our company has a recorded phone message. I think I will try to make more use of it.
  • InspiredDeb
Using a recorded call for people to call in and listen... how smart!
  • wealthandriches
Use the tools and learn to "tell the story". Get people started right away using the tools. I love that!
  • Skipping to the Complete & Uncut episode...but wanted to make sure I complete the challenge and make a comment! ;-)
  • Again, fear is the biggest thing you have to overcome. And that has to do with your expectation. If you are desperate to find a starter you will have far less success than if you don't hold any expectations plus, which is even more important, you will have NO fear of meeting people in person. And only IN PERSON you will be able to build relationships and thus a business instead of holding on to a hobby.
  • yitz613
use the leverage of the tools and learn how to tell your story...
  • meagankellytorres
Leverage the tool, tell your story and create trust and excitment, then promote event. Duplication is the name of the game!
  • Calvin Boutilier
Face to face sounds way better than internet prospecting.
  • Tools and face to face....the basics still work....
  • KeithN
Use the leverage of the tools that you have available. Get face to face with your prospects. Get the prospect to commit to taking a look at your information.
  • Elaine Baril
"No website address on business cards..." I like that! First; let's talk :)
  • JON FORTI
TOOLS WILL HELP YOU BECOME COMFORTABLE, CD 'S ARE EASY TO LISTEN TO.
  • MDungey
Great point - 3rd party allows new people to get started straight away.
  • BobbyRay
    Gotta take action
  • So much good info, but what resonated with me is giving out a tool... just like Eric has shown before - get a commitment to view as well as the follow-up
  • heatherbrocklehurst
Tools and follow up and consistency. Simple!
  • Luis (Pelon)
1 on 1 has worked great for us
  • Luis (Pelon)
    follow up is everything.
  • Damijan81
One of the clearest explanations of tools and there use. Love it
  • Shovers
    Interesting.
  • Vonnita2010
KEY POINTS: STABLISH DIRECT CONECTION, USE THE TOOLS, TELL THE NEWS AS FAST AS POSSIBLE... DON'T HIDE BEHIND THE INTERNET!!!
  • travelprohawaii
Yes I really like that people I talk to are evaluating if they can work with me I don't have to convince them to join with me they convince themselves. I just realized the tools will really help as long as I use them and not let them collect dust...lol
  • Carlos Perez
This business is all about relationships and nothing can replace this
  • classy70sgirl
I LOVE how Sherman invites prospects to listen to his cd! It's fabulous!
I'm going to use this myself!
    Thank you.
    Classy70sgirl
  • juanpablorico
Amaizing!! Eric, do you know if exist any audio tool to prospect people in spanish for the Agel Buisiness?
  • jeanalbert
CD's & DVD's are great for duplication and leverage, but the key is to get a commitment to view whatever tool you share with your prospect and to setup a follow-up appointment.
  • I love the way in which Sherman promotes the CD and the person speaking on it.
Also, I like the relationship acpect of the business and how it makes me grow personally and as a leader.

The math as a proof of exponential growth... nhami* It makes me dream and reminds me of the original vision I had when getting aboard. It's great to refresh the mind.

    NOTES:
This could be the most important financial tool you ever heard. The gentleman on the CD is a very successful profesional that works with me as part of my upline... Will you make a commitment to hear it in the next 48 to 72 hours?

I don't want people to go to a website, I want them to come to me.

We didn't have a tool in the begining. When the time came up, we recorded it and edited it. And the business went up the roof.

In the first 3 to 6 months I had a recorded message in a phone line... in order to use leverage from a tool.

The benefit of a tool is that a brand new person, before they understand anything, can start and share his/her enthusiasm and the process can be speeded up exponentially.

A DVD is not as versatile as a CD, but when we get to 100,000 DVDs circulating, if 2% are used in any given night, that's 2,000 home meetings taking place. If a meeting averages 2 new members, that's 4,000 new members a day, 20,000 a week. The best we've done is to recruit 10 to 12,000 new members in a month.

It doesn't matter if I'm doing one on one's or more... the moral of the story is to moove as fast as we can and tell the story to as many people as we can.
  • CINDYSU
I'm going to have some business cards made without the website. I like that approach!
  • jlt0wn
interesting that he doesn't put his web site on his business card.
  • ronaldvandomburg
how does this relate to the use of links? I think a link is also a tool, but i agree that personal relationship is crucial
  • Inger
Get somebody to look at the tool, Get face-to-face with them, have some sort of a meeting. Use the tools of your company, specially if you're brandnew, since sharing a tool is something everybody can do!
Get to as many people as you can as fast as you can.
  • Jessi
    Great ideas. Thanks!
  • Jorge Longoria
the information it is so important and now a times the internet has become another great tool that we can use in order to explote our business. I belive so much in the tird party tool because the enthusiasm that it is injected to the other people.
  • crwood1967
It is really important to build both a face-to-face business, but also an internet business. This is really important to because many, many people blow through their warm market and need the internet to generate leads. Tools are important but if you don't follow-up then it won't matter how good the message is. Thanks for great info again.
  • Interview is getting more and more interesting. You are sharing the many ways to do the business. Best thing to do is select one and perfect it until it works. And it will work.
  • mspaulamc
People join other people - people do not care much until they know how much you care .. build organically and you will never be hungry :)
  • Luis Gringras
Very usefull how to use a tool: tool some importat information for them, you are conected with the person doing the presentation,, comitement listen the tool, there only few copys of it,make a apoinment.
  • gkamlm
Great reinforcement on how to correctly use the presentation tool in a recording.
  • susanjohannesson
My thought is that it hits me how important it is with the speed and the third party tools. The faster I work, the faster everything goes...
  • bghcancun
I love tools and i want to use all of theme but i have problems to select the better one
  • It goes to show that hard work pays off. Thank you for the inspiration!
  • Connie Tolton
Agree with the face to face and like the advice on how to use tools.

    Connie Tolton
  • Sherman certainly stresses the importance of face-to-face relationships if you want to build a substantial business. Thank you for the good advice.
  • Interesting what Sherman said about the importance of face to face meetings and 3nd party tools and not use online tools to recruit.
  • Athletes4Health
    Face-to-Face meetings and 3rd party tools…great wisdom.
  • randers1
Immediacy is everything. Commitment is two ways; we must not forget to follow up. Learn how to tell my story.
  • Step by step, by step... put the system in place - then follow it...
  • raybeattie
Placing the 3rd party tool with sense of importance, setting a time to meet again, great follow up done before you ever leave the prospect. The 3rd party tool takes the emphases of the new person presenting, easy to get new people up and moving.
  • krisic
easy steps, and I agree about trying to be face to face as often as possible.
  • John Boyd
    So simple!
  • CarlosVera
Basic path: show the tool, get face to face, get your prospect to attend a meeting and then a larger meeting for validations, and always do follow up...........
I'm getting all these great tips every day but I can't get started, so here's a question...............how do you get rid of the fear of rejection?
  • Maybe I am a little sensitive to how you talk with people, but I get the feeling that Sherman and you don't believe the internet (and websites) have a place in our business. I don't believe that I am 'hiding' behind a computer. I see the internet as another tool. It certainly takes more effort to establish a long-distance relationship than it does where you meet in person - but it can and is being done. The role of conventions and regional meetings take on greater importance.
  • margarethockaday
great way to deliver 3 party tools and follow up follow up
  • mspaulamc
Fortunes are built by those who follow up
  • Jilliangene
This is so good. Tell the story any way and to as many people as possible. #1 rule of this business. Is 48 to 72 hours to followup better because if you are working the business this gives you enough time to get back to each person without missing anyone?
    Thanks Eric and Mr Unkefer.
  • Great advice sherm, this biz is really simple. most people make it hard.
  • Jilliangene
It is simple just not easy - I totally agree.
  • Gustavo Muñoz - Colombia
Everything that is related to network marketing is simple. Sucess is the result of simple things done in a consistent way for many people. Thks Eric for another lesson
  • Ryan
    awesome, powerful straight talk
  • marvalouslife1
This is so important: KISS - Keep It Simple Stu...
    thank you Sherman.
from you it sounds so simple. and that's the way it is; Networkmarketing is not easy, but it is simple!!

    Ron Ackerman - Israel
  • robbinsaturniewicz
I plan to place more tools going forward with follow up!
  • Steve_Nelson
    relationship building is the answer!
  • andreabyrge
I think it is very interesting that Sherman is not giving out his website to prospects. That is something new! I would like to know how many other of your guests withhold that detail until much further in the relaitonship.
  • Jay VanNostrand
knowing your tools & when and how to use them is KEY!
  • Edith Kohler
I like to hear from someone like Mr.Unkefer, that actually all options are ok to use.
As long as you get the oppertunity/the products to the prospects
Big meetings or one on ones etc.
  • Connie Tolton
I agree with the tip to not send the directlly to the website - the face to face builds the relationship.

    Connie T
  • Kjell Englund
I think it´s very important to use the right tool at the right place. Face to face is always a important tool
  • Basics of Mr. Unkefer's path:
    * Get someone to take to look at the tool
    * Get face to face
    * Have a meeting
    * Have a bigger event, provide information, use a products e.t.c.
  • CINDYSU
I personally have had the best luck with belly to belly. When I've used a dvd or website, it seems to work best if I am viewing/listening to it with them on the phone or in person.
  • donham298
    Tools tools tools All good
  • veronikakari
Great comment about the small meetings and how the CD taking back - good point.
  • Frank Diaz
    Third party tools and presentation
  • bdsfortune
    very Good!
  • Vange01
Good advice about how to use tools and presentations
  • tools are important but more so is how the tool is used
  • Inger
Good tools used in a bad manner will not get the results... I agree! HOW somebody presents the tool is just as important, otherwise people won't even take a look!
  • Donna Wheaton
    Hi Chris

How important the tool is. I have to let my prospect know the value in the tool that I am leaving with them.
  • AviPeer
2 a day with a tool is easy to do. The old system is working in the 21 century WOW, great lesson.
  • mlvw
There is something about this interview that draws me. Sherman Unkefer is GREAT!
  • Mark_Abrahams
When a company sets up as well as it possibly can, with great leadership and resources, the first thing we should learn is just how great our company is. How great is it that we have such excellent resources and marketing tools avaible to us...and that what we have to do is to have great relationships, use the tools and have fun. Just learning from successful people who have done and established what needs to be done to achieve their success is not groundbreaking, it is pure logic - like our business. We, as NWM professionals, just need to tell the world. Thanks again Eric
  • I was with a fellow team member 2 days ago, listening in on his phone call with a prospect.
    He chew their ear off.
    Use the tools!
  • Grace2010
Love the idea of the CD. Like alot of people, I spend alot of time driving and love to learn while driving.
  • My opinion is that it´s not either or. In our Team we use both Internet AND personal meeting to recruit. By combining "old school" with "new school" tecniques we get more effective and we still include personality and building relationship. Nothing can ever replace personal meeting, so true. Every 3 months we have national events and use these primarily to build relation and friendship. It is "high tech and high touch"
  • Grace2010
Thank you for your comment. You brought up good points.
  • rosslopez
Totally true =o) Relationships are our business... interact with all the people you can think of, listen to their stories, talk to them, show the business, tell the story, show the opportunity, your excitement and entusiasm, use the tools and the system, those are the basics to be on the top.

You can't imagine how much I'm learning from all of this Eric
    Thanks a lot
    Hugs from Mexico
    Rossana =o)
  • feltricks
Yes, third party tools are the most effective system to get duplication, I mean, the ONLY system.
Look for committed people, place some tools and they will get some other committed people.
I really love Sherman's posture, sharp guy, I want him on my team.
    Thanks guys.
  • Ellis3
I love this about Sherman ... It just makes sense ... keep talking about the business to whoever will listen and that is how to downline (sales) grows!
  • Vern Trabue
Excellent points! This is a face to face, person to person business. Make it happen!
  • drpricedc
Good points about using tools. We are very lucky to have all of the tools available to us that we have at this point.
  • lynn hall
Good idea limiting amount of copies of a tool when talking to a prospect.
  • DianaValdez
I like the moral of the story: Let's move, let's get as fast as we can!
  • juliehawkins
Thank you sharing your stratagies with us Sherman you keep it simple and useing the 3rd party tools is a great avenue to take.
  • socorro
great information, key as I seeit is go fast, thank you
  • tambry
I liked how Sherman would present the tool - This could be the most important financial tool you will ever encounter ni your life!
  • susanclark
#224 - Love it! Thank you for your honesty. Love you sharing the credit card defining moment. I have had my "defining moments" myself and honesty going through a rough time now. Thanks for the inspiration. Like Sherman said he did not let it slow him down, but kept on going. Thanks so much for Network Marketing Pro. It is making all the difference to me and thanks again Sherman for your honesty.
  • SJ Doug
    I like it!
  • Always start with the warm market! They are the ones that are mostly likely to decide to join later at some point if they don't join when you approach them first!
  • one on one.... interesting debate.
But for utilizing three-way call by the sponsor One on One is for the sponsor time consuming.
And the group dynamic can add so much as leverage
  • Paco_Carreno
I love the simplicity you put in the process as master of Network Marketing... It's so good to see you guys because it's like having a clear picture of how I would like to evolve as a NMP, the simple way.

Love the thing about Not include the website in the card! Love it!
  • I wondered where you were...you aren't usually late!
  • nickgarrison
I love it. The company I am with has just come out with a short CD and it is a great way to quickly get the message out
  • Get that info out there!
  • jessicajablonski
I love his perspective on how to place tools. I like how he says that this might be one of the most important financial tools that you will ever encounter in your life. The gentleman that you are going to hear is a partner of mine. Love it!!!
  • christinaglazar
I just love this interview - third party validation builds respectability!!
  • theuns
    Hi Eric

That What Sherman did say work 100% i did it my self and hand down it is the best
  • susanclark
#223 - Sherman Unkefer Interview - Part 3 of 4. Well, I am still in the running - I have commented on every session since the challenge began. I totally agree with Sherman about the importance of meeting with people and not just putting them onto my web site. I know a lot of my colleagues do not agree with me. There is no substitute for getting together with the prospect. I liked that Sherman does not put his website on his business cards. Great!!!
  • martinvf
That's the magic of MLM when we spread the voice, and move, compensate, educate and motivate others to do the same.
Let's see and understand the needs of the people close to us, in order to fit our opportunity in their needs.
Let's see what they have to tell us, what's their story, what motivates them, what they are looking for.
Let's not see them like in the cartoons when "Chilli Pinguine" is hungry and sees his friend the dog as a biiig piece of meat and wants to eat him.
Let's take our big opportunity in MLM to something BIGGER that is create long lasting and healthy relationships with the people. LET'S CHANGE LIFES!!!

    Saludos from Mexico City
  • gmeyerson
Face to face is the best I know, facebook is strictly a marketing tool, not a recruiting tool
  • LisaR2010
Okay, so I got it. The key is to get in front of as many people as you can, whether it be a small or large group.
  • And again and again, day after day I've learned something new about recruiting. Thanks for sharing Mr. Unkefer. And you....Mr. Worre, take good care and best regards from your biggest fan.
  • Daniel Glez.Peña
Hi Eric, I saw this interview yesterday, but it dosen´t matter i saw it again and again it´s awesome.

    Saludos.
    Daniel y Natali Qro.
  • MarvinTowler
Create urgency and get commitment. Address the WIIFM. I love this interview. I used to work for a guy doing retail sales and he told me "People don't buy from the company, they buy from you."
  • bartar20
The power of that extra tool, you just never know where that new person is going to come from, never give up talking to new people daily about the business opportunity.

    Barry
  • agelfederico
    The magic wand, great name!
  • This has been one of the best interviews yet. The information in this interview is invaluable. Using the tools and follow up, these are the keys to closing. Eric you are the most valuable mentor that I have. One day I hope to thank you in person for the passion that you have shown and have inspired in me. We are NETWORK MARKETING PROFESSIONALS and proud of it. I have two heroes Richard Kall and Eric Worre.
Thanks for your sacrifice of time.
    james smart
  • Arnold Thompson
Use Tools and get "belly to belly". It seems like the trend is online but I like the face to face relationship aspect of the business and I hope we never lose that. Those of us who have committed to this community need to be the ones to bring the profession back to it's roots and that is in the relationships not the blogging, PPC, social networking, Craigslist, articles, and everything else you see out there online. Also, just think about it, online marketing has a HUGE learning curve and can be very expensive w/ PPC as you are learning, it really can't be duplicated very easily if at all. Face to face meetings with warm market is a lot easier to duplicate because the learning curve isn't nearly as steep and if it costs anything it's usually only the cost of a cup of coffee or a sandwich. Use tools as an introduction but then get "belly to belly" to build the relationship and get them started. This seems to be the common path to success for all of these Multi-Million dollar a year earners that Eric is interviewing, it's time the rest of us learn from it and put it into practice.
  • rasdaniels
WOW!!! The defining moments "break" some and motivate others to greatness!!
  • quincy
Interesting to hear that Mr. Unkefer doesn't use websites. I can appreciate it not being the main thing because it can take away from personal interaction but I do feel that in today's age that it should be at least included. Its a different time now. Everybody's on the internet. But dont conduct conduct business solely that way the entire time. I kinda look at it like having multiple poles in the water to catch as many fish as possible from all angles. But still great stuff. Especially what Eric said about using the pre-recorded call.
  • amberaimshigh
We hear over and over again.... this is a people business. Get belly to belly. I love it!
  • Thanks Eric for the great tips once again. By not having your "opportunities" web address on your card, you create more curiosity. Your prospect cannot Google prior to your "meeting" and then form some opinion about something they know little about. It's really more about who you are as a Leader anyway. Use the tools provided by your company and save yourself a lot of time out of the gate. You'll be glad you did.
  • tommycone
    #223
I think 3rd party tools are good. You need to know how to place these tool and you must follow-up in a timely manner.
  • surprised his approach in using the 3rd party tool wasn't what I expected, great info on progressing the meetings
  • That's interesting how Mr. Unkefer does not use a website address on his business cards. I've thought the same thing, that I would rather have them call me first. I'm due to order business cards again and I plan on using our facebook page link to connect with them. I always ask prospects if they are on facebook so we can can connect and they can get to know me better.
  • quincy
Thats a good idea since so many people are on Facebook. Shows realism.
  • no website on my bc either. I don't want someone to google before I've had a chance to tell them my story.
  • You've got a point there.
Personal meetings are the best way to do a business.
    Personal and Up Front.

The prospect can see your body language, facial expressions and actually hear your tone of voice when presenting the business.
  • The support of a 3rd party builds credibility to your message.
  • ritafulton
I like third party tools. Now I am honing better skills to get better results from them. Like the thought of not including website right up front..keeping the personal touch and momentum growing first..Thanks
  • bdsfortune
3rd party and duplication is huge! i think the believe level for new prospects sky rockets. thanks
  • kgoren
The power of 3rd party tools, even if your new in the business. The realization of getting thousands of those tools out there to create huge organizations. Easy and duplicatable for everyone.
  • quincy
    Its all a numbers game.
  • I've been trying to get my web site out there
I guess face to face is the best way
I am still going to get the web site up but concentrate more on face to face
It's just that where I live there aren't so many faces LOL
Vermont isn't exactly the most populated state in the country
  • enrique62
Wow!!!-- In a couple of sentences, I finally found what to say to people without any hype.
  • conniegleave
Sherman doesn't have a website listed on his business cards? Hmmmm...now there's some real food-for-thought.

When I hand out my 3rd party tool and set follow up appointments - I can never (hardly ever) get a hold of them again - just answering machines, etc. No return calls. Ergo...no return of the 'tool' and so I stop following-up after the 3rd or 4th call.

Question to self: Where's the disconnect? What's going wrong?
  • I love these interviews! THe nuggets of insight and wisdom from someone like Sherman and you..what an incredible way to really learn and and grow my own leadership abilities..thank-you so much. Really understand the power of tools. ALSO my takeaway here is a renewed commitment to touch people by connecting with them and to LEVERAGE technology to touch and connect with people NOT use technology expecting to build heart to heart repore...powerful stuff.
  • claralondono
third party tools has helped me multiply giving the message and it makes our second meeting more meaningful. Thank you
  • FrankMarshman
Tools are always a multiplying factor. Whether it is a shovel instead of hands, a computer instead of paper and pencil or the tools of cds or NetWorkingPro.
  • Completely agree.

    Love you all
    Alfredo Rodrigues
  • randyhendrickson
very good information. If so why am I dragging my feet?
  • Sherman Unkefer doesn’t use web sites for recruiting purposes. Instead he emphasizes initial personal contact. That’s why he doesn’t have his web site address on his business card. Tools speed up the process of duplication.

Sign on the door of a Computer Store: "Out for a quick byte."
  • Lotta
The tools we have in my MLM company today. Was the reson that I started up whit MLM again.
  • quincy
The tools are great to take you out of the picture. Ive only been with my current company since I got into the industry and I couldnt imagine doing this without 3rd party tools.
  • eugenejohnson
man he said 200 consecutive meetings.....wow....success leaves clues!!!! The moral of the story is lets Move!
  • dawnmarielagmay
    Aloha Eric,
I love the idea of belly to belly meetings. All of these lessons are helping me to understand the philosophy behind why those of you who are really making it, are making it. Thanks again! Dawn :)
  • nikomachi
I understand that personal contact is powerful way of recruiting and creating relationships. But I have to disagree on not using the internet to do the same thing. Social media is a powerful means of building relationships and you do get to know someone enough to know whether you like them or not. It's just that most people use the internet to spam constantly and this is where this powerful tool is abused.
  • Excellent lessons on the value of ANY kind of exposure to tell my story! Now I realize I really need not depend on the NEXT meeting to sponsor my next distributor.
  • Third party tools have made it possible to grow the business a lot faster nowdays. Like the "belly to belly" mindset. But the "follow-up" in my opinion does have to be within that 72 hour time-frame. Personally I have found anything after that long (not always) and most prospects will have those doubts start to creep in.
Personally I have to do a better job on the follow-up. That is where the fortune is and also the continued process of "building that relationship".
  • It all comes down to how many times your company's story is told by a 3rd party tool on your behalf every day!!
  • lucbehar
224: My best important decisive moments are also those nights where no one shows up! Then i use those moments to train and self-develop and to invite people for the next days!
  • lucbehar
Every single word is so true
Tools is an eyes catch but need to be heated with comitments, follow up and duplication
    So true
    Love it
  • Agneta Rebo
Using a tool as door-openerer and also as a reason to get back to people sounds great.
  • jc13
The leverage of duplication. The power of taking action. The enthusiasm of a team. Lifting your self up by lifting other people up. Succeeding by giving others the vision how they can succeed.

It is becoming increasingly imperative that a family have a small business enterprise in order to survive in a country where the top 5% earn over $150K, the top 20% earn over $100k, and the average income is over $75,000. Or you need to get a plot of land and live a very simple life.

It is the small business owners who makeup the majority of the top 20%. Network marketing is an easy entry into the small business world.

  • tjsknmp
It's only Wednesday . . . Come on Friday! Now something to look forward to besides the end of the work week - - - the full video!
  • Gakungu
The information delivered here in this interview will be very helpful in the long run. Thanks Eric and Sherman for your time.
  • brianhepner
Wise Man!.. His love for people and his product shows through. Some would call it passion. I will call it joy.
  • happyhealthybob
I think that i can take a new approach and try using something close to this with my tools. I love the belly to belly. I think that the not having your website is a great idea. Really talking to people and getting "your elbows dirty" is a great way to work this business, i believe.
  • beckydesabah
Being the messenger and not the messege shows the new associate that starting up his/her business is simple and everybody can do it. Besides, using 3rd party tools allows us to reach as many people as we want to.
The more I watch your videos the more I realize that our profession is simple . . best is to keep it that way.
I like the idea not to put our website on our card. :-)
Thank you Eric.. thank you Mr. Unkefer.

    DUPLICATION is King...
  • Javed Iqbal
....and KEY to duplication is TOOLS.
“People are NOT duplicateable, but TOOLS are”.
  • Bea Resnick
Yes. I enjoyed this interview - because Mr. Unkefer has been so successful. For simplicity in learning how to place a tool, I would suggest going back to video #160 and watching it for 5 days in a row. I'm valuing this library of videos more and more. Thanks!
  • Ali
To use the tool is the core idea of this tremendous presentation. Well if somenone uses it in right direction the skills which are shown in those tools will really duplicate! hence your business duplicates. Good presentation

  • Eric, I try to use the internet presentation as a convenience for my prospects. After hearing what Sherman had to say I think I am off base with this thinking. Maybe a CD would be best and than a lot more face to face follow up " setting an appointment". I like this interview it's detailed and full of reality for the start up or the person who has prodded along for a while like myself.
  • dterrell
    Great information, thank you!
  • So much steady CONVICTION he has!
Eric comment: He kept greater eye contact in the interview.
  • carolmcwilliams
I loved this interview as he gave specifices on how to use 3rd party tools. This is an area I am weak on. I am great about building rapport and wanting to make connections personally, but don't seem to get the tools out there. In order to help myself be more accountable to do this, I am including this as a action step for 5 days a week to get 1-2 tools out to people and then track my results.
I always think after I listen to a show, how can I translate this information from knowledge I learn to action I take.
  • jerryscribner
I really like what Sherman is teaching
  • tyroneholmes
What's nice about using 3rd party tools is ,it is simple and everyone can do it.

One-on-one, 3 ways, coffee shops meetings, big events..its all good according to Mr. Unkefer. What a stud this guy! My upline director constantly talks about people, tools and events. Easy to do, easy not to do.
  • bartonmurray
    great tutorial today, thanks
  • Tools, one on one, three-ways, events, social media, fly ins these are all important if they work for the person using them. Each has its place and each works for at a different level for each person. The thing that I find important is to find what works for me and keep doing it!
  • tylerwhite
A good way to look at cold market is like this, picture yourself jumping across a stream with one rock in the middle of it. That rock is cold market and the other side of the bank is warm market, so if you do use cold market it is very quickly like jumping on that rock to get to the warm market at fast as possible. Sherman is right on....
  • Javed Iqbal
Today’s stuff is so great. Among the entire episodes this was the one that is full of solid contents. I liked it the most.

Since the foundation of our growth is DUPLICATION. And point to be noted is that...

“People are NOT duplicateable, but TOOLS are”.

So use as many tools as possible.

Hello to you downUnder. So glad you m,ade the trip safe and i hope you take some good pictures to show us.The video with Mr. Unkefer was very good tonight. THANKS A.C.
  • Getting the tools out is such an important part of the business. These are great tips on, especially for people learning to become a professional in the business. We already have an effective script for getting out our cd/dvd but there was a great element in Sherman's script that I'll also be integrating!
  • coltsco
I like Sherm's approach to handing out a third party tool. It's very similar to your "if I, would you..." approach, which I also like.
  • carybennett
very good stuff, again the belly to belly works well using tools and not throwing up on people being mr molucule about your product.. Thanks
  • KISS -Keep It Super Simple- We are in the people business. People enroll to work with people not the technology. AND to be completely honest the 10K to 12K enrolled in a month really wrinkled my brain.
  • AdvocareJax
That is great word choice for getting someone to check out a third party tool. I will begin implementing that.
  • Eileen
I'm going to have new cards made WITHOUT my website! He has confirmed something I've been feeling for awhile!
  • mikeyfromvegas
Hi Eric, thank you and also what I get out of using tools is to make sure you build up the VALUE of the tool and don't just hand them out like a business card. Don't plant a grass seed in the sun if it is a seed for the shade. I hope this makes sence to all

Shre the Business..... share the product!!!!
  • Robertdiggsjr
    3rd party tools are everything
  • Getting tools in your teams hands immediately is a great way to light up your organizations growth. Another great thing to do is have plenty of product on hand so your new distributor can take it with them and start demonstrating the products immediately as well.
  • Hai
I appreciate your dedication to provide daily lesson to us- even when you are in Sydney! :-) I am even jealous and want to be there too right now- but much to be done with tools to help my business. So much to learn-Thank you for all the good stuff in these shows, Eric!
  • jennyc
    Keep it coming, great info.
  • There's great wisdom from those who have "been there, done that" but I also think Mr Unkefer may be underestimating the leverage of social media and the internet. Of course I've been wrong before :)
  • lorijones
The third party has been key to my success. Thanks for this great information.
  • mchalk
Without a doubt, tools are essential and designed to be the message. As my upline once said "if the mouth is talking, the hand should be pointing to a tool". Let the tools do the work for you and avoid "verbal diarrhera". The less said the more curiosity is created. I am also finding that CD's are better than DVD's....people can listen when they are driving around during their hectic days.
  • latachia_2
I watched this one already 3 times.
1.edify the tool& get a commitment with them to look at it in 48 -72 hrs
2.3.Set up a face to face meeting
3.If they're not interested get tool back.
    4.Bottom line:.Relationship is key

  • Erik
    I totaly agree :)
  • drmikempa
    Great Stuff!
  • Dave S
I continue to enjoy the daily devotion. Techniques for placing the tool is insightful. Enjoyed the discussion between face to face vs WWW. As I have seen in my day job, this is very much a generational perspective. I believe overtime the www strategies will become more effective as younger genrations become more familar and interested in the network marketing business model.
  • racingworm
Having the tools to do all the information is one of the best ways for a new person to get going. You don't have to know the chemical breakdown or ingredient in every product and keeping your own mouth shut helps a lot. Tools help keep the tongue in check as they can answer a lot of questions people have..
  • More and more I 'm beginning to understand that this is a relationship business; however, I think you're in trouble if you're not leveraging the internet for at least a portion of your marketing.
Heck, my company is virtually all online - the product AND the third party tools.
The internet and social media is not a fad, it ain't goin' away. The ones who embrace that will be the leaders of the future.
Now, having said that, I don't think one should "hide" behind links and web pages, but online is certainly a good place to "begin" relationships. After that you pick up the phone, meet, whatever.
  • andreas

The 3rd party tool a major theme throughout all the successful network marketing professionals. I truly am starting to understand the value in them. I like his approach...he will basically do 1on1's or 2 on 1's or whatever as long as hes belly to belly with someone sharing his story. I cant wait to see the success of the tools work in my organization.
  • kristibateman
I will be getting my tool out there. Thank you
  • granttomkins
    more great work thaks eric
  • What I am beginning to see is that whatever works for me, and my up-line, to run with that. Not this one way or that...but to develop my own style within the organization.
  • Tina
I have a question. meetings...meetings.. you mentioned 1 on 1. Do you mostly invite to the meetings or do you try to do 1 on 1's. I am hearing that the meeing is the 3rd step ( I don't know if that is strictly followed). Is it usually that way. I am not seeing that the meeting is the main recruiting tool..but rather a place and way to close. Am I picking that up correctly?
  • bethascoli
In my experience, it seems best to qualify someone through a tool, and if they like what they see, then bring them to a meeting. If you do it this way, you will have a higher ratio of people who show up to the meetings, and also a higher sign up ratio because they already have some level of interest. I find that it can be difficult to get people to take the time to come to a meeting if they don't know anything about it. I'm talking about big meetings though - you could probably get someone to a home meeting as a first exposure if you have a close relationship with them.
  • Jilliangene
Yes - I am finding the same thing. Give them a link of information and then ask them to come out seems to be more fruitful.
  • karivankleef
Using the tools and doing the follow up is very important even if it is not belly to belly. I have built great relationships with people that were introduced to my business online. I believe you still have to talk but it may be on the phone rather than face to face.
  • On the account of "hideing behind Facebook and Twitter" - I've never been a fan of building MLM online, since MLM is a relationship business. It's important to get out there in the real world and connect with people. But dont close your eyes to the fact that Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites can be a way to expand your network, make connections that can end up as a business presentation at the local coffee shop.
  • georgeman
I agree 100%. High tech needs high touch.
  • HoracioMejia
I liked the idea of giving a tool (Audio CD or DVD) and at the same time placing a meeting, and if the prospect doesnt want to get involved, get the tool back and use it with someone else! The script for approaching new prospects got my attention. I think I am complicating too much my approach to new people and my treatment to new partners. I just realized that it is as simple as an audio tool and as they get more experienced, then use all kinds of tools. Thanks for this interview.
  • John Spardella
I was interested to learn some so obvious that a CD would be more convenient than DVD. Didn't even occur to me. However the main thing to me is expose people through whatever tool you choose to use and than be sure to do the most important part which is "Follow up". and next exposure unless that person is ready to get started.
  • Nancy
Be versatile with meetings - just get the info to as many people as possible, from one on ones to larger meetings. Heard that "If I, would you,......" before - must implement that better.

Thanks a lot Eric! Great video!
  • gloriavintila
This part of the interview was perfectly timed with my questions. Coincidentaly, I asked my upline just yesterday about how to approach the prospects in the first place. Sherman Unkefer provided me exactly with the script I should follow, looking forward to testing it.
  • Great interview! That is some powerful stuff! I have heard it before and it is always good to hear it again. Eric I played one of the other portions of the interview for one of my new associates last night and he now has a much greater goal! Your website is on my spreadsheet for new associates!
  • Tarashon Broomes
great examples on what type of language u should use when your placing the tools to a prospect. despite having the tools and the internet it is still always good to get face to face with your prospect
  • georgeman
You guys are simply awesome! The truth is the truth, people feel more trusting with meeting face to face rather than any other way. High tech meets high touch. Eric, you said it when you said that people do all these other things to shy away from face to face interaction. Experience speaks and we hear (and hopefully listen also). Thank You, this is the greatest resource on the web in NM.
  • Jose Lopez
This interview is a great 3rd party tool in it self! Love Mr. Unkefer posture and personal philosophy. The guy is for real!
  • BetterCoffee.dk
I just love 3rd party tools!
They take the hard part out!

I'm good at procuring prospects, but not so good at explaining the business, I think.
With a DVD and a CD which is what I have, I get the hard part done for me!

To boot it's the most duplicable thing in history.
How easy is it to lend people a CD, escalate with a DVD if necessary and appropriate and say: "Well, what do you think?" (Thanks "Big Al")
  • drkay
I like what I am hearing mainly because I have heard this before and I am becoming a bit more confident that I'm not as far behind as I feared. I also know that the more I hear what I have already have heard, the easier it is to repeat it out of conviction... passion being the number one element... believe what I am saying. And i do. thank you for reinforcing what I have heard. I believe I am at the right place at the right time.

Currently old school still winning in the niumbers game, but internet seems to be the direction most
marketing is going in. It is still early in the game, though.
  • dstfa96
Tools are great but we are still in the relationship business. People would rather be able to look at a person and see whether they can see themselves doing business with this person instead of just looking at a link. We can utilize tools but we still need to incorporate the face to face aspect especially when we are following up with our prospects. WOW this is some great stuff!
  • kgadol
Never underestimate the power of those small "coffee table" meetings! And the follow up ... gotta have the follow up.
  • Having some tools is key. It makes recruiting eaiser, not to be confused with hard work in the follow up.
  • OrlyAlbo
I love the Center Line. it is bacic and importent.

Very nice series of interviews (again). It seems that it goes back to breaking down the numbers...as we heard of course many times before. Amazing stuff...love it.

This guy is old school. I love it. There is so much made of the internet. I think the people who do things the old way will have the advantage. Many people think they can make a fortune by just being online. I think having an online presence is important, but NOT in lieu of face to face marketing. Can't wait for part 4!
  • I love this guy! He's so real and has such a simple philosophy. Was he your mentor, Eric? I hear some of the same techniques being used. Thanks for sharing.

This is such good basic training that we all complicate.
  • Episode 14 of Eric Worre's 100 Episode Throw Down Challenge:

Face to face and 3rd Party tools are crucial to our business. I like using the internet to find prospects but still find meeting people face to face is the best way to talk to prospects with one exception. 3 way calls is a huge asset but is hard to do when you are face to face with the prospect.

  • Earl
I like how he is specific on what it is... Rather than just saying that this is the "greatest thing ever"... By being specific without telling them anything that is on it, it tells them why they need to listen to it, not what they are going to hear! That is great!
  • I completely agree Earl. It's really a good way to do things.
  • Earl
Thanks for the comment! It is nice to know that people actually read these and make replies. Keep up the good work Victoria!

  • Ria Leermakers
    Good show, thanks
  • shawncyr
It's so good to hear that you don't need more than one to have a meeting. I wonder if the meeting is as successful with one as it would be with more. Any thoughts?

Hi Eric, I think the tools are very important to do our business and we can use for people who is not in our city.
    Saludos.
    Daniel y Natali,Qro.
  • Being with a previous company many years ago, we distributed tools and booked follow-ups like Sherman recommends. It does seem the new networkers are relying heavily on internet and sites instead of that personal relationship building process. For my local market, I am focusing on relationships. As I grow, I will make adjustments as needed.
  • patrickmcfeely
More great information put the tools to work for you, get your story as you go along.
Thank you for you time Eric

Powerful message - Show the tool, schedule a F2F meeting, and bring them to one of your classes where the enthusiasm and energy of the other participants will excite those who we believe could become great partners in our business.
    Looking forward to tomorrow's segment,
    Fernando.
  • highimpact0406
Was encouraging to hear that reaching out to people face to face was a good practice and not hiding behind facebook and twitter. I get pressured EVERY day to get into that and would really prefer to talk to people firsthand, someone live, instead of someone I haven't seen! Thanks for the reassurance, it's exhilirating!
  • germarl
I really enjoy the consistent system the professionals use -it's a 'person to person business' - let the tools do the 'work of presenting the information' - but people are 'the secret source' in the business ...
  • rasdaniels
I love the line - "Let's tell the story as fast as we can to the next person".
  • Good info Eric, although I do prefer your 4-step method for placing tools to be honest. Similar I guess, but it flows very well...

As far as tool quality, I've heard his cd and it is VERY good (persuasive). Key point - notice that the tool was put in the hands of a Networker! Much more potential than other possible contacts, no?

I think that raises the point that there are people out there with NWM experience - find them and get them some information!

    Best,
    Scott
  • Bjorgli
Very Interesting to hear about the "Technology" (cassettes)' effect som many years ago.
I wish cd, dvd and web-presentations had the same results. It's really good.

USING 3rd TOOL IS BRILLIANT. ANYONE WHO JUST STARTED THE BUSINESS CAN INVITE PEOPLE TO LOOK AT HIS BUSINESS. BY USING 3rd TOOL WE TEACH EVERYONE HOW EASY IT IS TO DO OUR BUSINESS. ONE'S POSTURE IS VERY IMPORTANT WHILE USING 3rd TOOL, AND WE HAVE TO BE PROFESSIONALS WHILE DOING IT. VERY IMPORTANT SESSION, THANK YOU Mr. UNKEFER.
  • Javed Iqbal
    Very right!
  • how to place a tool. Most overlooked skill in network marketing in my opinion. THanks!
  • Javed Iqbal
I totally agreed with you that this is overlooked skill. By learning and exploring more about this skill should be one of BASIC skills.

We also need to learn HOW to make a good business card and HOW to place/use it.

Lots of good points! I just wonder if it works with the tools in other markets too? (I suppose that you are using it in USA) I do not have so good experience of it.
  • Excellent description of how to use and leverage tools for duplication while making contact to build relationships and trust.
  • jlconner
Tremendous information on Placing a tool. I am really going to try to do this in my business. Thanks so much for your insight and sharing.
  • cherisizzles
This is one of the most valuable interviews I have seen. Sherman is so likeable and easy to talk to, it makes me realize that sometimes the old ways are the best ways. I'm not a huge fan of all the internet links and websites, so this is so reassuring! I love that Sherman built his business in the first ten months without having ANY tools!! Proof positive.
  • pech
Agree with the concept, use the tool to find people, and then face to face at a meeting.
  • This may be the best interview yet? Sherman's wisdom is really permeating through here. I'm going to have to watch this several times (ok 16 like Zig Ziglar) to extract the full value from it. I like that he talks about giving some value to the tool/opportunity through the scarcity, social proof and commitment steps but I also like his reinforcing what Jeffrey J Fox says (and I think I commented this way on another video) that a shot on goal is never a bad play - especially if you reflect on how that went and continuously strive to improve your metrics whilst remembering that this is a people business - so you have to be ethical about that.
  • I like not including my website on my business card to get people to call so I will have more one-on-one contact. Also, the suggestion to make the follow-up appointment!
  • TAbrams
Love the old school vs new school discussion that is ongoing in the background. I have met alot of new representatives that get started and think that the new school social mediums are the new "jam in the jelly roll".. Many of them then hide behind these and look at these mediums as a shortcut to building the business.

Still need to bring your work ethic, continue to build the personal relationship that this industry has been successfully built on over the past many years.

I love to hear that Sherman still does and thinks that 1 on 1's to be highly effective. I believe combining all styles of meetings 1 on 1's, 2 on 1's, 3 way calls, homes meetings, business opportunity meetings - what ever it may be all ensures you have continued activity and continued exposures within your organization.

The way Sherman gets a commitment and then set's the next appointment - is great follow through advice. Much like how you spoke on in a past episode (If I... Will you?)

Tools are an essential part of our business, they add tremendous credibility to any organization and opportunity. I always look at it as... If you were a contractor you can't build a house without tools, and likewise you can't build a large, solid organization without the effective use of 3rd party tools.
  • Bjorgli
Very interesting to hear about the "technology" (cassette's) effect so many years ago. Wish cd, dvd and "you tube" had the same results.
  • Time tested. Third party tools do work in the right situation. Sherman made a GREAT point--no replicating website. I could not agree anymore. Have them come back to you in some way. And if they do go to a website, that site should NOT have your business on their. Just how to contact you, who you are, your background, etc. Third party tools work because you can always set the appointment to get the tool back which will put you back in touch with the person. I understand that it's better to let the third party tool working for you because it's duplicable--a system.

If someone does use the internet, it should be an extra method of meeting people while you are meeting people in the field. The best part about the internet is that you can drive those new contacts to events and meet them in person. All out massive action offline and online.
  • daddykekere
Eric, what do you do, if after 24-72 hrs the prospect has not viewed the third party tool? I' ve heard different views about how to handle this? What's your take on this?
  • I think Eric covered this in a previous show. When you call and they haven't done what they promised you make another appointment that they agree they can keep and explain that you don't like to appear as though you're chasing them so they need to be sure they will have used the tool next time you call. I think after the second call you leave a message inviting them to call you with a number but making it claer that you won't contact them again so they have to take ownership of their opportunity.
  • It seems like most of the comments are focused a "how to deliver" information. If this segment was "only" about delivering tools and/or information to others, I would agree that there could be a lot discussed as to old school - new school methods.

I think one thing that is being overlooked here is Shermans willingness to "lead others to the promised land"!

Regardless of whether his tactics are old school or new school, he is still out there "supporting" his team by relentlessly doing 1 on 1's, 3 way calls, small meetings, and big meetings.
  • seija
    Good stuff!
  • I am still pretty new in the business and it seems like so many of the things that I have been seeing lately have been pointing more towards the use of social media. This has put me in a dilemma of where to focus my time. I want to thank you for your point of view and survey on relationships and face to face. I have been trying to spend my time doing both social media and face to face. Thus far no one has joined my business through my online work. Everyone in my organization thus far is a direct result of myself or someone that I personally recruited directly approaching and presenting to them. I am glad that I was able to get in touch with that fact due to this segment of the interview. Problem is solved: talk to more people, present myself, present the tools and build a life. Check. Thanks Eric.
  • mrmauriocrawford
This interview is good. The tool placement and follow up are good. very easy.
  • gillym1
I cannot get the last minute of the interview for some reason (streaming problem) however - there is much value in there and it's true - the personal touch always works!
  • Using the tools really is the key. I've been told and believe, "If your mouth is moving, you should be pointing to a tool." Between cd handouts and flip chart presentations, new distributors have simple methods to build their business from day 1.
  • smreed
Being the messenger and letting the tools deliver the message as much as possible. Prospects see this action as easy to duplicate and it allows for 3rd party(s) to deliver the critical information. Your then left to follow-up and close.
  • rmonte
This is an awesome clip. The power of tools combined with the power of personal relationships is second to none. Throw in building for events and we have an amazing formula. Thanks Eric!

There has been an "old school vs. new school" (belly to belly vs. tech tools) discussion going on in some of the prev comments. I think there is really no change in the fundamentals whether they are "old school" practices or "new school" practices...we HAVE TO talk to ppl, we HAVE TO build relationships, we HAVE TO get large groups of ppl doing a little, we HAVE TO get 'together' with them frequently, & we HAVE TO duplicate these actions & be consistent over time. There is just a different way of getting those things done. Changes in society have made it acceptable to communicate & develop relationships in other means (than belly to belly). Several years ago it used to be weird to begin any type of relationship via the web…now look at all of us on this site alone.

I've noticed that many of the million dollar interviews have been with people who started on avg in the late 80s and 90s and some have some common experiences and companies in their backgrounds. Therefore some of the same practices and beliefs are common. We have yet (or at least I have yet) to see a "new school" type be interviewed on NMPRO (if there are some please let me know the show #). I believe there are some out here, as well as many being created right now. The test will be to see if the success can be sustained like many of the interviewees on here have sustained. Maybe in the next 5-7 years those interviews will outnumber the current.

My point is that these practices Sherman and others like him use have had plenty of years to prove successful…and they do work. The new practices (web, video, social media, etc.) have yet to have the time to prove themselves as equally effective or not. I believe there is a place for both as long as the fundamentals can be consistent with both.

Eric, maybe a future show could be sort of a panel (one person who stands by belly to belly vs. another who stands by tech tools)…with you moderating. This could provide some interesting and beneficial info.

Anybody have any feedback in regard to this???
  • Hello j bledsoejr. Here was my response earlier this morning. Your thoughts welcome;

ome of the comments in this episode reminds me of your prior show when you went through the 4 step process of qualifying your prospect and getting a commitment and a time for a follow up.
That said, I could not DISAGREE more with Mr. Unkefer about his philosophy of not putting his www site on his card. This suggests a we adopt a bit of a Luddite mindset and reminds me of a religious organization who tried to kill the printing press 500 years ago. Deny the people the power of information and you can control the message.
With all due respect to his success and knowledge, I suggest that he revisit this self limiting belief and update this particular part of his selling repertoire.
The web is a fundamental, living, information portal that can guide a person to become an INFORMED participant and further qualify and educate the prospect on the particulars they will need to be at 12:00 (thanks Nathan).
To use your line Eric, “The stone cold hard fact” is that people are using the www to learn and become informed 7/24/365, and they are doing from where they want and how they want to learn. If Mr. Unkefer designs and MARKETS his web site correctly, and then integrates and utilizes the available Social Media, responsibly, it will be accretive to his business. He can grow from millions to billions!
Moreover, I question if Mr. Unkefer or any of us want to rely upon “transporting" ourselves to the market. The Web allows us to shorten the distance and be effective. Yes you need to get in front of people and yes you need to tell your story. Start in your own local trading area and sphere of influence, build your business, and then use airplanes and your financial success to take a vacation. How long can one minimize the current set of technologies that are available to us? Moreover why would you. The Generational mix in the marketplace today requires that we repurpose all of the current information into multiple ways to learn so as to match the way the OTHER generations want to learn.
Does Mr. Unkefer use a PDA to communicate with his organization? If so he can deliver this very message to my Apple or Blackberry as a live video email and in so doing broaden his message, invitation and business model. From my perspective as a learning strategist, now happily growing as a Network Marketing professional, it is difficult to deny this paradigm shift in the market.
Yes Belly to Belly, Yes to one on one, Yes you must learn how to tell your story, Yes to all of the fundamentals, but Yes, you must also trust that the www as a TOOL that is now part of our day to day lives.
Erik, can you comment on this and give us your feedback?
  • Jilliangene
Great question - I don't include my website on my cards as well. I find it colors the mind of the prospect. I will use a 3rd party website depending on the person and our conversation. I will hand write it or my website on the back of my card if the person has more of a business sense or really not interested. I find most people I speak with don't understand this business and when I had my website on my card it scared them off. Eric we love hear your thoughts.
  • Dee_Canada
You make a great point here about technology. Well thought out and well spoken. Thank you for shaking me. :0)
  • hillin
Hi jbledsoejr, I do agree with you. New school is way too young to let us make a conclusion on whcih is best.

    Best regards,

    HN

  • Ok Mr. Bledsoe.. You asked me to reply to this post so Here it is...I believe that you are correct as technology becomes more the norm we will see the increase in people doing business online and without physically meeting. Does it happen, Yes.. is it a replacement for looking someone in the eye. hearing their sincerity and seeing their body language as they convey their message? I don't think so... In it's essence the core of our business is relationship building and the BEST way to do that is face to face... the technology enhances that ability to get your message out but in the end belly to belly rules. and it's still the most DUPLICATABLE method out there. Randy Gage is famous for saying: " It's not what works , it's what is duplicatable." reminds of the coach who tells his star point guard. "Great shot, next time pass the ball." That way everyone can be successful and your success and leverage grow too.

BTW- Mike Dillard is interviewed on a series of episodes- not sure the episode #s- and he talks about using "new school" techniques as well. While I don't agree with al of his techniques he has made it work for him. I don't believe his methods are as duplicatable as the Face to face techniques.

  • Great post!
  • It all works. I know successful people that do it the traditional way and successful people that do it the new way. But you are right, all of it comes down to that physical hand shake and real smile face to face to real create the relationships. That is what all the internet marketers I know do. They MEET at events and travel to help each other and their teams no matter if they met them online or offline. Just talk to ALOT of people, share your message, and build the relationships.

I always enjoy dialogue between the “old school” and “new school”. I guess it’s very hard to draw a straight line between these two. We are in evolution and transition process and it’s an ONGOING process. To OPTIMIZE the success blend BOTH approaches in such a way that people KNOW you, LIKE you and TRUST you.

Great discussion of the universal truths of our profession. Personal relationships are important and you can create massive growth by leveraging the tools. "If I...would you" twice a day with a good tool.
  • We are in an age of social networking without personal contact. It's great to hear from someone that does it the old fashion way. Warm market person to person builds credibility and your sincerity shows thru.
  • Sherman's discussion is what I would call a traditional MLM presentation - which is fine when you have a warm market. I agree that the Internet may be slower but you are at least attracting people to you and building trust instead of chasing them.

What are your feelings about different nationalities and their acceptance of old style MLM. Emerging countries appear to be lapping up the opportunity offered to them but some of the established countries who have heard it all before don't seem quite so keen on this type of system any more.
  • Judith,

I agree. Attracting people sure does put you in a better position than chasing.
  • Cool. so does a recorded phone message trump a CD?

People jump on the internet anyway. They google your name and your business to see who they are partnering with---even more so if they are in your "warm" market.
  • jerryscribner
    Tools are the key
  • jean_albert
One on One's with a third party tool & follow-up! great - thanks,
  • Using the leverage of tools really helps to build my business. The key is how to introduce the material and how to follow up.
    Thanks for the great tips.
  • rayrios
Wow, Wow, Wow...and I am not barking!!! So many GOLDEN NUGGETS...Posture comes to mind, Keeping it Simple Stu....Student, sorry for the studder. Let the Tools do the talking, let the prospect feel you for real!!! Thanks for this interview...Much more to learn..

    Hi Eric,
It is nice to know that you are not failing if you don't get rich over night.
  • Jilliangene
    So true!! Say it loud!!
  • jpmendoza
More great information, all about meeting people, using tools, sense of urgency, place a tool in someones hand, get a commitment, follow up. This is Great Stuff
  • Katie N
Hi Eric, I am really enjoying this interview. I feel like I can hang in there even though business is slow right now.
  • Hey Katie - remember the "Pound the rock" video. If it's slow you may need to increase activity without of course appearing desperate - you have the jewels - there is a Promised Land and We Can get there Together ;-) Hang in there.
  • dougharkins
Say as little as possible to as many people as we can (minimum 2 a day) as fast as possible. Using whatever tools are available for third party validation.
  • bryantkeefe
Happy Wednesday to all! Another great message.

not sure if I agree with the cd/dvd comment. This is a youtube, short impact video society where the more senses you can incorporate in your message the better. I wish we could have smell-o-vision DVD's!! I want my prospect to have to sit down and pay attention for 15 mins to a compelling message. Although he's right CD's can be listened to in a car; is that person really paying attention while driving? maybe, maybe not. However, he is the million dollar earner and I'm not (at this point) so that makes his point very strong :)
I also thought it was interesting that he used the word "upline" when talking about how to place the tool. I, like I'm sure many have been taught not to use that word in particular when prospecting. I guess that shows that if you JUST DO IT enough the law of numbers will kick in and an average will appear. From there you can control in a way your growth based upon how many people you expose to the business in a certain time frame and what your "closing" ratio is.
Great info, looking forward to tomorrows show.
  • bethascoli
I agree with your comment about CD vs. DVD. Maybe I have a short attention span or I just learn better visually but I find it hard to focus on an audio. I do listen to them in the car, but I want my prospect to sit down and watch something - with an audio your mind can wander and you don't always get the full message.
  • I like to describe my upline as "my mentor" which is more accurate and gives prospects confidence that this is a supportive business where everyone's success depends on the team succeeding. I think "upline" encourages the "pyramid" link.
  • peterragg
Sherman may be slightly old school, but what he is doing fundamentally works for him and his team big time and we should learn from his experiences. He comes across as a very honest person who people "buy" within 30seconds. As i said in my previous post People buy People. Well done Sherman.
    Kind regards

Tools, meeting and follow up, follow the system.. the secret is out!
I was in the business 4 months before I recruited the first person.... I hope the same that happened to Mr Unkefer happens to me!!
  • Taking all of the messages on board so far, I don't think it will be long before you will be able to project an image of yourself into a meeting room and do a 'virtual' 2 on 1 ;-)

Use the tools and tell your story to get face to face meetings. Small meetings lead to larger meetings, which means your helping more people that end the ends helps you.
  • clairecameron
Tools for duplication and real people contact for relationships and trust. I like it.
  • I understand it better now. Events are important of course but do small meetings and one-on-ones as often as possible to get maximum results!
  • Love the idea of no website on your business card. I am going to consider that approach and see how it works out. Thanks for the tip. Looking forward to tomorrows part. Make it a great day!
    God Bless!
  • It has taken me a long to time to get this and I still fail. The most difficult task I have is to say little, getting a commitment to watch the third party tool and the commitment to a follow up. I have had success with one on ones, creating websites where people show up, investigate and join and while I enjoy the 'sales' aspect more than the relationship aspect... because I am well trained at sales and not as well trained at 'enrollment' and relationship building... this method lacks the power of duplication.

While one on ones and website work they send a certain message to the person who joins. The message is 'this is the way to do it.' Yes they get in, sometimes after one view of the site or one view of the one on one and now they expect the same thing to occur for them... not going to happen. You can even tell people that they will have to do 40 one on ones a week for 5 people to join a month, you have to have 120,000 hits to your website for every person who joins ... they still think it should happen for everyone they talk to and every couple hits because that's the way it occurred for them.

The third party tool allows me to disappear, be a messenger and demonstrate they and anyone else can do this better than me. If I allow my sales skills to engage, a certain kind passion is released and all too often people join who wonder 'what happened' the very next day. Buyer’s remorse sets in and they go into the witness protection plan immediately. When it happens to everyone over the next two months it cannot be the company, the product, the compensation plan… there is only one common denominator. ME.
  • Ernesto_Busnelli
    Hola Miguel.
You have lots of good points here.
Sharp way to look at things.
  • 3rd party tools are essential for duplication, getting people together as a group, very important.

I know there are a lot of people who do hide behind Facebook, Twitter, their websites, etc. However, I also believe that the Internet is an amazing tool to reach and connect with people in far away places in a much faster way.

The smart networker will not just build a large list of Twitter followers or FB friends. The smart networker takes it to the next step. Pick up the phone and call that person... use Skype if they're in a foreign country. Get a real voice connection.

Send them something in the mail, like a greeting card.. and then yes, when you have a group in that place or country, get on the plane and go there.
  • I totally agree with you Patty! The tools of the Internet and Social Networks can be used very effectively to connect with people from all over the world. Thanks for sharing with us.
  • Hi Edward,

You're welcome! I'm a big fan of technology, but nothing replaces a real voice, real handshake and real face to face connection.

  • Ernesto_Busnelli
Yet another slice of expertise being shared.
Sherman has such a quiet confidence.
It makes me feel better about the 1 to 1's. I was
starting to wonder if that was a waste of my time or
perhaps small thinking on my part.
  • yuvalcohen
    Hello Eric.
I loved the things that were said. Running again and again. And use the tools that we have, most importantly, simplicity and joy
  • liora
    Great, Thanks
  • Matt Genet
My take on this video was take advantage of every tool in your toolbox to create as many exposures as possible in the shortest time.

Other tip I took from this was to not hide behind social media and to make interactions as personal as possible.
  • Correct use of social media is valid - incorrect use of social media was what Eric meant when he referred to "hiding behind Twitter" etc. The early posts in this string are an example of incorrect MLM moron activity - simply firing out the link without adding value to spam your followers. Everyone has a learning curve including with social media - the danger is it reaches a lot of people and therefore magnifies your mistakes whereas a 1:1 does limited harm if you screw it up ;-)
  • garyparmenter
Great information! It makes so sense to share third party tools as a teaser to introduce your product and company. It was interesting that he did not have his website on his business cards. His idea is to keep up the personal direct contact. Great concept! Again meetings, meetings, meetings, produce the greatest results. Thanks!
  • julie67
Tools are great, but you need to mold yourself into a "tool" also. Add something good to yourself every day!
  • it's so interesting to listen to all the different leaders, they all say it in their own way but the fundamentals seem to always be the same. Looking forward to the entire uncut episode this Friday.
  • Jeroen Lingier
In my company there are some big meetings. I think the my progress can also be fired up through local presentations. I like the drive that mr. Unkefer is showing.

Getting a committment for 48-72 hours is really important. Great info like Eric's 4 questions on #160.

i think this is an interesting time for network marketing. we are just sorting out how to use technology to be most efficient. isn't that what we are talking about in the end? efficiency and time leveraging?

isn't the great equalizer activity? even if you are sending smoke signals to prospects, the guy with email or internet, or a website for that matter is not going to recruit as many people if he's sitting behind his technological advancement surfing facebook for old high school girlfriends!
  • Marion
Great interview, encouraging to know that one on one is not a waste of time!
  • Dee_Canada
Great information about the time to use the third party tool and the time to do personal face to face. In the end it's not just about recruiting, it even more about retention and duplication. There is WORK to do to get the lifestyle....face to face...WORK. The payback can be far more in the long term...THAt is the dream that we all chase !! :0)
  • JenniferDu79
You guys touched on it but don't sit and wait for the big event to get your prospect plugged in. If it is over two weeks away the interest could dim and then you lose them. THey will have moved on andyou will be sitting there wondering what happened.
  • Great 3rd part. Once again, the importance of placing value on the 3rd party tool.
  • Art D. lasvegas
THANKS FOR THE NEVER ENDING ADVICE
  • Pepeneto
"This CD could be the most important finacial tool you ever had"...great way to get prospect in the couriosity to watch it. And the most important thing, you need to get a cominmment for the next 48 o 72 hours to have a conversation about the information in the CD.
  • kellylanley
People, it's all about getting it in front of people. I don't think that will ever change!
  • Pete
More great advise. I look forward everyday to the good news that you put out to us
  • billrogers
Fantastic points brought up about tools in todays market. Building a solid foundation to a business is done thru the face to face relationship developed between two people. Tools are great but nothing beats face to face. Using tools speeds your growth process when done properly. Fortune is still in the folllow up.
  • frankdiaz
Good interview....I like the fact that Sherman uses the basics, belly to belly its a fact that this is a relationship biz. also, he uses the escalation process two on one's then small home meetings which feed into large Venue, thats exactly the process i use. I do think that with the technology that we have today, a link vs. cd or dvd can be very effective..thanks for the insight........
  • Maxwellhealth
The underlting message is the "Law of Massive Action"....multiple channels of exposure validated along the way with 3rd party tools.....in person, via audio/video, even 3ways...but massive action across the team with tools leading the way
  • eddyoshaughnessy
If I give you .......will you .....

    Pearls of today:
Scarcity /privileged: only have a handful of CD
    Book a follow up appointment.

    Thanks a million
  • This is a very old school approach to Network Marketing Business. I disagree with not using the website. I think you can still use the website as a 3rd party tool. You can call someone and have them watch the presentation on the website ( a 3rd party tool) and tell them you will call them back in 10 min or when however long your presentation is and follow up. Then if they are motivated they can sign up right away. How does he handle long distance prospects that he cant get too? He might have many resources to tap into because of his large organization but for the new person that is just getting started they cant tap into a downline or crossline to connect with a long distance prospect.

I agree that personal communication is key to this business. But again what I am hearing from this interview is its a numbers game...go get your 100 no's before you get that 1 yes. I really think this will get a lot of people in the business quickly but he hasn't said anything about retention. How do you keep that new person in the business instead of selling the dream and then on to the next target.

I believe in building the community so what if i dont get the sign up. Maybe this is not for them. What if I got a customer instead? That would still drive product which would increase your income. I would rather have 10 business builders with a handful of customers than 100 sign ups that 90 percent aren't going to be here in a couple of months. Ok I am off my soap box.

I hope everyone has a great day.
  • My upline uses webinars, video and teleconferences to keep in touch because the global marketplace can mean that the upline is on the opposite side of the planet so we can't rule out the internet as a tool - however, the Acres of Diamonds principal dictates that we ought to be able to build the business the "old fashioned" way leveraging the speed of trust instead of technology.
  • cherisizzles
Many good points, Chris! I agree with everything you said. There is nothing more frustrating than having all of your sign-ups disappear! I agree that there are some instances where using the internet (for watching videos, especially) can be just as effective. I think the key is in the follow-up. And especially in getting them to set the NEXT meeting. Good points!
  • Darnell
I love it with having this step by step on going approach to getting people involved and having that person to person contact versus just behind the monitor. Real relationships do build real trust with others and true leaders are made this way in the process!! Thank you very much....looking 4ward to the next video!!
  • Lorraine
posted my comment on the wrong show! oops! I love the concept of doing 200 consecutive meetings. I have a new goal to add to my goals for the year.:)

    Hi Eric
    I want to share this
Teach means you show a person how to market their MLM business, you train them how to invite people in a professional way to look at, how to present it, and finally how to train these areas. Network marketing is simply teaching inviting, presenting, and training.
And for me it is very important to keep in touch with my leaders and motivate them. To be shure that they understand the system and to be sure that they teach the system well to their downlines. And of course one of the powerfull tools is DVD for me.

I would agree that having the proper tools is extremely important. My personal opinion on audio is that it would have to be extremely compelling for me to really pay attention. Video has a tendency to really capture your attention (especially in the ADD world we live in), so I prefer to use that medium.

I disagree with Sherman about using a website. I would have agreed with him 2 years ago because technology and the way people watched TV or movies was still on a traditional TV set. Today it's a different story, there is a major shift in how we watch TV and movies. The computer is now becoming the new TV set, that's why websites like Hulu.com are so successful. Watching a video on the computer can add interactivity that watching a DVD can't do. To clarify, I mean a website that has the video presentation on it, not facebook, twitter or email. Social media should only be used to foster a relationship not present the business. The key factor to using the website correctly would be to use the "If I...Would you" method that Eric has taught us. Have the candidate INVEST in the process.

    Nando
  • I agree with audio vs video.
  • pollyhulseman
Get in front of people as many times as you can no matter the number. I like that.
  • Hans
I like this line when handing out the video or DVD: I have a lot of people who want to hear it!
Excellent and I wished in my case that would be true...
Then when it comes to whether or not putting your website on your business cards: I remember the top NSA-producer making millions a month back in the early days saying: I never used or handed out any business cards, I would always gather them or get their contact details, so that I could call them up instead of waiting for their calls, which mostly never came. He made millions a month without using the internet back then nor use any business cards. Still amazing to me to this day! He found people's needs and wants and showed them how our/his business could fullfill those needs and wants. And then he confronted their fears and doubts to help them see them and overcome them and trained them all the way to success if they were willing to commit to his and his wife's business.

I also liked the idea of getting people out their promoting before the ink dried up on the new person's application.

Great series! Wondering if this Sherman Unkefer is the one mentioned on the web with government links to the US government as well as the advisor to the Pinochet-regime. If so, that would also be an amazing twist to this man's stories together with him loosing his beloved wife. Seems like he had to overcome a few not-so-easy obstacles in his life over time. A real persevering fighter, no doubt!
  • Bryan_in_KC
Bill Goldsmith is dead on with his comment and I echo his thoughts. So much of this is standard network marketing, but it's always good to hear it again.

Some of us may be on facebook cuz it's the trend. Feeling the pressure and checking it out. Love to interact before sending prospects to the website. Great wisdom in this show.

This is an interesting perspective. The last NM company I was with discouraged one-on-ones because it was a lot of driving around and it taught the newcomers how to run the business the wrong way. But Sherman seems to have made it work. In my current situation, I'm working (or should I say learning how to work) my new network marketing business full time and I was feeling discouraged about myself and my performance because so far I've only been able to get one-on-ones, 3-ways. But based on what Sherm is saying, I think the mistake I'm making is not those small meetings, but the mistake is not having enough of those small meetings.

Eric, here are a couple of things (among many other) of great value that I have gotten from this masterpiece you call NMPRO:
    1) Validation - I don't feel like such a zero because now I can see these millionaires having gone through some of the learning steps I'm now going through.
    2) M-E-T-R-I-C-S -- This is sooooo important to me. I don't know if I can do 200 meetings like Sherm did in a year but at least now I have some idea of what I can aim for. Yes, it's a huge goal but coming out of the corporate world where people dictated the performance criteria and going into network marketing where the metrics are not always dictated, this is comforting to me because I have a target to shoot for. Maybe I won't make it but at least I'm not wandering around in circles trying to figure out if what I'm doing is good enough. Now I know it's not and I am learning what is good, consistent performance from your interviews.

Here's my question: Sherman does a lot of little meetings among the larger meetings.
The people he invites to the 2nd meetings, will those meetings be the first time they have been exposed to the business opportunity or the 2nd or 3rd time so that they can be layered with the same business opportunity information? (Yes, I did register for your marketing events webinar.)
  • Jillian
I appreciate the fact that the most important thing is a face to face encounter. You may artificially get the business in front of more people electronically, but I think you lose many by exposing via electronic means because you have no idea whether they are watching it, and with how much focus. So the belly to belly approach may be less rapid, but probably more thorough in the long run. I think the sponsor becomes more proficient in this process as well.
  • carolbarrett
Wow--great information. Eric, thanks for introducing me to Mr. Unkefer.
  • Don Harrington
    3rd party tools work great!
    Thanks Eric.
  • Mark Dickson
Once again Mr. Unkefer put it on the nose. Work, if they say no next. Move your info around.
  • jeffreyhall
Mr. Unkefer's insights reinforce the importance of the fundamentals and the fact that you must get into and stay in activity to grow a business. The web cannot provide that personal "touch" that is so needed when you are speaking with a prospect. That will most likely be the deciding factor in them joining your business and gettng engaged. Another view - leadership.
  • Some of the comments in this episode reminds me of your prior show when you went through the 4 step process of qualifying your prospect and getting a commitment and a time for a follow up.
That said, I could not DISAGREE more with Mr. Unkefer about his philosophy of not putting his www site on his card. To use your line Eric, “The stone cold hard fact” is that people are using the www to learn and become informed 7/24/365, and they are doing from where they want and how they want to learn.
  • JenniferDu79
I agree with you about the web site. It should be put on your business card. I however feel that it should be a happy medium. I think a landing page should be used. This way you can provide a taste of your opportunity and then you will also know that the friend was interested in your business enough to take a peak. The way mine is set up there is a brief intro they provide their contact info and it then takes them to the full company site. I am with you about being open. I have nothing to hide and I feel a bit of the cloak and dagger stuff is what give NWM people a bad rep. no one wants to be invited to a friends house and be blindsided with a chart where circles are being drawn. :) We wouldn't hide our company site if we worked for AT&T or some other major corporation. We are professionals as well and need to present ourselves as such.
  • You are dead on. The Internet is here to stay. The younger generation the future of our business is leveraging technology to communicate effectively. My son is trying to raise money for a school trip called people to people. He choose to build a web page as the medium to communicate to a large group of people. He is still doing the traditional snail mail to friends and family but he is using the website to tap into a larger market to get his message out to raise donations. Reading your post and reflecting on the interview today made me think about how he chose to communicate. So I think we really need to leverage technology more.
  • bethascoli
I agree that the internet is important (when used the right way). More and more people are going online, and we need to go where the people are! I'm not talking about recruiting online, but at least having a prescence.

I also traveled with People to People when I was a kid, it was a great experience! The website is a great idea - when I did it we had to just sell t-shirts to raise the money, lol. Where is your son going?
  • He is going on the Europe Heritage trip (London, Paris, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and Netherlands) I am jealous.

After watching him put his plan together it hit me that our younger generation is more in touch with technology; email, websites, podcast, and videos. Thats my point lets dont forget that the younger generation is our future business. :)
  • A fair point - I think there is a little bit of a danger in overdoing the bad press about social networks - they have a place and for certain (low priced) offers they can generate a lot of leads and potential business. The time taken to build trusted relationships through social media could reduce the leverage available but I think it still has to be a part of the funnel. Perhaps in Eric's 10 years on show we will have a load of NMPros explaining how they leveraged the internet and video etc to make their fortune in half the time. We'll see.
  • Bill, in my experience when you meet a potential prospect and give them a card with a web address, they will look at your site and then google your opportunity and see all the negative BS that uninformed people write about MLM. This does put some people off.

If, on the other hand, you can build a trusting relationship first, show them how your opportunity can give them what they want, answer objections, and THEN point them to a website you'll get a better result. You have to do what duplicates best for you, and this seems to be what Sherman does. 10,000 people joining his group in one month says it all really. Why should he fix what's not broke?

  • Great point Mark. I made a similar observation below - they also have the opportunity to see competing offers.
  • I like the moral of the story.
Here as promised. Fired Up and Focused!
  • mariasiro
It gives so much inspiration and strength to listen to all these shows, I'm now going full speed! thanks a lot!!!
  • annenz
    These sharings are priceless. Thanks
  • Ngoc Tran
Yes, I do like one on one. The issue is that how to duplicate new person doing one on one effectively. Tools are also important to support. So what should I talk, what should I provide for the prospects? All of these sometimes make me so confuse. Thanks Eric, back to your last episode, we already have a magic surveying question: If I…, would you…?
  • This is GREAT stuff... just what I needed! And this sooo similar to what you teach before. :-)
  • hlj521
I love how the momentum is just to get whoever whenever to see the third party tool or to meet one on one or in a small group or at a meeting. It is all about getting people in front of the presentation or information however, and whenever. I love it. I sometimes get caught up in the "formality" of when and where instead of just getting someone right in the moment to view the third party tool. I am getting so much value from this interview! Thanks Eric!
  • I was reading something the other day that encouraged me to practice several different ways of making the presentation so that you are comfortable, competent and effective whenever the opportunity provides itself. Like Martinin - any time, any place, any where ;-)
  • Cee_G
    Hi Eric..
Another great episode. Very clear steps about tool placement and setting the appointment for follow up. Extremely helpful. Thank you!
  • Great. Yes, I prefer face to face meetings. I like the idea of emphasizing the value and scarcity of the tool and asking for a 'commitment' at the time the tool is left with the prospect. I'm incorporating that.
  • keith murfet
Certainly some great statements here but probably one that really hit home was "Tools create duplication and without duplication the business doesn't grow." Too true!
  • The great thing about doing the one to one while still doing the larger event is uncovering the person that is or will be a champ.
  • germanjaramillo
One to One: Yes or No?

I think the One to One is an important tool for mlm business. But i thin, has the following disadvantages:

It is less duplicated the home meetings requiring the skill of the presenter to explain the business. In a home meeting by posting a video, the tools we carry the message to all people and end simply answer the questions.

Moreover, whereas in a one to one about an hour invested in one person, at the same time can bring opportunity to at least 5 people giving third-party tools or presentation at home.

A special greeting from Cali, Colombia,

    -GJ

Contact,persuasion,committment,follow-up, sign-up. This is all good stuff but what about the part time NM people that have to deliver this information or sales tool to each prospect. Speeding things up takes alot of time and most people get tired of running around that is why they choose to use other sources.
  • A fair point but I think one of the other lessons that I am picking up here is that quality is better than quantity. If you land the $300,000 a year realtor who then goes on to become a top earner it cancels out 10,000 of the people that recruit 2 or 3 then quit. Time is precious - you're right there - but the leverage of getting the right people is even more important - it would seem?
  • This is very refreshing to hear... people do buy from people they trust so if you can get them to listen to you and they like you, they will join you. This is why live meetings will always be the absolute best way to build your MLM business!

Thanks for another great episode with Sherman... looking forward to #4!
  • karenandian
Personal interaction is key. We like the idea of not putting your website on your business cards. That ensures a personal contact!
  • tomlacey
Wow there too many nuggets of wisdom in that 9 minutes to count. Lots of food for thought on how and what to use for recruiting. There is no escaping this is a face to face business.
  • It is true. A website is just a website, and as easy to go to it, it is equally easy to shut it down. Somewhere down the road you have to interact and built trust. People do not join the company, they join YOU!
  • karenandian
They do join YOU and not the company! We had not thought of it that way before.
  • Third Party Tools - and no internet, interesting,
  • clickjt
Wow-it's an amazing thing to watch 2 great pros like Eric and Sherman.
  • Using a higher source in CD's and other tools is defiantly the way to go.

Belly to Belly an Face-to-Face is how we have built a 6 figure residual. I do think in todays day an age you do need an internet presence of some kind: website, facebook, twitter.
  • I also think audio has it's place and I have been in a pipeplie that used a recorded message to "pre-qualify" prospects ahead of a 3rd party interview - again via phone. I bought the product but it would have been even nicer to meet someone - especially for a $4999 sale.
  • JenniferDu79
I agree websites should be in place as long as they are done properly. Plus Twitter isn't just for the prospect it helps you connect with your team as well.
  • Yes, thats what I was wondering, if an acheiver could be using such sort of online prospecting tools, but now I understand use of third party tools in our business.

Thanks ERIC for bringing such useful information to us.

    Regards
  • Erik
Great info from this interview. This my posting # 200 at NMPRO :)
  • Tony
It's interesting that he doesn't use a web site for recruiting at all.
  • Often you can't make a sale until you have heard and answered customers' objections so you need to provide that opportunity and you need to ask for the business with a close (unless they complete get it and are at "high noon"). You won't get that from a website visit - they'll review it and can click away anytime. I think the other point that I glean from this is that you cannot control the viewing environment when they visit the site - they might be surrounded by "red lighters" who trash you message and kill the seed. Far better to control the environment and provide the opportunity for dialogue to encourage trust and build that relationship.
  • MagnusEdvald
I appreciate this interview. Many good points. Thanks
  • Looks like you are saying it comes down to talking to people!
  • This gets better and better. 10 - 12,000 per in a month! I can see I haven't been thinking big enough.

    Big message here. Tools duplicate.
  • What about the 700 - 1000 phone calls a week! Crikey!
  • peterburrows
    Yip....!
I'm gonna need to watch this one over and over and over......just like yesterday's.
The gold dust is still sprinkling Eric.... thanks.
    Pete
  • Pete - where's your avatar?
  • Simon_and_Lia_NL
belly to belly, face to face, there is nothing to hide in NM. That is the heartbeat of the business
  • Our work is talking to people. You can use any tool that helps you to meet people - just do it every day. If you give 2 people a tool every day, you will have non stop meetings with your prospects or your downline prospects.
  • wouterdeprez
waw, i think the internet thing will shock many people..
  • aliceclifford
Hi : Eric I look forward every day to watch your videos. You & Sherman have so many good points.I have not missed a day a dear friend passed your link to me( 11-6-09) . How ever i do wish you could make it a little easer to post comments.1 or 2 times the site would not let me comment. I do not want miss out on the big 100. A.C.
  • I agree Alice, I find Disqus very flakey and puts me off commenting when it takes so long to log in.
  • Guys your right but "that's just the way it is" its a small price worth paying - AND it gives you time to be more brilliant with your analysis and comment ;-0 Keep the faith. Daily Disciplines Done Daily Build Character.
  • I agree Brad, I look forward to breakfast watching NMP.
  • Mailen
Well lets go out and talk to people, today and every day........
  • I love the idea of getting people committed to listen to the cd (or other tool) that you give them and putting a sense of scarcity in the approach to listen, follow up and get it back...while I love the web/video, you can't create scarcity because the site isn't going anywhere. It will be there whenever (if ever they get there). Great show today.
  • Good point Darrell re. the scarcity
  • jacob stiner
Hey Eric fun to hear high-level network and the simplicity of the work, meke the possibility to meet and talk with people and attach them to business.
  • Lisette
    Hi Eric!
Talk to people, talk to people............
It seems to be the core of this profession, and that "tool" (the mouth) is always with me
So I have no excuse, not to work.

Looking forward to the show tomorrow.
  • davidgreene
I Expected Part 3 to be Excellent & I was not disappointed what so ever!! Talk to People, Talk to People, Talk to People ~ that's our Profession.
