I learned early on that e-mails are not effective at all when it comes to invite people to see our opportunity. They are just too cold! When I just started (about a week in the business) I sent a zillion e-mails to invite my friends to the first Opportunity Meeting in San Juan with my sponsor Gilda. I only personally called a few people. Guess what? None of the people I sent the e-mails to, attended the meeting. Who were there? The people that I personally called. Lesson learned!!

I do think that a marriage between “belly to belly” and the leverage of technology is the key to success. You need to use both to be most effective.

Our culture is still about the personal relationship. Like previous episodes, we can start online, but at some point connection must the made in the physical world. Nothing beats a phone call or a face to face. I would add skype as an alternative to the phone. But I just don't think we can grow our business “in the cloud.”

I agree with the belly to belly. I get discouraged that so many people do so much with the internet and I don't know enough about it to do it that way.

Technology has it's place and building relationships in person is the #1 best way.
I noticed Sherman has an online presence, so I believe what he is saying with his actions is, yes use technology, but don't solely rely on it.

Meetings can not be replaced, and neither can the internet. They are just a different dynamic. Like it or not guys the internet is here to stay, those who know this and position themselves with it have greater leverage than those who don't (you should be seeing that now Eric with your blog here and recent product launch).

No, meetings can't be replaced. Technology can add, but this is relationsship marketing. Ask yourself; could you have build the realtionships you have or have had on-line only?
