  • Brett
Become a good promoter!! That means become a good presenter...a good prospector! You'll go far-
  • James Osborne2461
I definitely is amazing that he had seemingly no competency, but a mere adherence to the dictates of the system, and out pops success. I've got to develop that.
  • aliceflanders
I am glad that someone who did almost everything wrong can succeed. There is hope for me.
  • Miguel Cortez
Make it so any one can do it..... It getting a large group of people to do small simple things... and get them to event... :)
  • InspiredDeb
Love the passion, and the simplicity of Dan's message. Very relateable guy.
  • Making my comment for the challenge...but since I am catching up I am skipping forward to the full Complete & Uncut version...Hope this counts and isn't cheating! LOL
  • wealthandriches
"Getting to as many new people as I possibly can and don't quit." Work as a team to use leverage.
  • The three most important things in MLM: 1. The System; 2. The System; 3. The System. Now, how is that for KISS?!
  • yitz613
Promote, promote and promote. This is the business.
  • yitz613
Become a great promoter. Levearage everything, Product, Event, upline, crossline and the tools; this is the key especially when your distributor is new. Don't do it yourself , tools provide the assist..
  • Rubina
Keeping it simple.....make sense to me.
  • meagankellytorres
Become a world class promoter... Anybody can do that. Get a large group of people doing a few simple things (promoting events and tools) consistently over an extended period of time... the Slight Edge... Awesome!
  • Elaine Baril
"Don't complicate it, keep it simple..."
  • Alex4nder
Yes! dont be the messages, be the messenger

    Very good

    /A

  • Transformationalhealth
Keep it simple and get people to look at the opportunity!
  • nelleke
It is very clear, use the third party tools and keep it simple for you. Be just the promotor. Tx
  • nelleke
It is very clear, use the third party tools and kep it simple for you. Be just the promotor. TX
  • JoeSalsero
KISS is the key. Sometimes I realized that intead of being a messenger I act as a teatchear. I like to do presentations, I like to promote. But I have to change something. Thanks.
  • Calvin Boutilier
Sounds simple, Gotta love how easy you guys make it sound.
  • Keep it simple, promote again and again
  • Looking forward to the next one.
  • Susan Peluso
I agree that promoting is the most important thing to do. It's not an easy thing to do for me getting people to events or looking at my opportunity. Looking forward to your February 3rd webinar .
  • MarvinTowler
Thanks Dan for the powerful reminder to utilize 3rd party tools to build our business. The KISS method always work. Keep It Simple Smartguy!!!
  • Don't over complicated things... it's very easy to fall into the trap...
  • margarethockaday
Keeping it simple and easy to follow is the key for new distributors. Promoting events is one way to make an introvert become a slight extrovert.
  • guydrennan
I love the idea that if you can master the art of promotion you can be successful, because it helps to focus on something simple. Dan's point of keeping it simple and focusing on the basics takes a huge weight off a new person.
  • I had to listen to this again.
    Simplicity- the basics-duplication.
Too many people are trying to re-invent the wheel when it's already been taken care in the company.

Another thing to think about is...Coachable.
Everyone I come in contact with, I tell them that no system will work for them if they're not coachable.
Some people have asked me how to be coachable. I always recommend them to a self-development program and that ALL Leaders should be involved in this.
  • travelprohawaii
Cool I can promote but I also want to do presentations!!!
  • karen and ian
#212 Wow it sounds like anyone can do this even when you mess up. So what it the problem, why can't people do this? The concept is easy.
  • seija
Keep it simple and basics, remember duplication
  • Grace2010
    Reposting. See previous post.
  • jeanalbert
Become a world-class promoter & keep it simple. Words to live by.
  • jnunez
the problem I have is with duplication, so I guess I'm not keeping it or simple enough or basic enough! The business is so simple that it is unbelievable. I guess the biggest obstacle is Fear! and you have total control on that.
  • mspaulamc
You find the people, we have got the presentation - simple and doable. Getting people in front of the opportunity is truly the key to our success.
  • this information is priceless as long as you do something with it
  • Enjoyed watching these Catto interviews the other day. Just learning how to use the system so I could comment.
  • Cortney
Two core fundamentals - getting product out to many people; meeting as many new people as possible on a continuing basis. Get people in front of the opportunity & product & the system will take over - over time.
  • nikomachi
He makes it sound so simple .....
  • chasokwa
    Great stuff
  • ilkka
Have to say, I like this and keep me going on.
  • John Boyd
    K.I.S.S.
  • ronaldvandomburg
getting people in front of the opportunity.....that's no problem for me. My problem is: when they've seen the video, how do I help people te do the next step
  • pasiaalto
Keeping things Simple and importance of promoting. Great stuff!
  • MDungey
Become a world-class promoter! It makes sense, then you really can leverage off the support you have. Thanks Eric
  • jewade32
This is probably my favorite of this series because it addresses the area I struggle with the most, getting the people in front of the opportunity. This info is Invaluable.
  • dterrell
I am learning that promoting events is a very important in network marketing. Thanks Dan!
  • Pepeneto
Simplicity, focus ont the basics and duplicity, They have been the fundamentals in the past and they are the same fundamentals today, that's why they are call fundamentals...Another great idea: If you dont have any skill in trainning, in retail or conductin a group, at least you have to be a great event promoter The process, the system, will be care itself and you will be succesfull. But I think you must develop the skills cause you can´t depend on others all the time.
  • genegrass
The primary skill >>>> becoming a world class promoter!
Get people in front of the opportunity!
Get people to try the product!
    Demonstration..not information
    Leverage is key
Been away for a few days...back wathing NMP and loving this info!! Thanks!

  • Krisi
great reminder to just keep it simple, I don't have to reinvent the wheel!
  • alltheverybest
3 more fundamentals - why do we insist on trying to complicate things?
  • 1. Simplicity
    2. Basics
    3. Duplication
    :)
  • If it's always the basics, and we all know that, then how do we transfer that to the newest people the fastest? How is this different from just palying the numbers? It's not? Well, ok....
  • Donna Wheaton, Maplewood, MN
Thanks for reminding me that it is keeping it to the basics. Keeping it simple.
  • Core fundamentals - get products out to members and to new people.....and never quit. Get people to se the presentation, and you will find those you need to find...
Becoming a world class promotor...is next skill for me...
  • Thanks for keeping it simple and to the point!
  • DianaValdez
    3. Repetition, that has been very important for me. I have seen a way bigger growth in myself, in less time, as I started reading or listening once and again and again to whatever resonated as a truth to my soul.
  • alcamacho
??? You provide the people...We will provide the presentation. Awesome! My question is this; my company has a live video clip presentation that I can email. This video is like being at a live hotel presentation. We are a new company so we only have a few live hotel presentations across the USA. Is 43 min video presentation to long for an exposure about the business?
  • annenz
Love the genuine simplicity of the session, thanks
  • mhewey
Dan is great, thanks Eric for bringing this to us.
  • neilclements
Wow Thanks Dan and THANKs eric for the Cliff Hanger Edit!I eagerly awaited the next show!
  • Eric Schindler
    Great!
  • jlt0wn
simplicity & duplication - good review
  • frankdiaz
    getting caught up!!!
  • frankdiaz
    ok just getting caught up!!!
  • daddykekere
Thank you for your definition of promotion Dan. You made it so simple and thanks Eric for asking excellent questions for the sake of us the viewers. The most profound keys are often the simplest ones. God Bless you
  • Earl
As it has been said many times before, Keeping it simple is a great key. But, sometimes it seems easier said than done... Maybe it is because I see the greatness of the business model of Network marketing... HUMMM... I guess I just answered one of my own challenges of what I can improve. Well that is something that is going to be changing! Thanks!
  • Technology may improve but the message is the same; stay committed and follow the process. Stories like these are encouraging to hear.
  • Vange01
Remember Simplicity, Basics and Duplication every day from now on...and keep moving forward
  • nancyeldred
Eric - it's like .. where do you find these guys ... ( I know it's the Law of Association)

All your guest speakers bring something very valuable to the table - they might say the same things over and over but each puts their own spin on the advise.

For me it really hit home this time - the importance of simplicity part - because it works - you do get results. it's what me keeps me motivated .. thanks alot !!
  • BobbyRay
He makes it sound simple. I have met people who have said I'll do it my way and they didn't go very far.
  • penaltybox1
I have always believed in the K.I.S.S. theory. But does not work on everything ,But for this I believe it will. If it is hard to copy someone it probably won't happen.
  • Jessi
Simplicity, the Basics and Duplication! Excellent!
  • Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep on going. You will get there.
  • etronics6
    Excellent!
  • Simplicity...Basics....Repition....You provide the people...We will provide the presentation....We need to burn this into our minds...It makes things so much easier.
  • Eric and Dan
I have watched them all over again!
    ;-)
    Christina
  • moisesbenaim
    Great
  • I love his comment "I was a perfect example of someone messing their way to the top, and I just messed up over and over again. But you know what I didn't quit"
Just keep steering the course and you'll get there :)
  • Danit
It is the result, not ingredients. It is the demonstration, not information = be the messenger not the message.
  • jodygr
I had a personal meeting with a friend, to show him the business after he had seen it in the very first months of the existance of the company - now 4 years later.
It is amazing and true - each new person brings with him his list - and we bring the knowledge we accumulated over this period and the experience. That is a beautiful combination.
  • Agneta Rebo
Just talk to people - I like that
  • Six and a half minute wonder: Simple basics, burning desire, be teachable/coachable, stick to the process, promote, promote, promote, duplicate and repeat. The mother of skill is repetition. Get people in front of the process. The process and the system will take care of itself. Over time you'll become successful.
  • since not everyone is cut out to speak, lead and train, this formula can work and it makes good sense.
  • KRT1
Promoter = Cheerleader ... I can do that!
  • Love it and want more ! Thank you !
  • steveb22
The more you talk the less you make, the less you talk the more you make.
  • rhhooker
I agree! Its about getting people to an event so someone else can provide the presentation.
  • JON FORTI
DUPLICATION & KEEPING IT SIMPLE [ THE KEYS !] WHO WAS DAN'S & YOUR COACH 22 YRS AGO ?
  • petegiokas
What stood out for me in this part was getting as many "New" people in front of the opportunity, or to an event (call, webinar, etc;). Also love what his mentor said: "you provide the people and we'll provide the presentation". People today need simplicity more than anything else! AWESOME!
  • Get extremely good at Following the system, leveraging the marketing tools and the leaders and putting people in front of the information.
    Great simple stuff!
  • I am really enjoying this interview thus far. Thank you for all of the good information.
  • KISS and TELL. Keep It Super Simple AND Tell Others To Do The Same.
  • JamesYancey.net
KISS and TELL. Keep It Super Simple AND Tell Others To Do The Same.
  • hcapcarp
These interviews will bring me to teachability, Thank You
  • susanjohannesson
    Perfect information, simple and clear!
    /Susan
  • chiatkhor
"It is the result, not ingredients. It is the demonstration, not information." This sentence 'click' me a lot. Now I understand that promoting can be easy if we work together with leverage, which Dan say is critical, and make full use of the technology. Dan describes about the 2 core fundamentals of this business make the thin fog in my mind cleared immediately. Thanks Dan. Thanks Eric. The conversation between you make me understand deeper about this business a lot. Thank u.
  • I love the basic premise of this episode! Keeping it simple! Too bad we couldn't play the KISS concert footage after this one too!
  • orlyalbo
It's so correct - Itws results - not inredients! It's demnostration - not information! Thank you/
  • Wow.. I'm enjoying listening to this so much.. I'm pretty sure you are referring to the same individual (Jeff) who is my mentor as well and he still keeps it the same.. We do the ushering, they do the preaching, and we collect the collection plate!!
  • Simplicity, basics, and repetition. Very helpful to remember.
    Thanks
  • Ben Alc
That is so true. The success in our bussines is to get people and sit them in front of the opportunity¡¡¡That's all you have to do, that is the difficult thing but once you do it the system works by it's own ¡¡¡ And of course with the time you'll improve your set of abilities¡¡
  • shawncyr
If I provide the people, my company will - and has - will provide the presentation. Get as many new people as you can to your events, your presentations. So, become a world class promoter. The caveat was that it would take longer to succeed by doing it, but it will work better than just doing it your own way. Now if you can achieve the skills of recruiting, training, etc, then the success will come faster, but the most important thing is to get people to see the opportunity.
Eric, do you know of any good books or ways to become a strong promoter?
  • Robbin
I've often thought of myself as a Promotor and I've done fairly well with my core group, but now I need to Promote outside of my comfort zone. Will work on that..
  • peterburrows
People in front of the product...
People in frony of the presentation.....
    Do it....
    Do it....
    Do it....
  • gillym1
Makes a lot of sense - Thanks Dan and Eric!
  • randers1
2 core fundamentals to focus on; getting the product out to as many people as you possibly can, getting to as many new people as you possibly can. Dan told a story that makes it become applicable to your life. Being poor with mom and dad, and having others think he was crazy. Dan consistently traces his story all the back to the beginning.

The process and the system will take care of itself.

Dan caught me off guard by talking about becoming a world-class promoter. Then he took it back to getting the people in front of the opportunity. Leverage from the support and the stuff around you. Promote means to get people in front of the opportunity? I never knew that.

Leverage the resources and tools for maximum efficiency.
  • The Key is going through the numbers to get the people in front of the presentation.
  • dstfa96
The key messages I got from this episode is to focus on simplicity, the basics and duplication and to become a world class promoter for events. Its not enough to just get the message the important part is to put what I learn into action!
  • gerritbronkhorst
Thanks Eric for you comments om my question in part 1 of the interview. It seems I was to fast with my question because I heard the answer clearly in this episode with Dan Catto: JUST DON'T QUIT. And I WON'T!
  • Natalie
    Great training!
  • chipc
    I needed this interview
  • Athletes4Health
"Results not Ingredients" & "Demonstration not Information" <--- I can do that. :)
  • danny7x
    I Love keeping it simple!
  • amberaimshigh
I love this! Promote your business! Share results!
  • Simplicity AND action, the great thing then would be, to have some one that you could look over their shoulders and see how its done....thats why this site is so amazingly great
  • greatskin
Keep it simple! Geez what a concept!
  • ericchen0121
Simplicity, basics and duplication. Simplicity, basics and duplication. Simplicity, basics and duplication. Simplicity, basics and duplication. Resilience and patience. Resilience and patience. Resilience and patience. (3d, 97tg!)
  • agelfederico
It sounds so simple, yet sometimes we make it so complicated!
Its there a secret to keep it simple?
  • marvalouslife1
Amazing!!! not more and not less!!!

    thank you again and again!

    Ron Ackerman - Israel
  • Irina
Simlicity, basics and duplication are the main ingredients in NM.
  • barryburgin77
You know, most of the activities in Network Marketing go so far out of my comfort zone and I tend to make things more complicated than they need to be!!! I heard...Keep it simple and don't quit. Through repetition, I will get more comfortable doing what needs to be done. In fact, what really is hard..is what I do for a living!!
  • wconsult
Sometimes the simple things ate the hardest. Basic idea here is to get a lot of people in front of the opportunity everyday. Go to an event, listen to a phone call, watch the DVD, try the product.
  • Simplicity is the one of most fundamental qualities to success in our business (Network marketing) I believe, thank you Dan and Eric for once again stressing this quality, i love you...
  • jean_albert
"Don't Quit! Mess your way to the top." - I can do that!!
  • John Spardella
Part 2 stirred up some real excitement for me. I can do some of the business building activities they talked about but not all. The excitement resulted because it was confirmed that at the very least myself, my team, and any new prospective partner can "promote" if they can talk, point, or hand out. No one has to have a polished skill to get the business moving, ball rolling. That's what I got from part 2.
  • Daniel W. Cook III
2010 is the year of promotion and a simple system!! This is in line with the 2010 game plan from your webinar (which I intend on doing line for line). This information you are giving out on this platform is really helping my team and me, really appreciate it.
  • Renata
how do u promote? what did u guys exactly do/doing?
  • jobnow
Dan reinforced what you said in goals seminar. Get people in front of the system. This year my focus is going to be getting more people to the trainings.
  • Keep it simple. It really is that simple. Just keep going and don't quit.
    Thank you eric.
  • bartar20
So true, keep it simple, don't complicate the process, stick to the basics and don't get discouraged.
  • Luis (Pelon)
In the beggining it's been hard to put people in front of the presentation and even we have already made some but putting them or geting together with them during november december has been hard.
  • fredspencer
Focusing on basics, keeping it simple, this is the key that I need to remember. Sometimes people have such a simple plan in front of them to follow, they turn around thinking they can make it better, then complicate the whole process. Use the tools that you have, don't re-invent the wheel.
  • manalfakhoury
I liked this interview and the importance of becoming a world class promoter.
    MF
  • Lotta
    I will keep it simpel.
  • Brynka
Keep it simple! A very good lesson to remember. I also find it inspiring to hear that he messed up a thousand ways but because he didn't give up, he's where he is today. Resiliance and patience, two key words I have to drill into myself because I get very impatient.
  • donham298
    Eric,
These are so much fun to watch and learn from. It is so encouraging that we have
these kinds of people in our business.
  • kobimilner
    1. KISS 2.Basics 3. Duplication 4. Don't Quit - it's so simple!
The amazed thing that Dano said is - "Just bring people - the procces will do the job".
I think my perfectionism ruin my business so far.
    Thanks Eric & Dano.
  • Liesbeth
    true, and yet.......
  • Demonstration, not information.

I have been thinking a lot about this and see the need to do it. The ideas I give to people are just ideas... they tell, but they won't sell. I need to get my hands dirty and do the job.

    Notes:

Simplicity, the basics and duplication - The mother of skill is repetition.

2 - things: get the product to as manny people as anyone can, get the message out to as many people as you can. You provide the people, we provide the presentation.
The process and the system will take care of itself. Over time you'll become successful.

If you need to have one skill, what skill would that be? Promoting. Become a world class promoter. If I couldn't sell, promote or make a 2 on 1...
  • AviPeer
It is great all you need is KISS Keep It Simple Stupid. and I will add that you have to be stupid not do it !
  • juanpablorico
It´s so clare Dan ...., One of the bigest chanleges of the emergent market like Argentina, it´s to build the sistem. In this way we are. Thks
  • wouterdeprez
Simplicity is essential indeed, but the second thing discussed here is maybe more important: doing the same thing over and over again. Whithout this you will struggle (as i am experiencing now:)
  • Ria Leermakers
Keep it simple and get better by repetition.
    Let's do it!!
  • Simon_and_Lia_NL
you (and other nm-guru's) said so already many times...
provide the people in front of the opportunity. it is all about demonstration, that simple.
    let's go for it (again)...

'Do not wish it to be easy, wish for more skills' (JR)... thanks S.
  • granttomkins
i hear ya on the messin up, getting things straightened out though, 2010 is out year!
    GT
  • happyhealthybob
duplication is key, i love it!
  • miguelcortez
The mother of skill..... keep simple... easy but need to do the work.... make scent to me... :)
  • rosslopez
Duplication has been for me a very difficult task in this business but it's true that if we keep it simple and learn the basics fundamentals of the business, this will be a lot easier to be followed and many people will be able to repeat and do it.

I'm pretty sure if we get those skills we'll really become a NMPRO as you are now Eric =o)

    Thanks for the sharing
    Hugs from Mexico
  • Jilliangene
Love the way you keep us want more by ending on a key point. It really is simple and I have to keep moving people to the information. This interview made me remember - "you can't do it wrong...... just keep talking to people everywhere" from one of the past NMPRO sessions.
    Love it!
    Jillian
  • KeithN
Don't complicate it. The Mother of Skill is Repetition. Let the process and the system do the people sorting. Provide the people and be a promoter. These are basic, essential, and often overlooked concepts. They are gold, if applied with persistent integrity.
  • bobmeguyer
I'm going to add this to my presentation from now on " You provide the people we'll provide the presentation" Being aware not to imply that I'm going to do it all for them, however to get started all they need to do is get people in front of a presentation so they understand when they eventually learn to give presentations they will be more successful. I'll test various versions.
  • marvalouslife1
Eric, This is Great! KISS - Keep It Simple Stu..... that's the seacret. and one more thing: "you provide the people, we provide the presentation". wow!!!
    keep on the good work.
  • samuelprice
This was a great interview! "Keep it simple". Words to build a successful business with the least headache on. Thanks, Eric.
  • Am really enjoying this interview. I love how Dan talks about how to be a world class promoter and leverage the people around you! I also love how you Eric, seem to cut the video, just when he was getting to say something and keeps me at the edge of my seat, so I can wait until tomorrow to listen to it :)
  • NexusResources
hey guys watching and commenting as agreed, Eric appears to be blushing and Dan looking a tad jaundice. But I'm not taking any notice of those minor / irrelevent things ... just the content and the message. Love ya work LOL
  • brianhepner
Quantity First Than Quality..... Get Busy Everybody!!
  • martinvf
It's greatly surprising realise that keeping a system so basic and simple with a great attitude and willingness to get to our biggest dreams can take us to a different level of life quality.

Still a greate interview... so far =o)

    Saludos from Aguascalientes, Mexico.

    Martin V.
  • coltsco
Great-I can't wait for the next one!
  • Lorraine
I tried to reinvent the wheel. Now I am on track to be duplicatable, keep it simple and stick with the basic fundamentals.
  • Emmanuel
the fundamentals shall set you free
  • Thnak you for the advice !
  • cherisizzles
I love the idea of simplicity. I have a tendency to "word vomit" on prospects. I either get too excited about what I'm telling them and end up telling them all they need to know right at the first meeting. Or I get nervous and start rambling in a way that nobody can really follow. It's nerve-wracking and exciting all at once to be actually out DOING the prospecting, and then to actually have someone who listens!! So my goal is to come up with the simple basics.....
  • david_high
Thanks Eric and Dan. Keep it simple. Become a world-class promoter. Get people in front of the opportunity. I think I can do that.
  • albertoleal
I liked the message. It's so simple, just need to follow the system to succeed.
  • albertoleal
I liked the message. It's so simple, just need to follow the system to succeed.
  • albertoleal
I liked the message. It's so simple, just need to follow the system to succeed.
  • Robin M
Itès technically Wed but still Tues for me...off to bed to contempkate another great message...see ya later tonight!!
  • It is so simple. People, opportunity, process and system. It is great. Thank you Eric and Dan
  • Some days the message seems so simple...

"the process and the system will take care of itself"

You just need to keep it simple... and "trust" the process <--- needed to hear that
  • jc13
A realtor friend invited me to come to a mastermind group that was reading and discussing one chapter a week of Jack Canfield's "Principles of Success." They were meeting in an upstairs lounge area at the PC Market of Choice, a local grocery store.

As I was in the parking lot I realized that it wasn't a grocery store really. It is an upscale food market. There are three of them in Eugene, OR and each are scaled to serve a customer demographic. Near the University it is more of a grocery store where you come in, do your shopping, and get out as quickly as possible. The market in the middle, upper-middle class Sheldon neighborhood has a sitting area, flower booth, coffee shop, deli and a little more.

The one in south Eugene, where the highest priced homes are located, is more spacious, has two indoor and one outdoor sitting areas, a couple of meeting rooms, and caters international and high-end foods. You get the idea. Follow the money doesn't only apply to politics.

As I waited for people to arrive it became obvious that I had the wrong day or time. While waiting I noticed someone who I knew, but hadn't seen in years. In fact, I had helped her move into her current home. It was Dr. Dene Eller. When I knew her previously she was director of an organization called Committed Partners for Youth. She was working with a stack of papers that I assumed had to do with her employment.

She looked up and saw me and came over to say hi. It was very nice to be recognized by someone I admired and enjoyed. Turns out that she was waiting for her appointment to show up. She is doing another network marketing company. We exchanged comments about each of our company's products.

Then up the stairs comes this 6'6" guy in a $1,000 suit and she introduces me as someone of importance. It made me feel good. I was totally jealous. Dene gave me her card and I went down to my van to get mine. I don't even have a card from my mlm company so I had to give her my contractor card.

When I came back they had gone down to the cafe so I left my card at her table. Reviewing her papers I noticed that she was working on her list and had her ten to call today. She also had her calendar out.

Why can't I do that?, I thought. How come I don't get down to the business of doing the business?

I have put a sign on my door that says "Do I have a Burning Desire?" so that I am reminded of Dene every time I go out the door. When I get that burning desire I will change it to read "I have a Burning Desire."

Another lesson that comes out of this is about the architect who designed the PC Market of Choice. Her name is Sydney Ley and we have been friends since the early 1990's. Sydney got her degree at the University of Oregon and then got an architect production job at a local company that specialized in creating signage and other store environment items. Sydney made letters.

Sydney knew the owners of The PC Market of Choice when they used to be Price Chopper. She took the opportunity to talk to them about the type of letters that were going on the walls in the Price Chopper stores. Produce is too blah, she says. Let's call it The Garden. The letters are too blocked and not attractive. She cared about her letters.

When the Price Chopper owners wanted to change their image and scale up their clientele they asked Sydney to be the architect to design their first store and she has since designed all their Eugene stores. Sydney created little enclaves throughout the store so people could have a more private shopping experience. In the coffee or wine area, for instance. With the PC Market Mastermind Team, she helped change the flow and concept of what a grocery store could be. The parking lots of these stores are full most of the day. That launched her career and she now has an account for a national department store chain.

Hi jc13 - I just wanted you to know that I enjoyed your post! I love the part about putting a sign on the door that says, "I have a burning desire!" Very present, very motivating. A good way to hold myself accountable. I hope you don't mind if I borrow this idea? Cheers!
  • Everything is for sale. The price is free:)
I am borrowing a few ideas my self.
  • claralondono
promotion to others and to your own organization....example,,,,therefore duplication,,,yes Jose!!
  • claralondono
Enjoying your conversation... keep it simple, show the opportunity and duplicate..got it
    thanks again
  • ockaren
"Get your product/business in front of as many people as you can" is great advice. I think of it as filling the funnel. You have to put a lot of people in the funnel to build an organization. Thanks for the reminder Dan.
  • caronwashington
Hey Eric..I changed my username from Kappatalize to caronwashington but Ive been here from day 1 of challenge. Great insight on promotion...like Jim Rohn said...Promotion pays big money. Promotion to the calls, the training, the events, etc. He who can promote and expose the most number of people will win
  • Margaret
Keeping it simple and easy to follow is the key for new distributors. Promoting events is one way to make an introvert become a slight extrovert.
  • dalejv
Great info, always remember to keep it simple.
  • lew hendricks
I like the concept of "you get the people to the opportunity, and let the system work from there."
  • socorro
    Thank you Eric, powerful information
  • bethascoli
Being a great promoter and getting enough people in front of the information....what Dan is talking about reminds me of a principle I learned about called "SINALOA" which stands for "Strength In Numbers" and "Law Of Averages." Put enough people through the process, and a ratio will appear. It helps if going in you know to only expect a certain percentage to join. But the more people you show it to the better your results will be!

Nobody is any good at giving presentations in the beginning, which is why tools like DVDs and web presentations are so important. Not only do they do the talking for you, but they allow you to leverage your time as well so you can show it to more people!
  • billrogers
Eric great stuff. Process and system will take care of itself. Promote-Promote-Promote
  • Steve Johnson
Get people in front of the opportunity. It's about results, not ingredients and it's about the demonstration, not the information. Promote, promote, promote... Can't wait for the next segment.
  • Another good segment . . . leverage, I like that. Looking forward to tomorrow's message.

    Dorene Pierceall
  • love it !
  • gjt
awesome information cant wait for next segment thanks
  • tjmoseid
I needed the "Keep it simple" message.
  • Mike McCoy
Eric, This is great. In order to put something intelligent on the comment page I find myself taking notes. Wow, what a concept! Will I put them notes to use? That is the real question of the day for me. To have so much important information and just to let it turn to ear dust now that is true ignorance in my opinion. Please keep doing what your doing. It is making a difference for me. Just writing something here is proof of that.
  • tambry
I like the message about mess up yourself to the Top!
  • emmettb
Again, keep it simple to be successful
  • ishapkina
I can totally do it! Just promote and the system will do the work. I have to really convey my excitement about this business to others, like i really feel it
  • Tarashon Broomes
I think without Simplicity, the Basics and duplication it would be very hard to be successful in network marketing...Simplicity is what people understand, once something is simple it is very easy to duplicate
  • Keeping it simple is what is very hard for me
I want to be the expert, without thinking that thats what the customer is thinking thats what they have to do
  • Ellis3
What resonates with me on this video is Dan's 2 keys to the 'basics' - 1. Getting the product out to as many people as possible and 2. Getting (the oppty) to as many people as possible. That's simplicity at its best! Love it.
  • Oh the KISS...if you forget to KISS, you kill, or certainly diminish, your chances for success.
  • luciabrazell
It was funny when he said he made lots of mistakes @ first which I make everyday but I am getting better so keep it simple I like that Thank yoi
  • maryjod
Great interview with Dan, Eric! Keep it simple, keep it simple, keep it simple - key to duplication. I have it posted on my visor, on my computer, just everywhere I'm connecting with people. It ALWAYS delivers.
  • It gets simpler every time I hear it, and I need to keep hearing it.
  • Cally
Take yourself out of the way and just get people in front of the opportunity KISS
  • Mark (Germany)
"provide the people, I will provide the presentation" .. "as long as you can get people in front of the message" .. those two stuck ..
  • wgbeard
    Eric,
This interview is classic. Someday when we hear the same thing from enough really successful people, we will quit trying to reinvent the wheel.
    Thanks
  • Ngoc Tran
I do agree with Dan on keeping things simple. Certainly, the simpler we carry out the process, the easier we keep duplicating and repeating. I got it. Thanks Eric and Dan!
  • crwood1967
I love the KISS method! The more people we put our opportunity in front of as many people and teach them the simple things.
  • Jim Larnish
Keeping it simple is easier said than done but very necessary. Technology allows for exposures to be readily available and simple to do.
  • Luis Gringras
Simplicity and follow the process, I think are the Keys, look easy , but doing constantly is a skill to develop.
  • georgeman
This is great, the info is simple and priceless. Get people to the plan, promote, and don't worry about messing things up while you do it. I love it! There truly are no secrets in our industry, just people that find a way to become more efficient while being driven. I will make it my goal to exercise "action" first, and "thinking" second this new year in order to benefit from the priceless time that it holds. As a student of the industry, I often find myself quoting (rarely ever exact) the teachings of my great mentors. As the late and very loved Jim Rohn my say , "I will invest all my past years experience into this new year". OK, I may have hacked that one up, but you get the point, I can't wait to see the next video in the series with Dan, thank you Eric.
  • cherisizzles
Yes, Georgeman! I love how you put it - "action first, thinking second!" Very wise and very simple.
  • a253364
I really liked how Dan stressed keeping it simple and becoming a good promoter to get people in front of the opportunity...looking forward to the next part of the interview
  • it is absolutely right, keep it simple and never forget consistency.never give up. excellent thank you.!
  • jennyc
Keep it simple, follow the leaders, surely I can do that!
  • Art D.lasvegas
Eric, another great segment. I love the way your driving home the basics of "simplicity" with Dan. Thanks
  • Magdalena
I appreciate Dan's honesty about the personal struggles he was experienceing when he joined the industry. Success is a journey and it really doesn't matter where we start does it? As Dan points out, the important thing is that we never quit!
  • donpinger
Eric your helping things get simpler and simpler every day for me. Thanks
  • mchalk
Inspiring words and realistic at the same time. Getting the product out to as many people as possible is key and letting the tools/system do the work for you...excellent interview.
  • mikeyfromvegas
Whats up guys again GREAT job, I will say this is the key I beleive I need to move my business to the higest level. I need to and will carve these lessons in my brain if I have to watch them 100 times ea.
My mentor Jay Coburn once said " what the LEADERS have to say is only GREAT if you apply what is said then it becomes GREAT STUFF " Thank you for your time
  • LisaR2010
Thanks for part 2, and for giving us the info in pieces. It allows time to meditate and put these practices into our daily lives. A world class promoter. I can see myself being this promoter. KISS and promote. Winning combination. Tomorrow......... :-)
  • onemartymac
Keep it simple...Meet New People... Repeat... Meet New People... Repeat and Don't Quit! Great part 2

Messin' my way to the top!

    Thanks

It's easy to see why Dan is a leader in this industry. I want to thank him for his willingness to share his expertise. Aided of course Eric by your great interviewing skills!
  • karivankleef
It is comforting to hear that those at the top struggled the same way I have. Keeping it Simple for some reason is not easy for me. I am going to work at becoming a World Class Promoter and keeping it Simple.
  • einargh
Simple. Get the people infront of the opertunity, OK.
  • enriquecaz
NMPRO is a ligth in the dark! thanks Eric!... me and some friends have felt comforted to here that Dan passed through many things we are living in our profession, as somebody said he is a real person as we are, and we can do as well!!!...

REPETITION!... the mother of all skills!... We´d like to be "at least a 100% efective" inviting people and have them in front of our oportunity, but we still don´t take the voice recording device and "invite" again nad again and again!... and even worst we invite, poeple don´t appear, we get sad and we stop inviting, we stop repetition, we won´t have poeple in front of the information and we will keep in the same place where we are!...

I hope I don´t hear myself only complaining, but I am being sincere here, and trying to take really to mind we have a lot work to do with ourselfs... don´t want to hear me like cheearing, but really doing nothing... for now, I´m being consistent with NMPRO and commenting each show ok?!...

    Thanks Eric!...

P.d. Sorry for my written english ok?!... and Let´s keep telling the world!, WE have a BETTER WAY!!!.

I take comfort in the fact that Dan stumbled his way to the top and wasn't good at presentations! That is what I have to improve on this year and also work on just getting people in front of the opportunity and let the tools do the work.
    Thank you both!
  • tyroneholmes
I like that keeping it simple..if you can promote you can win.
  • timandtrcia
Promotion is king. By using effective tools and events you can leverage your efforts. Hopefully Dan will give his thoughts on how to effectively promote your opportunity outside your initial warm market list.
  • Alvaro Rodriguez
Well, I`ve haven`t seen yet today`s show but I just saw the 210 show so, I`m here posting.... guess for sure that I will be here tomorrow.
  • Naama Aharoni
Great Interview! Getting people in front of the opportunity.
I used to have a problem with that. I have decided a few months ago to focus on how to invite and questioning skills. Now, that some time has passed, I can see how my conversations with people got better and how my posture has improved. I have definitely more people that come and see the opportunity. There is so much to learn and I couldn't be more excited for the next lessons!
  • Frank Diaz
Just get people in front of the opportunity and show the product...Simple, Basic,(fundamentals,) and Duplication. Don't ever quite. With hard work We will make it.
  • juliehawkins
    Eric,
I want to thank you and Dan, Because i was writing down some of my goals and one of those goals were to have more people get on our business webinars. Leveraging the support you have is awsome this is exactly what I had in mind. WOW thanks again.

    Sincerely
    Julie Hawkins
  • Hi Eric I will never take any thing or any one for granted again. Thanks #3 posting and counting.
  • kencollard
Nice to see that Dan is a real guy and stumbled through presentations as we all have!!
  • Steve_Nelson
I know I can succeed in my business because of what Dan said in this interview about being horrible at everything...if I just get people in front of the opportunity over and over and over again, I can win. He just gave me hope! That's why I'm here! Thank you again Eric :>)
  • susanclark
You validated everything that I have learned about being a successful network marketer - burning desire, coachablity, great work ethic. Also, what do we teach - simplicity, the basics, and dupication. Thanks, Eric and Dan.
  • CarlosVera
To keep things simple actually sounds easy, but it’s really not that easy. When you take your time to think about how you’re doing things you realize how good you are at complicating things instead by trying to make everything perfect!!
    Can’t wait till tomorrow…………….
  • Thank you, Eric and Dan for your insight. You both are an inspiration for a newbie! I find my enthusiasm to be my downfall some times, I want to tell too much rather than let the process do the "telling".
  • Grace Alves
    I am here, as promised
  • Bea Resnick
You don’t have to be able to everything in order to be successful. Even if you can’t retail, recruit, train or do calls, if you consistently get people in front of the presentation, the system will take care of the rest.
  • Avromy
you provide the people... we will provide the presentation!
  • tylerwhite
Eric you are a master promoter...........you know how to keep people in suspense just like with how you edit your interviews. :) Great interview
  • magnelordahl
Thanks for your second part of this interview. Important to be reminded how important it is to do this business simple. We humans tend to complicate things. What I have learned lately is to use what already exists of webcasts and video presentations, and let the system make the presentations. I have learned that the system is bigger than me. Easier to duplicate if we keep it simple.
  • GlobalVision
Honored to be part of this community.....the information is truly priceless and I have recommended it to everyone one of my leaders! Thanks Mr Worre for your commitment, courage, and discipline!!
  • I like the suggestion to just take care of bringing the people and the rest will be handled by the more experienced uplines.
  • Wow. I am glad you follow your own advice of simplicity (the website), the basics (fundmental topic content) and duplication ( i know I have heard the repeating messages over and over :)).
    Thank you
  • tjsknmp
Still at it - just checking in.
  • HoracioMejia
I summarize today's show in two short ideas: Get people in front of the opportunity and leverage. That's it. The system and all its machinery will take care of the rest. As simple as that but at least for me not as easy as it sounds. I am sometimes having a hard time facing my fear of promoting the opportunity. I am working on that. Great interview.
  • Ron M
The freeing idea that really spoke to me is how truly simple network marketing is as a business. Driving prospects to the presentation. This is great stuff!
  • deniseschnitzer
I love the K I S S lesson: keep it simple, sweetie. He is very to-the-point. Love that interview.
  • andreabyrge
It's comforting to know that all the great network marketers weren't so great when they started. I am grateful to those who are mentoring me and and helping with technique, encouragement and stressing the fundamentals.
  • Thanks Eric and Dan I'm taking away the fact that essentially success is down to becoming a world class promoter and of course a lot of repetitive hard work. Thus next next is set up systems to generate as many situations as possible to present the opportunity. Unfortunately I believe this is where people have problems because most people in any given downline will not be able to repeat the same marketing systems. Essentially it is contrary to keeping it simple

Hopefully forthcoming shows will get specific in terms of how to find people to present the opportunity to. I feel the days of approaching your warm market are off the mark now and limiting.

Personally I'm looking for a system that is limitless and generates new prospects every day. This will have a cost attached to it and it would be great to hear from others how much they spend on marketing each week / month. I don't really see this key question being answered online, but in my opinion it is the reason why one will fail or succeed.

I look forward to hearing from others.

    Cheers

    Andy
  • JudasPierce
    Keep the info coming!
  • Jose Lopez
Great point about promotion. I'll take that "promotion" concept one step further. Promotion within the organization. Leading you team by example.
  • tommycone
I know in my mind to keep it simple and show more people but I have a hard time doing the showing. Thanks for your show. Tommy
  • "Getting people in front of the opportunity." Promoting. Simplicity, fundamentals and duplication. It all makes sense to me. I like everything about MLM. My mind understands the benefits and completely agrees with the system. I think this is the best form of business. That's why I immediately joined after watching a DVD. Just one view of a half an hour DVD from the company. Together with my sponsor's input, of course.

BUT how do I get better at getting people in front of the opportunity? By doing it over and over, I guess. I love this whole thing, and I think everyone can benefit from it. But I cannot communicate it well to people yet... I've always been a listener. How do I become a promoter? By changing my mind set, I suppose. I'm trying and experimenting. I have a vision. I need to learn to paint it in front of people so they can see.

Few weeks ago, I had an opportunity to spend a day with my upline Diamond Director. How fortunate I am! I heard him talking on the phone with people. I watched how smooth he communicates with people at the restaurant and promotes the products so naturally. He created 2 prospects just like that while we were at dinner. It was truly amazing and so inspiring! What an awesome example to share with his downline!

Eric Worre is offering a greatest gift to the world by being an online mentor for a large number of people. Thanks Eric. Looking forward to meeting you soon.

Also, I'd like to thank everyone who has been in this industry and contributing to its growth. It it wasn't for you, none of this would be there for us to join and prosper. (I’ll keep my comments shorter from next time. :))
  • Two great reminders from todays show, and this is what we all need to focus on: 1) Getting People in front of the Opportunity and 2) Leverage from the Support around you.
Som easy to get sidetracked these days with all kinds of technology, Pay per Click and Marketing techniques - it all comes down to the Basics!
  • I dread meeting new people but, once I do, I want to show them all the info I found... I don´t though. 18 to 20 minutes is sometimes too much. I am trying a way to present the whole thing in a couple of minutes and give a sample. The hardest thing is to set up the next meeting.
I love this back to basics and you both have the most wonderful smiles. :-)
  • gloriavintila
It strikes me again, as I hear Dan talking about his beginnings in the profession, how so many rockstars in our profession "messed up their way to top". It's comforting, this way we see that it's OK to make mistakes. However, let's not be all too confy and become lazy and sloppy thinking: "Eh, those millionaire guys made so many mistakes, let's make some as well!" and screw up on every occasion. Remember they made those mistakes working really hard and being convinced that they are working towards something great. In a few wise words Randy Gage said recently: "The opposite of success is mediocrity. Failure is actually a part of the success process".
  • joelgoins
Eric...great interview with Dan...keep it simple (KISS)...never hear it too much, whether your business is 1 day old or 1000 days old!!
  • clairecameron
Makes me think of "we are in the events business" in the webinar. We do our first on January 14th!
  • lynnhall
I agree with the 2 Core Fundamentals and getting people in front of the opportunity and simplicity.
  • Connie Tolton

  • paulsoto
Simplicity is the key of life...
  • Get people in front of the opportunity. This is fine. It must be a simple and basik process using XXIst century technology. Remeber people are busy. Do not waste their time.
Looking forward to the next part.
  • nikigombis
I have made my five comments. Not sure if they are on the right page.
  • Arnold Thompson
I really do love the simplicity of Network Marketing. It's a people business and I'm a people person. Technology is great but I am such a novice that if I had to do everything online like the internet marketing "Gurus" try to teach, I would fail miserably and go broke so quick my head would spin. Keeping it simple is the best thing for me and I love hearing that from a hugely successful person.
  • Tsafrir Rabinovitch
This is the perfect business to keep things simple and continue ...
  • Dylan Cooper
Great interview and I can't wait for tomorrow's clip. I think I've been quite regular with viewing but admit that I have not made many comments before. I can see that a lot of people are going to gain much from this challenge.

By the way, anyone else in the UK think we are useless at handling the snow?! You'd think there had been a major natural disaster!

  • talya_mitzafon
We have an amazing business. Our business is very simple. I didn't say easy. The more simple we keep it the easiest it will be. To keep it simple and to do this business in an effortless way, one have to be a Network Marketing Pro. I am here to leran all the secrets of NMPRO.
  • What a great series! Love this interview! Thanks Eric! Great information!
  • BetterCoffee.dk

    Great stuff again!
Personally I come from a marketing background, so I've been used to being the one inventing strategies and resources etc. I find it hard not to complicate things (for myself) by constantly trying to reinvent the system.

I believe that what I'm really looking for is a good way to approach people and get them in front of the information without prejudice. That's hard! Lots of anti-MLM prejudice out there!

Oh well - I guess I'll have to accept that most of the people in this world have been trained really well by society and have given up most of their free spirit....

I just have to hurry up and find more of the free thinkers!

Thanks again for helping me to lift my spirits!

  • ido_aronson
    Did you notice this?
(Well, I am sure YOU did, but did others too?...)

On November 3rd 2009 you had a record of 271 comments.
    January 1st it was 645, January 4th 642 !!!!!

It seems people are actually willing to get off their ....... if there is a good enough reason for it.
In this case they KNOW there is a good reason - the “Players Only” webinar...

This has to do with BELIEF...
Maybe one of the next episodes should talk a bit about that again.

Great interview by the way :)
  • Another great video from Dan and Eric. Echoes your advice from the "Best Year ever" webinar regarding promotion - simple and obvious but we all need to take action and let the process work.
  • jlconner
Eric: Great stuff again today. I really like the approach of: Get people there and I will do the presentation. I am going to really stress this to my distributors.
  • Layla
When is the right time to talk to new people?
I've looked at a number of new people. My problem is when is the right time to talk to them about the business? Speaking of products is easy, but I think it does not lead to as much as the business of talking about the actual business.
What if I have a feeling that it is generally just a lot of negative thoughts towards network marketing?

    Layla from Finland
  • Robertdiggsjr
Great info, cant wait till tomorrow!
  • feltricks
Those are the fundamental things that people are not willing to do.
If people only focused on get people to the room and let the leaders and the system take care of them, the process might be unstoppable. But that is the most simple thing that most people don't do.
Meetings make money... so bring your people to the meetings and make money.
    Awesome stuff so far.
    Thanks a lot.
  • lorijones
Getting people in front of the information was great for me to hear, even though I know this it's easy to do, yet easy not to do! Thanks for this great message. Lori
  • aileens
The message of simplicity is so basic, but we forget it in trying to explain too much, too soon. Thank you so much. You give me so much hope and excitement !! Looking forward to tomorrows lesson.
  • drkay
Frankly, I am relieved. I can identify with his initial inability to do any of the actions necessary for success, but he could get people in front of a presenter, a tool, an event. I can do that. This gives me hope that although I have have been in this industry for years, seeing no measurable success, only being a consumer... I can, over time, see a measurable success. At least by staying with this challenge and doing what is recommended. Thank you again for the motivation to step up, and at least come out of the shadows.
  • As always Eric thank you for telling the truth .....this is what Network Marketing is all about. Thanks for leading the way to success.

  • Edith Kohler
    I'm waiting for part 3
    thank you for this one

    see u tomorrow, Edith
  • geraldmorris
This is the first time I've had the "system" explained to me this plainly.
I've been putting it in action the last couple of days and I'm feeling more confident as I go.
    Thanks Eric!
  • Just getting people to events can bring you to success in this business. Pritty simple, isn't it? It is possible if you have support from the team of enthusiastic partners plus the skills to invite people to events. You cannot do it alone. That's why we say that this is a team business.
  • juanfernandogutierrez
I have made all the mistakes, did not follow the system; when I decided to follow the system my business explode!!

    Follow the system NOW!!!
  • WOW POWERFUL Training...
Staying in the game long enough, will always pay off.
  • Denise Cox
It's so nice to see someone this successful admit that he did it all wrong at first. Made all the mistakes. Personally, I'm more intrigued by the person who is honest about the struggle, the work etc than the crazy income potential etc. Hearing Dan authentically express his challenges is so validating for me. Thank you Dan for your transparency - it is obvious to me that this is a huge key to success! - denver
  • nickgarrison
I liked the fact that Dan was honest about his beginnings and it is reinforcing the fact that you do not have to be perfect to start with. You just have to do it. Something I am telling myself over and over
  • demonstration not information... use the tools...... exposure, exposure exposure....
  • cristiansolari
Great information, in fact that's what I need to improve!!
  • I totally agree with the message of keeping it simple! I bucked this idea at first when I started out in network marketing, but I quickly realized I was knocking myself out of the game by complicating things and bringing "corporate world" ideas to this business.
  • hpena
Don't underestimate the power of Keeping It Simple. I heard this message for about 9 years before I REALLY started to understand it. I recommend to do some Critical Thinking about what you are doing now to build your business, are you Keeping It Simple?
  • latachia_2
Keep it simple.Get them in front of the info.Promotion. Leverage. Great video.I'm going to have to watch this one again& again.
  • Consistency is huge... just have to be consistent at inviting and you will be successful!

    Thanks Dan and Eric!

    Brian
  • TAbrams
Dan relates exactly what my mentors have taught me, and I truly believe is the key to having a large organization is being a GREAT Promoter. If we can get people in front of the opportunity, the system that we have in place will sort everything else out. We should all want to have more and more "Real Estate" at all of our events, (weekly meetings, conference calls, regional and International events).. This is not an easy business but it is a simple business. Keep it that way.
  • Eric & Dan thank you for all this information.
I find it so inspiring to hear the first steps of a million $ earners.
To see that they are just ordinery people that even messed up in the beginning :-).
If they can do it so can I!
  • Vonnita2010
I LOVED IT!! IF U PROVIDE THE PEOPLE, WE PROVIDE THE PRESENTATION!! U KNOW EVENTUALLY AFTER A FEW PRESENTATIONS THEY WILL DO IT ON THEIR OWN!!! THAT IS WHY PROVIDING THE PRESENTATION IS NP FOR ME!!!
  • BGivan
Dan seemed to stress the importance of being a promoter. If you can put people in front of the opportunity, your chances of success go up dramatically.
  • Great reminder to get people in front of the opportunity. A lot of seeds have been planted, but not too much rooting taking place.
  • elenaz1
Just to realize how hard it was to build this business 20 years ago, and now we have it all to keep it simple, duplicative and fun! And still hear complaints. Wow I'm so embarrassed.
  • pech
Keypoint is, don't stop. If you continue to sow with seed, you will sometime be able to harvest.
  • Repetition! We've gotta keep hearing it! Over and over again!
  • Episode 2 0f Eric's 100 episode Challenge Throw Down- Believe it or not Eric, It is a challenge for me to watch every day, but as the 1st Scroll says: "I will form good habits and become their slave." I am currently on day day 23 of the First Scroll and NM PRO is one of my daily habits now.

I watched this episode 3 times. Promotion trumps all other skills. I heard this loud and clear today... Thanks Dan and Eric.. Great Stuff today!
  • marycalvillo
Keep it siimple salesman - that's what my dad always said...still true today! Thank you for the reminder.
  • Leveraging other people is important, especially early on. You don't have to be a product expert to sponsor new people. Dan makes another great point, you don't have to be the best to be successful. You have to be consistent and results will happen by default.
  • TerryGracy
Another great interview. You just keep us hanging on, don't ya! The key is keeping it simple.
Now, if our new people would just get over lifting the 2 ton phone. Fear of the unknown.
  • roberthirabayashi
Been putting ads on Craigslist, and getting a good response. Keep up the activity people!
  • rayrios
K.I.S.S...& Rears in SEATs...Genius!! Why are so many of us are affraid to inivite, pick up and bring to the meetings prospects?? Fear of Success maybe? Thanks for the repetition.

    Ray & Linda
  • I'm reminded how church and Network Marketing are similar by this episode. My pastor at my church once said. Get them into the seats and the message would keep them there. Great concept for one rings true for the other. thanks for the reminder.
  • cmattern
Good info. I really like that it all just boils down to how many people can you tell/show this to? If they are ready and open, they will jump in. You can't say the right thing to the wrong person, and you can't say the wrong thing to the right person!
  • mariasiro
hello! thanks for the show again. That is right, get the people in front of the opportunity and they will get excited. I am waiting for the next part of the interview.
  • lbusby4
Keep it simple and don't try to reinvent the wheel. That is what I need to let sink in. Just use the process and duplicate. It may be a slower process than I was expecting, but I will push forward and learn to be better. Thanks for the advice. Can't wait for parts 3 & 4.
  • Lisette
    The keyword is "simplicity". ´
I´m really looking forrward to participate theese 100 shows.
  • eugenejohnson
hey eric great show i love the line Leverage is king.... your getting good at cutting the videos at the right time.....way to leave us in suspense!!!
  • This is very interesting !!

    looking forward to know more.
  • ioana17
I am so HAPPY! I finally succeeded to create an account with Disqus to be able to comment.
Yes Dan is great. Great reminders. I like when each video is finished: exactly when I want to hear more!
  • julie67
I think Dan is great! What a terrific example of someone who worked hard at the right thing and is now being rewarded. Anyone can do this business if they want to bad enough. Get people in front of the opportunity and watch out! Thanks Eric for the GREAT info. You are the BOMB as my son would say.
  • Never realized how important promotion was. I have been focused more on retailing. Great insights.
  • Dave S
I'm enjoying and learning from the comments below as much as the presentations. I've been challenged with the ability to convince people to come to a meeting/presentation or that my product is too expensive. So how do we keep it simple, basic and duplicate. Well I think I found it below from fellow NMPRO "denagottlieb" who says, "Ah? you want to get it more cheaply? Come to a presentation and find out how". Something i will utilize in the future. thank you Eric, Thank you Dan and Thank you denagottlieb.
  • Carlos Perez
So, if I put People in front of the opportunity, promote my organization will grow.
  • kgadol
Enjoyed it ... 3 simple things. Get it down ... let it become "habit".
  • jerryscribner
More great insight, "you provide the people and we will provide the presentation", become a master inviter, Jerry
  • Tony
My greatest failing has always been promoting. I have accepted the reasons - scratch that - I have accepted the excuses people give me all too easily, and all too often. Any chance of a show on this topic?
  • quincy
This business is so simple. Just by being able to promote, and not the best promoter, you will be successful in spite of the skills you lack in other areas. Great stuff.
  • quintaser
About the basics, Vince Lombardi took the Green Bay Packers to win the early super Bowls focusing in master the basics, he didn´t change players, systems, etc, he focused in the Master of the Basics. Our industry has so simple basics, that as than Dan says, just bring people, we take care of the rest until you can do it, nowhere in this world is the same, competition and the rule of the strongest.

    Wonderful MLM world.

    Have a great day.

From Puebla Mexico, I am Sergio Quintana
  • jc13
I remember reading somewhere that in preparation for the Super Bowls the first thing they did was go back to the basics. Basic blocking, conditioning, running, plays etc.

I was a huge Bart Starr fan and have been a Brett Favre fan since he came on the team. My Dad is a Packer fan and my Mom is a Viking fan. The have a $1 bet on the games where they play each other. My Mom is way excited about her Vikings this year.
  • quintaser
Like the 99% of The Mexican's, I am a Steeler from the bottom of my heart, since 1982, but I am very happy about Brett with the Vikings, he has had a fantastic year. About Lombardi, he made an incredible mistake, he didn't formed other couches, maybe they were not used to at that time. When he arraived to Green Bay, the press asked if he was going to change some players, the system, the tactics; he answered that not at all, just mastering the basics, and he did so incredible job with that strategy, that the NFL trophy is named after him.

    Have a great year.

    Sergio Quintana
QOTD: Who do you think is going to win this year's Superbowl?
    I guess Tampa Bay (jijiji)

Seriously..."Leverage" My favorite point made on this vid.
  • mrmauriocrawford
I'm feeling the the same way as kristibateman... Leaves me wanting more. Cant wait til Friday to see the entire interview.
  • destrie
That is so true, we have so much leverage to use these days because of technology. It really is a matter of who's willing to step up to the plate and learn the skills they need to become successful in this industry. Thank you Eric!
  • kristibateman
Great Show. Always leaves me wanting more.

    Amen Kristi.
  • shif54
great show. I like his background.... gives me hope!
  • shif54
    Great show.
  • gmeyerson
I love it, I know I can promote and get out of the way of the message, how simple is that
  • racingworm
Leverage from the support around you . What a unique comment that most people wouldn't even think about. I know for myself that I don't use my sponsership line enough, but it's nice to know that you can still be messed up and still make it. Gives us all hope ( or at least those people that are messed up ). I think the hardest part is just getting out of that good old comfort zone and getting it done!!
  • Daniel Glez.Peña
Hi Eric Keep it simple is the best for our business.
Hola Eric Hacerlo simple es lo mejor para nuestro negocio.

    Saludos desde México.
  • Matt Genet
Two sentences that stood out for me were demonstration not information and results not ingredients. Which both go back to keeping it simple.

Promote, Promote, Promote! Common theme within every interview. Million Dollar Earners you have interviewed are now unconsciously competent promoters. That mindset is part of who they are now.
  • lauralopez
    Hello Eric
Great interview I am awsome. I will work to make the things simple, because many people in this time, is looking desperately for opportunities but they want to make things easy and simple.
And if we coach them to look for his dreams, his desires, provoque willing to work and we still open to learn new techniques, do over and over I agree that the duplication come automatically.
    I really like these
The pople wants result not ingredients
The people wants demonstration not information
If we can just get people in front of the opportunity, the leader can provide the presentation, putting the people in front of the process, the system and the opportunity, will take care themselves,
this is a very living example that helps people to succeed in this kind of business and don´t quit
    Other important thing is
Getting people to advance, when you help people you advance automatically, help people to find his dreams, help them to make his dreams come true so your dreams realice sooner and
Promoting your business, your product, your attitude, as you promote yourself you will have good results in your business
  • Marie
It gives me some much to listen. I will remember to keep it simple... Thank you
  • turjcxg
Hi Eric, yes it so helpful to hear million $ earners describe their messy beginnings. I know I'm not alone!

So the PROMOTING skill is very important, especially if you're not too good at the other fundamentals. I want to learn to promote better. I used to work with a bunch of computer people so we weren't the "exciting" type and promoting is a little difficult for me.

Will you do a show on PROMOTING? We're the prospect you are inviting/promoting to attend the business meeting to hear about the opportunity. How do we do that, especially if our personalities are normally very quiet, plain.

Thank you again for all of the work you do on this show for us!

Also, I purchased the book you recommended on an NMPRO show. Remember the book The 50th Law? THANK YOU FOR THIS RECOMMENDATION. I read the whole thing and realized after this show and reading that book that I've failed in network marketing before because I didn't find a way to cope with the boredom of repetition that is such a big part of our business. This is definitely one emotional skill I need to get and master so that when I hit those moments of boredom I can keep going through them.
  • For a newbie, this is good, really good information, thanks!!
  • jayvannostrand
really liking Dan!..simple but powerful...he really boils things down to their most important (and actionable) essences...looking forward to the next episode!
  • bdsfortune
Its always good to hear from top money earners in there company that admit they where a mess when they started. people that fail the most are the ones that are the most successful! DONT QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Pete
Leverage from those around you. Don't try to reinvent the 'system'. Great advise.
  • dougharkins
Keep it simple, put the people in the seats and the money will follow.
  • SJ Doug
Well it seems that I need to become a master of promoting
  • brigittapatel
    Two pearls today:
    Mother of skill: Repetition
Get to as many NEW people as you can.
    Thanks a million!

  • John Coonley
Great information. On my way to a 3 day conference tomorrow to learn more about leveraging through technology.
  • stephaniesterling
WOW, Eric & Dan ... what a fabulous way to kick off 2010! Simplicity, duplication ... the ART of PROMOTION!!

I was so foruntate to have learned from the late, great Mark Hughes and at the time I had no idea the power of the simplicity and wisdom of his teachings. For the first 2 years I reinvented every wheel I could find.

Once I learned the simplicity of mastering the art of promotion, simplicity & duplication everything begin to turn around.

He taught to learn to promote 3 things: the products, the opportunity, the events. If one mastered promotion and using the tools and events ... virtually anyone could be successful.

Thank you again and looking forward to tomorrow!
  • Eileen
Thank you. Keeping it simple is such a good lesson for me. Not as easy as it sounds!!!
  • gerrynickerson
    Become a world class promoter.
Let the tools do the work.
    Thanks
  • Vern Trabue
Success is a process! Understand and own the process, and stay committed, you will become successful!

    Thanks again Eric!

Not quit! that´s the way to succes
  • fc34615
Simplicity - One of those skills that many of us have issues with when posed questions such as:

    - What is the meeting about?
    - What would I have to do?
    - But, tell me more about it before I actually meet you?

Our objective shall be to find a way to spark their interests w/out necessarily delivering the "message". I always try to remember to try to be the "messenger" and let my company be and deliver the message.

    My best,
    Fernando Cadena.
  • eabus
Good to see a successful person who says: I messed my way to the top.
There is some hope for us then.
  • carybennett
Yes Promoting and Prospecting is key. Thats what i am on a mission to do, just more encouragement thanks
  • gabor73
    Hi Eric,

Thanks again, doing the Basics with simple things can get us where we want :)
  • gmolina
The thing that really struck me was when Dan said "Not Quiting" even when messing up was the key to success just by showing the opportunity, and relying on support thats around you, big stuff!
  • Frances
Thanks Dan and Eric..great information. It is so easy to get distracted that we forget the basics. Thanks for continuing to remind us
  • simple and consistent will build the business over time, meetings provide the personal relationship aspect that is so important
  • carolmcwilliams
I have never really thought of myself needing to be a world class promoter. Wow This has opened my eyes to an entirely new way of looking at my business. Inspiring and engaging others to get to events so my Company's culture can do the rest. This interview is chock full of nuggets to take to heart and absorb.
    Thanks
  • highimpact0406
Awesome information! I am so motivated to apply these principles and they are very congruent to a teaching philosophy I use in my other profession! The application for me will be smooth because of that. I love the concept of simplicity, my challenge now is to get in front of people! Thanks Eric!
  • Gustavo Muñoz - Colombia
Sometimes we would like to do in our way. What is important is to keep it simple. It is a matter of putting the maximum number of people exposed to the system. It is that simple. Thank you for this interview
  • lopazelasane
Wow..thats a home run in this video...
  • Connor J McDonald
A great point was made about how so many people try to stray away from the system, myself included. When I first got started in Network Marketing I was so eager to start making money that I came up with some pretty strange ideas on how to do the business, before I had even learned the basics of it. The important thing is to make sure your team members understand the importance and duplicability of your system and as long as they truly understand, it will be very unlikely that they will try to reinvent the wheel.

    To your success,
    CJM
  • Bjorgli
Sure: Getting the people in front of the opportunity!!!
Getting the people to try the product!!!

Simplicity , Basics and Duplication - K.I.S.S = Keep It Simple and Sweet !
  • liora
Yes. MLM in order to be atractive to others needs to be simple.
  • rmonte
Constant promotion and bringing new blood to the process is the key. New blood is the lifeline of our business. Thanks Eric.

    Rick M
  • Eric, who was your mutual mentor 22 years ago? NSA.... Jeff Roberti? :-)
  • Great clip - this is where the tools become SO important for us. All we need to do is get them out to as many people as possible! As long as we're willing to do that, it will help to make up for any lack of presenting, training or 'slick' recruiting skills.

Also, I've noticed you're getting MUCH better at clip editing, Eric. You're using the 'cliffhanger' ending very well!

    Best,
    Scott
  • Ok, this guy is good! Why is it that we get stuck and forget about being a world class promoter? Yes, I do believe that by getting the people in front of the process and opportunity WILL take care of itself!! I've learned a good lesson here, that I need to do more promoting.
  • jpmendoza
It must be important because I keep hearing the same thing from so many leaders, to keep it simple, get people to an event, learn the basics.
  • JeffLaChappell
keeping it simple and promote using the tools we have,Thanks Eric
  • pollyhulseman
Simplicity and never quit! I like it!
  • germanjaramillo
Well, i think in this oportunity that Dan aproach us to one of the best important things to have a success in a MLM company: To Follow the System. I define a System as something simple like this: A System is a Methodology (the process to do the business) that function with a a specificals tools.

It's very important to follow only ONE SYSTEM at least during 2 years to really prove it and have results. I have seen in many times, how the people when go to a seminar or to an event, and the person in the stages talk about any strategies which function for him o her, and some of them in the sits say: "Yes!!! that what i have to do since this righ moment!!!". Then, go to other seminar or big event, and they listen again somethin special and say..."Yes!!! that what i have to do since this righ moment!!!". I think there is a mistake. When we go to an event or special seminar, the firs question we have to ask us when it finished is: Is than in my System?

Have a great day. Let's see you tomorrow.

    GJ
  • Keeping people in front of our industry or product is SO important. I am trying to just "sift and sort". Some will do it, some won't, so what- Next... Using the tools we have available today as Dan say's should make us explode our businesses. Just getting the people in front of the opportunity or product and everything else will take care of itself. "Let the system" work for you and use the "leverage" available. Do not try and "re-invent" the wheel. Promote-Promote-Promote
  • lisabooth
I keep hearing the same things, keep it simple, learn the basics and duplicate but most important, don't quit! Hmmm, there must be something to it! Thanks for the hit for the day. I'm off!
  • raybeattie
Keep it simple, keep it simple. I try to hard to complicate the process.
  • Oh, man..... I was just getting into it, and then it cut off. You're teasing us Eric. Haha!
Good stuff here. He's reiterating the point of "get good at one thing" with the example of promoting.
  • Quote of the day: "You provide the people, we'll provide the presentation." Thanks and keep em coming!
  • It's typical to quit before you really started because you think you can not do it. Then simply roll up our sleeves and ........ wait for the next episode .... tomorrow .... ;)
  • Ted
Can't wait to here the key he is going to tell us on how to promote.
  • Sometimes I learn more from what you do in an episode then what is said. For example when you edit the cut off. Just like you've said each event is just to move you to the next event. The cutoff provides anticipation.
  • Yes recruit to events, recruit to events, and keep on recruiting to events! Keep that pipeline full!
  • BobandPam
    Can't wait!!!
  • Zeissy
Leverage... hm, never thought this way... but again I'm new in this industry:) Great stuff!!!
  • Bryan_in_KC
Results, not ingredients .... too many ingredients ruin the recipe.
Demonstration not information .... just demonstrate, don't go on information overload.
Leverage from those around you .... leaders know to surround themselves with people that know more than they know and can do what they find difficulty in doing... even if it's temporary.
Promote, promote, promote ... without promotion, there will be NO results.

    Good stuff.
  • Quitters never win, winners never quit!

As Randy Gage says, it's quite important to have people going into a funnel and the more people get into the funnel the more people you will recruit.

I agree, when you're not having the results that you are expecting is because you're not following the system... Go back to the basics!
  • Mark Dickson
Thanks This is just what I need to hear. Try my product, go to this web site, and let the system work over an over and over again.
  • bernadette
Don't quit. Get people in front if the opportunity. Those were the two things that stood out for me.
  • cmattern
That's what stood out for me, too. Something we know, but it doesn't hurt to have it knocked into us some more! :-)
  • bartonmurray
Dan's the man-simplicity, basics, duplication-that's all you need. Talk to more people...great stuff! Cant wait for number 3-thanks!
  • How easy it is to focus on everything but the basics. Promotion is the one key skill that no one else can do for you. If you are 'open' for business, you need to let people know. Thanks for the refresher.
  • kellylanley
Great info - goes along with an episode I watched in the archives last night about prospecting and building your team by getting your prospects to the 'next event' and setting up that 'next event appt.' at every event. Such a simple concept that I had NEVER heard in 8 years of mlm!
  • You know it really is kind of funny... success in this industry...in any industry...is all built around the ability to promote and leverage .... becoming a great promoter can really assist people while they are working on some of the other skills that might need some improvement ... promotion is a big leverage tool ... and now days we have so many tools that we can use to promote... GREAT reminder... Dan and Eric you ROCK !! Another cliff-hanger Eric...??? LOL
  • I hope Dan will give some examples on how he promotes weekly events....great show!
  • lisamb84
An effective invitation to look at/listen to information or to attend a meeting is so important but so often not taught. Teaching specifics to a new team member builds confidence, which will lead to success. For people like me, that invitation can't be disingenuous or be full of hype and "seller talk", as Ms. Stud calls it. This skill is sorely lacking and desperately needed to restore and protect the reputation of our industry.
  • Jim Thompson
Thanks Dan for reminding us it is all started with the basics.
  • Thank you so much for this information. I am new to the business, like 1st week ever and will use this information to become PRO. Getting the product out there and getting new people are two things that my company stresses and I didn't understand why, now that question is answered. The next is the "how" ?
  • andreas
great stuff Dan! Great stuff Eric!
  • JenniferDu79
Encouraging, we know intrinsically those who are successful struggled but it helps to hear it. If they can move past it so can I.
  • I totally agree that becoming a world class promoter is key as Dan mentioned, even if you are not good at the rest. In meeting with Art Jonak, he talked about his start in the Network Marketing industry as an inviter. He was good at inviting people. Thanks for the great advise. Look forward to tomorrows episode where Dan will reveal the KEY! Make it a great day!
    God Bless,
    -ed
  • Keeping it simple reminds me of the telephone game we played when we were kids. I remember from kid #1 to kid #25, by the time the message got to kid #25, it was a totally different message than when it started.

The simpler the message and the method is what will make the duplication happen down the line. I also believe that it has to be made known when new people come on board that there is no 'doing it your way'. This is the system, this is the message... this is what everybody follows and what you have to follow, too.

  • ritafulton
Dan is very refreshing. I had forgotten the day to day basics while attempting to learn the "latest social technologies". So from now on stick with basics first and allocating time to learn new techs, not other way around. Focusing on results not ingredients and demonstrations not information..less stressful and better time management for sure. Gads, we can get so wound up in "stuff and fluff" that we forget to breathe and KISS.

Thank you both Eric and Dan
  • If you were just going to have one NM skill, that skill would be promoting. That gets people in front of the opportunity, and THAT will lead to success.

True happiness is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose. -- Helen Keller
  • brunocyr
This converstation reminds me of Randy Gage's book How to Build a Multi-Level Money Machine: The Science of Network Marketing, on the basics of this industry when you get started is to PROMOTE. It's in direct relation to your comission check too. Setting up appointment, PBR, one-on-one, 3-way call is and always will be the basics... to promote.
  • Stephen
Listening to a highly successful individual admit to all the faults I know I have is motivating by itself. Persistence, persistence persistence.
  • PaulineP
Along with my coffee, this is a kick start to my day.....fuel for my brains and attitude! Thanks
  • dlinkhart
So that's the way it's going to be, leave us hanging on the last word, impatiently waiting for the next video to find out what he's going to tell us next.
So now instead of feeling pushy, I am going to be better at follow up and keep asking questions. Thanks!
  • Oh know you 'didn' end this video with "One of the KEY things is this . . ."!!!! Now I wont be able to sleep tonight. lol See ya' tomorrow.
  • What a tease!!!!! Dan is bringing us back to basics and reinforcing everything we've learned.
  • breynolds
Bring your people and show them the opportunity. From experience this seems harder for people with lower influence. How do you tell them, after cancelled appointment after cancelled appointment, that they are the ones who need to grow personally before they can truly promote?
  • AdvocareJax
Getting people to events is definitely important. Does Dan offer any tips on how to promote impending events?
  • Duplication... how can I get the team to understand the importance of it?
  • I checked out your website, congratulations on the weight loss program! The accountability you’ve got there is awesome. Keep up the video journal, I’ll be checking in from time to time to see how you’re doing. No doubt you’ll reach your goal.
  • duhamel
    Another great learning session...
  • CINDYSU
One of the leaders in my company says, "The richest people in network marketing master the art of recruiting and promoting," and "Always be promoting to the next event whether that is a one on one or meeting or anything." Dan reinforces that concept. I really do love it when a successful leader says that they were bad at the basics when they first started. It inspires me to push ahead inspite of my awkwardness. And OMG, Eric, I can't believe you are finding time to repond to our comments! That makes it seem so much more personal, and I really feel you are mentoring me! Thanks again!!!!!
  • garyparmenter
Keeping it simple! Get people in front of the process, in front of the oppurtunity. The system will take of itself. Go find people! Develope the skills to promote along the way. (Ready, Shoot, Aim) This is great stuff for this newbie!
  • smreed
We truly are lucky at this time of being in our profession because we have as Dan said INSTANT ACCESS to so many various forms of tools & instant presentations. So this alleviates the stress & worry of having to do a presentation yourself....it's plug & play! But what you do need is to stand tall, have confidence & posture to invite & fill a need, fill a need, fill a need for the person(s) you are presenting to. Any doubt in yourself & the prospect will feel you don't believe in what you are even saying to them.
  • Marion
Promote & expose - Got it.
It is always satisfying to me to hear that successful people messed up on the way to the top.
Gives me hope and belief that 'winners never quit & quitters never win'
  • A real estate associate once told me instead of Keep It Simple Stupid, he liked Keep It Simple Sexy. Says it's more positive.

I’m loving the changes to the website, looking good!

I’ve got an idea for the site for new people to the community. Since we all have accounts now how about a feature that will keep track of which episodes we’ve seen. That way the new people can start at the beginning and keep their place as they work to catch up and not miss any of the episodes.

For my partners I’ll recommend they watch at least 2 shows a day (next in line to catch up and the current show) until they get caught up.

Great interview from Dan Catto so far and looking forward to the rest. He’s obviously a true Network Marketing Pro.
  • kgoren
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who's messed up. Still learning and realizing that keeping it simple and keeping to the basics is THE best approach.
  • Jeroen Lingier
I think it's interesting that some of the millionaires of today were the on the bodem when they started. As Dan confesses today that he made so many mistakes and had to train himself into becoming a good speaker,... He just kept on going and learned it on the way to the top. One fine lesson, if you ask me.
By sharing how they had to promote in the past, it becomes more clear to me that we got it easier, which is just great:-)
    kind regards,
    Jeroen from Belgium
  • Keeping it simple is key. Promoting the presentation is an awesome idea for the new people we bring in. Some are so stuck in "I have to be successful before" mentality. If we can get them to simply promote the presentations, they can be successful so much sooner!
  • You expect people to respect your intelligence and your space, so put that always in front of you as the way to treat other people. Know your product and remember to keep it simple and be honest. Simple formula but one we all need to remind ourselves of continually. Thanks for reminding us that the vehicle is there, and that we just need to get in and drive it to make it work.
  • Great information...keep it simple, offer the products and put people in front of the business. Thank you!
  • Maxwellhealth
There it is again..."Leverage"...Leveraged Income is directly related to Leveraged Resources.....be the resources of Team, Media, Corporate Events, etc....Leverage!!
  • kayanita
OMG, this is keeping it simple! Get the product in ppl and gettin ppl in front of the presentations. Promote your socks off to get them to Events! YES!
  • Another teaser ending....but still filled with great information! Fundamentals are key! Thank you for all that you do for us!
  • chriskemp817
Another great segment! Dan gives us the one common denominator in MLM. Get people in front of the opportunity. If you get another people involved you will be successful. What an encouraging message!
  • Darnell
I enjoy being simple and not complicated so that's a plus. Promoting can be done although I will be testing my comfort levels but I'm going to work on that. This is useful indeed looking to you two from where you've been to where we all are today!! Thank You!! Looking forward to the next video lesson!! :)
  • Simplicity, Basics and Duplication and then skills to promote something, thats what I am working on with full devotion.

    Thanks!
  • keithraines
Get people in front of the information our one fundamental responsibility. We are looking for people that are looking. As Nathan Ricks said- People at 12 o'clock. If someone is at 5 o'clock we can not force them to see the information we can only invite. Fulfill your responsibility and the "system" will take care of its self. Sooner or later you will invite someone at 12 o'clock and they will join your team.

We must dig through a lot of dirt to find precious stones. Remember to not focus on the dirt. Keep looking for the jewel! Listen to Jim Rohns Parable of the sower!
  • Kathy
Amazing! Sometimes it's not easy to keep it simple. For some reason people like to complicate everything. Thank you!
  • anitagwheeler
KISS.....Keep it Simple Stupid. I have to remind myself everyday. It is a lifelong lesson in everything and it seems particularly in this industry. Good reminders and life lessons too!
  • peterragg
    Hi Team
"Getting people in front of the opportunity" is the no.1 skill you need to aquire. This is fundamental in building a large business. You "need to master learning to invite" (Eric's 2010 Your Best Year Ever). This way you become a Master Prospector.
    Kind regards
    Peter Ragg
  • FrankMarshman
The reason we need our upline/mentor is because we have no creditability. The consistancy of the system is it brings that creditability to new people. Good stuff
  • jbledsoejr
If all else fails...promote, promote, promote, and promote some more...get people in front of the opportunity. Simple, yet great advice! Thanks for sharing this timely message guys!
  • We can all get people even if it's to get the product to as many people as possible.
"Results, not Ingredients" and "Demonstration, not Information" was HUGE for me.
  • William M
This is awesome, the one thing about this business is that you truly can start over everyday. Seeing this
interview just keeps instilling the Immutable laws of this business that one can go back to for course
correction. I feel like I did when first introduced to this industry with a consumer electronics company.
The message is clear back to Basics! I for one am truly greatfull.
  • denisekay
Dan Catto's story is so helpful. Remember the D's!
  • Gakungu
Another point put forward. Filling up your pipeline is one of the greatest keys to be successful in network marketing. Sharing the opportunity to as many prospects as possible, involving them, and using your mentors to edify the business opportunity (Expose, Involve, Edify). Thank you Eric and Dan for the information.
  • Hai
Good stuff !!! Can you provide more advice in how to be a better promoter on a later show? Thanks for being my daily resource to learn from...
  • "Getting people in front of the opportunity". Simple. Brilliant. Now that's a fundamental!

So it's safe to say that one of the actions we need to accomplish is the "Invitation". How do the "Invite"? How do you learn the "Invite"?
  • Solid message. I won't take it for granted.
  • Wow! Look at all the comments. It took me more time to go through all the comments than to view the video two times! There is some great information here.

Simple does not mean easy. Repetition is some number every day. The 'struggle' in the beginning, middle and end is always attempting to get it right when even knowing there is no right or perfect offer or invitation. Randy Gage says "You cannot say the wrong thing to the right person!" Finding them is job one. The 'system' will do most of the work if you let it.

Bill Britt's numbers are a useful guide. He 'invited' about 40 new people each week to "Look" at his business opportunity. He was not the kind of guy people said no to either but he insured them they could say no and out of every 160 a month who were given the opportunity to look on average only 27 said yes. He sponsored on average 5 out of every 27. Multiply the numbers by 120 and you have his first ten years in the industry. Half quit, 10% worked it and 2% made him millions. If inviting a dozen or a couple hundred produces no results is a reason to quit, perhaps the lack of commitment in the first place was one of the issues and their excuse for saying no.
  • rebeccaharms
speaking of repetition...hearing the process over and over again, rekindling the belief, is a great jumpstart to my day. NMPRO accompanies my coffee in the morning and sets my motivation for the day, for the journey. thank you
  • All these segments will make an awesome guidebook.
  • Greetings from Brasil to Eric and Dan, and to all of the great team here!

I am just loving this daily coaching...and it is free...isn´t that great??? I always struggled working for my own enterprises in my life and this is the first time I work for a company where I have the opportunity to receive free coaching...all I need to do is to get it and to use it in my mlm, for my own and for my team.
You are really an amazing marketing professional guy, Mr. Worre! I thank you for that!
  • heatherbrocklehurst
There's already so much great information in this interview and it's only the second segment. I feel the need now to go back and watch more of the past interviews that I missed. And I'll be sure to promote them to the rest of my group. ;)
  • Awesome, keep it coming.
  • Mailen
Dette intervju er som en vitamin.
    Hyggelig.
  • peterburrows
ok, my arm is now officially cut off ! My broadband router packed up the weekend and it will be Friday before the replacment is here. So I am here on a mobile plug in, but it is not powerful enough to stream the video........So I promise I will watch all at the weekend and post in arrears.....do I still qualify.....PLEEEEEZZZE !
  • spf46
We all need to remember to keep it simple.
And promote, promote, promote. I needed this today!
  • rasdaniels
WOW, I need to listen to this again. I hatd that it stopped, can't wait for tomorrow. If I can't do anything else...get people in front of the presentation. Be a promoter. "You provide the people and I'll provide the presentation">
  • Don Harrington
Promoting events is one of the keys. If there is anything anyone should work on most, it is promoting events.
  • Congrats on the site change.. i believe is more appropriate also from marketing and value given stand point
  • Nancy
Wow that went fast, can't wait for the next one. "Getting people in front" of the opportunity/presentation - boy, I am really weak at this. Would like to know HOW to do this. Only at #212 and already have much to work on - thanks so much for this great info, it is invaluable.
I am waaaay older than y'all and just starting in this profession, but want to be just like you when I "grow up". Wish I knew you both 22 years ago!
  • bryantkeefe
Keeping it simple is so complicated. Thanks for this awesome series. This is the right message at the right time. Cheers!

    Bryant
  • Ah, simplicity, repetition, duplication equals a system. There has to be a system that a majority of prospects can follow. The fundamentals will never change.

    Keep it coming, great information.

    David
  • Bob and Pam
    Good Morning Eric!!!
It's a beautiful day in the Ozarks.....Even if it is sub zero out there, but Oh How we love to start our day with you. I mean, how many people can say that? With such a great lesson of the day. We've heard it & heard it. But, today we REALLY heard it. Thank you for that......
We don't know if you view all the replies, but do you mind, looking @ our reply to IOpen? Thank you again for ALL your time. We know you have little of it. :)
  • jeffhaslam
Eric, it's amazinig to me that we've tracked similar paths ( NSA, TPN) but because I didn't understand the principles that Dan is outlining it is taking me soooo long to get it together.....yet i'm still very excited about 2010's possibilities and well beyond.
  • Jillian
Wow I love this interview. So many nuggets of information. It is always refreshing to hear how successful people today have "messed up" - certainly gives hope to the masses. Ending each segment with a cliffhanger is very enticing.
  • Lots of people have such a hard time keeping it simple!
  • I had actually forgotten the bascis Simplcity, repetition and Duplication.

Thanks Dan for your candid and very direct, honest presentation.

I do still wonder when one has done all the task suggested what is the missing ingredient? Maybe this will be revealed tomorrow. Perhaps we have not all 'failed' enough as yet.
  • Dee_Canada
K.I.S.S. ..... it will never change, and until I keep that in the forefront of my daily actions, I will remain where I am. Keep pounding it into my head and I'm SURE it will stick eventually!! I love this gentleman. He feels so real and I think many of us can relate to him on a personal level.

I also like your very real admission that parts of our business are quite repetitive. Again...you bring it back to a personal level to remind us that it's not about being on the stage...or the front of the room all the time. It's about the daily tasks...making the list...exposing...following up...brining people to meetings...the basics first and always.

I'm reminded of a person with a paper route. Every morning there are the same actions to take. If you follow the steps...the job will get done. If you skip steps, (ie-windy day...you don't put elastics bands around the paper before you toss it on the steps)...you'll end up with a mess all over the place and people irritated at you. Do it right...each time...and the result will be what you want!

As usual, you bring us the people we need to see. Thank you Eric!
  • "One of the keys is this"! Cut-off until tomorrow..URRRRR..I am really enjoying this series of interviews Eric..and just frustrated that I have to wait until tomorrow to get the answer to "One of the keys in emerging markets is...!" Love this stuff...I feel the gaps in my own knowledge are being filled in FAST and I'm becoming a much better teacher, trainer, and leader! This is exciting stuff Eric! You are giving us the map to the treasure-all the golden coins are there for the taking..and it is absolutely about the journey!
  • enrique62
    Trusting the Process
  • fredlund
Tomorrow morning cannot come quick enough.
  • iOpen
One thing I would like to hear about is this....and this comes after reading al the positive responses to the simple idea of "getting people in front of somebody else's presentation", with which I never used to have much of a problem during the time, when I was involved in my first MLM-company, which had a great Training Center just 20 minutes from my home in Amsterdam. Now, I am based in Nice, South-France, trying to build from here, but here there seems to be nobody doing my business but me and our headquarters gave me one person to contact in Paris (900 kms up the road) who does not respond to my emails, so basically I'm doing this all on my own in a new country where I am very much still learning the language to begin with, so putting myself in front of a group in my broken French might also not make the most pursuavive meeting in MLM-history ever.....what do people suggest me to do....I am determined, so I will definitely get there, but maybe your suggestions can help me to get there just a little bit faster, which would definitely help my situation....Thanks y'all!
  • Hmm... I wish I had good suggestions for you. Just a moral support for now.
Best wishes! May all of your dreams come true!!
  • mbryant
Good stuff, Eric and Dan. Keepin' it simple and let the process work. Amazing how we tend to get in our own way...
  • Katie N
I am really enjoying this guy. I've made mistakes too. It's nice to know I'm not alone . I am taking notes here.
  • anthonyviglietta
I love how Dan messed his way up to the top. This gets back to a theme that I've heard on just about ALL of the interviews. Never give up.

P.S. I love the new format of the website with the categories on the left!
  • Tina
Perfect segment for those of us who still feel very insecure in our abilities!!!
  • Shifra
With your encouragement I hope to make this the year for me- duplication in a simple way is the only way.
  • Goldie
Keeping it simple and duplication are the core fundamentals that I have to work on. I have to keep on doing this. Thanks for the constant reminder. This is going to be the year for me!!
  • carolbarrett
Keeping it simple has been really difficult for me--it can't be that easy I thought--boy was I wrong. Getting people to look at the business opportunity, and the product, is the key. Thanks for reminding me Eric and Dan that this really is the business to be in.
  • ulla99
To get people in front of the opportunity sounds easier than it is., but when you find their need it works.
    Best regards Ulla
  • iOpen
Right you are Ulla!....The key to getting people to listen and to making money:....Find a problem, solve the problem, find a need, satisfy the need.....its all about needs and wants of people and there are oh so many....because where there are people, there are needs and wants, that's for sure! You only need to find a way to get them to express them and that takes building a little bit of a relationship, by showing interest and asking questions, lotsa questions, that's the key to get them to talk and then all we need to do is listen and they will give us all we need to get them hooked for life! Grtz, Hans@France.
  • beetally
My biggest question is how to get people to the meetings or presentation? So far those who have joined my business never attended, it was more personal relationships. But over time I can see where this is not beneficial because others won't leverage the tools because they won't know about them.
  • Randy
You and your guest speaker tell me the same thing. Keep it simple, offer the opportunity, let the system work, and for some unknown reason I can't do that. Can you tell me why?
  • ;) You find the people we provide the presentation ;) sweet
  • Simplicity and getting people. I love this! Make use of the tools to share the message. This is really simple but not easy. But is all about learning the skills and using the tools to get the job done?
  • conniegleave
Eric & Dan, YET AGAIN you leave us 'twistin-in-the-wind' wanting more...LOL!

Getting people in front of the presentation is the easy part?? What's so easy about that, she queried?
  • ybimbalanced
That is deffinately the key, get people in front of the opportunity. Can't wait for tomorrow!
  • theuns
    Eric

Can i say again ,Thank you .

If people can stay at the simple thing that work
and apply the law of repetition they will make it
    in MLM.

Some time people don't understand that the simple easy
    things do work.

It is like planting a Tree the hardest work is planting the tree
there after you just need to water it every day and it will start to
grow and it is Easy to give a tree water but you just need to
keep on doing it , after it grow in full it will be stable as a rock.
but then you just be there to pruning it and still give the water
now and then. And we just need to apply it to MLM that is all
    you need to do.

    Regards
    Theuns
    S.A :-)

  • In my comp. we have webseminar 20+ times a week. As Dan says, how easy can it be?
Just invite people to the seminar..
  • drpricedc
In any business, it is simply a numbers game. No matter what business you are in, the first identity that you must take on is that you are a marketer of that business.... the technician second.....marketer first.... Dan hit it right on the head, promotion is key. If you get enough people in front of the tools, the numbers will work out. As you develope a pattern of statistics you can then determine predictably how much outflow you need to produce in order to elicit a given amount of inflow/income....this is where predictability and stability come from, then you add in the residual income of network marketing and you have a beautiful business model that can provide the lifestyle of your dreams!
  • Kjell Englund
Learn the basics, keep it simple.
See you tomorrow, same time, same place :-)
These lessons is a nice part of my personal training
    /Kjell
  • Foord Yates
Motivation > Organisation > Perspiration > Invitation > Invitation > Invitation > EVENT > People in a room in front of a confident presenter > Question Time > Answer Time > Membership Form > Repeat

I like the way Dan said: The key is this ..... [end of video] ... I neeeeeed the next video now!!

    Foord Yates
  • jeffreyhall
Basics is the name of the game. Don't worry about make a mistake, put yourself out there and go for it. Learn from the mistakes, get better with time but most importantly - don't give up!
  • Cee_G
Once again...another great cliff-hanger! I hope shows 3 and 4 get into even more detail as to each step Dan took. The general fundamentals are great, but the actual implementation, the actual steps, are what I want to hear. Thanks Eric!
  • veronikakari
Very interesting idea, I have experienced that people are not even willing to come to listen and if they are comming, the presentation is often done in a way that "this is very easy" and people start to worry what is wrong with this company if they say it is easy.
  • gabisahar
    Dear Eric,
    I got it.
I'll provide the people, my downlines will provide the people.
You'll provide the presentations/opportunity, I'll provide the opportunity.
    Thanks once more.
  • hlj521
What a great show! I love the simplicity reminder, it is easy to get sucked in to thinking that there is a different way when in reality getting people in front of the product and or presentation is really the key. Creating relationships is so vital! Thank you Eric!
  • samdieli
Thank you thank you Eric and Dan! Fear is one of the reason many will not ask their friends, family or new people they in front of the presentations or process. Therefore the perfect reason for not seeing much results. Dan you hit on the nail when you mentioned about new people knowing that they can do it faster, better etc etc....I hope many of your listeners new and veterans resolved to stay on this course until they succeed to whatever level they have set their goal. Next TQ.
  • nateforrest
Great episode....the true meaning of the "numbers game" and the "law of numbers" is revealed in this episode. Many look at this as a negative, meaning just recruit recruit recruit and see who sticks! Thats not what the Law of numbers is at all. It means that no matter who you are, new or experienced, you have to keep funneling large numbers of people through your system and in front of your presentation. This business really is that simple! Build relationships with people. Then get as many people as you possibly can in front of your presentation! Luckily, today we can build daily relationships via email autoresponders and many online marketing methods. This gives today's generation of marketers NO excuse for failure! :)
  • iOpen
Thanks for your comment to today's NMPro-show #212. I have two question for you, first: what is / are (email) autoresponder(s) and how should/could we use them to grow our business or (maybe easier to answer and more specific) how do you use them and secondly which online marketing methods are you referring to, those that send videos automatically in our name like my company offers A***MediaOnline.com or do you mean Facebook, Twitter and others, and if so, which ones do you recommend/use? I would really appreciate your response and many thanks in advance! Hans@France.
  • Rosa7
It's great that you share this info with us .thanks
  • Technology is good to use, but it all is about relations and communication ... as we start communicate with different type of technology/media, our business will adapt changes sooner or later.
  • gkamlm
Great reminders about how going back to the basics is always the best way, never try to reinvent the wheel.
  • drmikempa
    Excellent info!
  • patrickmcfeely
Eric, another good show dan and you. I like what( denagottlieb) said getting them in front of the presentation, now is my time to share and invite.
  • clickjt
I really like the new format of the site.
I haven't been able to find a mentor but I like the company that I'm in and the products that we sell. Right now I'm using the company tools and website. NMPRO and other resources are helping me to become the sponsor that I wish I had.
  • So much key information, promoting, leverge etc. Looking forward to tomorrows show
  • I like Dans comments ands thoughts about back to the basics. Network Marketing is simply recommending and promoting. People already go this everyday most just dont get paid for it. We do! I am going to use this message keep it simple in my business this year.
  • Great show Eric. Keeping it simple and down to basics is always the foundation.
    See you tomorrow.
  • Damijan81
Great point on promoting events, we get trained a lot on this in our business and it encouraging to hear dan also give his story. It seems to be a recurring theme.... A lot of the top money earners in our company all have similar stories when they started, and the only way they could get to the top was to learn how to promote the events, the upline expert whether a 3-way call or DVD or a meeting until they got the belief in themselves and credibility. I think its like dan said in the last episode and again in this one "We need to get out of our own way and leave the baggage at the door"
  • tomlacey
Sounds like some sage advice. As a new direct marketer, I am always trying to memorize all of the products to be the information source for new recruits. It seems that promtion and leveage of your team is the key!
  • soxfan071
Keep it simple. Stick to the basics. Repetition...finding one thing that works and doing it over and over again. The key is...
  • Day 3.....I think a lot of people struggle with the WHO to invite to look at the presentation. They, (especially those who've been involved for a while), feel that it is a massive mountain to climb. I think that it is easy to forget that if you focus on recruiting just one new person that person will bring a whole new list of WHOs with them!
I would say focus on showing just one new person and your list will be long!
  • Hans
Excellent observation and comment, I think. That is the secret to our business that most people that start and quit and definitely most people looking from the outside in asking us, "Where do I find people?" never get (un)fortunately. Once you get that, you never run out of people, working in your downline is the secret to success and also to giving your new people confidence they can do this business and keeping them "in" instead of seeing all of them leave and giving up after one day, week, month or even a year. Just my two cents...
  • eddyoshaughnessy
Keep it simple , we hear it so many times !!
  • wimbelt
Good stuff, looking forward to the next episode
  • yuvalcohen
    Hello Eric.
    Thanks for the lesson.
I understand I need to return to the main guiding line
I wait in anticipation for the next lesson
    Thanks, you inspired
    Yuval
  • oryah
    hi eric
i tried this for a few month, it is a very hard and tiring, yet :never give-up right.., but i know there must be another way!!!!!!! through the net to get to people.......
  • denagottlieb
Ok, so it doesn't really help me to hear that "just get them in front of the presentation and the rest will take care of itself" since the biggest problem that most people have with mlm is getting those people in front of the presentation!!!!!!!!!!! (Did I put enough explanation points?)

I can connect with the "leverage" issue. I am a big believer in using every available resource and teaching my downline to do the same. They have to understand that it's not necessary for them to know how to do it all. But, again, the biggest challenge seems to be helping people learn how to get others in front of the opportunity.

I find that by using the PRODUCT (like Dan said) I get the most people. I sell them a wonderful product which they enjoy and want more of. "Ah? you want to get it more cheaply? Come to a presentation and find out how".
  • Simplicity, the basics and duplication, spiced with replication: here are the ingredients to success.

YOU provide the people, we provide the presentation...

What I don't understand is this: We all know that YOU is the key reason for the people to join MLM.

Dan is at least the third another million dollar earner that tell us that when they started, they had no credibility, no money, nothing.

The question is: What did you say to people so they would go to a presentation?

    Love you all
    Alfredo Rodrigues
  • dawnmarielagmay
~hoping that some of the techniques to get people in front of the information will be presented somewhere within the next couple of videos~ LOVING the lessons!
  • Dan is absolutely right, and I've been saying this to my downline for ages now - If you can get people in front of the opportunity, we can handle the presentation. It's the strength of Network Marketing that everyone is here to help eachother instead of being copetitiors - but sometimes it's also hard for people to realise the win-win dynamics because they get scared when we say, bring your people and let us do the work untill you can do it yourself - their mindset automatically says, "I'm going to loose money if the works for me!"
  • hanneretvik
I really appreciate the simplicity of your advices. Getting as much people as possible in front of the opportunity and then the system takes care of the presentation, it seems so easy and is also the reason I chose the company I'm in. So now I'm working hard to become a "world class promoter".
As usual I'm looking forward to tomorrows presentation!
  • Yes Yes Yes! This is great, great ideas of how to grow my business. I'm excited and it's gonna be a great 2010 / Linda, Sweden

Wow! Today is the part when I feel identified in some way with the past of the interviewed person!

I must say to myself: "KISS" (Keep It Simple Stupid!). It's a matter of repeat a simple, why do we complicate? specially me? ha ha ha... Oh my goodness I can't even find an excuse ha ha ha...

Today, as thousands of time during the next century... Mr. Jim Rohn appears in someone's testimonio... It's a mazing what a legacy!
  • Keep it simple. Pretty difficult when we get carried away in our presentations. If at first you do not succeed try, try again. I am currently reading books by Robert Kiyosaki and he talks much about failure. To succeed we must first fail and fail and fail, learn from our failures and keep going. What I am getting from these interviews is that no one really made it in a short period of time. Most failed time and again, but never gave up. I have been exposed to this business for some time now but my fear of failure and rejection has really kept me from being successful. Thanks Eric for getting me involved in this interaction. It is really eye opening. Why do I feel I have to "talk" so much? Keep it simple. K.I.S.S.

I like to form a team its much stronger.
  • Nicolo
Its important to form a team so one people explain the business and the others take people there.
I, like that. For many people its hard to give a presentation in the begining.

Looking forward - planning to apply all I have learnt and to be who I have become. This is great.
  • MagnusEdvald
I liked this: "You provide the people we take care of the presentation".
  • OH COME OOOOOOOOON!!!!!
And one of the keys is this???? You tease Eric (LOL).

What does Randy Gage say: "You can't control enrolments but you can control the number of exposures".

My task starting now: Put more people in front of the opportunity more often.

I think got it. Make it simple. Todays show helped me open up my eyes wide. Will get it into process today.

A very timely reminder of the power of the basic fundamentals in today's high tech environment.
  • Inger
It's as has been said many times... Our job is to get the info in front of people, as many people as possible. Then, they either get it or they don't.

Basics,. As Mr Clooney would say: What else?.
    Great interview as always.
    Best regards Mr Worre
  • Another cliff hanger!!! Looking forward to tomorrows interview.

It's very true that with todays technology it's so easy to get info in front of people. We just need to do more of it.

Great new design, Todays most important lessons ? The mother of skills - repetition :) Promotion :) One great person in this industry also saying this, if you can invite people there is allways someone that can present for you. Great info as usual
  • Ryan

Hi there Eric and/or the web manager,
there seems to be a bug in your website. Whenever I am logged in it shows my name at the top of the page as Hans and then if I want to send a comment it says I am not logged in and can only send a comment as a Guest and sometimes it allows me to enter my name and relogin as iOpen, which basically means that by now, I have commented on all the last three shows under three different names Hans, Guest and iOpen, which worries me, because I am trying hard to become a daily contributor and be recognised as such and in this way, after 100 shows it will be very hard to recognise the fact that I contributed all the time. I think that when I'm logged in it should not ask me whenever I comment to login again right? Somehow the website considers me a Guest and not a logged-in member and it also tells me to comment via Disqus (why is that?). Oh yes and it does also not show my picture next to my comment, although I am logged in.....I don't get it...Please get back to me with a reply to clarify and I guess I might not be the only person who ran into this little technical issue/problem! Many thanks, Hans.
  • Bob and Pam
Eric, we are having the same issue also. When I track our comments it also shows us logged in under several different log in id's. Disqus, I have sent SEVERAL"contact me e-mail's"-"send me a reset password" requests with no response at all. I cannot even get into my profile (they say pbandj is already in use, yes, thats me) to set it up. We don't want to be signed in as a guest either, when we are members. I also don't want a profile ANYWHERE that I don't have access to and cannot set to my preferences. Help of some sort would be appreciated. Thank you for your time. I know you have little of it.

  • Thanks to Dan on the reminder to just repeatedly get people in front of the opportunity and the rest will take care of itself. Don't complicate it.
