Loving the concepts you guys lay out for us. good work!
  • ViktoriaGuerin
Very good interview with lots of useful tips. Main thing is to be focused and consistent. Day in and day out.
  • Great interview. This is one I will listen to often.
  • JON FORTI
    BE HONEST & CONSISTENT.
  • BobbyRay
    1. To build a 500 person room you need a lot of small ones
    2. Keep looking for leaders.
    3. 17 % take business serious
    Great interview
  • CINDYSU
The 3 most memorable items for me are: 1) That Mr. Unkefer tried several other companies and didn't havea the success that he wanted before he found the "right" one...and then committed to it and achieved great success. 2)His "warm market" survey 3) and a meeting is worth $50K.

And I loved how he simply summed it up with 1)Find a good company, 2) Commit to it and work hard and consistently and 3) Be honest and above board.

    Great interview! Thanks.
  • David Wright
I procrastinating on watching the full interview and got the answer to a lingering question about how to identify potential leaders where someone may not be a "natural" or obvious leader. One of the best millionaire interviews I've watched. Thanks Eric
  • travelprohawaii
I like it that it is so simple that the "tool" is really a tool not convincing mechanism. It really is my people skills that will help the close. I also like it that I can get the tool back and reuse it. I like it that I don't have to convince anyone to join the business. I want to help those that want help. Oh cool I like that thinking about meetings are really $50k/meeting so no matter what I need to show up!....Cool! Ok I am not a failure even though I have not been a success yet. I will stay consistent and the course!
  • AdvocareJax
That survey about warm markets was great

His defining moment is very similar to my current circumstance

Word choice for sharing 3rd party tools
  • Jessi
Consistency, honesty and the importance of personal meetings would be my top three. Thank you
  • hanneretvik
Thanks for a very interesting interview! I totally agree with Camille Rogers post. It surprised me a bit that though that "Fake it till you make it!" is not true.
Looking forward to the next interview!
  • robbinsaturniewicz
Got busy this week, this was a good refresher. More little meetings in my future and use of tools.
The math behind network marketing stood out to me in this interview.
  • Vonnita2010
AMAZING INTERVIEW, SO HONEST, JUST GOES OUT AND SAYS IT, THIS IS THE TYPE OF PERSONG THAT IS WILLING TO JUST GO OUT AND HELP OTHER MAKE THEIR DREAMS COME TRUE, LOVE THE ATTITUDE, AND NO WONDER WHY LEADERS COME TO HIM INSTEAD OF HIM LOOKING FOR LEADERS!!! FOR SURE ANOTHER ONE MILLION DOLAR INTERVIE!!

There is too much "gold" in here to choose just 3 things!
    But my favourites are:
    Personal interaction,
The fortune is in the followup,
    Consistency, and
Small meetings lead to big meetings.
Thank you so much Eric for this fantabulous interview.
    I learnt so much.

    3 - Consistent, Commitment

  • Ton Oosterwijk
    1. 17%

    3. emotional re-sponsorship
  • penaltybox1
This was a great interview so much more when watched in whole
  • Thank you for this excellent interview. There are far more than 3 memorable things:
    1) The importance/balance of Honesty, Humility, Consistency, Focus, Daily Action, Persistence, Commitment, Exposure, Follow-up, Leverage, 3rd Party Credibility, Personal Development (work harder on you than anything else), select a Good Company, and Recognize Empirical Data.
    2) People love to attend Good Meetings - and meetings can be anything from 2 people over coffee to a huge conference.
    3) Personal relationships build a solid foundation for business. Respond to and empathize with people. Look for leaders - they come early, stay late and ask questions. Use tools as support; don't hide behind them.

  • Inger
I totally agree with you. I like your summery of memorable things, I was just about to fill in mine with the almost the same comment you gave when I read yours... So I second you in this!
  • goingpro
Warm market. So true. How many calls from craigslist? Ads?
People tend to do business with those they trust. You never know who'll be in change mode.
  • emmettb
    good stuff, some day!
  • crwood1967
As I have said before, I really like the uncut versions of these interviews. It gives a great perspective of the flow and the great leadership of these million dollar earners.
  • What a great interview. I think we all appreciated Sherman's down to earth nature and honesty.
Some of my favorite takeaways were
1 - How at first wasn't interested and took 90 days to engage. Persistence and patience for his sponsor.
2 - The real stories of the ups and downs like the credit card decline
3 - That warm market, meetings and relationships is still the core of the business
  • Markv Dickson
Great over all interview. I'll watch it over again as one of my favorites. Off to my Company's Convention.
  • gkamlm
What a testimonial for the basics, persistence, honesty and integrity, thanks Eric and Sherman.
  • Lorraine
Three things that stuck with me is: 1) he started from scratch the 3rd time around. He had exhausted his sphere of influence and continued to succeed and become a top player.
    2) consistency-follow up
    3)laser focus
  • gerritbronkhorst
    1. Know your numbers. 2. Law of average. 3. This is a business of building relationships.
  • Connie Tolton
Sherman thanks for sharing your not so successful moments with us - it makes it easier to get up when we stumble knowing that if we keep moving we will overcome and continue to progress and learn.

    Connie T
  • mspaulamc
    1. Persistence - Sherman never quit. 2. Follow up - the fortune is in the follow up. 3. It is not only who you know .. but rather who they know. Leapfrogging.

Eric - you continue to set the bar high for a our profession - thanks!
  • dawnmarielagmay
The 3 most memorable things, to me, about this interview are: building relationships, consistancy, and his real, raw-self, (ie the story about his wife having to count coins).
  • Some very down to earth value and very encouraging. Thank you both for sharing.
  • kgadol
    So valuable. Thank you.
  • alltheverybest
Be honest (no faking it ..).
    Be consistent.
Don't give up - even he had to take time to be successful.
  • Mark_Abrahams
I've loved this interview and learnt a great deal. Thanks so much Sherman. Thanks again Eric
  • rosslopez
The most memorable things I found from this great interview are:
    - Get involved with the company, use the system, use the tools, make meetings and talk to people
    - Personal growth which involves consistency, commitment, honesty
    - This is a face to face business and all is about building relationships
I've learned a lot from this interview... Thanks Eric and Sherman
    Hugs from Mexico
    Rossana =o)
  • When you look at the people who are ultra-successful in network marketing, it is hard to believe that they started exactly where you and I started. I enjoy hearing the process they go through - all of the small meetings; the importance of leveraging the tools of our trade; and how important it is to follow up with everyone you talk with. And even more important are your values of integrity and truthfulness combined with the work ethic of commitment and consistency that you bring to your business. These ingredients are available to all of us to build the life we see when we close our eyes and dream. Thanks Eric and Sherman!
  • Three things I liked most are: His smile, his honesty and his percentages!
  • mbryant
Excellent interview! Most memorable: 1) story about his credit card being rejected with his downline present. 2) Acknowledgment of holding meetings with no guests present. 3) consistency is the key to everything!
  • Gustavo Muñoz - Colombia
simple.... consistency, personal relationship and performing meetings at home
  • Another great interview with one of the MLM's greatest recruiters, Mr. Sherman Unkefer!

Thanks Eric for all you do!
  • bghcancun
nice! thank you for that words
  • karivankleef
3 most memorable things- there were many more than 3 but if I pick just 3 it would be:
    Being consistent
Backbone of the business is your warm market
Failures don't define your future and it's not a straight shot to the top.
  • FrankMarshman
To sit at the feet of a master is what everyone who is serious should want to do.
  • Great interview Eric! Thank you!
  • enrique62
Consistency:the backbone of the industry- warm market, meeting with 2-3 people.

    Honesty:Tool-third party credibility

humbleness: focus on what the person wants and not boast of how much I have made.
  • Vange01
Eric, thanks for the interview, Sherman mention a lot of the key things we have to do to become a pro.
  • Pepeneto
    1. Consistency
    2. The "event poll" when ask people to rise their hand. Most people get in the bussines because of their relationships, no internet links or newspaper ads
    3. Start doing house meetings that take you to international meetings one day. People know people and people know people and people know people.
  • TAbrams
Great Interview. I really enjoyed hearing Mr. Unkefer's story as it re-confirmed many of the things I have been taught by my mentors.

The 3 most memorable things that I took away were:

    1 - Consistency
2 - Method of Daily Operation (Exposures, Exposures, Exposures) Have to bring your Work Ethic
3 - Be Honest (High Integrity) but be humble (Don't have a Fake it till you make it mentality)

This business is a long term deal and you have to just plant your flag and you have to pay the price.. It is not a straight line to the top... But we can all get there if we want!!
  • Great interview Eric. Mr. Unkefer is a true network marketing "professional".
    3 most memorable things:
    1- Consistency
    2- Work Ethic
3- Honesty is the best policy
  • Paco_Carreno
I love this simplicity... Clear vision, hard work, quiting not an option... consistency, determination and a commitment to develop whatever skill necessary to achieve the goal. Thank you for sharing.
  • Stephen
Great to hear "the story" again; consistent, credible and coming from Sherman especially so.
  • Okay, I can definitely list more than three but I would say:

    1) The importance of relationships (preferably in-person) to build a substantial business
    2) Be humble and always be honest
    3) Be consistent and ALWAYS follow-up

I really enjoyed this interview. Thank you Eric and Sherman.
  • MattinJaxfl
Get to large meetings with a series of small meetings.

Credit card did not work when trying to recruit but he did not quit.

"Forget fake it till you make." Be honest and proud of your business.
  • 3 most memorable things for me were : face to face business, moving constantly meeting people, follow up. A great interview it was. Thanks again
  • jbledsoejr
Awesome interview! Thanks to you both for sharing!

    QOTD:
    1. Sherman's experience with the credit card being declined
    2. Honesty is ALWAYS best
    3. Hard work and consistency
  • amberaimshigh
Eric! Thank you for bringing these awesome leaders like Mr. Unkefer to teach us this industry! This obviously works... as all of the millionaire leaders say the same thing! Don't recreate the wheel! There is a proven method that works!

    1) Meetings still work ... but need to be great to keep them coming! Remember the survey! Get belly to belly! Create relationships! Completely different than computor business....
    2) Consistancy
    3) Tell the truth! Do not fake it til you make it! Be honest with prospects
  • The shorter interview was great but listening to the uncut full version was even greater.
    1. Consistency - talk to people daily, use third party tools, and follow-up.
    2. Build those relationships - We are still in the "people business" -But have a great company for your passion
    3. There is no "lottery" It is going to take time for our success..Work with those who want what you have - not who need what you have.
  • clairecameron
Interesting that as he got to know management of his previous companies he got less comfortable not more!
  • Athletes4Health
I really like Mr. Unkefer's down-to-earth attitude and work ethic and appreciate the wisdom he shares.
  • claralondono
Consistency in this interview is related to the deep belief in the indstry per se..this does not define the future and only is part of my story
no shows are part of the game...keep going
    Statistics were interesting
do not agree on the leadership view..i believe we all have hidden potential that can be developed with the right triggers...
thank you so much for the HONESTY
  • Really valuable information..members of our team are enjoying the discussions happening post the daily video points-excellent for teaching the nuances and the art of ..and even better getting to where there are some potential roadblocks to duplication !
  • Thanks for bringing Mr. Unkefer to us, Eric.

I didn't get to see the cut chapters, and this "raw footage" is great.
More than anything, Mr. Unkefer strikes me as the credible leader we all strive to be, and who would grace any organization. The 3 most memorable things for me are:

    1. "People love to go to great meetings, not to bad ones." - Now, all we have to do is profile the "great" meetings. I believe that they are the ones that follow the general guidelines of honesty, full disclosure and ethics laid down by Mr. Unkefer here.

    2. Tools are great, if you also know how to tell the story. - A slight qualification that is not always emphasized.

    3. Forget about faking it till you make it. - No elaboration necessary.
  • liora

The things to remember here are: consistency (meetings, follow up, use relationship with de people); use the tools (posture), and increase the candidate list (2 a day), Duplication, Personal Development(stay focus and motivated); identify the leaders; be willing to pay the price...see you at the top!

Exposure, honesty and consistency... and pick the right company!!
  • jc13
Philosophy does not promise to secure anything external for man, otherwise it would be admitting that which lies beyond its proper subject-matter. For as the material of the carpenter is wood, and that of statuary bronze, so the subject-matter of the art of living is each person's own life. Epictetus

Character is the art of living. Character is your unwritten signature. Not only will time promote or expose you, your actions will tell the truthfulness about you. Promises are a politician’s tool. In network marketing there can be no promises. Only actions.

Character matters. Character is not a suit of clothes you put on in the morning and discard at night. Clothes do not make the inner man or woman. Character does not engage a person and discard them when they have served a purpose. In network marketing, one person may fill out the paperwork, but two people are enrolled when the agreement is signed. The handshake is the addendum to the contract.

Mr. Unkefer got up, traveled, and spoke on behalf of the men and women who inked the paper, who in turn provided him with an audience to speak to. His own unwritten signature was as important as the person signing up. Each had faith in the other that character mattered and action is the statement of character. Results will follow from the belief in a person’s character.

    Great interview.....Love his Quiet confidence
  • hcapcarp
I have noticed basics in all the interviews I have listened to. I was surprised that technology played such a minor role.
  • beckydesabah
    1. You can always restart with a good company; past failure is not an excuse
    2. Commitment. . .discipline, daily exposures (placing third party tools) and ofcourse follow up;
    3. Focus and persistence.

Thank you Mr. Unkefer for sharing your knowledge and experience with us in a very clear and honest way.
Thank you Eric for such a great interview.
  • caronwashington
Another great interview...don't know where to start but CONSISTENCY seems to be a common theme along with building relationships. Also the 5-7 seven year success rate where business is exploding. I like in his defining moments he talked about honesty. Key to not only the business but in life. Juice company huh...hmmmm :-)
  • Great interview, thank you Eric and Sherman for give me and open my mind, thank you so much and i love you all......
  • raybeattie
Thanks Eric..another great interview. 3 things I learned, stick to to the basics, work like crazy, and keep working like crazy consistently making presentations.
  • net22
Thank you Eric...this is a great interview. It is obvious that consistency is the key to being successful in this business together with being focused and committed.
  • Ellis3
So much practical face-to-face knowledge he's shared here. Truly one of your best Eric!
  • mchalk
What I hear from Sherman throughout this interview is that network marketing is a people business and your best success will come from face to face meetings. 99% of people become involved in NM because of someone they KNOW....warm market is key. Be honest, have integrity and be consistent in your business. I love the line that people hate bad meetings, but love great ones!
  • krisic
    1) do not give up even when embarrassing things happen
2)it takes alot of committment and work
    3)consistency is key
  • dougcollins
    Great interview Eric...thanks!
  • jerryscribner
Great stuff, simplicity, relationship building, the fundamentals never change
  • Uncut version has some interesting insight not in the short versions, thanks for including.
Three memorable things from this interview to me are honesty is the best policy, meetings make money, and this is a simple business - all you really have to do is focus and be consistent. Get people to a meeting and let them catch the vision. Sherman's statement about not begging or pleading people to join, is also a gem! Thank you!
  • Marion
    3 most memorable things:
    Meetings make Money
    Fortune in the Follow Up
Honesty is the best Policy - Be consistent
  • Marion
Always great to review with an uncut interview - Thanks for a great week!
  • rasdaniels
3 Things most memorable things about this interview - (1) This is a face-to-face; belly-to-belly business (2) people do not like to go to bad meetings; they like to go to great meetings (3) must be consistent in daily activity.
  • Jilliangene
The 3 memorable things are life lessons to success. Be consistent, honest and commitment to this business. The more we stand as professionals the better and more accepted MLM will be. Great interview!! I have 2 questions:
    1. How do you know you have a bad company and it is not your skills that are making you unsuccessful in this business?
    2. Do you think it all the negative stuff about the internet (like MLM) that makes it hard to find people? If we used it with some of 3 party tools (videos, pictures, etc.) and follow-up would we have more success with internet, social sites, etc. and finally have it become one of the options in recruiting business partners?

    Thanks for the great information
    Jillian
  • CarlosVera
Consistency, focus, honesty, defining moments and how you face frustration.........Great stuff!
  • pech
Thanks to Sherman Unkefer to share his knowledge and experience with us.
    1. Failure in the past does not determine your future.
    2. Personal Development: Consistency, commitment, keep focus, honesty.
    3. Find leaders.
  • I liked several points in this interview. Present a credible tool and then make the next important step of following up. "Presume they are ready to go". Look for leaders at meetings; the 17% that will work and take it seriously. Meetings make money.
  • gloriavintila
    1. Face to face meetings cannot be replaced by technology. 2. Consistency. 3. Honesty.
  • gabyroa
    1. Choose the right company 2. meetings are the best to prospect 3. never give up and keep it simple!!!
  • gmeyerson
I hear pretty much the same thing over and over again, commitment, consistency and honesty, stay focused and massive action
  • ulla99
Three important things: commitment, focus, consistency (and honesty)
  • margarethockaday
    excellent interview...learn a lot
  • Maxwellhealth
Belly To Belly...Face To Face.....Massive Action....Building Relationships.....These are the fundamentals....The Internet Tools available today can enhance the process but not replace....Sherman is a great example of this as are you Eric and the others who know that "Tribes" is not just a book:-)
  • mrmauriocrawford
    My 3 things....
    1. His story about the struggles...sleeping in airport, etc
    2. Honesty, even when it's embarassing
    3. "People don't like to goto bad meeting, but people LOVE to goto a good meeting."
  • Daniel W. Cook III
    #16
I'm amazed at how many successful people you know in this profession! Not that I didn't believe they existed, I just have never been exposed to them. The encouraging thing is that they all say pretty much the same thing!!! There's no "secrets" to this business. Once you understand the fundamentals it comes down to burning desire, work ethic and consistency. Enjoyed the interview.
  • My three, but the list could go on. Great interview
    1.Consistency
    2. Third Party Tools
    3. Meetings - lots of them
  • clickjt
Honesty, consistent action, it's really a simple business, building relationships and being honest at all times with all people, helping those who are trying to help themselves, using good tools--even if you have to develop them, problems and failures are reasons to grow and become stronger-not quit. Being the right kind of person will attract the right kind of people. Join a company, a management team, a product, and a sponsor that you feel good about.
  • 1. Work hard and consistently and the delayed gratification can be huge
    2. being consistent, honest and above board
    3. utilize the 3rd party tools
  • dterrell
The three things that I like about the Unkefer interview are the following:
    1. How to place a third party tools with the prospect.
    2. Honesty is the best policy.
    3. Be consistent in your business.

    Excellent interview, thanks!
  • Eric, There are so many great points about this interview. If you want the three I took the most from it was these. 1. Be Consistent - 2. Stop using No Friends left as an excuse - 3. The internet is OK Face to Face is Great. Thank you and Sherman for a most excellent week of teaching
  • The 3 things that are the most memorable for me are:

    1. Being consistent with a system and tools
    2. Have meetings and build relationships, start small and you can go big
    3. Spend TIME with the people that are producing
  • Earl
It is interesting that in this "new" business model uses old time business techniques... honesty, face to face meetings, and relationships. Thanks for the reminder of really good old fashion business techniques that keeps people coming back to you! In our business, Technology helps improve already great relationships, not make them.
    Earl
  • bethascoli
Thanks for this great interview, I love getting to watch the uncut versions.

The three most memorable moments for me were:

    1. "The fortune is in the follow-up" - I think that is huge.
    2. How people in Michigan were becoming dependent on him for meetings, and his exposure ratio increased after creating a tool.
    3. Always being honest. It's tempting to try to make your story "prettier" but I think people trust and respect you more when you give them the raw, honest details. And like Sherman said, if you're honest you don't have to have a good memory - funny but true!
  • denagottlieb
    Super, super, super interview.
I picked up more than a couple of nuggets here. It's so fascinating to "meet" real people that have made it in this business. When you look at a guy like Sherman you wonder why network marketing has such a bad name. It drives me crazy that people have such a low opinion of network marketers when so many of the people in MLM are people like yourself, Sherman and so many other honest and impressive people!
I was surprised that he mentioned "honesty" as one of the keys. For me that kind of goes without saying. Why would anybody lie? (maybe I'm being naive here...).
I especially enjoyed him discussing the belly to belly aspect of network marketing especially in this new reality of internet and so many people advocating doing it all online. Heck, even if you capture leads online, you still have to speak with them and present your business to them!

I'd be curious to hear how you, Eric, feel about exposing people to the product first and the business second (once people appreciate the product).

    Thanks for another amazing interview!!!
  • tambry
The three things that stand out are committment - consistency with meetings and followup.
I think we need to reiiterate to people that it's not just in our industry but in other professions 20% do most of the work and those are the ones to emerge as leaders.
  • Edith Kohler
First of all,I think the complete interview is so valuable
Be honest, consistant and learn from everything and everybody
  • Committment-Follow up-Consistency
  • Consistency, meetings, foolow up.
  • fredlund
What a great guy! What an example he has set and one in which we should all aspire too. Too many points to mention but I did like how measured he was in his business. The empirical data, first time I've heard that on networkmarketingpro.com/ Pounding the rock in Charleston SC
  • Cee_G
Hi Eric...Use the tools/person to person/honesty is the best policy/consistency/stay with it. This was a great interview and I hope you have more like this. Thank you!
  • theuns
Thanks Eric for great info for the week i love every one of them .
  • shawncyr
    I have 5 that I like. I couldn't just leave it at 3.
    1. Consistency with the right product/service and system = millionaire achievements.
    2. Face to face meetings are the number one way to build the business because it's about relationships.
    3. Honesty is best policy because it builds your credibility. If people are looking for success answer, use your upline.
    4. Follow up is the key...and the proof is in the pudding.
    5. Hang in there guys and gals. Your dreams are worth it and it will provide you with an incredible story as you go from where you are to where you want to be.
  • kamalharris
I love the comment about the moderate to high success rates of people who have been distributing tools and what the difference is. Credibility being the first thing. Huge!! That was also enlightening when he gave the example of what he says when distributing the tool. I've heard you say it in the past in previous episodes and this just confirms it. A conversation MUST be had initially. You can't hide behind email links and all other types of technology that (ineffectively) replace a conversation. And again, it goes back to the credibility or the person giving it out and the level of respect the person receiving it has for that person. I say let's get a lot of tools out there because "you can make up in numbers what you lack in skills". Right?
  • kristibateman
    Thanks Eric
  • JenniferDu79
    Top three for me.
    1. Don't fake it till you make it be honest.
    2. Belly to belly company - people will do business / join people they know, like, and trust.
    3. It's all about the meetings. This is where you will make your fortune. But that doesn't mean waiting for a large meting to get people involved. A meeting can also be 3 people sitting at the table to get you to the huge meetings.
  • happyhealthybob
My top three would have to be This is a belly to belly company. Not putting your website on your business card and lastly helping getting tools into peoples hands. Those are the ones that really stayed with me. Thanks for the oppturnity for us to get this information.
  • daddykekere
    Honesty no faking

3 things that stand out for me
    Meetings make money
    Its about buildings relationships
You have to do the numbers
  • dlinkhart
    This is what I got from this;
    Consistency and persistence
Meetings, whether in a group or one on one
Some excellent way to communicate and promote the business and the product
  • yuvalcohen
    Hey Eric
Fascinating interview. Hear a second time, sharpen your insights.
3 things I take from the interview are:
1.Center Line - simple operations over time, presentations, presentations, and more time presentations.
    2.Business deals with communication.
3.Anyone can succeed, it is important to be attentive to the issue of timing candidates.
Find people looking for a change
  • orlyalbo
All Sherman say is the CenterLine of MLM. Thank you.
  • What a great interview and information that was shared with us all.
The three things I have gotten as a reenforcement for me is:
    1. Be honest and yourself.
    2. Be committed to why you are in this business (i.e. be professional)
    3. Be consistent in what you do.
Thanks again Eric for bring such great value to us all.
    God Bless,
    -ed
  • Sherm is the man. thank you sherm and eric
    I always follow this motto:
some will, some won't, so what, who's next.
  • Gakungu
This has been the best interview ever and I have really enjoyed it. Thank you, Eric and Sherman.
  • There is som much great info on this, but I find some words that I focus on:
    1. be committed
    2. be honest
    3. be consistent
If you take responsibility for your personal development and you cant fail, you will find people, that wants to follow you...
  • hlj521
I love being reminded that even in this day and age of technology and all that is available that it is still about building living breathing relationships and even though technology has its place, we need to be building relationships with people. We need to not hide behind it but use it when it is beneficial.

Thank you Eric! This was a great interview
  • andreabyrge
    1. Be honest; not fake it til you make it.
    2. Belly to belly, not technology.
    3. Consistent, LONG term action.
  • coltsco
Things that were memorable to me was his failure followed by extreme success, his belief in this business model and his undeterred determination.
  • jlconner
We keep being reminded by everyone in the business to be consistent. Bad meetings are not good. We need great events. Thanks for the great interview.
  • Top ideas from Sherman’s uncut interview:

    * CONSISTENCY
    * People don’t like to go to bad meetings, but they love to go to great meetings.
    * It’s not just about people you know, but people who they know, and people who they know, and so on.
    * Personal contact trumps contact by computer.
    * Get a listen/watch commitment out of a prospect prior to giving them a tool.
    * Stress urgency.
    * NM is not a convincing business; it’s a sorting business - seeking leaders.
    * 17% of his enrollees are “workers”. That approximates the 80/20 rule: 20% of your people will produce 80% of your income; 80% of your people will produce 20% of your income.
    * Failures along the way just become a part of your NM story.

Sign inside a Bowling Alley: "Please be quiet. We need to hear a pin drop."
  • It continues to impress me how the fundamentals for success, outlined in this and other interviews that Eric has provided to all of us are so consistent and wide spread over the diverse collection of different products, services, and technologies each of us are engaged in.
Consistency. Choosing a good organization. Commitment to excellence. Meeting with people as often as possible. Honesty and Integrity in everything you do. The incorporation of metrics to understand your business combined with the philosophy of expecting that good things will come to you if you do not compromise your values, is a solid combination for long term success. Staying aligned with your internal moral compass, combined with the ability to identify missteps and make adjustments along the way, will get you to your goal.
While it is nice to have some “Luck” in our lives, with these values entrenched in our day to day pattern of behavior, you create your own luck. When we are consistently finding that we are in the right place at the right time with the right prospect it is likely due to the fact that we created this opportunity and can now capitalize on it and begin to reap the rewards of our own initiative. Thanks to Stewart Unkefer and Eric for reviewing these important life principals
  • peterragg
Sherman is a great guy, you know it immediatly, he has a great smile, very believable (know, like and trust).

Never lost his belief in NM as a business opportunity, (whilst others wavered), even when his first three companies went down.

Goes to his warm market, (lists) he gets in front of people - "belly to belly, face to face business" (its a relationship business, we should all know this).

17% of his people take the business seriously, (he knows exactly).

Internet marketing will not get you to where you want to be. (Sherman is definitely slightly old school but I totally agree with him on this, social networking sites are very important and we have to use them but in this business you will only be really successful if you get in front of people.

    Use the tools

Show people your back office, be proud of it.

Thank you Sherman for giving us your candid insight. One of your best interviews Eric
    Kind regards

I AM ALREADY 2 YEARS IN THE BUSINESS, WITH A VERY GREAT COMPANY, YET I CANNOT SHARE MY BACKOFFICE WITH ANYBODY. I LISTENT AGAIN TO THE CMPLETE & UNCUT INTERVIEW AND THAT'S WHAT I TOOK FOR MYSELF:
"IT'S NOT HARD, IT'S JUST A MATTER OF BEING COMMITED AND CONSISTENT!"
"YOU NEED TO BUILT YOUR BUSINESS CONSISTENTLY ENOUGH THAT YOU WILL BE PROUD TO SHARE YOUR BACKOFFICE WITH SOMEONE"
THANK YOU MR. SHERMAN FOR YOUR HONESTY AND KINDNESS, FOR YOUR ACURATE AND EMPOWERING SESSION.
DEAR ERIC, MY SPECIAL THANKS TO YOU FOR YOUR AMAZING PROJECT, FOR GIVING ME THE OPPORTUNINY TO LEARN FROM GREAT LEADERS IN THIS INDUSTRY, FOR SHARING WITH ME THE WAY TO BE A NMPRO!!!
  • Dee_Canada
Hi Talya-Oh Yes...the back office!! That is a HUGE point!! Don't we all dream of THAT day when we can show ours?? It's like standing naked in forn of a crowd of strangers...THERE IT IS...JUDGE FOR YOURSELF!! Now THAT'S a challenge to rise to isn't it?? :0)
  • Agneta Rebo
Three things: Relationship business, Everyone loves to come to great meetings, Looking for leaders.
  • Bea Resnick
Three things I intend to keep from this interview: 1) It's not a straight shot to the top. 2) People hate bad meetings, but they love to go to great meetings. 3) Use the tools, and use them consistently.
Thanks for another inspiring interview! I appreciate you!

Hi Eric, I think you picked another great one when you found Sherman I will be short by saying another chapter done well but it time to hit the notes. I have to because I find my self putting what I am learning still in my words not the words as I am hearing it from "THE PROS' AND I KNOW I CAN'T MAKE THE TABLE STAND ON TWO LEGS" Thank you once again

  • carolmcwilliams
The 3 gems I got out of this uncut version.
    1. Consistency- this is a people business therefore build the business with connections and as much face to face meetings whether it be with one or two people or bigger meetings to feed into.
    2. There is tremendous value in using 3rd party tools - to help with leverage, credibility and a message from someone that will create a feeling of inspiration.
    3. This is a sorting business and that we need to be looking for potential leaders. The ones that show interest, have a spark and show commitment.
I loved this interview and will take the many points of wisdom and integrate it into what actions I take each day. I appreciated having the veil lifted to see how someone with his caliber of success built his business. This is tremendously valuable, as I can take his wisdom and philosophy and use it as guiding posts along my way.
  • Dee_Canada
Hi Eric. Once again. the full meal deal, whole interview is the cherry on the sundae for me!! I am consistently impressed by the genuineness (is that real word??LOL) of the people that you interview. Sherm is a delight to listen to and a wealth of useful and inspiring information.

3 things that struck me are: 1-His defining moment was not a revelation or high point, but what most would consider a failure...a declined credit card in front of a propspect!! He is clearly a true leader because he saw it not as a disaster to shrink from, but simply an item to be "dealt with". How powerful is THAT...and how HUMBLING?? For those of us who find any excuse to not give it our all on a daily basis...I would hold this example as how a LEADER reacts!!
2-The survey!!!! Click in...click out....People join and stay because of YOU. It's a people business...face-to face, belly-to-belly. I LOVE to hear that because at times I feel like some folks think that "anonymous" online thing is the only way. It holds no fascination for me. It`s an easy-come easy-go reality. Now I realize that I can be ME...passionate about the PEOPLE I can bring to this business...face to face!!
3-17% of those he sponsored are serious. I'm a numbers person in many respects. I like to have some empirical data to quote...some one's experience to draw from when talking to people who want numbers. Everyone knows the 80/20 rule.....this just states it in a different way.
So much more came from this interview...Let me add #4 because it is such a great tip. Look for the people who come early, stay late and come with questions. those are you future leaders!!! GREAT stuff!!! Thanks so much!!!
  • karenandian
You summed up the interview in a great way. We also like that the declined credit card was not seen as failure, his handling of that moment was a true leaders - deal with it, move forward. The clue - look for people who come early, stay late, and ask questions is a great tip.
  • talya_mitzafon
I AGREE WITH YOU THAT SHERMAN'S DEFINIG MOMENT IS AN IMPORTENT EXAMPLE AS HOW LEADERS REACT!!!
ALSO, IT'S IMPORTENT FOR ME TO KEEP THIS BUSINESS AS A BUSINESS OF FACE-TO-FACE RELATIONSHIPS.
  • Hai
3 things for me.. 1) be honest 2) be real 3) it's a people business! Simple but not easy. There is a saying, life is simple until you have to deal with the "people" in it- ha. so true! Have a great weekend everyone!
  • Tarashon Broomes
great interview, with consistency you can accomplish a lot of things. network marketing is a relationship business
  • Darnell
My most three memorables: 1- Having the prospect to commit. 2- Sherman recruits his members face to face versus social media mediums. 3- Generating a million dollar annual income will take time even a few years and not right away. *Extra*- Personal development on a constant basis throughout one's life.
Thank you both for this interview!! Looking 4ward to the next video!! :)
  • garyparmenter
Networking is best, face to face. Have great meetings, doesn't matter what size or place. Just do it! Use third party tools wisely. Honesty pays! Be consistant! Thanks Eric and Sherman
  • rmonte
An incredible success story. I love to hear these stories. Persistence and commitment overcome everything. I truly appreciate you bringing this to us Eric. Thank you!

  • Sponsoring 100 people is my goal now! Then I'll have a good number of serious business builders in my team. This is actually encouraging. I have a long way to go but now I know what to expect. So... Thank you so much for the great show!
  • Jose Lopez
WOW! Great material. Three main ideas. 1-If they can join with a click, they can quit with a click. 2. Consistency 3. People might not like bad meeting, but they love good meetings. Bonus. No. 4. Be honest all the time. Don't need to have a good memory. Again, thanks Mr. Unkefer and Mr. Worre for sharing it.
  • 1) The fact that he went from tying knots in a string of failure to the pinnacle of success - inspiring!
    2) Never let temporary setbacks/failures (the credit card story) keep you from moving forward.
    3) Just keep placing effective tools/exposing the opportunity over and over and duplicating this throughout your group to create leverage and success.

    Best,
    Scott
  • dougharkins
Consistency, meetings, tools, face to face, honesty, never give up. Thanks Eric and Sherman.
  • People may not like to go to bad meetings but they love to go to great meetings. This is a belly to belly business all about building relationships.

Love the story about how his friends would not join him again after previous mlm failures and yet look what he accomplished this time around; even starting in that same warm market. Love the story about taking a survey of members at convention. That proves what this business is really all about.

Using the 3rd party tool was responsible for his explosive growth. More proof that it’s all about 3rd party, and not being “Superman”. I also like the idea of getting your tool back from a prospect who doesn’t want to get started… I “threw away” a lot of money worth of 3rd party tools by not getting them back. Plus it could give the prospect more urgency to check it out before you take it back.

About the part about sorting through people looking for leaders, I don’t know that I agree 100% with what he says here as I believe leaders are created, not necessarily “born”. I believe anyone (who commits to do so) can develop the skills to become a leader. I like the whole “we’re looking for people who are looking” attitude; I do agree it’s all about exposing and sorting.

Much love and appreciation to Mr. Unkefer for taking the time to share his experience and adding so much value to the NMPro community.
  • highimpact0406
Loved the fact that he stayed true to his belief that belly to belly or face to face still works, I am going to follow that plan for sure. Also, that he reiterated the consistency issue and being honest. Really key points and I appreciate the entire interview. Thank you Sherman and Eric!

  • Defining moments, using simple duplicatable tools, and most of all have consistency in your business. What strikes me most is that all of the people you have on have some very similar traits. This business takes lots of hard work. If you can stay focused without being distracted, you can achieve your goals.
  • carybennett
Belly to belly , cosistant , using simple tools. more proof old school still works best in this industry..
    Thanks Eric
  • latachia_2
1.Consistancy through the passage of time.Building relationships belly to belly.Sifting&sorting until you find leaders.Leaders are found, not made.Only respond to potential leaders. They are the ones that will come 10 minutes early, ask a lot of questions& stay late.recognize impeccible data.Show the accumultitive effect. You may have to sponsor 100 to get 10 really good ones2..Develop your skills.3. You will have to work through adversity
    And be honest.

    1. 18 years of grinding 2. Glad he did 3. Fortune is in the follow up.... Great Legacy Sherman!

Loved the interview - no fuss just plain home truths. Consistency; belly to belly meetings to create relationships, honesty being the best policy and overcoming adversity
  • tyroneholmes
    1. Consistency
    2. Meetings work because it build relationships, people join people.

Consistency, over coming set backs, honesty
  • Keep track of the empirical data.
People love to go to great meetings.
    Consistency.
  • The most memorable things about Mr. Unkefer interview:
    - the importance of metings, both small and big
    - commitment
    - consistency and focus

    Thank you for sharing.
  • georgeman
Wonderful, the three things I got out of it in order of importance to me is....... The 80/20 rule, work with consistency, and book the living crap out of your calender. Also, incredible things can happen in just three years, honesty is the best policy, and your warm market is a great beginning (or any other time). Loved it, Eric, you are the Man!
  • Nancy
    1 Consistency
    2 meetings - building relationships
3 not who you know, who they know

and I will add a fourth - it does not pay to beg or coerce.
  • hpena
Great interview. Many wonderful lessons here. While I agree to go chase the business and to hustle and work hard, I find that 1 on 1's can lead to a break down in duplication. If that 1 on 1 is for presenting the business for the first time, a tool should do the job, not the person. If that 1 on 1 is a 2nd or 3rd exposure, then it's more of a conversation than a presentation and that's fine. In my personal experience, the better I showed the presentation the more dependent my organization was on me to show the plan. That's why the Magic Wand tool that Sherman speaks about is such an important tool.

    The 3 moments for me:
    1. Sleeping in the airport (done that)
    2. Showing the business to the 1 rep in the room (done that too)
    3. Coming back from 3 failed companies (don't even get me started)...

And overcoming all these setbacks with professionalism and transparency, such an inspiration!

Consistency and focus seem to be the main issues Great interview
  • Episode 16 of Eric Worre's Throw Down Challenge:

Such a great interview between 2 people that are humble, live with integrity and personify what is possible when a person works to become a Network Marketing Professional.

QOTD: 1. Follow through not matter what 2. Face to face Rules 2. ALWAYS BE HONEST....

There could be about 20-30 others but I'm trying to keep to the requested quanity of responses -FOR ONCE... Again Great interview
  • janetrajala
Sherman emphasizes: a good company a must; consistency a must; & honesty a must. He also points out the importance of face to face meetings & relationship building. It was a great, fascinating interview--again.
  • Eileen
It was even better the second time. He's great! Thank you.
  • Steve_Nelson
    1. honesty

  • quintaser
    1. the simple kind of human being of Eric and Mr. sherman, even though the level of income.
    2. the simple rules that we must follow
    3. the honest answers of Mr. Sherman

Those are I think three things I can say about the posts of this week

From Puebla Mexico, I am Sergio Quintana
  • rayrios
Too many to count, however, the sleeping at the airport, the credit card bouncing and the No-Shows, are the highlights; since it tells me we are on the right track.

One thing, It doesn't matter which company as long as its viable and the right vehicle, one must have the right personal development.

    Thanks

    1.Consistency in your activity
    2.Meetings
    3.Getting focused
    4.Commitment
    5.3d party tools
    6.Exposure, exposure, exposure
Thank you for the GREAT interview!
  • karenandian
Thank you for a wonderful interview. 3 things that was most memorable
    1. Meetings - This is a relationship business
    2. Be honest, make a commitment, be consistent in your action.
    3. Use your tools.
We like it that he doesn't list his website on the business cards - if they want more information - they have to contact him.
    Karen & Ian
  • 1. Sherman's humility and humanity
    2. Eric asks GREAT introspective, thought provoking questions
    3. Gives me hope
  • Tony Murray
Sherman's data on his business is great. He tracks it like any businessman would. Great stuff.
  • Tina
Great ..I will want to hear it again. So much information out there but this has been great...stop and focus on those FEW things that work..tools, stay in there and becoming a wise recruiter. Good.
  • Loved the Sherman interviews - I think this is one I'll watch over and over. Looking forward to receiving a load of new 3rd party tools which are just becoming available in my market. Big event tomorrow too so early(ish) night ahead of the 3hr 40 journey - each way.
  • julie67
Tools work, Stay active, and Look for Leaders. Great advice from successful businessmen! Thanks Eric. Try not to get eaten by a Great White. :)
  • 1 - Consistency
2 - The cummulative effect of every day actions, the duplication factor of the tools (100.000 DVDs circulating)
    3 - S%&#$% happens along the way

This interview was amazing and inspiring. Thanks folks.

    NOTES:

Management mode and not realize the potential...

    Consistency (200 meetings/year)
consistency over a certain period of time will create the result
people love to go to great meetings

    Method of operation
    - warm market is the backbone of the industry (the survey and the get rich mentality as soon as one gets in instead of professionalism)
    - small meetings over the coffee table and then to small hotel meetings (you get to big meetings by doing a lot of small meetings)
    - meetings between meetings
    - for the part-time person plug into the full time person meeting
    - reputation and style then
    - the tools exploded the business

The difference between 10% and 70% ratio
credibility of the person placing the tool
    how they place it
    how they follow up
"this can be the most important financial tool you ever saw"

Learn how to tell your story and get in front of more people

Sort through people looking for leaders - being commited and consistent - 20% of the people will make 80% of the money.
It doesn't pay to plea, beg or cheat people.

Recognize the empirical data - every meeting is worth 50k - the cummulative effect of every meeting will pay me 50k over some time. 80/20 rule.

To experience a breakthrough in the next year:

Forget about fake it till you make it! Honesty is the best policy.
Build it consitently enough that you are proud to show your backoffice
Make a commitment to get started and be consistent in the activity, day in day out
  • latachia_2
    That's a great summery!
  • Denise Cox
God I love this guy! He's so flipping honest and transparent!

I always listen for what you edited out during the week because there's always a nugget in there somewhere. FOr me, it was when he talked about the # of people sponsored, how many serious , how many legs and what percent of the recruits it was. LOVE this man, LOVED the interview. Thank you!
  • georgeman
    Great reply, I agree 100%!
  • jean_albert
Excellent - Sherman has a soft tone to his voice. Doesn't sound like he's selling, just sharing with a friend.
  • I loved this interview. It is great to see how much chivalry and honor is envolved in our profession, and something more sutile, that no matter which company you are in, how old are you, how much time have you spent on network marketing, or whatever other reason... ALL THE TOP INCOME EARNERS, ARE DOING JUST THE SAME!!!!

Be consistent, Doing a few simple things over a consistent period of time and be able to make others do the same! should´t that say something? I think it does!

Thank you Erick and Sherman, you are a true example for me!
  • Arnold Thompson
Great interview, a lot of powerful info. Thanks

    I really enjoyed this interview.
I love the honesty and kindness of Mr. Unkefer.
All this testimonials are the living proof of what we have, it's just matter of consistency, keep burning desire and don't let anybody steal your dream.
    Thank you Mr. Worre.
  • 1) Honesty and Integrity 2) Consistancy 3) Fortune is in the Follow-Up
  • Once again Eric and Sherman, thanks so much for an awesome interview!!
  • drkay
Sorting through people looking for Leaders; Don't plead, beg, coerce: Persistence is key. I've heard it hundreds of times but it still will preach!
    Signs of leadership include those who come early, stay late, ask questions;
Every meeting is worth $50,000. If this one thing was consistently applied, it would change my attitude toward not just doing meetings, but also making calls, asking for the close, any of the essentials in this business... or life, for that matter. It IS worth that much to someone.
  • 1) Honesty
    2) Meetings
    3) Consistency

    Great interview Eric & Sherman!
  • I love this guy. What a great interview.

    consistency

  • You guys have a great chemistry together. Also, i appreciate you fixing the audio as compared to last week's interview. Thanks again - BillyG
  • This amazing interview proofs again the stupidity of "MLM Internet Morons" who keep believing they will build a $100,000 a month business by hiding behind their laptop and palying awful recordings of themselves on Youtube without providing any value whatsoever...

It is also one of the first trainings I tell to my new teammembers: "If you can hand a CD/DVD to someone and get them to listen then ANYONE can do this business." The most important is the how of doing this which Eric and Sherman have pointed out here again!

Handing a tool is REALLY the ONLY productive thing a beginning NMpro should do in order to get his organisation rolling:

Deliver the tool >> Follow up by getting back to them >> If they want to start : congratulations and help them place their first order >> If they don't then move on ... >> If they want more information then hand them a second tool delivering that information or point them to a leader >> ALWAYS book a meeting so you can at the end book the next one ...

This is one of the best interviews I have ever listened to and it should be MANDATORY for everyone starting an MLM career...

Internet morons? wow. Let's look what Eric is doing here with Networkmarketingpro.com - He's on the internet. This is how you do network marketing on the internet. Build value. Teach. Then people will come to you. Value as you said is the key whether it's delivered online or off.

The truth is there is no difference between offline and online marketing.
  • For me the most memorable things were that meetings can be small - 2 or 3 people - but that it could result in BIG money. Another golden nugget was that "People don't like to go to bad meetings, but love to go to Great meetings". The third was that Leaders are found not made. I like that. I will quit trying to make leaders and just start looking for leaders. Thank you!
  • lauralopez
I had a lot of things memorable in this interview
    1.- Honesty
    2.- Consistency. Don`t give up
    3.- 2 per day
    4.- Meetings
    5.- Repetition

    3. Make a decision and commitment
    * Take consistent action
    *Work in your backyard

This was a great interview. Thank you for taking the time to share these success strategies with us. True Eric, there are no accidents. The individuals that make it to the top follow proven systems and work consistently. Thank you Sherman for reminding us that recruiting is one-on-one, building relationships and working with people who are motivated. By using company tools and following the system, a new person can have success early. Why re-invent the wheel? If we want to make money, 2 per day over a sustained period of time. In other words, if you want to be successful, do what successful people do.
  • bartar20
My takeaways - be consistent, don't let the failures of one or two days derail you as it is what you do over the long haul that defines you. Meetings, Meetings, Meetings!!! Work with your people no matter how deep down they are in your organization as you never know where the next leader will come from. Awesome interview, thank you Sherman and Eric!

I forgot to post the three most memorable:
    1. Be honest in your business
    2. Meetings are an important and one of (if not the) greatest way to build you business
    3. Warm market is the way to build your business
  • jayvannostrand
    full interview was great!
need to stay consistent, talk to people (lots of them) on a daily basis, and use your tools to do so
  • Kjell Englund
    1. Meeting face to face and two a day
    2. Be honest
    3. Be proud to share your backoffice with anyone
  • Lisette
    Honesty, consistensy, talk to people
  • cherisizzles
I liked the part Sherman said about his own embarrassing experiences with his credit cards when he was just starting out. I have a lot of people who ask me right off the bat how much money I'm making per month, which is really hard when I've only been in the business a few months! I just try to relay my belief in the products and the company, and try to let that be enough. Thanks Sherman, for letting us know you're human! :)
  • patrickmcfeely
Thank you both, the uncut was great .1Use your tools 2 take action ever day 3work with your people who want your help.
Thank you for your time Eric
  • kgoren
    1. Honesty
    2. Leaders are found, not made
    3. No pleading, begging or coercing
Lots of other great points, but for me these are the most memorable. Thanks for a great interview.
  • AMAZING INTERVIEW !
  • MarvinTowler
    1. "The biggest thing I do Eric, is I am consistent."

    2. "People may not like to go to bad meetings, they love to go to good meetings. This is a belly to belly face to face business."

    3. "The backbone of this industry whether people want to admit it or not is warm market"

    4. "It does not pay to plead, beg, or coerce people."

I am listing 4 memorable things, however it could have easily been more. Thanks again for providing valuable content.
  • carolbarrett
Thanks again Eric and Sherman. It was even more terrific uncut.
  • Sherman is very humble and a professional asset to the business.
    1. Integrity
    2. Consistency
    3. 2X day
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, ideas and experience.
  • 1. Meetings make money.
    2. Consistency.
    3. Personal development.
Thank you Mr. Sherman Unkefer for good advices.
  • Bjorgli
Thank you Eric for bringing Sherman in your fantastic videos you share with us all around the world. Shermans voice must convince the people he meet.
It's difficult to find only 3 things, but I'll make a try.
I like the honesty, finding a good company and talking to people (small groups growing big). Oh, not to forget the stories. I think they are very important ---- and the technology.
    Thanks for your daily input.
  • Daniel Glez.Peña
    Wow, Hi Eric.
    1.-Consistency.
    2.-Use tools and 2 a day as a discipline.
    3.-Personal Development.
    Saludos.
    Daniel y Natali.Qro.
  • 1. Where Sherman came from!
    2. How to place a tool!
    3. Defining moments!

    Thanks for this!
  • quincy
I love the uncut versions of the interviews. The raw information not originally included is equally valuable as the first four episodes combined.

    1. Be consistent in activity.
    2. Use your company tools.
    3. Putting in the massive numbers to get the few serious leaders.

Eric, thank you. Your videos give me SO MUCH knowledge on the industry and in becoming a professional. I greatly appreciate it. Keep'em comin.
  • I agree! The raw information is really valuable.
  • I thought this interview was great. All of the great information that was shared come right back to the things that Dan Catto said in his interview. Dan called it the basics. Sherman broke down his basics for us.

    1. Be persistent in your efforts, always be sharing the opportunity,
    2. If you want to make money, then work hard through the good times and the bad.
    3. Get face to face with people. This is a relationship building business.
  • turjcxg
Eric, thank you, thank you and thank you again!

here are the 3 things I like about this video:

    1) You and Sherm offer practical, applicable steps with metrics that are easy to understand and that I can actually implement daily. I mean I can literally write these tasks/metrics into my planner and have a target to aim at and a way to check my progress throughout my day.

For example, both you and Sherm say work "consistently." Well, what does "consistently" mean?

==> 2 new prospects a day is easy to understand in the context of consistency.
==> Sherm did 200 meetings in a year. Okay, realistically, I don't know if I can pull that off but now I have a number that I can sit down and look at in the context of my life and say will 200 work for me, if not, what number will work for me and let me break it down into my year long calendar, plug those metrics in as a goal for myself and now I have something to hold onto (a measurement so that I know how I'm doing because I'm not really sure).

    2) The honesty and validation that both you and Sherm offer when recalling experiences in your NM past. This honesty sooooo validates my experiences. When I hear your experiences (you and Sherm) I don't feel so alone anymore because this profession can be lonely because it's not like we show up to an office and have the companionship of people to commiserate with. I've had some embarrassing experiences too and now, at least I don't feel like such a zero!

I especially appreciate hearing how Sherman holds so many small meetings. Yes, I want to build up to large meetings but at least I know I'm moving in the right direction. Now I just need to speed it up.

    3) THIS IS WHAT I ESPECIALLY LIKE ABOUT THIS VIDEO: Sherm gave out a metric when he said that he worked the business full time so he did about 4 to 5 meetings a day. So far, I've only heard about how part-timers should start in this business and the metrics that apply to them.

****I haven't heard anything about how full-time new people should go about building their businesses if they are full time.

I'm in a situation where I'm unemployed and the mother of 2 little kids in school full time. I have not been able to find a job because they don't like the hours that I am able to work (because of child care constraints). So I decided that I might as well work my network marketing business full time.

The "4 to 5 meetings per day" number that Sherman provided is helpful because I have something to aim at. I don't know if I can achieve it but at least I have a target to aim for.

If you have any other metrics or tips on how a full time person should structure their day when they start building their network marketing business, PLEASE tell me!
  • BetterCoffee.dk
I sat up at these 3 points in the interview.
    1. Sherman's story about holding a meeting with only his wife in attendance. That's good practice and it also teaches you persistance. Michael Clouse talks about how to keep repeating the things you need to do until they become a habit which is easier to do than not to do. This example is one step in that process.
    2. Sharing back office info. No-one in my upline has ever done that. In fact they don't even like to tell people what figures they are doing. I think there's a philosophy behind it, but persoanlly I agree more with Sherman on that topic.
    3. Once again I draw power from your stories of hardship. Makes me realise how easy I have it, even when I feel it's up-hill. Also makes me ashamed of the fact that I don't take enough advantage of the favorable situation I have.

I NEED TO STEP IT UP!!!!
  • denagottlieb
I didn't get that part about giving a presentation to only his wife.
Why in the world go ahead with the presentation if there were NO guests? That teaches persistence???
  • BetterCoffee.dk
As I write in the above, Michael Clouse talks about repeating your required actions until they become habits. Habits are easier to do than not to do. So program yourself with the activities you need to be doing. That's why I think it's powerful that Sherman went ahead with a meeting even though nobody showed up. Only his wife was there.
  • maariee
Consistancy, use tools and the importance of the warm market and also honesty. Great intervue. Thank you both Eric and Sherman.
  • HoracioMejia
    1. Honesty
    2. Self Confidence and focus. Unpleasant things will happen.
    3. Expose the opportunity EVERY DAY.
    4. Meetings, meetings, meetings. From one on ones to hundreds.
    5. Use the Tools provided by your company.

    Still spinning inside my head:
    1. Use of technology in the exposition of the opportunity to new prospects.
    2. Balance between width and depth
  • The three things most memorable about this interview are: Honesty, Belief and Committment.
Honesty with myself, with those that I meet, about the great company with great products and services.
Belief in the NWM profession, the system, the tools, training, that "you" can do it and in myself.
Committment to go out, give exposure, edify, tell the story, sort for leaders, duplicate consistent positive actions, follow through and, most importantly, relate with people.

  • PaulineP
    All good stuff.
  • luciabrazell
It's true stay consistent and it will all fall in place that's what I think so that is all i got oh and work on yourself and those you sponsor, meetings=$$$
  • ybimbalanced
Integrity, persaveriance and the importance of in person meetings. Great things to duplicate! Thanks for another great interview.
  • mariasiro
Wow it was the best interwiev! Tank you Eric and Sherman!!
  • ritafulton
    Good Day Eric,

Sherman has such a pleasant down to earth "let's do this thing" but do it in the simplistic manner so that everyone can do the same thing..honesty not "fake til you make it" important as well..and the all time ''Consistency" I know that is my area to work on for 2010 for sure!! Thanks again have an awesome weekend!!
  • 3 most memorable points are:

His honesty and courageousness when faced with diveristy...at the airport
He mentioned his wife passing and he got right back to work after a brief period...character and determination
His positive attitude throughout the interview..passion

    Have a good weekend!
  • Watching the whole thing really brings the simplicity into context.

I've already shared this simple (not easy :) ) wisdom with a few "Coaches", "Mentors", and "Internet Marketing Experts". In a goodhearted manner, of course.
  • gillym1
I think the 3 most memorable points are:

You can't beat personal relationships as a way of growing a solid business
Even if your meeting room is empty - carry on (and plan the next one while you're there!)
Take full advantage of all the internet and technology tools that are available

Thank you for your incisive thoughts!
  • jpmendoza
The 3 memorable things were, 1) even after 3 failed business, he still pressed on. 2) consistancy, go out every day & tell your story. 3) many small meeting will eventually lead to large meetings.
  • chriskemp817
    Top 3 things:

    (1) Find a good reputable company
    (2) Become Committed
    (3) Numbers, numbers, numbers
  • chipc
    1. Find a good solid company. 2. Be consistent and persistent. 3. Use tools. 4. sift and sort to find leaders. 5. Meetings, meetings, meetings.
  • Old school works too....
  • What's most obvious from all of the 'million dollar' interviews is that consistency is the key.
    3 Memorable Things...
    1. Consistency
    2. Challenges are the things that will make you smile, eventually.
    3. More Meetings Means More Money!
  • bartonmurray
sometimes the truth is not what we want to hear, sometimes the truth is exactly what we need to hear...lol

  • miguel
The warm market, the use of the tools, and being honest with your team.... :)
  • As a small business owner who always managed it from behind the curtains, I find it hard to step up and be in the forefront. I love the opportunity to change habits and I want to be successful at this new endeavor. My wish is to be a NM Pro, no matter how long it takes. I am amazed at all the wonderfull people I am getting to meet. Thanks a lot!

Exposure of the products first, exposure to the business, follow ups and consistency. Also, the human connection or becoming a people person.
  • barryburgin77
Consistency, building relationships, and Leadership within the company. 3 important issues, each with its own area of interest. Being a rookie in NM, I am working on these issues (and more) within my own company. And I have found that meeting the owners of the company made a huge impact on me in my decision to work with this company. That meeting was a game changer.

Leaders are found not made. Potential leaaders will identify themselves by coming early, staying late, they call with questions and they ask for help. This is a profession that we have to work and develop our skills. We have to work harder on ourselves than anything esle and we have to be willing to pay the price to achieve the income of our dreams. To achieve a breakthrough in our business we have to be honest and build our business consistent enough that we are proud to share our back office with anyone.
  • Bryan_in_KC
There is wisdom in this interview. It is clear that Sherman refined his skills by removing techniques that did not work. What is left are professional network marketing techniques that have stood the test of time and work when used properly.
  • JudasPierce
the complete interviews are the best ones to post....i love watching them.
  • I loved how he told the story of when he had a new distributor with him, and was trying to rent a car at the airport and the credit card was declined.

His belief in always telling the truth, and not doing the 'fake it until you make it' approach is more of what we need today in this profession.

Great interview! I honestly had never heard of Sherman before and I truly appreciate his taking the time to do this for us.

    Thank you!
  • quincy
I agree with you Patty. People can tell when you're lieing. You get much better results being completely truthful, transparent and genuine. That way people dont think its all for show but REAL.
  • I can identify with your comments. I felt the same way. I had never heard of him until I googled him. I found a website that talked about the passing of his wife recently and have a admiration for him to get back in the game. His honesty is his attracting force.
  • Great stuff. A good reminder to keep it simple and to be consistent. Keep it real.
  • Sherman, Sherman, Sherman! Great interview! / Linda, Sweden
  • A remarkable interview. This validated all the other interviews and provided a different cut on many of the 'clues' to success. Sherman states a number of times and a number of ways that you have to be yourself first and always. His work ethic places him in the upper portions of the top 1%. How many people are willing to fly across the country on hope their credit card will work when they get there?

His numbers are consistent with other numbers I have heard and from my own experience. Of the 95 he sponsored I wonder if those are the ones that didn't quit the first 3 months or does it? The business has a quality of sorting through a deck of cards. 70% of the deck is 2 thru 10 while the remaining 30% are Ace, King, Queen and Jack. If you get good on the first pass you can eliminate most of the 70% and begin building relationships with the 30%. The six degrees of separation theory research suggests that 70% are not participating while 30% of us are inside the six degrees. That supports Sherman's view about finding people and the value he places on personal development.

In my experience when looking for those who are willing, able and ready about 30% will qualify on the first pass and of those one in six makes it work on their first attempt. There is something interesting about humans though. We are not cards in a deck. I have met people who were definitely a 7 of hearts on the first pass. When I revisited them some time later they were suddenly an ace of diamonds.

While I understand that not everyone is willing, able and ready today I still want to believe it is possible for everyone to attain their highest level of achievement and with different circumstances and a little time everyone can make it. I know it is possible to turn the Sahara into something close to the Amazon. What may be the most interesting part to this interview was seeing how fast Sherman moved on in the sorting process looking for leaders. I have pruned my list the last two years. Maybe I have been too nice and need to prune quicker and deeper. I really like it when the 2 of clubs goes Ace of Spades however.
  • mspaulamc
Championing people is an incredible and honorable profession - keep up the good work - you do make a difference.
  • quincy
Michael thanks for the breakdown of Shermans numbers in comparison to a deck of cards. I've always heard that this business is a numbers game and to go through it like a deck of cards as fast as possible looking for the Aces. But I do agree in sometimes you will get one out of the 70% that over time will evolve and move to the 30%. Like you put it, "the 2 of clubs goes Ace of Spades " or like Sherman described when talking about the guy from Malayasia/Portugal.
  • denisekay
Main points in this interview: Exposure and Relationships
Like Sherman Unkefer have faith in yourself, your product and the public.
Develop your skills - have a course of action - be willing to pay the price - explode your business.
    Go Baby go.
  • kayanita
This has been one of the best, very simple useful stuff we can all blend into our biz and a reminder of the tools to use that our company has and I had not been using. thought....generally their comapny had not been mentioned.....
  • This is one interview I need to come back to time and again.
I'll be passing this on to my downline.

    Fantastic Interview!
There is so much here to learn from a
very special down to earth Sherman.
  • Donna Wheaton
    Happy Friday!

Thank you so much again for the profound information on our wonderful industry. There was so much that I got form this interview still the best was is still meetings. Technology is great, but building a relationship by far has to be done. Dont worry about the mistakes just learn from them, and using the tools 2-a day and let them know the importance/urgency of that tool. Follow up, follow up, follow up.
  • Consistency over time, build relationships, and pick the right company are all key to success.

Honesty and integrity are important and those are things that Sherman portrayed in the interview which are most often unspoken but buy your actions.
  • Here's what i got as most memorable/important things:
    1. Consistency
    2. Honesty
    3. Right now action with right now people
    4. Law of averages

    Alex Tita
    Here as promised
  • Pete
Average guy who makes an 'about average' income
Wouldn't accept past failures as a reason to give up
No 'fake it till you make it', honesty is the best policy
  • Priceless.
  • Hans
Great series, great week, great ending! Thanx gents!
  • I greatly admired Sherman's honesty, openess and integrity.

    1. Meetings. Being small and grow into them. This is where the income will grow.

    2. Don't give up. When you fall down turn it into a success. Pcik yourself up and learn the lesson.

    3. Repetition on a massive exposure on a regular basis.
  • billrogers
Great Interview! Very humble man, shows the simplicity of the business. Identified what and how to look for leaders in such a simple way. Genuine person who shows how to implement honesty, integrity and hard persistent work to overcome.
  • bryantkeefe
Sleeping on the Detroit airport floor, using the tools and presenting to groups again, again and again. I also liked he persistence of going to the 6th company and now he makes $1M or more per year. Hard work, smart work will yield results, real results. Great stuff as usual Eric!
  • Nancy Eldred
Mr. Unkefer is a pure delight to listen to. You can tell he's an honest man with integrity, and a strong work ethic. He's a great teacher, giving us information that's real, easy to understand and use.
  • germanjaramillo
Very good interview. From the interview a very important aspect is that our business is like everything in life, in the sense that we have to grow step by step. Consistency is very important and being focused every day in simple activities to help your business grow.

The other point is that big meetings begin with short meetings. Meetings make money.

Good interview. Happy weekend and happy stay in Australia.

    From Cali, Colombia, with love

    -GJ
  • pollyhulseman
lots of small meetings - committed - consistent - honest is really the best policy
  • anthonyviglietta
There are many things memorable about this. The 3 that I like are - 1) The fact that he failed in 3 other companies before he had his success- 2) The numbers that he gives us- he sponsored 95 people, 15 people took it seriously, 8 people made him wealthy. 3) His work ethic. The one thing this proves is that if you truly work this full time, with a lot of effort, you will reap the benefits in the years to come. I know most can't work it full time, but if the situation permits itself (laid off, unemployed) it is POSSIBLE to work full time even from the beginning.
  • My wish for all the people around the world who watch the previous episodes of Mr. Unkefer interview is that they also watch this complete and uncut interview. There are very useful materials in it. Mr. Worre thank you so much for all your effort. I really appreciate you so much. See you soon....best regards from your biggest fan.

    Hello Eric
Thanks for the fascinating interview. Produced from it a lot.
Thank you for inspiration and learning.
    Yuval
  • I like this guy ;) Very easy voice and nice to listen too. It made the information he was saying easy to understand and use.
  • Very professional man working the numbers, Thanks for interviewing Sherman
  • I take away the fact that Sherman believes in taking consistent massive daily action, to never lie about earnings and belief in the fact the "meeting model" works.
  • wouterdeprez
I learned so much from this interview, thank you!!
  • peterburrows
There is one overall feature of this interview....
Sherman knows the numbers. He treats NM like a business.
    he knows the conversation rates.
    he knows the turnover.
    he knows the growth.
he knows, he knows, he knows.
It is his business and he treats it as such.....but my goodness he deserves the results.
    More gold dust from NMP.
    Pete

  • jeffreyhall
Pick your company carefully, be persistent and be consistent.
  • ngocttk
Three things most memorable to me in this interview are what make someone special - consistent on MLM activity day in day out, building relationships by not hiding behind the computer but by meeting, and the last one is defining the moment - deal with difficult situation.
  • Erik
The creditcard story and sleeping on the floor, and the honesty abouth everything including hard work and a lot of meeting and the simple basics of what he is doing. It was also great to hear him saying : How to get to 500 people in a meeting ? You get there by doing a lot of small meetings :)
  • mlvw
    His passion, honesty and commitment.
  • hillin
I love the uncut versions. Like for movies, you have some mini details that makes all the difference.
  • Mark_Abrahams
Inspirational - Thanks for this interview. I have learnt much and reinforced what I have already learnt. I could list the major points here but, as long as I list them somewhere (including in my head), then this has been yet another great mini journey. Thanks again Eric.
  • Personally I feel the 3 things most memorable about this interview is...
The experience Mr. Sherman went through... the credit card denied and how he keep on keeping on.
  • Great interview all around Eric! The things that stood out for me. 1. Taking the survey, and think that's a great way of showing people the importance of telling your warm market. 2. Being consistent and laser focus on what you want to accomplish. The importance that little meetings, lead to big meetings. 3. Being honest about what you are doing. Don't fake it to you make it.
  • Perfect timing, Just back from Sydney.
    Will devour this tonight.
  • Consistency and Focus! I'm on it!
