It's been extremely necessary to stop hitting print and spend some time making changes to the "document", in fact we have pretty much had to create a new one. These shows have helped us along that process and have insured that we will start having great results. I can't wait to start printing again on January 1st!

I don't know what I was praying for before, but my prayers were certainly answered when I was led to your training material Eric. 2010 is going to be crazy!

    Beth
  • SimonDodd
Prayer is great but today I must give thanks to God for the brilliance of your lessons Eric ! Simon
  • This is an amazing show. I'm seriously working on it my friend. Thanks and best regards from your biggest fan.
  • TeachToSucceed
Powerful message Eric ... perfectly illustrated!
To change the output simply change the input ... brilliant!
  • Erik
Episode 207 was great. I`ve heard Jim Rohn talking abouth this many times. It`s not the blowing of the wind that matters, It`s the setting of the sail. Thank you for posting :)
  • Erik
Fantastic example, this is so true.
Christmas Eve(we celebrate Christmas Eve as the main event in Scandinavia ) . My one year old son and my 3 years old daughter enjoyed time with their Granparents and Gran Gran Parents. Great to have the family together and also that the kids could spend time with them.
