NMPRO #241 – Think About YOUR Legacy

February 15th, 2010 Email This

Legacy is critical to all of us.  What do you want to be known for?  How much do you want to contribute to the lives of others?  Some very important questions.

Challenging others to be better people is how I hope to be remembered when my legacy is spoken amongst others. :)
  • aliceflanders
I am still very much in the preparation mode. I hope shortly to be in production mode. Showing others how important personal growth is will be my legacy.
  • What do you want your children to remember you most for? Dangerously thought provoking.
  • heatherbrocklehurst
Very thought provoking. My mind immediately goes to my children when I think of my legacy. It's hard to imagine the impact of your life.
  • wealthandriches
Great thing to think about. Our lives can have a great impact on others if we get involved in their lives.
  • Legacy is really what its all about....looking forward to this short series on the topic.
  • yitz613
After we are gone what will they or, "HE", say about us...
  • Dylan Cooper
I've been thinking about this a lot recently. It's really very important. It is frightening to think that if you do not take action and move towards your goals, then you could end up not leaving much of a legacy.

We each have a responsibility to make sure that is not the case.
  • Susan Johannesson
I want to know that I have done my very best to imporove other peoples lives while I had the chance. I want to be kinown for that I was a caring and helpful person who made a different for other people.
  • nmpro4ever
i want to be known for making people's lives better and richer.i want to show people a better way to live.
  • classy70sgirl
Thanks for a very thought provoking episode Eric.
I'm going to be spending some serious time churning this over in my mind.
  • When people think of me I want them to have a smile immediately come to their faces. I want my family to think of me with love and pride in their hearts and I want them to say they will strive to lead the life I have shown them.
  • AdvocareJax
I never had the pleasure to meet Jim Rohn, but one of his partners is one of my mentors at my company. He truls set the bar that we should all strive for when living a life of significance.
  • Luis (Pelon)
I want to be remembered for being a good person, for helping people grow and for giving.
  • Eric Worre, you are the PROest!
  • Calvin Boutilier
I want to leave my name as a great family man!
  • meagankellytorres
Legacy... This is similar to vision and contribution and what is the purpose of your life. I want to be known for helping others transform their lives and expanding their minds and growing into their full potential. We must learn to live life full on and not to play small. We must be true to ourselves while helping our fellow man gain the same belief in themself. Lots to visualize and contemplate and live up to. I'm up for it. Who else is?
  • Jose Lopez
Great point! Now, the thing is ... we are doing this already! We are already leaving a legacy!
Itsn't something that we plan or dream to do, our legacy is what we are doing right now in our personal lives, our families, our business teams, our communities!
  • claralondono
Love this reflexion on legacy.. will do...Thanks Eric
  • ViktoriaGuerin
Great message and always good to think about the legacy. It can be even one of the big why`s.
  • susanjohannesson
I would like to be known for being a person who cares and helps other people. The more I help the better I feel. I would like to contribute to the lives of others every day and start up something to help more the day I have money enough to do so.
  • cherisizzles
I LOVE the idea of legacy. A word that holds such meaning and such promise. I believe that word Legacy is one of my main dreams for my network marketing career. Very motivating!
  • What will be my legacy.....create thought provoking question!
  • Vonnita2010
Hello Eric, your question is WHAT IS MY LEGACY??? my legacy is to leave a spirit of positivism, energy, encouragement, empathy, honesty, loyalty, and more than anthing love to all those who live with the opposite!! you once said that NM was the SCHOOL OF LIFE and I agree completely, NM is my tool to build a strong and forever lasting legacy, the legacy of becoming big from being almost nothing. The legacy that tells you HOW YOU CAN DO IT IF YOU WANT TO!! THE LEGACY OF HOW YOU CHOOSE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE! My best..
  • lynnhall
Fear stops us from success, beleive in yourself. You need to have confidence and talk to people everyday, where ever you go.
  • Shovers
Good question to contemplate, what legacy do you want to leave behind? That one got me thinking. Jim Rohn, what can you say. If I can leave a small portion of what Jim Rohn left, what a huge legacy!
  • jlt0wn
to have helped others realize their dreams
  • Most important for me is what I'm going to become with help of NM profession. Over the last year I have changed dramatically just because I've joined MLM company. I've learned more in just one year, then I've ever learned since I born.
  • I'm speechless ;/
  • timandtricia
Thanks for the reminder. The answer to this question is the basis for how we spend the our time on the planet. What's your purpose and how do you want to be remembered.
  • Vange01
Eric, Great question... because I want as legacy to be able to help people to be the best they can and Network Marketing is a great way to do it.
  • My Legacy may be small right now but those that I have helped to realize their true potential either has an impact on them now or they won't realize it until later in their life.
  • jeanalbert
This is a big one. Almost no one ever thinks about it and yet if we focused on it and would keep it in our thoughts, it would most likely keep us moving in the right direction.
  • Melli
Thats a good questions. We have to aks ourselves again from time to time.
  • Bea Resnick
There are very few who will be seen as "great" in the eyes of the world. We must remember we ARE great and live our lives accordingly.
  • Robbin
From the start I've wanted to help others. That is my goal to help others find financial freedom
  • Lotta
There is something to really think about. Thank you
  • Agneta Rebo
Legacy - that´s really something to think about.
  • DianaValdez
I would like to leave the legacy of people helping people, people following their gut instead of listening to what society things is right, people respecting variety...
  • Inger
Before starting with this great profession, I never heard of Jim Rohn. I heard of self development but never took the time to really do something on a consistent basis. After listening to him over and over again, I also started listening to others and reading more than I did for the last 10 years or so. (Business reports etc not included) It brought back a part of me that was hidden during the years I worked in the corporate world.
The question you ask is a very difficult one and one that I've been trying to answer for myself for months now. If I can help even 1 person to get all out of his live, explore all his possibilities and not settle for the 'standard' I think I'll be happy... Although if I can help one person, I can also help more... :-) That would be a great legacy!
  • luigijr
great point eric this is something a lot of people dont think about
  • Carlos Perez
We all want to be known in live and after. this profession, give you the ability to do that. by helping other people reach success and improve their lives.
  • CarlosVera
Wow............tough question. I guess I'd liked to be remembered as someone who dared to live his dream and helped others to do the same.
  • John Boyd
A great challenge - there is no past without a future....
  • seija
    Working on it...
  • Jessi
    Good aspect to think about!
  • Jay VanNostrand
The legacy I am leaving lies in empowering 'ordinary' people to live extraordinary lives
  • julie67
Caring and sharing. I think that is why we are here on this planet. The more we can serve others, the more we serve ourselves.
  • I would want to be remembered as someone with a sincere desire to learn grow and evolve, not just in network marketing, but in life. That willingness to learn grow and evolve will provide me the skills I need to teach, lead, and inspire and to impact the lives of many both in and out of my business.
  • germanjaramillo
The animals are born, grow, reproduce and die.

The humans, born, grow, reproduce and die and must transcend.

Indeed the legacy I want to leave life revolves around the opportunity it gives me the Network Marketing in the world.

I hope through the freedom that this profession can give me, make affect the lives of many people and provide for many the understanding of their purpose in life.

A special greeting from Cali, Colombia,

    -GJ
  • Well, if you live with integrity and share your stories, it creates an energy that affects your surroundings. Once you realize this, it is possible to duplicate it at infinitum. Where and when it started does not really matter. We have countless unknown heroes doing it!
  • jean_albert
Legacy - In recent years, goal setting courses have been proding people to imagined their IMPACT on the people around them for the next 5,10, or more years....when we think about years off, it brings us back to viewing our impact day to day on the people around us (spouse, children (big & small), friends, associates, etc.). We have an impact whether we like it or not, positive or negative. Let's have an IMPACT on purpose ... with a mission target years off to draw us.
  • Luis (Pelon)
I want to be known for my hard work, being a good son, father and husband and for all the good deeds I'm making for other people in different areas such as education and enviroment.
  • Something I never concidered in this business
  • I want to be known for as a person that allways be there for his family and friends, and giving, loving and serving other peoples life's in every kind of the way is what me feels complete. Best regards from your biggest fan.
  • ronaldvandomburg
it's always a very powerful question to ask yourself. for me, the answer has to do with relations and people, and not with material goods...
  • shawncyr
Good questions. How do I want to be remembered? That would take a while. I'm gonna write these thoughts down and start working toward their realization.
  • Hi Eric - I think your legacy through NMPro.com is already becoming well-established and the event that we recorded together on 15 Feb 2010 will help millions to realise their goals through network marketing.

I had so many favourite moments and turning points during the day but the best part of all was when you were rounding up and the entire room began to join in with your "My wish for you is that you decide to become a network marketing professional, because ladies and gentlemen, it is a stone cold fact that we have a better way - now let's go tell the world!". By the time we finished, everyone was on their feet cheering and crying with delight! Absolutely amazing! I will carry that moment with me forever. Thank You so much for giving us your time and experience and for transferring the belief.

    Your friend,

    Brad Wright
  • I would love my legacy to be that of bringing out the best in people; of helping them grow to their potential. One of my favorite quotes is: “There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects It.” (by Edith Wharton)
  • Earl
Thanks for the incredible question! I am working on that question... But what I do know so far is, that it will have a little of Jim Rohn and Eric Worre mixed in there! (Well maybe a little more than a little bit.) Thanks!
  • Ryan
thanks for the website and planting the "legacy" seed.
  • JenniferDu79
I will definitely have to spend a lot of time thinking about what I truly want to leave behind and how go bringing that about. I don't know what it is yet but I know in time as I grow and develop within this industry I will get a better picture of what that is.
  • Connie Tolton
Thanks for taking the time to address this as sometimes we get caught up in what we are 'doing' we forget 'what we are doing'.

Covey's principle" Begin with the end in mind" at your funeral to think of what you want to leave behind. Powerful practice!
  • Paco_Carreno
I've just arrived from San Francisco after the Network Marketing PRO Live Event... It's amazing the satisfaction I have for having taken the decision to stay longer for that event... because I've decided I want to find myself in the level of excitement and commitment I've been through the whole weekend (one of my company's best convention and this NMP Live event...) When I think about legacy... I already decided to put Network Marketing and the Personal Development that goes with it into the next level in my counry (Spain) within my culture... and literally distroy all the prejudices (based on ignorance most of the time) against this PROFESSION. I'll be remember for having become a Network Marketing Professional and set the high-way to succeed in this profession within Spain. Eric, save this comments because one day (and I'll do my best to make it soon) we'll have the opportunity to celebrate it.
  • JenniferDu79
Paco, It was such a pleasure to meet you at the event and chat with you in line before it began. Please know I am in your corner cheering you on. I wish you the best in all you do!
  • nikigombis
Good way to plan. Do I want to leave a legacy or do I want my legacy to live on?
  • happyhealthybob
i already know what i want my legacy to be.how it will get there and the true shape it will become i do not know yet, but i know that if it half of Jim Rohn's that i will be good.
  • Legacy is so important isn't it? I am looking forward to learning and growing from the wisdom of elders!
  • kristibateman
I said to myself, I said "Self" what kind of legacy do you want to leave behind......Wow
    Thanks Eric
  • Arnold Thompson
Leaving a legacy or an impact on the world has always been a desire of mine. I have been a "giving person" all of my life and I know that this profession allows me to touch a lot of people's lives.
  • Good question Eric. I think the earlier in our lives we can answer this question, the better we'll be, and the faster we'll find success too. Thanks for this reminder.
  • bryantkeefe
Great question Eric.....Each day I become more aware of how I am in this world and what I GIVE to this world. I need to step up and get BIGGER that much I know. Thanks again for the great event in San Francisco! Everyone else when The Network Marketing Pro releases this new 8 hour product you must invest in it and your entire team must invest in it. Powerful stuff.
  • Oh my God, legacy - I hope that people will say some nice things and that I was able to impact people to take the right steps towards their dream life.....
  • veronikakari
Perhaps I have too small kids, but to be honest, at this moment I want my kids to remeber me as a good mum a remeber what we have been doing together and what I taught them.
  • aliceclifford
Hi Eric I saw Les Brown about 5 years ago.It was very nice to see him give a tribute to Jim . My favorite thing of one of his "Jim's" cd's. Was { Never ask why. Do not take that Class.} Thanks A.C.
  • this is an exercise I went through in coaching a few years ago and it is powerful...will really make you see things in a different light when you think about legacy.
  • hcapcarp
    Eric
Loooking forward to you bringing on the heavyweights !
  • Ria Leermakers
A few years ago I have ben studying management. I was reading the book of Stephen R. Covey, the seven habits of highly effective people. One of the questions asked, was to write my own memorial.
It made me think about what I wanted to leave to MY world.
At that time the most important was the legacy for my loved ones: my husband and my kids. For them I wanted to be remembered as a loving, caring mother and wife. I hoped I'll would leave my kids with a vision on their live that makes other people important to. I would have thought them love and caring, a social attitude, honesty and several other things. Beside that my family and friends where very important to me. I wanted them to remember me as loving and caring.
Your question of today makes me look beyond this. I still want my family to remembe me as written. But what do I want to leave the world? How many people's liveI can have impact on.

So I have to consider this question again. Really can't give the answer at this moment. But I promise I'll give it a lot of thought next days.
  • mbryant
Looking forward to the tributes. Always good to reflect on how our lives are being led...
  • dlinkhart
Boy, that really gets you to thinking! You can start with your own family and move on from there. Almost scary!
  • karenandian
This is something that neither of us has given thought to- however now that this has been brought to our thoughts we can see that no other market but NWM would allow you to do this. We both want to be remembered for generosity, partnership, mentorship. NWM allows you to GIVE BACK and PAY IT FORWARD!!
  • alltheverybest
    This is deep!
I want to be remembered with love by my family and friends, with respect by my peers and adversaries and with gratitude by those I have helped along life's complicated path. I don't pretend to be in the same league as Jim Rohn, but I will be happy to shine in the 'little league'!
  • deniseschnitzer
I want my legacy to include gratitude, generosity, love, thoughtfulness, connection and joy. Thank you, Eric, for making me realize my impact.
  • I am living my passion, lifting people up I touch to live their passion. I truly believe in living my passion, my legacy will be just that - "he lived his passion"
  • Mark from Germany
I just called my fiancee to look into this message .. introductively because she lived in San Fran for 5 years before coming to Germany to live with me ;) ... and furtherly because of the substance of the message and the warm way it was presented .. Network Marketing Pro has become part of my life .. these 3-5 minutes every day lighten my way .. thanks Eric, for being YOUR legacy to me, to us .. Best regards ..
  • chipc
I was at your event in SF. It was a great event, and even though I know the audio will be available to others, it's still not like being there. You are definitely building a legagy for Network Marketing. I am now inspired to come up with mine.
  • feltricks
My vision is to impact the most amount of people from my beloved country, COLOMBIA, so they can have the best opportunity in the world, with the best company in the world.
And change the image that my country has all around the world, taking a lot of people from everywhere and tell the to become ambassadors from my country worldwide.
    Thanks Eric.
  • pech
A client called me in the middle of the video and ordered some products. We had a nice conversation and I could hear and feel her satisfaction with both product and our service. I also know that some of our partners are really excited for the business opportunity. I sincerely hope that my wife and I will be known for having helped hundreds or thousands of people with our products or business opportunity. Wow.
  • liora
    B"H
In MLM we have the opportunity to change people's life in different ways, I think that's a great legacy
  • germarl
We can have anything in life we want - if we help enough other people get what they want..... and leave a legacy for doing so.....
  • kamalharris
It wasn't until I got into Network Marketing that I truly began to believe and saw a way to leave generational money to members of my family who aren't even thoughts in anyone's mind yet. Before that I always wanted people, for years and years after i'm gone, to think of me as loyal, fair, had an ability to make them laugh and smile even in the worse situations, that I treated them as best as I could, I did what was right by them and lastly, when my name came to mind, it brought an emotional feeling of Euphoria and excitement about themselves and they're lives.
  • emmettb
Very good point, how will I effect others in the years to come. I am journalling on this.
  • the legacy of always encouraging people and giving people hope to keep moving forward!
  • Miguel Cortez
Your Legacy....come from ur heart..... It show how big it truly is
  • Edith Kohler
Well I've pictures in my mind, what I want to mean for others and what I'll be able to do for them.
Whether we speak about knowledge, about being an example for other people or having Money to help.
The only thing is I'm beginnig to see that there 's no limit to what you can reach in life,so the pictures will keep on changing for the better I guess.
  • Stephen
Looking very much forward to seeing and hearing more on the Jim Rohn memorial.
  • Pepeneto
Yep...It's the size of your vision, the power of your actions in this life, the desire of help others to be better, the ambitions of built a better place. It's a huge need to make your children feel proud of you one day. Share something with your family and the world that is unique, that only you could give.
  • Bryan_in_KC
Everyone leaves a legacy. Good, bad or indifferent everyone will leave some kind of legacy. Even a person that does nothing leaves a legacy of apathy. I for one want ti be remembered in a positive light.
  • onemartymac
Business Plans are short term... legacy is forever
  • One of my major goals in life has always been to help or have a positive impact on as many peoples lives as possible. It is now and through network marketing that I will truly have an efficient vehicle to do so. Thank you Eric.
  • Episode 32 of Eric Worre's 100 Episode Throw Down Challenge:

What do I want to be known for, My Legacy? I think my Mission Statement says it best:

"TO CREATE A CULTURE OF WEALTH AND PEACE BY PROVIDING MENTORSHIP
BASED ON FAITH, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND SERVICE TO A LARGE
GROUP OF PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY YOUNG ADULTS, WHO WILL BECOME
    THE NEXT GENERATION'S DREAM BUILDERS."

Very important question indeed. Thanks Eric.
  • TAbrams
Everyone in our profession hopefully wants to be a "change/difference maker". I know personally the thing I love about this business is being able to make a difference in so many ways that impact so many people. If you go about your business with Integrity, truthfulness, a caring and compassionate attitude and with a servant mentality there is no doubt that you will leave behind a legacy to be carried on.

In our business being able to bring out the best in people, that sometimes they cannot see or believe in themselves, personally inspires me to continually personally develop myself, my actions, work on improving my skills so others may benefit from what I can teach and pass on.
  • kgadol
Very thought provoking. To leave a legacy requires tremendous personal growth and impact on others. This is my greatest desire ... I am in process and will continue on.
  • Dee_Canada
This is a huge challenge for me. I have never truly felt the power to have the impact that I would consider "a legacy". Listening to you of late, I am forced to relook at my passive attitude on the subject. There is a desire in me to have that positive impact for people through my opportunity. I begin to believe that I truly can!

    Thank you!
  • Yes, Jim Rohn inspired many, many people to go for the best life. He was a blessing to us all.
  • tommycone
    # 241 - Legacy - That is something to think about.
  • I've been thinking seriously about my legacy for my daughters and my grandson.
    My plans are in motion...
  • Eric, this question resonated in our ride home from the San Francisco event -- BTW -Anyone looking for the "How to" in our business is in for a GREAT treat, Mr Worre put together an extremely thought provoking and brain wrinkling training that should be considered Network Marketing 101 - 108. For now this question can not be answerd, outside of we want it to be larger than us.
    Many Thanks,
    Jenn & Jeff King
  • Haven't been thinking about creating a very positive legacy and who it would impact. We all leave some sort of legacy to someone. Most of the time just the closest family. It sure would be fantastic to create a great legacy to a vast audience. And Network Marketing is one of the best opportunities to create a long lasting legacy. Thanks Eric.
  • PaulineP
What a thought. Go about like a torch bearer and in the small and larger moments of your life, build a wonderful legacy.
  • Reminds me of a poem I read about our life. Most have probably heard it called "The Dash" - What will they put in your dash as you pass on from this world? Still trying to work on "My Dash"....Wished I could have been to the "Jim Rohn Tribute" - He is a "classic" and his legacy WILL LIVE ON FOREVER IN MY LIFE!
  • Thank you Eric for bringing to us the tributes of the great man Jim Rohn from well known leaders. I am sure it will help us to think deeply about our own lecacy.
  • susanclark
#241 - Think About Your Legacy - I do think a lot about my legacy. Being a former teacher having an impact on others was very important to me. Now, as a network marketer, I will at the very least leave a legacy for my children and eventually for my grandchildren when I have some.
  • food for thought... so no comments for now
  • randyhendrickson
I have often thought about this topic. I still see myself as one who will not leave a legacy to a large #
  • hillin
    That's the most important part.
  • Something to think about...
  • tomlacey
Certainly a deep thought for the day.
  • annenz
    Great topic.

The legacy left would be that I gave my best, persistence in moving forward to new things and helping others with a hand up.
  • eugenejohnson
My legacy will be that he changed the lives of millions of people threw business, music, ministry, and public speaking
  • Darnell
Big or small I hope to have touched one life if not many such as you are doing let alone what Mr. Rohn has done for thousands!! Thanks so much, Eric...Looking 4ward to the next video!!
  • Simon_and_Lia_NL
Our legacy must be: we tried, we pushed, we kept looking for solutions, we did overcome and became succesfull. That isa road with a lot of steps, but a good one with a nice view.
We wantto be an example to others in carrying through.
  • lucbehar
    241:
I would like to make a difference for people's lives
I would like people to remind me as a caring person that helped many people from all culture, religion, ages, countries and teached them a guidence, be a coach to people them to find and develop their own talents.

Looking forward to hear from the next episodes
  • Jilliangene
I have been thinking about this very question for the past few months. With my son starting college, laid off from my job and now learning the craft of network marketing, I have been asking what is my value thus far to my family, friend, etc. I think I have done well so far (not ready to ask). Now I am taking the time to understand my legacy, get to know me and like me so I can share with the world. So MLM is the an interesting choice for a second career.

Enjoy San Francisco the food is best!! Casa Madrona in Sausalito www.casamadrona.com, Crab House at Pier 39 www.crabhouse39.com, Pork Store Cafe in the Haight, The Stinking Rose www.thestinkingrose.com such an amazing city.

Thanks for the food for thought.
  • My first reaction is one of relief, I guess, to answer a question of "Legacy", rather than to a question of my "epitaph." Legacy implies continuance for life within life forward. Epitaph seems terminal. Even though Goal-planning exercises have asked fro me to write my epitaph, I couldn't seem to get there. Now, this challenge of my Legacy is a new framework that I will now address (not here).

As a side note, I feel very privileged to have attended and been a part of your Network Marketing Professional workshop today in San Francisco.
  • caronwashington
What we're doing is creating generations and generations of wealth, time freedom and peace of mind. Our profession allows us to do that. I want to be the person in the picture hanging above the fireplace and people looking at my picture and saying he's responsible for this lifestyle. Just like Sam Walton and the Hiltons....they sowed seeds that will go on for decades. I want to be remembered as a person who had integrity, responsible, visioneer, trustworthy, a good friend, caring, and competitive just to name a few. I will become the first millionaire and eventual multi-millionaire in my family.
  • If we live our lives in service to others, our legacy will take care of itself. When we apply those principles to our business, we will have incredible results.
  • aliceclifford
Hi Eric I heard of Jim Rohn when i joined my new Family i say that way ,because thats the way it feels. We use Mr Rohn's dvd. The legacy i would like it to be that i helped my friend's,Family and all my recruits have a much better life than when we met and that i was a good GOD fearing person. Thanks A.C.
  • juanfernandogutierrez
I am in Networkmarketing because I think is the way a am going to leave a legacy to my children, because when I had worked 13 years in Marketing and I do not have anything to leave them yet
  • carolmcwilliams
When asked to think about creating a legacy it stretches me to become a visionary, by expanding myself to really think much bigger than I have to this point. To look deep inside and tap into the feeling of what I can offer that will make a difference in others lives so they feel happier, healthier and with more joy in their hearts. Creating a legacy means that I am thinking of what I can do for others to enrich their lives. This feels wonderful.
  • beckydesabah
I think it is linked to our life purpose too. I want to be remembered as a caring, loving and guiding person who helped others to reach their dreams. I'll do my best to leave a better world to the generations to come.
  • theuns
    Hi Eric

Thanks I Agree If you did not leaf a legacy you did not live life to the full

    Regards
    Theuns
  • Marion
I have been thinking of this for a while - tied into my why.
I am looking foreward to hearing from the list of greats that you have for us this week.
  • Ngoc Tran
Thanks Eric for discussing on this interesting issue. I am aslo thinking about it for almost all the time. And to do that, I know I have to develop myself first. I see you as well as many millionaires are making a huge and precious legacy to help billions of people the way of creating their own lives. I am so appreciate about that!

I would like to make a difference in people's lives.
I would like people to remind me as a cheerful person who cared and helped many people from all ages, teach a vocational guidence, be a couch, so people can find their own talents and do the best with them.
I'm pretty sure I would like to leave a legacy but for that I need to continue editing my life.

Thanks for making us think about this hard topic Eric =S
    Hugs from Mexico =o)

  • For my legacy I wish to be known as someone who lived his life with purpose and gusto, free from the preconceptions of the herd, and showed others to do the same.
  • coltsco
A great thought provoking question. I know some of the things, but I'm going to give it a lot of thought through this week to truly cement it.
  • daddykekere
to be known as godly man who added value to the lives of many.
  • A legacy of inspiring greatness in others!
  • Great video Eric as always... I am part of Jim Rohn's 1 year program and he asks the same question.. That question really made me think for a long time.. I want to be remembered for so many things but I have 1 main goal to be remembered for... It will be for changing as many lives as God puts in my path!
  • tambry
Thank you for making us think about leaving a legacy. Probably not thought of much but we can tell others that this is something that you can achieve in this industry if you go the mile.
  • mrmauriocrawford
Seriously thought provoking! I want to be remembered as a man that gave of himself in every aspect of his life. I'm starting with giving myself & my family the lifestyle & time freedom that will free us and allow us to do more of what's important in life.

Love the location also, Eric. Great job bruh.
  • rmonte
Your constant sharing helps me stay focused on my dreams and goals. I truly want to be an example to my children first of all on living a life that blesses many others and living a life with purpose. I believe that is the best inheritance I can leave them. We have the vehicle to do it in this industry.

  • Thanks Eric for putting the thoughts of our legacy into our minds. This is something that I have been thinking about a lot lately. One exercise that I have found good to do is to write your eulogy. This brings focus and vision to what you want to be know and remembered for when you leave this life and allow you to create it into reality in all that we do. Thanks again. I look forward to the amazing videos for this week.
    Make it a great day!
    God Bless,

It is a great honor for me to be, as i type this, with you at San Francisco hearing amazing things.
We surely have a better way!
    Thanks.
  • Jim Rohn was an amazing man! If I can leave 10% the legacy Jim did, I will have lived a very successful life!

I believe we each have to define and develop our purposes in life and out of those will come our legacies. Building my NM business is just one of my purposes, and it ties in well with another purpose that is important to me: to serve others. This will be one of the legacies that I am remembered for.
  • All of these questions are good, I will have to sit down and think about it..............
  • dterrell
I want to contribute to the lives of others by mentoring and training them to be a success and being a philanthropist.
  • dstfa96
I agree with you 100% that in our profession of network marketing we have the opportunity to really make a difference in the lives of many people...the more people we share our opportunity with the more people we can help improve their financial situation and live the lifestyle of their dreams....Thx Eric for bringing up the topic of legacy....that is definitely some food for thought...I want to help as many people as I can to live the lifestyle of their dreams...whatever it is that means to them...so thats the impact that I want to have on those people that are willing to do what it takes to achieve their dreams.
  • Irina
I have to think about all these questions...
  • Eric, I was taught to write out my WHY for my business. My family is most important to me, so my why is about my family more than anything else. I want to pass along all the good things I've been taught so that they can become part of a better world. The last part of my written WHY is this: I will leave a legacy to my children and grandchildren of Wealth, Health, Spiritual Living, Social Consciousness and Charitable Giving. This I believe will be our families part of helping to change the world.
  • That's amazing Mike! Thanks for sharing with us all.
  • racingworm
I think you have to be a legacy to yourself before you can think of being a legacy for anyone else. Do the best that you can do and try to teach others to do the same. Help yourself so that you can help others. Be a legacy to yourself so that when you do go home people will know you were there for them by being able to help them also.
  • highimpact0406
What a great question to ask yourself...what legacy am I going to leave behind? I think we need to stop and ask ourselves that question from time to time, and bring some perspective into network marketing as a personal business. Sometimes, I get discouraged and forget what I am really in this business for. Thanks for the reminder Eric.
  • Network marketing is such a challenging undertaking and currently, it feels like I'm getting hit from all angles!!! But I shall overcome. My legacy when I emerge victorious from all my trials is the fact that I persisted and remained humble despite all the land mines on my path.
  • Hey James. Keep looking up! You can do it... We all believe in you and know that you will rise victoriously on the other side! See you at the top. Make it a great day!
    God Bless,

  • Thanks so much for the vote of confidence, Ed!
  • mspaulamc
I strive so that my legacy might be that through my example and my words, others would come to understand and then apply the life changing principles that Jim Rohn taught me. Paying it forward in an authentic and powerful way .. MLM .. the BEST profession in the world!
  • jlconner
We must think about our legacy because we build it every day whether we know it or not. What we do every day builds on our legacy. Do we want a positive legacy or something else? Each of us must think each day what we would like people to see in us. Wonderful idea today. We must remind our selves each day what kind of legacy we want to leave and work each day to achieve the legacy we desire.
  • genegrass
We often are consumed by our daily lives as well as out near and long term goals. Yet... It all begins with keeping the end in mind. Find your passion. Pursue it undaunted. Think of what you are building for your family, others, and for yourself. We will each be remembered for what we did with the "Dash" time between the years on our grave stone.

Thank you, Eric for keeping us grounded with the perspective of the legacy we are creating.
  • quintaser
Tough question becouse it´s esay to write many things, but you must have the consistency to work each and every day, if not every minute to build a legacy. Of course I want to become a MLM legend, a super star but, more than that, I want to be remembered as a good father and husband first, then as a good mentor and a good friend. I think that I must re set my goals and dreams, and before any thing material I am going to set those points from above.

From Puebla Mexico, I am Sergio Quintana, MLM Pro.
  • latachia_2
What kind of an impression are you going to have on others& what are you going to be leaving behind? What kind of impact are you going to be having on others? Wow! Some very good quetions to be thinking about.
  • jennyc

Jim Rohn was the best that i ever heard...i will always listen to his teachings and will keep him in my heart.
  • Thanks Eric, This is a great way to hold myself accountable each step of the journey while building the business.
  • I totally agree. Thanks for sharing with us.
  • Tarashon Broomes
its all about what you do now that will determine what kind of legacy you will have
  • georgeman
Great thought Eric. It's funny to me that a person wouldn't even mention building a legacy if it wasn't an attainable thing. It is very doable and possible in our industry. Thanks for the insight!
  • Jim Rohn is the best and his legacy will go on forever!
  • I am working on helping people in my organization grow.
My contribution in their professional and personal growth is my legacy I am proud of.
  • artdlasvegas
My legacy..........great point to ponder. Thanks Eric!
  • Looking forward to hearing from some of the greats!
  • janetrajala
Jim Rohn was quite the man, and a good roll model to follow. Having just been introduced to him not too long ago, I'm ordering as many tapes as possible to make my car my university. Jim has left quite a legacy.
  • kgoren
A great thing to ponder over the next week. Something I try to think about at the beginning of every year....to be a better friend, mother, wife or daughter. A fabulous exercise for us all to be thinking about what we want our legacy to be, and to move in that direction to make our lives better than they are.
  • As a legacy I would like to build a networkmarketing fortune that can give my children and even the next generation enough money to secure their future. I want to help many of my Team-members to grow as individuals and even reach the level of economic success they want. One of my 10 year goals is to donate a large amount of money to help children and teen-agers in my region to get better psycological help more quickly.

Donald Miller's "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years" has my complete attention. Reading it in record time. Jim Rohn will be next my friends. I would like to make a good difference in the world. Show the world it's better to make an effort to understand others than needing to be understood.
Hope everyone had a good chocolate day yesterday.
  • drmikempa
That in the end, it is what your friends and family think!
  • pollyhulseman
Legacy - it is important - I know I want to make a difference and this is something that is a constant on my mind. The difference can be small or big, but I know that I want to touch people's lives.
  • eabus
    My legacy....
    Something to ponder!
  • I think if you just help one person to live life, instead of just existing, then you have done a great job!
  • My wish is to be a lover of life, someone who takes risks, learnt, evolved and manifested the life of his dreams. And someone who inspired hundreds of others to do the same. A deep lover and wise of the truth. A sage.

    NOTES:
What is my legacy? What do I want to let behind and be known as? What will people say about me in my memorial service?
  • Great video Eric! Jim Rohn has touched my life as well and he will be missed! I love the idea about setting a legacy because this business is all about helping people grow! Thank you for all you do!
  • turjcxg
You know, legacy isn't something I usually think about in the daily frenzy of life. I'll bet that's the case with most people. I think that as I build my business and my kids watch me learn, fall, get up etc. it's not just a legacy of money that I hope to leave behind but a legacy of work ethic and hope and belief that my kids can take with them.
  • Gakungu
I would like to be known for helping people change their lives. I would like to help them be successful. That is the most important thing as a leader in network marketing.
  • orlyalbo
You ask a great question that realy any one shuld ask him sellf. For me it's realy basic to light other people and let them find the beuty thay have inside.
  • Looking forward to this week's shows.
  • ybimbalanced
You are right, this industry gives all of us the opportunity to leave a meaningfull legacy. Again, it's just up to us to do it. Thanks Eric
  • Watched Darren Hardy's closing tribute to the great Jim Rohn, a man who most definitely left a legacy. I would like to think that what I do makes a difference in peoples lives. I think there is nothing better than being remembered as a person who has impacted some area of others lives.
  • BetterCoffee.dk
    Great topic to ponder!

I just want people to say about me that you could always count on me for help with anything.
Nobody would ever turn to me for help in vain.
  • Very thought provoking.
  • travelprohawaii
I believe that the legacy is important too. I remember a training where my mentor told me what would you like to see when people come to your funeral. I never did take heed to it because I was very young but I now see it in a different light! Thanks Eric. I too want to be a network marketing professional and help hundreds if not millions of people!
  • I think there's a lot of "I'd like to leave the World a better place" in many people. But their lives don't seem to offer them a good opportunity to accomplish that. So it's cool that NM can be an answer for such people.

Boy, have I got a tagline for today's subject!
"Let us endeavor so to live that when we come to die
even the undertaker will be sorry." -- Mark Twain
  • patrickmcfeely
I hope my Legacy would be, that people would say Patrick was a great guy he helped me have a betterlife.

    Very thoughtful! Thank you Eric

This will take some serious thought. I know what I'd like it to be.
  • I only met him once, at an event with 30,000 people. words cant describe the impact he has had and will continue to have on people even after he's gone.
  • hpena
I once heard that Legacy is more important than Currency. It took me a while to understand that fully and now it's is the foundation of what we're doing in Network Marketing.

  • Jim Rohn changed my life with his teachings, and I'd like to do the same for many thousands of others in my lifetime. Through Network Marketing I know this goal can be accomplished.
  • The inner motivation and old-fashioned discipline that Jim Rohn neatly marketed as "philosophy" never cease to be inspirational for me. Thank you, Eric, for honoring him and us with the week you have planned.
  • carolbarrett
That's why I love this profession. We get to help others and grow ourselves in the process. What is my legacy? Wow, have to really think deeply on this one Eric. Thanks.
  • jpmendoza
I was at a memorial service for an elderly widowed friend of my parents & what was said by what looked like half of my home town was thought provoking. The love, the happy memories, the kindness that was extended to everyone by this wonderful lady was heart warming. Family members, old personal friends, her great-grand children's friends spoke of the kindness & the guidance she gave to them. This little old lady left a legacy with out ever leaving her home town. I wonder about my legacy, I still have time to work on myself & then I might inspire others.
  • gloriavintila
Deep motivational thinking. Fantastic introspection, thinking about what would be said at my memorial. I think I cannot come up with anything else that expresses my thoughts better than by paraphrasing Justin S King: may the legacy of those I help be greater than my own.
  • For many, leaving a legacy is the passion driving them to success. As parents we always want something better for our children, it may not be the subject of money, but setting the example of getting more out of life.
  • May the legacy of those I touch be greater than my own.
  • grantkhary
He was and will continue to be 1 of my mentors!
  • barryburgin77
Thanks, Eric. My hope would be that 100 years from now, my great great grandchildren will keep the old man in mind when they get their monthly check!
  • jacob stiner
Hey Eric, I expect to hear from members what legacy left by Gim Ron
  • I heard it said that those that sit in the front at a funeral are the loved ones. Those that sit in the back are a touch above aquaintences. The ones in front remember the knew the inner beauty of the deceased. The ones in back tend to look at the faults and shortcomings of the departed. I often tell people that every meeting is an opportunity. An oppotunity to connect and perhaps offer a way to make life simpler and happier for each other. The legacy I am hoping to leave would be one that I helped others life a touch simpler and made them smile. But in order for this to happen for anyone, reach out and develop relationships so that there are more people trying to sit in front at the funeral rather then in back.
  • Ellis3
My legacy will be that not only did I help tons of people retire or become financially independent, but that I taught my immediate and extended family that THIS was the way we were supposed to live and it was embedded into the culture of our family.
  • gmeyerson
Great topic and very thought provoking
  • quincy
Jim Rohn has left a remarkable legacy. Who knows the countless thousands he has helped. I just want to have a portion of that effect on people. For someone to say that I actually played a part in changing their life for the better. I want people to say that it was a pleasure just knowing me.
  • Personal development is huge to succeed in our industry. Thanks for asking the tough question Eric. I think this will have a lot of people, including myself, really thinking.
  • anthonyviglietta
Incidentally, I was at a memorial service for a colleague this morning. I was thinking what will people say about me when I leave this world. Jim Rohn was an incredible man. The little farmboy from Idaho who made it big.
  • Great topic Eric! Leaving a legacy has always been one of my "whys" when building my network marketing business. If you ever study all the wealthy people in the world, you will find out at one time in their family history they weren't wealthy. Until someone in their family step up,and totally changed their families legacy! That's why I fell, just like in the movie "The Matrix" I am the "chosen one" that crosses over the line and lead my family out of mediocrity. I know through this awesome industry, that by helping people, and recognizing the greatness within them, that I will do just that!
  • nickgarrison
My wife is really helping me with my legacy. We are starting to take more pictures of each other for our children. I am starting to journal to leave something for my children to read and I am working on personal development. Network marketing is the only industry I have been involved in that focuses so much on personal development. I love it.
  • Mailen
Not an easy question to answer. So I have to do some thinking . . .
  • MarvinTowler
(n.) A gift of property by will, esp. of money or personal property; a bequest. Also Fig.; as, a legacy of dishonor or disease.
(n.) A business with which one is intrusted by another; a commission; -- obsolete, except in the phrases last legacy, dying legacy, and the like.

These definitions that I found online do a disservice to the meaning and importance of what you are talking about this week. I look forward to this discussion. Thanks Eric
  • SJ Doug
Jim Rohn has had a major influence on me. His material out to be mandatory in the public School system!
He was a great man and I am so thankful that I got to hear him speak in person.
He got me to think about life in ways I would never have dreamed of and as a result will have played a part in my own legacy.
  • Love the way Eric ties in legacy with Jim Rohn. Not sure many of us will ever reach Rohn's stature, but we can make an impact in our own way, in our own circles....and that's what matters!
  • christinaglazar
Actually recently I was thinking a lot about my legacy - because I don't have children .... ! Thanks for giving me more to think about with your clip today!!!
  • hanneretvik
I must admit that I ave not given this topic enough thought. But I am going to this week! It will certainly be interesting.
  • drpricedc
Everything that we do in business should be about what we can do to improve the lives of others. Building a legacy depends on how much of a service life that you can lead!
  • I agree...I believe we are all on this earth to help others and lift them up in some way!
  • ulla99
Interesting... I have not thought it that way, thanks
  • brigittapatel
Never thought too much about legacy...the book "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years'
    changed that.. I am thinking.

    Thanks a million.
  • Network Marketing gives everyone and anyone the opportunity to start over now and create their own legacy no matter where life has taken them. You can't change the past but today is a clean slate. Make the best of it!
  • martinvf
We all are building our Legacy right now... at every moment. Good or bad.
Our legacy may help others or may not.
The more we do, the more legacy we build.
The more love we put to the things we do, the better legacy we build... in my opinion.

    Saludos from Aguascalientes, Mexico.
  • marvalouslife1
Legacy! this is what i wanted to have. i wanted to make a difference. MLM or networkmarketing, are the only way for me to do it.
if you decide to become a leader, you will create a legacy.

    Thanks Eric.

definitely something to ponder... looking forward to this weeks program.
  • I would love to be remembered as someone who reminded others of the magic and wonder of this amazing life, not by hitting anyone over the head, but by being amazed at the world and our planet and succeeding beyond anyone's wildest dreams!
  • gkamlm
Great point, I am looking forward to building a good one, as I have in my previous business and volunteer effort.
  • Tina Perdue
I really will be thinking about that. I know what I want as a legacy for my family..but others...well. I will thinking about it.
  • Katie N
Legacy-this is definetely something to ponder. We often leaves marks on the world that we were unaware of.
  • Like many others, I get caught up in the daily routine. I've thought about my legacy, but it is difficult so I tend to move around it....something I need to put on the top of my list. By joining NWM, I've started toward my legacy and will be able to leave/will my family my successful NWM business. I also want to be know as someone who helps others and I am/will be able to do that through NWM.
  • agelfederico
I want to be known for being the best teacher, mentor, and role model, thus, giving as many people as possile freedom in whatever way they may desire. I know I still need to go deeper on this answer, but this is the general idea, and a start.

Wow, I didn't know Jim Rohn passed! I just bought "Building Your Network Marketing Business." Love it.

This cd by Jim Rohn is so powerful! I love it too! A great cd to expose your people too!
  • chriskemp817
Excellent message. I have been thinking about this topic for quite a while now. You want to leave a legacy that shows you made a difference in others.
  • Very good message. You are a great example of what kind of legacy can be left behind. Master trainer and mentor! YOU ARE, YOU KNOW!
  • jbledsoejr
Interesting...this is something I've been thinking about for the past week or so...again a timely message. Thanks Eric!

As someone who made true his dreams and that of others...
  • My legacy will be a reflection of my life mission and vision which is to continually reveal the intelligence which produces the fastest, most durable, and richly rewarding jumps in raising life's quality and inter and intra personal fulfillment for over 100 million people all over the world drived by my most pure and succulent inner selfishness while i'm still alive on this earth... but shhtt... don't tell anyone about it, ok? This is just between us champions.

To be remembered as a giver not a taker.
  • MattinJaxfl
What do I want to be known for? Never settling for mediocrity. Always striving to improve. How much do I want to contribute? Will have to ponder this for a while. I want to inspire my family and friends to go after their dreams and stop limiting themselves.
  • krisic
Wow! I guess I never looked at it from this point before. My intention has always been to better provide for my family, and help others to do the same. For us to gain control of our lives and have FREEDOM. My most important thing I want to be remembered for is being a great mom. And working on personal developement is helping with all of the above things.
  • mariasiro
Yes Eric, thats important to really think about!

QOTD: I want to be known for the way I helped others reach and surpass their (wildest) expectations.
    greetings from Flanders/ Belgium.
  • hlj521
Wow. I get so caught up in the daily duties of raising children and striving to be a good follower of Jesus, being a good wife, mother, daughter grand-daughter, a professional networker, a good friend etc, that I really haven't thought so much about my Legacy.

Looks like I have some work to do.
  • Ehmm! Definitely need to meditate further on this this week.

Part of my legacy is that I was able to givemy daughters the best start they could have had in life and to be privileged to see their success and happiness.

MY business legacy is that through Network marketing and my products that I can help bring together hands across the globe and show them how to have better Health and Wealth to live ON PURPOSE, and the share with their family and friends their vision for the future.
  • KeithN
It's important that I always uplift and add increase to others. Do no harm, and do the right thing.
  • I support a world that works for everyone, with no one left out. Each individual will define ‘what works’ for themselves. All too often it seems I have to choose between two seemingly mutually exclusive poles in the matter. That kind of voting will never work, has never worked. Each person is sovereign unto themselves or they are slaves to someone or something.

It makes a huge difference in my life when I am able to contribute to someone else. However, not everyone is interested or open to being contributed to and who am I to say they need contribution? There is another group where the more you contribute the more is required and nothing appears to make a difference AND there is no reciprocity. Therefore I am for reciprocal contribution. It can even be 10 in for one out but no black holes.
  • margarethockaday
Like all others I think about my legacy. What will I leave behind. The best would be residual income instead of residual debt. Want my family to remember me as leaving my family in great hands with generational wealth.
  • gabisahar
    Dear Eric,
    This is so powerfull!
Yes, what is my legacy? what am I going to leave behind? What are they going to say in my memorial?
Thank you for your daily commitment to us.
  • soxfan071
Years ago I would have had a different thought on this. I know now that if I trust God, clean house and help others, all will be fine. I hope people are able to feel beter for having known me.
  • Lisette
My time on this planet is short, very short.
So,I hope I will be remembered as a person who lived MY life.
    I don´t get a second chance.
  • How awesome is it to be in an industry where we all have the opportunity to leave a legacy of helping other people. Thanks Eric. "The greatest legacy is that which benefits the widest number of people for the longest period without limit to value".
  • I think about my legacy all the time. I am so proud to be a part of this industry and doing something about it now. I look forward to hearing from all those that you mentioned! They are the icons in this industry.
  • Bernadette
What I love about the network marketing opportunity is that you can not be successful without helping others.
  • I think legacy could be a great motivating factor in doing the business, I know it is for me. But legacy can mean different things for different people. Legacy could be a college fund for your kids; a dream vacation for your wife or family that will be remembered for a lifetime; maybe it's creating a charity; or supporting an existing one; or maybe it's helping to improve the life of one single individual. Because who knows how that person's life will change the life of others. It doesn’t necessarily mean making a million dollars. Like throwing a pebble into a pond...
  • Hmmm...Great thought to ponder. As I struggle with my teenage daughter I will think about this. We all want our children to grow up to be great people...First we must lead by example!

My hope and dream is to live...love...leave a legacy.
  • Leaving a legacy - when do you start thinking about that? Is that part of the 'what's the meaning of life' question? As we get older and wiser it's only natural to start looking back to see what impact you have made on the world around you. For some of us, it's like we never existed. For others, you can see definite impact on those lives you have touched.

The questions you asked of us today, Eric, are the kind that make you stop and really think. What am I doing today that will have a positive impact on those lives I am involved with? Am I giving and contributing to the relationships that are important to me, or am I taking? A net plus, or a net minus? The people with strong legacies (like Jim Rohn) are those people that have given freely to this world and the world is a better place because of them.

The challenge to all of us is to consider what do we want to be known for, and to include those thoughts into our life's vision. Thanks Eric!
  • Erik
Yes, this is extremely important :) Think abouth the names Big Al, Tim Sales, John Fogg and offcourse Jim Rohn and more have created for themselves. But your name can be destroyed in 5 mins, this is why you allways must do whats best for your organization, your customers, and never talk badly abouth other companies :)
  • Hmmm. Yes, something to consider.
  • bethascoli
These are some very powerful questions. I definitely want to be known for helping a lot of people. I can't wait to hear the rest of what is coming this week.

Good luck with the event today Eric - I wish I was there!

This is a topic to think about and mediate on.

The essence of our business/industry is the betterment of those who choose to live life with options of excellence.....when you embrace that concept and know that that may represent an extra 500/mo to a household or 500K/mo the point is the same....you have touched people in such a positive way and their life is forever changed...what better legacy
  • yuvalcohen
    Thanks Eric
You gave an important point to think
  • Hans
Legacy position....I will do my thinking on that issue this week....
  • Jillian
This is an interesting question. It reminds me of the eulogy at my dad's Memorial service. It was sparked by a poem called The Dash. It refers to that all important - dash - on the tombstone. It's a minute symbol between the birth and death of an individual that defines your life and represents your time on earth. What have you contributed to that little line ... guess we don't think about it enough.

This is, indeed, a very special topic. Coming to NWM pretty late in life and having a lifetime of experience to draw from, I can attest to what you are saying and teaching here Eric.

These are important considerations and Jim Rohn, for one, remains one of my main mentors. I listen to him most days.

NWM will be a vehicle I will love to climb aboard every day and if only I can be proud of my legacy then my life will have changed for the good. And now I converting my vision for my future to help build my present.

It is journey I am loving. My story grows each day. God rest Jim Rohn - yet he is still with us. Thanks again Eric.

Hola Eric, beautiful view from SF. I think it´s very important to us to give a legacy to the people, I´ts a mission and we need to help people to have a better way.
    Saludos.Daniel y Natali,Querétaro,México.
  • Not only do I want to leave a legacy for my children, but I want people to remember me as a person that lived to help others. I see so many people struggle and to see them change their lives because I could help them is probably the most rewarding thing to experience. No matter how big or small, everyone has a desire in life to be something. They just need the encouragement, support, and personal development training from other people sometimes to get there.

Legacy is a prime driver for many people. I want to be know as a person who supports and works to help others achieve their personal best.
  • WoW! This come on time. This is what I have been telling some of my friends... Things really do happen for a purpose. And your message today had double assure me of my path ahead! Thanks Eric.
  • carybennett
Great thought, I think thats why i am on such a mission to grow personally to be able to pass that on and inspire many others. Thanks again Eric
  • Hi Eric! I just started in Network Marketing 2,5 months ago.. And for the first time in my life, I feel that I will have a great legacy to leave behind. It feels great and Network Marketing is my new life - It's so exciting and I just simply love it! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! / Linda, Sweden

The reason I feel that I have been making changes in my thinking and way of life is because I want to leave a legacy to my family and others. I want my being here on this earth to benefit others.
  • keithraines
I wish for my legacy to be writtenin one word.....Others

Do unto others as I would have them do unto me. Serve
  • This was a nice post. When you start your business, you normally don't think about creating a legacy.
You have some reason/dream you will achieve.
As you grew your business, and you have a impact in peoples lives, you also more understand, that it really is some kind of legacy you build.
I just want to be remembered for being honest, having a sincere interest in helping others to grew as people and to gain big revenue financial in our industry. To have friends to visit around the globe....
  • Very, very true. I wonder how many people seriously think about this. I do believe, though, that until someone realizes that network marketing is not about them, but rather, is about others, then that person won't grasp the concept of legacy.
  • rayrios
Thanks for the refresher & reminder as to; Not what we achieve, but who and how many, we affect in our journey.
  • I am a firm believer that if I live my life the right way, sharing my success and helping others find happiness and success, the rest will take care of itself. I can only control what I do. What others will say about me when I am gone will take care of it's self. I then will let God be my judge.

I think NM is an amazing business because you get to talk to people all of the time, your prospects, your team members, people you really care about. You change as a person as you move along your personal development journey. You work this business hard and you will become leaders. Leaders help, leaders coach, leaders mentor, leaders lead, (from the front), leaders leave a legacy.

I believe we are here for a reason and we have to give back and help people who are disadvantaged. The more your business grows the more you earn and therefore the more we can give back.

Your mindset of wanting to leave the right legacy will propel you to success in this business.

    This is an awesome business

    Very kind regards
    Peter Ragg
  • I think the people that are attracted to NWM are special people in that they want to part of something bigger than themselves.

I know for me I want it and I want to do bigger things with it.
  • jerryscribner
I will be known as a follower of Christ, a great husband and father. In business I will be known as a great coach and mentor.
  • eddyoshaughnessy
It would be great to be remembered as someone who made a difference in peoples lives
  • billrogers
Great topic! I was fortunate enough to have a mentor three years ago isntill in me the importance of legacy and just recently in Darren Hardy's Life changing process of goal setting he has us working on it as well. I am working on being known as a giver and not a taker.
  • I want to be known for making the world a better place by my being here. I am always asking myself how I can help others improve their lives and get what they want in life ... that is my passion. As long as I focus on giving, my own circumstances take care of themselves.

    Best to you,
    Scott

How true - 'Oh what a gift the giftie would give us - to see ourselves as others see us!' I have always lived by this maxim and you will be amazed if you do the same, how it not only makes you monitor your behaviour but also to think very carefully about how you think, speak, and react to others!
  • CINDYSU
I want to be known as a good friend who could always be counted on, and a source of love and support. I know that sounds kind of mushy but I'm being honest!
  • Steve_Nelson
This sounds like a highlight week of episodes coming up!

I don't have a vivid picture in my mind yet of what I want my legacy to be, so this seems like a perfect week to form that.
  • Nancy Eldred
I never thought of my own legacy in regards to the one area in my life - that being - Network Marketing -
You really know how to put this industry into perspective.
  • I would like to be know for giving to others. And not just for money, but time, energy, mentoring, and many other things. I watch people here in my home town when they past away, how many people come to their service. You can tell how much they touched people lives. When its my time, will it be full or will it be ?
  • garyparmenter
It is hard to evalate your own legacy. Looking forward to this weeks interviews.
  • I always think about how I’m building my story, more along the lines of how I’ll use my story to make a difference in the lives of others with my time here on earth but I like the point you raise about Legacy. It will be what I’m known for/as when I'm gone, it’s bigger than story and can give more drive to my days.

Really looking forward to the videos from the Jim Rohn Memorial
  • Denise Cox
