I agree with you Connie. I too was in that situation and took early retirement to focus on what I love to do. It's made me step out of my comfort zone so many times, I have developed new ones. I'm definitely a better person for it. Thanks for your post. When you hear so much about "keep your job", it's encouraging to hear from someone who also took that leaf of faith.

Interesting that the workplace is the most dangerous place to be, but some of the masses are still looking at the job as a safe haven. They need to get up and re-educate themselves.

The workplace is the scariest places on earth! I can't agree more. Even those of us who have professional jobs (Nurses, Doctors, Lawyers, etc) still have to stay on edge and watch our backs. Mr. Mackay has inspired me to intentionally give back more. More of myself. Doing for others. I respect his philosiphies. The right books have to power to change people more than people themselves. His story about the kid and the banker is proof. GREAT stuff.

Yes, most of us are part-time and still "networking" inside our companys and our present market fighting every day to get a next great step in our carreer. I love network market buy I still lovin my job, I still thinking I have a mission to acomplish before I leave, and becoming a network marketing professional has let me increase my skills so after a year in this business I'm in the possibility to get a better job (Probably the last job before I become full time NWMP next years) . Of course, I want independence, and I will be, but right now I still having fun in my job, I still meeting people and I still learning so much. I think the best of our situation is that Im not scare anymore about the idea of losing my job, so, when this fear dissappear, I am performing better than others who are scare to take big decision because their are "protecting" their jobs. And meanwhile they play "safe", they are really putting in risk their entire life, of course, I trying to teach them that WE HAVE A BETTER WAY, I hope some day get it.

Once more, thank you both for your inspiration. This afternoon I had the honor of meeting Harvey at Borders Bookstore in the Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix, AZ. Harvey signed a copy of his book for me, talked to me about our mutual Alma mater the University of Minnesota, and my wife and I had our picture taken with him, what a wonderful experience. Harvey is a true gentleman and someone we all can learn from to lift all those we meet up to their potential.

Eric, Great interview with Mr. Mackay. Someone outside of Network Marketing can still give great insight into how to network with others and market yourself in a positive manner. Also a wonderful lesson in giving of yourself. Not just money but time. Overall I see a better way to create "my story" for the balance of my time on earth. You can get tremendous satisfaction out of helping others succeed. Just applied the principle today of what can I do for you and it resulted in a positive outcome of a sales meeting. Help others get what they want and you will reach your own goals by default. Listen to what is being shared and taught on these videos, it works.

Great point about keeping your regular job for income until you have a full time income in network marketing. I think this is one of the mistakes that too many people make.

so many people think they can stumble into network marketing and make it big without developing the skills, I love how you talk and teach developing the skills to build it! great interview!

I agree with the fact that one should not dive directly into full-time network marketing and quitting their job before they've secured their income from network marketing. But doing it part-time should not affect he professionalism with which we practice our profession.

I have enjoyed, ytilized and Revered Mr Mackay's work for years. I've tried to use his concepts to build my center of influence, as he has one of the best protocols for doing so that I've ever seen. I am a Full Time Network marketer and haven't worked for someone else for several years, however I am buying his book anyway for the networking info in it.. Harvey is a hero and mentor to many, I'm a new student. Eric, I must say, Harvey knows a ton of people but you do as well. These interviews that you have are awesome and it's great to see the types of friendships that you have with these people. I have not had a job or worked for anyone but me for over 5 years. AND most people I talk with daily are stuck in a job mindset. The 'system' has done a great job of developing dependency muscles ignoring, allowing atrophy of the independent muscle. The book will provide another edge in offering people a way out of their tiny little box.
