I thank you again for making these videos. Alice
  • heatherbrocklehurst
    Great leadership!
  • wealthandriches
It's true. Your Network Marketing business is built as a team. It's not a one man show.
  • Skipping to the Complete & Uncut episode...but wanted to make sure I complete the challenge and make a comment! ;-)
  • This is something that Mike Dillard said, this is industry is an industry of promotion that is pursued by people who don't know how to promote.
  • Focus on the small guy: Brilliant.
  • Dylan Cooper
    Network marketing is micro franchising.
  • yitz613
    Promote,promote and don't stop...
  • The Peoples Franchise....I have never heard it put this way....I like it!!!!
  • meagankellytorres
I agree. We must go back and put the focus and attention on the people we bring in. Let them get the praise and the recognition. Talk about them and their dreams and goals. Make people feel special and important and appreciated.
  • Calvin Boutilier
    promote away!
  • Luis (Pelon)
MLM really gives you an broad spectre of opptions.
  • cmattern
Okay, yes, lots of people doing small things consistantly. I especially 'clicked' on the part about the 'successful' people needing to spend time with those that are doing those small things. I am struggling with getting more support from my upline and it can be frustrating. Still... if it's going to be, it's up to me.
  • Relationships are everything...
  • Elaine Baril
"Franchise" Nice way to put it :)
  • Dylan Cooper
Great info! The peoples franchise! Yes it is.
  • JON FORTI
    PROMOTE , & DUPLICATE
  • Damijan81
I'm going to implement more recognition within my team, people really need to be recognized more.
  • susanjohannesson
I like the part that this is the people's franshise!
  • BobbyRay
Getting a large group of people to do a lot of small efforts over a consistent amount of time. Sounds like a plan to me!
  • raybeattie
Focus on building the relationship....classic John Fogg and the best way to build, in my opinion.
  • Vonnita2010
I completetly agree, FOCUS ON THE PEOPLE!! In mlm and I am very new to this, you have to be on top and available for the people you bring in, n be there to train, help support, give thechniques, push, until they can do it on their own, it is not an easy job we all know it, but we can identify who those people are who need the support until they blast off on their own n we know they will do the same that was done for them when the time comes.... if you give your support for a period of time that u estimate is the time period that you believe is key, and the person doesn't meet ur standard, well u loose them and will loose the rest eventually, or maybe many... our products are already working, but the strength of the network that we build really depends on us and yes sir, that is not an easy task.
  • CarlosVera
You’re right; this is a business of promotion where personal promotion is fundamental. Like you very well said it, the ability to get a large number of people to get to do a few simple things over a consistent period of time is fundamental, and this is achieved with promotion and motivation skills. People have to be willing and proud to be able to do what it takes (meaning consistent hard work) to become successful in the “people’s franchise” business.
    Great stuff guys….

  • CINDYSU
I've heard the phrase, "The wealthiest people in network marketing master the art of recruiting and promoting." Good to hear it framed again in different words.
  • Love the heated discussion-JMF always adds a contrarian element-gotta love it-he is an icon in our industry!
  • pech
Anyone who wants it can build its own peoples franchise.
  • classy70sgirl
I love that term, "The People's Franchise"!
Thanks for another great interview Eric!
    Classy70sgirl
  • I used to have the concern that leaders get paid off "the backs" of numerous people, many of whom may feel as if they are struggling, but I doubt there's anyone who was forced to join or was not shown the way to success. They had a choice to join and also have a choice to do the things necessary to succeed.
  • robbinsaturniewicz
The "Peoples Franchise" ! Find the people who want that !
  • AdvocareJax
The ability to promote is obviously necessary. I appreciated the reminder that we need to celebrate the successes of everyone so everyone is recognized for their part they play in the team win.
  • travelprohawaii
It is so simple that I complicate it so much. I know I will be able to get to that place where it is really simple and that everyone will be successful as we all do those little things consistently. That penny doubling everyday will really turn to a million dollars!
  • donham298
Leverage leverage love the talk by John and also your inter-action
  • Robertdiggsjr
Get the masses to do a little
  • tyroneholmes
    Thank You
  • Jay VanNostrand
leverage in action...everyone doing a little to achieve a massive result collectively
  • Carlos Perez
    Event promoter is very important
  • drkay
Getting a large number of people who do a few simple things for a consistent period of time.
  • Jessi
Yes, it's the individuals who make up the mass of the business
  • luciabrazell
    just do it
  • Here I am... waiting for the last part
  • quincy
I get it. Focus on getting the masses to do a little.
  • krisic
Simple and consistent, simple and consistent,...
  • mspaulamc
John, thanks for giving appreciation where appreciation is due ... WE THE PEOPLE ... great segment
  • nickgarrison
I just finished listening to "The Greatest Networker in The World" and will listen to it again and again
  • Donna Wheaton
Promoting is the essence of our business if we don't master that it will be harder to succeed.
  • John Boyd
    I am really enjoying JMF.
  • Vange01
Promote, promote and promote because this is our business
  • loraine is so right-- promote, promote, promote.
  • happyhealthybob
You are so correct Eric, my top leaders help me when i need them. Mr. Fogg reminds me of my grandfather.
  • Vern Trabue
The bottom line...go to work promoting your business every day!
  • Lorraine
    promote; promote; promote!!
  • jeanalbert
Top earners are relentless, world-class promoters. If you want to succeed in this business, you've got to learn how to "market" yourself, your business, your products, & etc.
  • tommycone
    #228
I can see were I need to learn to promote and build belief. thanks
  • smreed
It is the magic in our business to be able to promote and build belief. I am looking forward to the Promoting webinar on Feb. 3!!!
  • ronaldvandomburg
mmm I've got some mixed feelings about that large group of people doing some hard work...
still struggling about the residual income part: how is it residual, if you have to work day after day after day to get results?
  • smreed
Hi Ronald, Just to clarify for you about your mixed feeling of a large group of people doing some hard work...people everyday are working very hard all over the world in jobs for little pay and no ownership or chance to ever get ahead. With our mlm businesses we work hard but it is for our own business and our income potential is dependent on us! Pretty great!!!

The residual comes in time not overnight... don't forget many people have spent their best years working hard until they were 65 years of age and some continue past this age without ever getting ahead financially only to retire on a fraction of the income that wasn't enough to live on when they were working. Building a residual income has the opposite happen....it grows over time, it doesn't shrink like working life moving to retirement income does.
As Eric put it so well...."We do have a better way, now let's go share it with the world"!
  • crwood1967
Promotion, is a key thing, I think many people are wanting to know how to start out especially when you have 5-10 people only in your group. How can you expand upon that?
  • kristibateman
    Thanks Eric
  • Arnold Thompson
    It keeps getting better
  • SJ Doug
I am feeling the pain as a little person waiting to go Big
  • Eye opening
    great information
can't wait to here the rest of it
  • Right, let's focus on the little people!
  • seija
This is a business of promotion and the people's franchise
  • John Spardella
The effort of a large group of people promoting will help the organization and the individual in more than one way.
  • alltheverybest
Promote, promote , promote - everything to everyone...looking forward to Wednesday!
  • This IS a people business. Thank you Eric and John for these excellent insights.
  • mrmauriocrawford
I understand what both parties were saying here. Eric wants to make sure that nobody looking at these vids gets the impression that the big guy is making it at the expense of the little guys. Erics totally right. With the big success that comes w/ the big guy, there are so many hundreds/thousands/millions of little and not so little success to go with it.

moral: Nobody gets to the top alone. We all have help.

I'm grateful to my future downline for the Millions my family & their families will earn from what we all create together.
  • clairecameron
THe people's franchise - yes... if you want a networking business there are ways to get started no matter how much or little money you have to invest.
  • germanjaramillo
Every day I understand more the importance of being a good promoter in this profession of MLM. As Eric says in his commentary ... to promote all aspects of the business helps a large group of people to do simple things for a period of time consistence.

A greeting from Cali and this time with permanent Internet already.

    -GJ
  • julie67
This business is definitely a team effort!
  • PaulineP
The people's franchise and to get the word out...Tthere is a better way".
  • gkamlm
He sure hits the nail on the head with world class promoter being a key success ingredient.
  • conniegleave
    Guilty as charged!

I do tend to spend more time with the 'earners' in my organization vs the 'little people'.
Starting today...my new philosophy is: Honor the people! All the people!
  • Gustavo Munoz - Colombia
    Events and promoter, key factor
  • Ryan
Promote and find those that buy the highest wak pak...yeah!
  • Agneta Rebo
Talk to people, Talk to people, Talk to people, Talk to people
  • kgadol
Looking forward to the Feb 3 webinar. Consistency ... and a willingness to carry our weight. When we each, individually, do "our part" - we all win and succeed.
  • klmwahbiz
promoting is the key in any business but I think some people make it harder than it needs to be, if they can just get over the fear of rejection and hearing No...over and over. Remember just one more step towards that next YES!!! Keep up the great interviews Eric.
  • Promoting is key, I just can't figure out why most people believe that it has to be done through hype and manipulation.
  • feltricks
I think this is the topic where I've been lacking since I started my network marketing profession.
I've been terrible promoting, and it is great to know that best promotion must be, promote the people.
    Can't wait for the webinar.
    Thanks a lot.
  • cherisizzles
I love how John highlights the importance of the people. That shows his character. I love his no-nonsense attitude. He says it how it is.
  • cherisizzles
I know a lot of people have already said this, but I seriously can't wait for the promotion webinar, Eric! I respect your success.
  • Nicely put! "The People's Franchise" I will have to check this out...Thanks!
  • Luis Gringras
For a large group of people making simple thinks over a long period of time, you need a event
  • marvalouslife1
    Hi Eric,
I'm looking forword for your events promoting webinar.

    Ron Ackerman - Israel
  • Steve_Nelson
The beauty of this profession is that no weenie will ever make the big bucks because you do have to develop skills and work hard.
  • jennyc
We do have to depend on our team mates to help us grow
  • DianaValdez
I like that John mentioned that, the small efforts are not always recognized because if they are small but consistent then they do mean something. It's funny that it was mentioned now, just last Sunday on our event, the guy from the corporate mentioned that autoships were going to be recognized, autoship is the heart of the business and I love that they are thinking to recognize it.
  • Promoting consistently is as important as doing the few simple actions consistently.
  • germarl
Big business success comes from lots of 'little business' success - a great point John made about focusing on the 'little businesses that are succeeding, recognizing them, so that they replicate and collectively create 'big success'
  • emmettb
I don't think that this segment came across as well as it could have. I like the simplistic idea of promotion, but "on the backs" is a poor way of describing a team.
  • jean_albert
Many people promoting their own products & business to many people, supporting each other, for the success of all involved. Everyone doing a little bit.
  • talya_mitzafon
"YOUR ABILITY TO GET A LARGE GROUP OF PEOPLE TO DO A FEW SIMPLE THINGS OVER CONSISTENCE PERIOD OF TIME" = YOUR SUCCESS.
  • Interesting.....Top Performers ,what ever their campaign is they are "worldclass promoters" at it......great interview !
  • eddyoshaughnessy
To get to the top you must start at the bottom
  • Can't wait to your webinar to get better at the promotion part. I like JMF ideas on recognizing the successes of the little people.
  • Daniel W. Cook III
    #19
This is definitely a business of promotion... that's why I can't wait for your webinar on the 3rd!
p.s- Love the way you handle these interviews. there's a lot to learn just from the way you interject and clear things up at times.
  • Simple, consistent and duplicable.
  • ulla99
It is true, nobody can do it alone.
  • gmolina
Becoming a world class promoter, having compassion for your company, allowing others in your down line to celebrate their accomplishments as well - huge for your business.....
  • dawnmarielagmay
I love the way things are broken down so simplified but w/such powerful insite at the same time. We ARE in the Business of Promotion!
  • Tina Perdue
Everything in life is made of lots of small parts..making a great big whole.
  • some will always work harder than others and get further than those who had the same opportunity and chose not to do the work
  • keithraines
Good overall interview. Many points to ponder
    Thanks John & Eric
  • andreabyrge
Not everyone will be an eagle and I know from experience that it is easy for them to feel belittled if all they hear is talk about the big stars in the business. It is important that everyone feels welcome and appreciated because they do matter!
  • amberaimshigh
Success is a team effort! I believe this wholeheartedly! As a leader it is our responsibilty to help the team and the new partners that want to acheive their goals!
  • highimpact0406
Thanks for reminding us of the simple point that this is the "peoples franchise"! That was great!
  • onemartymac
Just watched this again... Thanks for all your work
  • Let us promote the little things that each and everyone of us have to do, whether you are a top leader or a part timer. Then maybe we would have more people say " yes I can do that!"
  • drmikempa
    Excellent!
  • Darnell
The people franchise!! Excellent way of relating to network marketing. Small simple steps combined with getting a large group to participate consistently over a good period of time one will get the reward of gaining financial independence!! Looking 4ward to the next video!! Thank You!!
  • Great choice of words and you're right NM is "the People's Franchise".
I need to see this video over and over again. Thanks Eric & John
  • randers1
our success is predicated by the success of others. Not just the hard work and efforts of others, but the SUCCESS!
  • randers1
Honor the little guys; don’t forget them. Wonderful insight; remember where we come from. Helping our candidates understand that if they are willing, we will help them find the appropriate steps in their circumstances and run with it.
  • randyhendrickson
I also believe it is a people business. It is the effort of all that make the whole idea a success
  • Nancy
Business of promotion. Reminds me how much am looking forward to your webinar. Much needed.
  • clickjt
What are the few simple things that we want people to do, and how do we create the culture where people will do those things that are necessary to build their businesses...and pass that along to others as they begin their careers.
  • A key thing to remember about NM is that what makes it work is a lot of people, each doing a little.

It’s easier to get forgiveness than permission.
  • annenz
Like the concept of people's franchise and the art of leveraging. Thanks
  • wouterdeprez
I appreciate this john milton fogg, he sais what he thinks and does not beat around the bush! By the way, how can i upload my picture here, i looked around but couldn't find it.. Can someone help me out?
  • I think it was important that Eric clarified what John was saying. I think 'leverage', which is what John was talking about, is a two way street .

When people actually understand that THEY can build their business by leveraging the efforts and skills of the leaders in their businesses ie promoting events, or using third party tools (often created by the efforts of people that have already been consistent over a long period of time), when people understand this I believe it will empower them to grow their business.

By the way, I am starting to love the phrase ' a large group of people - doing a few simple things - over a consistent period of time!
  • Lotta
    Peoples-franchise everyone can do it.
  • Simon_and_Lia_NL
    'Peoples-franchise', beautiful language... well spoken
  • lucbehar
229: Thanks Eric and John! great interview, great content to listen on and on!
    Love it
  • lucbehar
    228:
People franchise, so true and interesting! Yes, we want to make sure our people franchise and duplicate the model! And as all franchise, their results is based on their effort, their ability to take over their load on their back!
Let's go and watch the next one
  • Many good points in this episode..This is the people´s franschise, and many small efforts make a big one. If you want to be a leader you have to be willing to "carry the load"
  • Great episode... the full timer was a part timer so we need to mass motivate the part timers so that some of them who decide to, can become great!
  • carolmcwilliams
I loved this segment. Great image of NM to be "The Peoples Franchise." This is brilliant. Eric your distinction that success in this business is getting a large group of people to do a few simple things over a consistent period of time. As a leader I ponder what actions do I take to help foster this message to my team. What is my Mantra for the simple action to be taking. It is sinking in that this is a major key to focus upon to create real success. I am going to write out clearly the simple formula and make sure I give this message clearly.

What a gift these videos are. Thank you.
  • jacob stiner
Hi eric Celebrate the small steps which creates the big successes. excellent interview. Thanks
  • beckydesabah
    1. Promoting events,
    2. Simple and repetitive actions,
    3. Appreciate "small people" and their work,

  • Eric, Wow I enjoyed this one so much I viewed it three times in a row. A lot of people doing a little. Good news is we do not have to get a lot of people ourselves. Just a few who get a few and so on... what a concept. The Peoples Franchise, that has a nice ring to it. Maybe an intro of, Have you ever heard about The Peoples Franchise? No well let me explain how it works!
  • Ellis3
Eric I feel you in this interview ... we want people to continue to strive and look at our leaders as examples of those who've done it before. But John is correct here. And the Greatest Networker book showed it best: if you can take someone who is doing the least, spend time with them (that you create!) and help them become successful, you know what happens to you. Bravo John for sticking up for the hundredaire or thousandaire in our profession!
  • frankdiaz
    good stuff......
  • Bea Resnick
The key is - what are the simple things you get the large number of people to do over a consistent period of time? Recommend and promote - the products, the possibilities. Events just do this on a bigger scale.
  • Ellis3
But every person has the ability to create their own Big Event ... they all must start with the small events - 1on1's, 2on1's, small home meetings with 3-5 people. Thats the real simple consistent stuff.
  • dterrell
Interesting points made, excellent interview. Thanks!
  • mikeyfromvegas
Hi Eric & John, again great job. To be a good promotor we all must learn to ask the right question, and learn to be a better listener. Thank you
    Mikey
  • This is the best franchise I have found so far.
  • rmonte
We need to become the best promoters possible and focus on our people. Help the ones that want to be helped and are willing to work hard and listen. Thanks

    Rick M
  • coltsco
A good reminder to keep working on being a good promoter and a nice segue for your Feb. 3rd webinar.
    I'll be there.
  • bartonmurray
This IS America, thank God it's America-one person at a time!
  • rosslopez
It is the people who makes this business and promote the product. We all have the opportunity to succeed, we just need to focus on the consistency of doing small and simple efforts every day, all the time to get something amazing ouf ot it.
I really like this interview =o) thanks for sharing Eric
    Hugs from Mexico
    Rossana :P
  • margarethockaday
simple small efforts and the willingness to carry weight. excellent
  • david_high
"the People's Franchise", where people helping other people can achieve success together.
  • chipc
the "people's franchise". yes it is, and what a great investment!
  • georgeman
Promotion is top I agree. One of the things I was taught is the idea of taking downline with you to a sign up or follow up meeting, this is awesome promotion. That downline you take, needs to promote the next function with you (being a little assertive and cool at the same time) at that small meeting. This pretty much assures that the downline(doing the promoting) will go to the next meeting, and the new person or sign up has the function or meeting promoted to them by someone other than you. This way, the new person learns the way we do things. This is both, promotion to all at the meeting, as well as equipping your people with skills. Lets not forget, our aim is to make downline as WEALTHY as possible from our end, the rest is up to them. Lead them to the tools, and SHOW them the way. Without their success, we are dead in the water.

J M Fogg is one of the most neutral N. marketing teachers I have heard. He is simply about the industry as a whole. His book "The Greatest Networker in the world" is one of those "role playing" books that brings you in to teach you. I can only imagine what a few hundred people like Mr. Fogg blogging their butts off will do for our industry, to bring it into the mainstream, and give it the increased respectability it deserves. Thank you Eric and John. This is a wealth building site par excellence.
  • Small contributions by many lead to a great success. Team work!
  • fc34615
Regardless of the outcome that we get at events, we must continue spreading the word promoting our company/products if we dream of being successful.
  • Great stuff.
Thanks for the reminder Eric of the simplicity of the Network Marketing Business.
It is the "people" that really make the difference in this industry. They all "carry" the weight.
We should honor all of them in ways that motivate them to continue and help them to grow.
Leadership is throughout the organization and not just at the top.
    Thanks again.
    God Bless,
    -ed
  • Edward, thank you for your comments, I appreciate you. Also thanks for the heads up about my link not going through - I have it fixed now.
  • Foord Yates
'From the Ants to the Apes, it is the efforts of the few, the small, and the many
That the Leader has someone to lead,
That the King has someone to rule,
That the Wealthy has someone to buy,
And that the Corrupt have someone to defraud.
But it the passion, the fire, and the eagerness of the little person that he leads himself to become the Leader, the King, the Wealthy, but not the Corrupt'.

I'm not sure where this is from, but I grew up with my Grandfather repeating that over and over....

    Foord Yates.
  • brianhepner
Really what I like about this business is the ability of anyone to be successful. Vote for the best opportunity with your feet and take your skills with you.
  • racingworm
    A people franchise. Interesting statement
  • I like what John said, "The people make this business." It's so true!
  • I love that too Dorene!
    Make it a great day!
    God Bless!
  • There's a thin line between:
    deification and cult-hypnotic motivation and
    duplication-supportive mentor leadership.

From reading the comments here, the distinction does not seem to self evident. and for the sake of our profession, it should be.
  • Foord Yates
    Hi Jack
Yes, you're right, its a thin line.

How many "big leaders" have we seen jump from one MLM to another believing that "my group will follow me, I'm the hero, they can't do it without me", then a month later, when only a small portion jumped ship, the hero wonders, "hrm... maybe I need a new cape".

Yes, leadership and the big dollar heroes are necessary,
but the adulation and celebration should be distributed to the workers who enroll new members.
All of them, no matter if its their first 5 minutes or their 50th year.

    Foord Yates
  • bartonmurray
Hi Foord- I think a true leader allows their people to discover the process without necessary doing it for them, they need to let them feel pride and sometimes you have to recognize it for them.
  • dlinkhart
Just go do it! That's why is said all the time, but sometimes we still don't get it. Sitting at home in front of a computer is not going out there and doing it! Great stuff!
  • I totally agree with you Dan! It's the time you spend with the people that counts most.
  • karenandian
The leadership distinction - get a large group to do a few simple things over a consistent period of time. Focus on these people. This is a "Peoples Franchise". Great analogy!
  • Keep promoting. Thanks,
  • caronwashington
Promotion is huge. I think about Don King never stepping in the boxing ring to box but he got two heavyweights to square off in the ring and beat each other up but yet he made more money. Amazing! I like the face of recognizing and promoting the "little" people. Those individuals dont have the top titles but yet they play an intricate part of our residual income every month. Their will be a lot more of them than the top earners. Gotta treat them right
  • Jilliangene
Like what was said - you have to go out and do it whole heartily. Be creative a seller and care about the people working with you.

    Thanks Jillian.
  • Art D lasvegas
Sounds fair to me we all have to start somewhere and build what WE want for ourselves, it is great to see where we can go with this industry and it will take work.
  • latachia_2
We tend to focus on the people on the top, leading the people on the lower levels to carry the weight on our shoulders. It is the price you have to pay in order to have the ability to to get a large group of people,to do a few simple things consistantly, over time.
  • Denise Cox
love how john talks about the people that are doing the do every day. those are the people to appreciate! no one talks about that! so often the focus is on the race horses. the ones that get to the top so fast, make the big moolah and live the dream so fast. then there's the rest of us, the pack horses, who build slow and steady. it's nice to feel acknowledged that way. :) great show.
  • FrankMarshman
One of the things that I learned over and over in a former network marketing business was to "council up line". I would spend hours mapping my tiny organization and tweak my work log and sometimes drive several hours one way to have 15 or 20 minutes of time with them. I never heard the information I have been hearing here.
  • georgeman
Hey Frank, I agree with you, and I would like to add. The info here is compiled in one place, neatly stacked for us to read and view. I believe most successful systems out there pretty much have everything one would need (the success we see in many different N. Marketing companies proves this), but the problem is that the info is so spread out in books and audio/video. I find that one "learns as he builds his business" and also "forgets as he builds his business". I was thinking, this is a great resource that allows us to "council online" as well as "upline" (in our own company), which I personally do for moral support from a like minded guy and partner.
  • mbryant
Good dialogue! "the People's Franchise" I like it.

Thank You John for sharing your insight.

Celebrate the lower levels. When I started Network Marketing the one thing I was looking for and remain strong in is recognizing the little effort, that doesn't happen in corporate America. Every effort is an effort in the right direction.
  • Agreed, I was listening to a training call recently and what some teams are now are doing have created a new beginning level that they recognize people for. Our comp plan has a binary, so when a person sponsors someone on their left and right, and then help them sponsor their first left and right also, then they have achieved the quickbuilder status and are recognized for it.
  • martinvf
    I like that last part.
in my opinion this is an industry and a business of the people that are on the "lower" levels of the organization.

    Saludos from Aguascalientes, Mexic.

The ultimate PEOPLE BUSINESS...love the discussion! Thanks Eric & John!
  • gjt
great comment on giving appreciation to your downline
  • The thought that we all start from square one and grow the business by promoting and doing a few small things is key. Top promoters grow with their business and continue to grow in expanding their promotions is also key. Thanks for these insights.
  • BTW... The link to your site does not work properly. It has some funny special characters in it.
  • I'm with you Wayne. It is through these simple daily activities that we can succeed in Network Marketing.
Thanks for sharing with us. Make it a great day!
    God Bless!
  • janetrajala
I have to agree that a lot of attention is paid to the diamonds and stones of the business. On the other hand, that is how the newbies learn and can be motivated to keep on going--don't quit!
  • Ria Leermakers
Building with a lot of small steps from a lot of people gets the traction in the organisation.
    Thanks for the interview
  • ACTION ACTION ACTION, a consistent line of small actions creates more results then the one who's waiting, because he want to learn enough that he will make no mistakes....
  • HoracioMejia
There is no top earner who didn't work his way up. That is, everybody in MLM comes from the bottom. I see it as leverage instead of being paid for other people's work. Everybody has been "small people". Some for days, some for years. What I have seen is that some top "leaders" don't listen to their small people.

One more interviewed leader that agrees that MLM is a promotion and event business.
  • bryantkeefe
Celebrate the small steps which creates the big successes.
  • lisamb84
"The People's Franchise" -- I love that! Thousandaires is another great term of John's I like. I would guess that lots of folks give up on this industry because they don't make the big bucks fast enough when making an extra $1000/month is life changing for most!
  • This is true, the fact that there's a tendency to forget the small people. I'm "guilty" of this and somehow paying the price.

But how to balance it, when there's action and a fire going on somewhere else?
Maybe create promotions for the people in my group that reach the initial ranks? It looks good to me. Or celebrate the small victories, like enrollments?

    What do you think?

    NOTES:
Top leaders are world class promoters. This is a common theme. The business we're in is a business of promotion.
The distinction for leadership is the ability to lead a large group of people to do a few simple things over a large period of time.

What is that we're telling our people to promote and do and how to keep them motivated to do it over a large period of time consitently and replicating that process?

We tend to focus on the people on the top and tend to forget on the small person doing the simple effort at the bottom. We haven't done enough honoring on the small people.

A piece called "The People's Franchise"
  • Eileen
Wow, this guy tells it like it IS!
  • Yes he does.
  • We all start out as the "little" people. When we start the climb it is important that we don't forget the people that come after us. Just like (hopefully) the person above us helped us. Make it a team effort and everybody wins.
  • MLM is business of promotion and promoters are most successful networkers.
  • orlyalbo
Promoting and actions. just know this make a diffrent.
  • maariee
Thank you very much for sooo much intreresting information
  • anthonyviglietta
I like the "people's franchise" concept. However, all of the millionaires in this business ALL started at the bottom. That's the great thing about network marketing. Any "little" person can make it to the top with hard work, drive, effort and belief. MLM-the ultimate EOE!
  • jlt0wn
I wish I could say his points were well made in this segment. Unfortunately I can't. I think the 1st two were better. I do agree about the importance of "giving it away", sharing knowledge, helping others. Part of the reason I got involved in N.M. was the people aspect. My job is more about technology & technical info and I needed that people fix.
  • pollyhulseman
promotions - an area I really need to work on.
  • I like that term "the people's franchise". So let's all get out and promote and let others know that we have an opportunity for them to go into business for themselves without having drop the cool million+ dollars it would take to have the big name fast food store. Before I got into network marketing I always thought about having my own business, but all I knew was that I didn't have the money or the knowledge. That is the beauty of network marketing: you don't need much money and we'll supply the knowledge.
  • ydmoskow
Milton Fogg brings up an excellent point ... the little people. I think it is essential to interview the mid tier marketers. Those who are making $1,000 a week or $10,000 a month.
  • keithraines
The people's franchise is a good read. Promotioon is key as well.
  • Lisa Smithson
I can not believe how much information is being offered on this site. I am ready to tell the world. Thanks for the interviews I have learned so much.
  • NatalieLamb
So - John you are So right that it's a people franchise - it's one of the few ways the little people can learn on the job training to free themselves from normality.

I think that if we focus on the little people as tho they are little people, they stay little people. For me, if they stay a little person they truly have no freedom - because their income does die a tad when they retire, and they constantly have to play shop. If they are taught to be a leader and grow businesses, they can achieve freeedom. I think a huge part of the business is developing the little people to think like leaders and shift their consciousness so they can grow into the leader they can become, thru changing their belief, skills sets, team work (from co-dependancy to leadership) and actions. It's a step in the fiscal evolution.
  • TAbrams
John's comment "No one is going to get anywhere without carrying some weight" is so true.

All the leaders within our organization are World Class promoters. Everything is an event, and each event builds to the next and the value is promoted. As additional leaders emerge within your organization - your ability to get a large group of people to do a few things over an amount of time compounds. More people at your large events - more Transfer of Belief.

In our profession it is "The People that make this work", and without many people each doing a little this business would never have the leverage that it does.

I am interested to find and read John's paper - (The People's Franchise)
  • What I am taking away from this is the truth that you can have everything you want in life if you'll just help enough people get what they want. I got an e mail from my upline yesterday telling me that I need to do something to help him - that's poor leadership - he isn't supporting, he's demanding and not in an accountability way, in a selfish way. He hasn't earned the right to make a withdrawal from the emotional bank account. The e mail was followed by another from his upline with much the same message about how important it was to his goals that we should do something and that we shouldn't need to be asked. Neither of these people appear to understand that this is a relationship business. Neither seem to understand the difference between sponsorship and enrollment and neither have laid the foundations for success which is why they have dysfunctional and underperforming downlines. Looking forward to waving at them from my rear view mirror in the future ;-)
  • bethascoli
Wow Brad, I'm sorry that you had that experience. Some people really just don't get it. Let's show them what great leadership looks like! We can be the change that we want to see in our organizations.
  • NatalieLamb
WOW - Randy Gage has a saying "You don't manage people. You lead people and manage things."

And shares how this is a volunteer basis - and that as a leader you build a culture that compels folk to do things in their OWN best interest!

I heard an aidui of him saying two things:
    1. I will never lie to a team member (conning them into doing something)
    2. I will never get you to do something for my interests, that is not in YOUR best interest.

I wish you luck and love through that!
  • PT Barnum would have been an awesome networker!
  • When you are committed to being a Professional within the business of Network Marketing, it is quiet likely that you have the fundamentals of being a “leader. However how you will be viewed as a leader over the long term will depend on just how good of a leader you aspire to become.
How well you develop your set of leadership skills and business practices that will “lead” your downline, to do a few simple things over a long period of time , will be directly correlated to the overall success you can achieve. In this case Success can be both Qualitatively and Quantitatively.
Quantitative success as a leader might be characterized as how much income you can realize over a certain period of time, or how many people you signed up in your downline; certainly these can be interpreted as a measure of achievement.
Qualitative Success is however, where I find the greatest satisfaction. It is where you will be able to look back over your shoulder and be in a position to take pride in those that follow in your footsteps and become Network Marketing leaders in their own right.
This is where you can truly judge your status as a successful l Network Marketing Professional and as a Great LEADER!
  • FrankMarshman
Bill, I couldn't agree more. It really is about how many you have brought with you up the ladder not what rung you are on.
  • Being a great promoter is definitely going to help you build a huge business. Just look what happens to your team after they attend a big event.
  • jlconner
I understand that the people that make it big is because they have worked hard. This business is not about finding others to do your work.
  • lorijones
    looking forward to tomorrow. Lori
  • Bernadette
Made me think of one of our top money earners who always says "I am distributor just like you, I have just heard more nos!"
    Thanks Eric
  • Connie Tolton
Keep the info coming on this is work and sometiimes it's hard work. We need to be reminded that just because you sign up with a network marketing company you don't have to do the work. I use the analogy that just because you sign up with a Fitness Gym you don't automatically get fit - YOU HAVE TO DO THE WORK!'

  • Edith Kohler
I do not really know what to comment today.Listened to this part twice, but I'm not sure I understand this .
Read some other comments too and see I lot about "people franchise"?
And that N.M.is a promotion business that's clear.
  • Edith, I know what you mean - these interviews are a bit obtuse for me too. I think I'd offer that promotion begins with the vision of what you want to achieve, then the discipline to get organised, the tenacity to carry on past the obstacles then the authenticity and charisma to engage and persuade people to follow you by showing them that you are genuinely interested in their success. Razzamatazz alone soon wears thin - as do the manipulative NLP techniques of handraising and stand up sit down, wiggle the person next to you's ears that some organizations practice. Hope this is useful?
  • This was an interesting interview. Not as jammed pack as the previous ones, but still interesting. Looking forward to tomorrow.
  • Bjorgli
We are all different and we need those doing big business and those doing small business.
I love the phrase: a large group of people doing a few simple thing over a constant period of time. And I like to listen to the people doing big business. Almost cannot wait for tomorrow. Thanks.
  • theuns
If every one just do his small part consisted every day , then you will move forward and to say thank you to every one for what he or she has done then every one will keep on working.
  • susanclark
#228 - John Milton Fogg's Interview Part 3 0f 4 - I agree that we need to focus more than we do on the effort of everybody in our business who is consistently working the business because they are the backbone of the business. I love it when I hear a top earner on the stage saying he/she would not be there except for the effort of their team. Thanks again.
  • I like Stephen Covey's quote: "Leadership is communicating to people their worth and potential so clearly that they come to believe it for themselves" (or similar). Inspiring people to cross the "bridge of belief" so they can realise their goals is the best motivation and should be above personal success - which will come in any case from others' success.
  • I think you've answered my question a few comments above.
    Thanks
  • Lisette
    I´m looking forward to tomorrow.
  • jeroenlingier
Wonder what's in that letter: the people's franchise.
    Liked it as usual.
From belgium, this is Jeroen Lingier
  • I can't wait for more....John is very real in his approach. It IS the people doing the heavy lifting and getting out there that make a difference. Even if the heavy lifting involves getting a bunch of preferred customers.... I'll be interested in knowing how this ends.
  • You know, it strikes me that an attraction of network marketing can use the pyramid as a model, only use the inverted pyramid. Meaning, that when we elevate the many, doing the important repetitive tasks, and support that growth / development, then that becomes the better way.

We may want to realize that when we "glorify" the exceptions and call them the "big people" and call the rest the "little people" doing small tasks, we're still clutching on to the old model/old way. True, examples and inspirational stories are important, but let's not leave it there to be an implied message. Isn't the real message that ... you are important and you can do this too. You come with your ethic and coachability and you do the work. We will help you suceeed, we'll show you the way.

When the leaders are true servants with resolve, offering support, training and mentorship, then the whole thing inverts and does become a better way.
  • gerrynickerson
Promote. Keep the info coming. Thanks.
  • Once again the importance of being a world class promoter that teaches people the little things it takes to success. I think the reason why people,(like Mr. Fogg said) focus on the top people(diamonds,Executive Directors, etc) is for faith. That why I feel that it is important to have recognition be a part of people building a organization.
  • Hai
Can't wait to learn more about being a world class event promoter webinar in Feb... I am all ears! Thanks!

    "The People's Franchise" Great description.
Also liked when he said if you are not willing and proud to carry weight you will get no where.
  • jpmendoza
Will look for "The People's Francise". Good information again.
  • dougharkins
    Relentless promoting, Thanks!
  • Before I became a network marketing professional, I worked in the promotions industry and if someone just said it was promotions---I would have understood it better.
  • Jose Lopez
Love the concept of "The People's Franchise". I will borrow it from today forward. Looked for it over the internet and couldn't find it. Any idea where we can read the paper? Thanks both for sharing your wisdom, good humor and experience.
  • Hi Eric! Don't have that much to say, but I like the show as usual. And thanks John for sharing your experiance! / Linda, Sweden!
  • Once again you take a word that is bounced around by top money earners in networking opportunities and "spell it out" for all of us. I use to think promote what? Thanks Eric and John for the education.
  • Earl
Promotion... Humm, maybe we need to focus more (promote more) on the "little correct actions" that are done throughout the month, (like a proper tool placement, or proper invite...) I see that every great travel is made up of one step followed by the next step, and repeated again, and again etc. And as more and more people step in your direction of travel the more gets done and the greater the results become for you and them! (Assuming that you are heading in the right direction yourself.) Duplication is just that, a repeated copy. It is not a improved repeated copy, unless we improve it BEFORE we teach/repeat it.

Thanks for the great small concepts that make a great building blocks for our businesses.
  • Hey Earl - I agree with you points which are well made. Good promotion will get a short term effect but may also end up with high attrition rates unless the initial momentum is supported by skill development and supportive mentoring.
  • drpricedc
I like the term peoples franchise
  • JudasPierce
its will always be about the People....and to improve the Network Marketing Industry and how it's look upon the rest of the world, we can improve how we treat the people who does most of the work, and build the businesses.
  • Miguel Cortez
Yes i do my part.... That why im a net work marketing pro...
  • gmeyerson
I always try and give kuddos to my downline for all the things they do in a positive direction. This really is a business of PROMOTION to get the people in, but I think the next step is TRAINING and that's where many fall short.
  • mariasiro
    good again, thank's
  • hcapcarp
"The people's franchise" Where can I find the article mentioned?
  • jpmendoza
You can locate the article in the Febuary 2006 issue @TheNetworkMarketingMagazine.com
  • dstfa96
Top earners are world class promoters, whether its promoting thier product, an upcoming event, system or culture. Our profession of network marketing is a business of promotion so we all have to do our part so we can become top earners!
  • eugenejohnson
    Well Eric ....
im going to get a little controversial here and say i disagree with John on one of his points and i know we can say he has probably been studying Network marketing since before i was alive but im out there with the new people every day i conversate with them and on a local level they get alot of praise and reconition for the little things they do...i think they get alot of attention and focus. Maybe in a big event or corprate event the Diamond plus people get alot of attention but thats usually to get the people who are doing a little to start doing enough to get the big praise at the big event but being in the trenches i see the "little person" get some big acolades for small production. Just my opinion maybe your right, im just calling it like i see it.
  • Erik
I think its great you disagree, but No I think John is right. We need to take care of the "little person" No company or organization can do that enough. The truth is that the "big leader" have a lot of people often only using the products or have a few team members. I have friends in a lot of different companies from Agel,Amway,Herbalife,Nuskin, vitamark,ACN and Shine. None of the grownfloor people gets enough recognition in any of those companies. But I can tell you that I have a friend in Tupperware, they are SO GOOD taking care of their small people, I did not join them because plastics is not my thing, but I learned a lesson.
  • patrickmcfeely
Just got the people's franchise, how good can it get?

Thank you for your time Eric
  • The peoples franchise - good concept. In any business we should be thinking about duplicating systems.
  • timandtrcia
Pro-Motion...what a concept! Creating a culture around and promoting the Success Formula is the key. John makes a really good point. Recognizing and appreciating the "little guys" taking all the consistent action will go a long way toward building a solid organization.
  • socorro
great information, we have to work with people we bring in first if the want, to do it, take them with you to the top, promoting absolutely, thats were they get the big picture thank you.
  • MarvinTowler
"The People's Franchise" I loved that expression. It succinctly describes our business. John's frankness is quite refreshing.
  • Great motivation!

I also agree that is very common that people thinks that network marketing is just about leveraging on others work in a bad way. I think that is one of the most dangerous taboo out there (althoug most of the corporate people that often thinks this, are the real burden and suffering carriers).

Thanks for sharing your view on that and clarifying it to the world!
  • Ernesto_Busnelli
John is pretty direct and humble.
He must be a good mentor to learn the ropes from.
  • gillym1
Do you know for instance what a MacDonalds Franchise costs these days? Yoou need to be able to support yourself and your family through the lengthy training period too - then - with luck, maybe 18 months to 2 years down the line - you may make some profit!

In NM you should be in profit from day one!!
  • ybimbalanced
People doing small things on a consistent basis.. now that is duplicatable! Thanks Eric!

An affordable franchise with no risk. It's a concept I wish more people understood.

The people's franchise - interesting. Can't wait to hear more tomorrow
  • People franchising... yes, It is priceless. With no big outlay of money! I'm going to use it!
  • I have to echo what many others are saying, that "people's franchise" line is priceless. That IS what this industry is - a franchise for the people.

Focus on expressing and support and RECOGNIZE the new person who doesn't have a person in his/her group yet.
  • ritafulton
Love the "people's franchise"!! I believe that if I can help others to become successful..whatever that means to a particular person..then I have done well..and it will show up..one other thing I am learning is to "weigh my ego vs bank account" in order to promote more...

    Thanks Milton and Eric
  • daddykekere
Hi Eric thanks for your great interviews.I notice however that you've been doing most of the talking on these series with John. You seem to cut him off when he gets to answering a question you pose to him. Have you known him to be one who talks too much or strays away easily from a topic? I realize that you are very time conscious and trying to get the meat and cut the fluff. But we have not had much of he has to say.Pls respond to correct me if am wrong or clarify for me your intent here. Thanks
  • DaddyKeKere - I did notice that too although I always like to hear what Eric says... In my mind, Eric is simply directing the conversation.
  • rasdaniels
DaddyKeKere-I too noticed this. I got the impression that John was about to go on a "rabbit chase" and Eric was directing him back to his original question.
  • kgoren
My aha moment for this segment.....The people's franchise. What a great way to look at this business.
  • A point I will remember, this is a people's franchise and a people's business. I will make it a point NOT to forget my downlines ! ! !
  • Bryan_in_KC
A world class promoter working within the people's franchise. I like it!
  • JenniferDu79
I love how Eric made a point of saying even the little guy who is doing the work is gaining something from this business as well. I also love the phrase The People's Franchise. I also think there is something to be said that just because someone doesn't get the "whack pack" that they can still build a large business with effort. I will take someone coming in with heart that is ready to work over someone coming in with the largest starter pack who wants to throw money sit back and wait for returns.
  • You touched a very important aspect of our business: attention to the people doing small things consistently.
Yes, we have to show more respect to them, it will make the organization stronger and more profitable for every teamplayer.
  • KeithN
This is the people's franchise and a people business. The people who are working their way up the ranks in their company are sometimes forgotten. And their upline leadership doesn't always know the appropriate way to support them in their efforts.
  • Episode 19 of Eric Worre's 100 Episode Throw Down Challenge:

Very good points by both of you gentlemen... Thanks for all you do to promote this great industry.
I think in essence you both agree with one another.
  • Mark_Abrahams
    This is great stuff.
I have yet to build my team and will work as hard as it takes to sponsor my team of future leaders and to guide them as Network Marketing Professionals.
I will take responsibility, demonstrate respect and nurture my team.
They will enjoy the journey, realise potential and will develop both personally and professionally, building relationships, friendships and partnerships as they work.

I will consistently lead and duplicate the best of leadership which I enjoy.
The NWM business, as with any great business, is only truly successful when the leaders lead and manage by example – and can be judged to be doing so.

As someone who is new to NWM, coming from a background of UK public sector corporate ways of doing things and as a qualified professional, I thought that I would automatically become a Network Marketing Professional. Not so – this business requires us to earn that status.

Firstly we have to learn the ropes (or we could just go at it blindly and simply see what happens...and still be successful).
Personally, I like to track my success and know-how and then I can pass it on - because I know what works or doesn't work. I have great leadseship and am proud to be part of a winning team and, like many others, I will still be learning on the job but I will always recall what it is like for those who are dealing, in these troubled times, with ‘stuff’ which gets in the way of their success – so that I can be aware of their barriers to success and help them around them, any which way I can. To truly help people to win you have to have an ethical understanding of and an empathy with people, otherwise not only will they not win...neither will we. We may become rich but we will not have performed as professionals.

This job is all about people and we need to be professional about the way we are with our new friends and partners.

With Eric and John I am learning from the best. Thanks John. Thanks again Eric.
  • Surprising how me must learn the nuance of words!

Remember; always speak at the level of your prospect.
  • garyparmenter
    The peoples franchise...great concept!
  • Staying connected with your team and praising them for the efforts is just as important as praising them for results. We all need to get better, and encouragement from the top makes us want to get better. Don't ever leave the little guy behind, you never know when they'll catch up, or blow you away.
  • GREAT view on big picture of what builds a team and it's small efforts of a team that build a big business and the guy with the big business is also doing those small things...and he carries his "load" just like everyone else. good stuff!
  • kamalharris
The real "Big Dogs" in the profession are masters of promotion - events, calls, products, etc. I like the term at the end where he calls Network Marketing "The People's Franchise" where you can start your business for as low as $50 to upwards of $1000, get out there and completely change your life.
  • The People's Franchise - an opportunity that's open to all who are willing to pay the price. And the price has to be paid with your own blood, sweat, and tears - through personal change and development - getting out of your own way, stepping out of your comfort zone, and putting others ahead of your own personal gain. It seems to always come back to Zig Ziglar's words of helping enough other people get what they want, and you will get what you want. My wish for you is that you are willing to pay the price and help others get what they want.
  • Pepeneto
This is the "people franchise", I love the concept...thank you
  • interesting discussion, I'm looking forward to #4
  • I appreciate all people but i appreciate more the big ones, because they didn't get big by accident, the get big by assisting lots of people. Giving value. If a persons ideal is to stay little that's fine, but if they stay little because they don't have an ideal or don't want to grow.. i don't appreciate that.
    Alex Tita
    Here as promised.
  • rayrios
The Peoples Franchise..Great thought. Underlined comment, lets not forgive to recognize the collective doers./ Thanks for this episode.
  • I think we here the big hitters talking about the money they are making and people buy in (lottery mentality) on the dream. Then it doesnt happen quick or its hard to many no's whatever and stop. But what if we could do like Mr Fogg indicates promote that all we need are people willing to do a little and multiply that across a large amount of people. Set the expectation that it is going to take 4 or 5 yrs building an organization consistently. Maybe thats what we need to be promoting instead of the executive super diamond ruby pearl drop level. Because over time you will get to that level, just not next month.
  • Yes, this is a 'people's franchise', where the average guy or gal can start their own business for a fraction of the cost of a standard franchise and start building their dream - instead of their employer's dream. Having said that, I still have a problem with the $1,000 dollar "whack packs" as John referred to them. Builds great volume, but tends to leave a path of destruction in your wake ... I've seen it far too often.

    Best,
    Scott
  • carybennett
Definatly a reminder to always give lots of recocnition to the ones working hard and coming up in rank and growth not just the Big guys, Thanks again, good stuff
  • Awesome! Geez Eric, you just keep coming with value. This is great stuff and what everyone needs to do in this industry--promote! Keep it coming! John is awesome!

  • There are some very key points here. A lot of people doing a few small things.. leaders recognizing that they didn't get there all by themselves... companies recognizing that every day people CAN become a part of this business and of course, promotion.

I don't think promotion isn't always 'Big Deal' promotion, either. Promotion can mean being a master at promoting YOUR story. People join a company because of you, not just information, so become a master promoter of your story.

Most people are already an expert at that and don't even realize it.
  • Tony
Great interview. There's not much that John says that doesn't make sense.
  • It is a very good point in this. Do not only focus on the big pins....also focus on everyone else in your organization. That is a good leader doing, makes everyone count....
  • Good for you Eric, setting the message straight!
  • denisekay
From Maya Angelou: Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtues consistently. You can't be consistently kind or fair or humane or generous, not without courage, because if you don't have it, sooner or later you will stop and say, "The threat is too much. The difficulty is ...too high. The challenge is too great.
Hope everyone has the greatest day ever.
  • andreas papakostas
alot of people doing a little bit
  • Leaders are those that support and recognize the daily efforts of the team. Find a product and company that allows many to succeed on a small level first like getting there own product use for free. Then they masses will stay with you until they can break thru to reach success.
  • barryburgin77
I know I first have to get myself to do a few simple things consistently over time. Easy to do, easy not to do. I am trying to grasp this slight edge philosophy. Promotion doesn't have to be anything more than talking about my business to 2 people every day. Just 2! And I don't mean a full presentation either. I know this.....but I still don't do......
  • chriskemp817
Network Marketing is The People's Franchise! I like that!
  • Thanks!
  • quintaser
To honor and to help to succed the team members, thats the clue, it´s a natural reaction to focus on the rock stars, but the team success is to help each other to understand the simple things we must be doing all the time.

I think that John brings up a great point that we all need to be aware of as WE become leaders. That point is that there is huge importance in valuing and recognizing each person's effort and contribution to the success of an organization. That recognition is VITAL in moving people to remain consistent and motivated to grow further.

As you often remind us, get a large # of people to do a few simple things over along consistent period of time to achieve massive success. Often with the encouragement and recognition of others, people who never thought that they COULD do it...are able to achieve amazing things!

I will keep that nugget in the forefront of my dealings with team members. Thanks John & Eric!

This is a business for every one, if you are willing to do the work, and follow the systems in place you will succeed but it will be by doing the daily activiities that are required, Stay the course, and on the day you don't feel like doing it push thru it and you will be rewarded.

  • I believe we all like being acknowledged when it is something akin to spontaneous and on point. The relationships we have with people will let us know, if we are actually building relationships like this, what kinds of acknowledgment supports them. As a tactic, appreciating people is phony and occurs like manipulation. I like it however much better than the tactic using fear of loss, the whip and the club. A carrot, even stale and limp looks good against the them.
  • This is a business of promotion… that pretty much sums it up. Great episode guys, looking fwd to entire uncut episode.

oh yea, I like that you mentioned the formula for success in our business again. It can't be said enough.
Your ability to get a large group of people to do a few simple actions over a consistent period of time.
  • Underlying message of the importance of the product and/or service offered. To build on great numbers of people consistently doing the small things over time means a commitment to a quality product. People tend to stay focused longer when they find tremendous value in the product they offer, which in turn makes the opportunity they offer even stronger.
  • The art of promotion. Something i have been working on and continue to do so. good stuff. When is the tim sales interview coming?
  • lauralopez
The word promoting is very extense in this business because as a leader can promote events, web seminars, tools, all the things that are related to grow.

Excellent! Peoples franchise. Honor the people. Become a world class promoter.
    Great points.

This comes back to the democratization of Wealth......the opportunity and pre-built system of fundamentals (manufacturing, Shipping etc) to fundamentally change a life through the truly most efficient system of providing superior products/services......Think of the countless Numbers of lives changes around the world with the addition of 3,4 5 Hundred Dollars a month into the household not to mention the reduction of onerous tax burdens on that same househols....It should be NWM that is held up to the spotlight as the model is changing lives for Super Stars and Super Mom and Dads alike!
  • barryburgin77
I agree. And I think the time is coming when NM will be mainstream.
  • Nancy Eldred
Another great conversation today - Reminder to say thank you, I appreciate you, you matter, for the sales you've done - the effort you put in etc. That's motivating ..

  • turjcxg
Yes....! I'm registered and can't wait for that webinar Eric! Thank you and John for this show!
  • Irina
Formula for financial independence HERE is our ability to get a large group of people to do a few simple things over consistent period of time. That is why it is important to learn and teach the skill of promotion.
  • hillin
+1 Irina. Best regards Hilli N.
  • Don Harrington
When we do simple things consistently over a period of time we will see results. The KEY is doing the correct things in the correct way consistently will produce the most desired results. Many people that do these things will help produce massive results over time.
  • hpena
I agree, more recognition needs to be given toward organizations rather than just 1 person.

    Nando
  • Gakungu
There is an old saying that it's not what you do it's what you start. And many of those who start need recognition every step of the way because even getting that first customer, it's a great accomplishment.

The Peoples Franchise - I love it!
  • carolbarrett
The people's franchise -- love it.
  • Mark Dickson
    The People Franchise great idea
  • "Honour the People!" Maybe that is one of the things that has been missing over the last few years. It is "The Peoples Franchise" and an opportunity for anyone to excel at whatever level they wish to achieve. It goes without saying that we need the leaders to show people the way but sometimes it does become like pop star worship and this can be devastating for someone who is just beginning and who thinks this is what they have to do. You cannot become a leader unless you shoulder the weight but not all newbies want to become super stars. The leadership needs to be there for the beginners.
  • claralondono
peoples franchise..personal franchise..thats it and everyone is to be valuied.
    thanks
  • peterragg
Should be some interesting comments on today's segment.

I agree with John, NM is not a numbers game, (old school NM). Everyone has to be respected, nurturing our teams, giving them the skill sets to be successful, (Network Marketing Pro is one of the centres of learning that i point all of my people to, Eric's archive is brilliant).

Seeing how it is done and following the leaders in your company is key, recognition fundamental. If people can clearly see the link between working hard (and recognition) in the business and earning X thousand dollars per month after X years and which is totally realistic and they have a plan in place to achieve it then that is the way to do it.

I want everyone in my team to become Network Marketing Professionals, only when the have clearly demonstrated that they have been successful. This is 21 century NM and that is our responsibility to make sure it happens.
    Very kind regards
    Peter Ragg
  • Katie N
I enjoyed the discussion between you two. I like the term "the people's franchise". I think that helps to describe why this is a great business model.
  • Jillian
Pretty interesting comments - I perceive it always as the people's choice! To either join or not, buy the whack pack or not, and then to work it or not. I think the fascinating part for the people is to see the successful ... and most times to see how they struggled before the success. That is the hope you provide.

Thanks for everything, especially the controversial...it really is food for thought
  • nikomachi
I like this guy ...... he says it as it is ;-)

People's Franchise. Building every event by being great at promoting every step along the way.
    Thanks Eric!
  • Paco_Carreno
I love the idea of Promoting the simple aspects of the business... We promote a system of doing the business, a small, mid-size or huge events... We promote an opened vision of same phenomena (job, economical crisis, dreams...). If we become world class promoter of very down-to-earth things we will connect to that large group of people doing very simple little things during a long and consistent period of time.
  • brigittapatel
    People’s franchise.. love it.
It is a business of promoter but don’t forget to
appreciate the people who do the little things every day…..

    Thanks a million
  • yuvalcohen
    Hello Eric.
Yes, our business is built on people. People who choose to join in order to change their health, economic.
Knowing that another way. From what we know so far.
Great leaders. Probably enjoy a lot of people. That they built a network of people. They taught partners how to do successful business and enjoying
  • Cee_G
Hi Eric...Interesting session. I understand what John is saying. We see the big names and the big success stories all the time, and hear about the ones that are getting it done. In the process, the people who are not up in rank yet are sort of lost in the crowd. Everyone loves recognition. You have to be able to stick with the NM business even when you don't have any recognition - and I think some people find that hard and leave this business because of it. You have to be your own best cheerleader, whether it is this business, or anything else in life. Thank you!
  • Day by day I got the realisation that this is a business of promotion. Thanks to men like you Eric the people who do want to make a succes out of this become more and more a promoter in a professional way. Thanks my friend for all the wisdom you share with us. best regards from your biggest fan.
  • Dave S
How many people have you heard say, I would love to own a franchise someday? We have the answer. I'm headed out to the porch to tell about "The Peoples Franchise".
  • jeffreyhall
Promotion takes many different forms. The leader can take the promotional efforts of many and focus them to the benefit of all. This provides all individuals who make the choice to be involved and enganged the ability to learn and advance to the highest possible skill and achievement level.
  • BetterCoffee.dk

It's not just in USA you focus on the stars.
We do that as a species, and there's nothing wrong with that.
That's the inspiration to us as we get started. To see someone and think "he's no smarter than me. If I do what he has done I can get the same as him!"

    I know that's how I think!
  • Ngoc Tran
Now I understand that NM is a kind of business originated from America so that the way of building it must be the same way of America too: honor people!
  • tomlacey
I really enjoyed "The People's Franchise". Relationship marketing gives everyone and opportunity where many traditional opportunities can only be accessed with a significant financial investment that many are unable to make.
  • soxfan071
There is no doubt if we don't understand we are in the business of promotion and we don't WORK HARD and carry some weight we will not have success.
  • Today's video reminded me of the Zig Ziglar quote 'You Can Only Get What You Want, If You Help Enough Other People Get What They Want'
    Great stuff in today's interview..
  • When will people get it?
I bet there more gems in this... can't wait for the uncut.
  • Kjell Englund
Nothing is easy and free, to be someone in this business you have to carry weight.
    Thanks Eric and John :-)
  • Good stuff. Recognition is such a major part of our profession and the key is to be so busy giving it that you don't need it yourself. Do that and it'll come anyway.

Cheer up John. Forget the green light. Put a mirror behind it! lol.
  • MagnusEdvald
Mr. Fogg has a perspective that is a bit different than many previous guests and that is great.

Heck, even though I'm married to a Russian, I AIN'T NO COMMUNIST!....I loved that amongst many other things, like...In democracy we honor people!....We're in the biz of promotion....and last but not least:...Nobody is going to get anywhere if they're not going to carry weight!...Great show!!!
  • Erik
    Great show, thanks
