I was listening to a speaker once telling us how to give speeches. He said we could give a talk from three different perspectives. 1. As a reporter. We are not the expert. We know little. We are simply reporting on what someone else knows. 2. As a student. We are not the expert. We know some. We are telling what we are learning. 3. As the expert.

When I learn to tell my story as good as Les Brown, I'll have it made.
  • yitz613
Learn how to tell and give over our story. Help them leave their story and be open to the possibility of creating a new story for themselves. This post is excellent.
  • heatherbrocklehurst
Les Brown is a master. I was hanging on every word. Great lessons. I can hardly wait to get to the next segment.
  • JenniferDu79
I love what he said about you having to create the experience when talking to someone to make them answer the questions positively. Those two questions are great, can i do this and is it worth it!
  • till catching up....going to skip ahead to the Complete & Unedited version....but wanted to make sure my comment was counted! ;-)
  • tommycone
    # 252 - You must have a story and learn to share it. I have losts of work to do.
  • Great interview, learned a lot again.
  • AdvocareJax
Les shared a lot of value on how and why to tell your story.
  • keithanthony
I spoke once on the telephone with Les Brown when he was on his way into a radio show with Tommy Vu a tremendous surprise and great privilege for me, he even knew who I was, however I think its important to end each day by saying, "Did I live, did I love, did I matter?"
  • Ngoc Tran
This message is so precious to me. Who are you? What do you have? And why should I care bring me to the bright of mind and heart. Thank you, Les!
  • Lotta
    Thanke you
  • happyhealthybob
People fear change, but Les is right, make them thirsty for it.
  • Donna Wheaton
You have to be HUNGRY! in this industry to make your dreams a reality. Thank you!
  • I have a hint we're just getting started. There's a feeling of growing emotion going through this piece of the interview.

"You gotta have a story and learn to tell it strategically"

    NOTES:
How to speak, how to communicate.
What are the common attributes you see in those who are superstars? They tell their own story and have the abilty to create value for the audience. It can be one on one, small groups, on the telephone...
Who are you? What do you have? Why should I care?
Strategically tell the story and create an experience with the person.
Giving out a lot of information (facts) - Can I do it? Is it worth it?
"I can do this" "This is worth it"
It's not about the information - Create an experience for people to get motivated to bring out the best in them.
Creating a community of achievers. Each time it has to be fresh and people have to leave feeling better with themselves.
As an entrepeneur, I have to tell my story strategically. You got to be hungry!!!
The 40/40 plan is gone. You have a shot to control your own future.
  • meagankellytorres
Tell your story and transfer your belief. Help people believe in themselves and believe that it's possible for them and that it's worth it. I think that's why testimonials after briefings are so critical, because people can put themselves in the person's position and believe they can do it too.
  • Tony
Great idea to Create an Experience like this. It gives people a feeling instead of just information.
  • feltricks
Share your experience, that is powerful.
Also the 5 questions he mentioned.
    Who you are?
    What do you have?
    Why should I care?
    Can I do it?
    Is it worth for me?
Also great story at the end, so powerful.
    Thanks a lot.
  • Inger
    People can relate to stories...
  • Bea Resnick
I loved Les's idea about creating an "experience" for people instead of just giving them information. "If information could change people, everyone would be skinny, rich and happy!" I also liked his take on what people are asking - Can I do it? Is it worth it?
  • jeanalbert
Great information! Thanks Les for clearing up what the real questions are that are floating through our prospects minds. Knowing these questions could help us prepare the story we choose to tell and how we strategically tell it.
  • robbinsaturniewicz
helpful info knowing what the questions are in the prospects mind.
  • ronaldvandomburg
    what's your story: that's a qey question
  • Thank you for bringing Les Brown to the table. His messages move from my head to my heart and power the motivation.
  • quintaser
    Crystal clear

" The secure jobs, do not exist any more". I've found a better way, (the best way), I will never give up on MLM. That's all.

From Puebla Mexico, I am Sergio Quintana, MLM Pro
  • Agneta Rebo
I agree! We have to get away from all the fact that we try to put inte people and tell more stories!
  • reeseypb
What is said is very true, the "story" is very important.
  • "Tell your story in a way that people see themselves in the story." That is good.
  • Vange01
Love the story, Les is Amazing!!!
  • Any time you are presenting , you should answer to three questions:
    1. Who are you?
    2. What you have?
    3. Why should I listen to you?
Everyone has a story and should tell that story to as many people as you can.
  • gkamlm
Interesting, everyone does have a story.
  • DianaValdez
Who are you? What do you have? Why should I care?
Can I do it? Is it worth it? Having this prepared beforehand would make a big difference at the time of the presentation.
  • cmattern
I am soooo glad you ran into Les Brown! Awesome interview, and it has me fired up! Love the way he said to create an experience, so people see themselves in the story (kind of like John Milton Fogg not giving names in the 'Greatest Networker'). Thank you Les Brown. Can't wait to watch the rest of the interviews with you!
  • mspaulamc
ANY TIME I can listen to Les Brown .... I am all in!

The best results I get are always in "story telling" .. now I know why!!!

New faves on NMPro .. I already have so many!!!!

  • Melli
Again it woke ´s me up. So great.
  • My story needs help. thanks for the great information!
  • julie67
Who am I, What have I got, and Why should I care? Very simple and very powerful!
  • Jessi
    Thank you for the story!
  • Pepeneto
Tell your story because people have three questions: Who are you? What do you have? What should I care? Next questions:Can I doit? It worth it? So dont give so many facts, they need to experiencie. The need to change, and nobody change with information. You are creating a community of achievers...great ideas...Thank you.
  • crwood1967
That stinks, my comments didn't show up. Les Brown is a great person. I met him when I was in my very first MLM company. He was very personable and seemed very interested in each one of us. Thanks for having him on.
  • fc34615
Love the part about not everybody in Network Marketing will get rich, but everybody has a chance to control their financial stability.
    Thanks, Eric.
    Fernando
  • kgadol
Who I am ... What I have and Why should they care. Can they do it and Should they do it. A community of achievers - love it. How hungry are you??? Everyone has a shot! I love it. Thank you.
  • jean_albert
Eric, Les Brown has been one of my most favorite author & speaker since the 1980's. His relatability is amazing, even when I hear the same information over & over. He leads by example: create your story, leave people feeling better about themselves, etc. Whether on book or tape(CDs), he's amazing! Thanks for having him on your website.
  • emmettb
What a start! The man who changes the work place will be let go...I'm working my way out.
  • timandtrcia
This is great stuff. Les Brown has so much to offer. If this first interview is any indication the rest of this series may prove to be the best yet.
  • bethascoli
So, we've learned by now the importance of storytelling, but this takes it a step further with "making the story an experience". Les Brown sure does have a way of drawing you into the story, he is remarkably well-spoken and a joy to listen to. Give me more!
  • jlt0wn
well spoken & easy to listen to
  • jlt0wn
create value(why should "I" care) - through honesty, strong belief in industry - with your story. Well said. I'm working on strenghening my story and dumping "facts".
  • Shovers
Yeah! Story info, how to share stories! Awesome just what I need. I love the questions I need to answer and will strive to tell stories that answer these!
  • pech
Believing and creating a connection from people to the business.
  • seija
    Working on my story
  • PaulineP
Love this. Here I am cold calling. I do know what I need to do. Listening to these messages is mental preparation for the day. I know my days are better when I listen and cold call, than when I miss these messsages and cold call.
  • Maxwellhealth
Creating a community of achievers does indeed take leadership......the first step is to wake the prospect from the slumber of apathy and complaceny or even for the matter victimhood by provideing "The Story" for self identification...afterall how in the world to people spend years of their life watching imaginary characters on "The Tube" and get emotionally involved with them....Soaps
  • randyhendrickson
I think at time we all look for reasons not to do something but when we look around us there are really no reasons why we can't
  • randyhendrickson
I do believe there is no job security
  • Les is a master at speaking!
  • keithraines
Network Marketing is a business of Story telling.
  • KeithN
Thank you Eric for providing us with an interview with the great Les Brown. Les has an uncanny wisdom regarding human nature and a remarkable story telling ability, allowing him to communicate with us on a unique emotional level.
  • highimpact0406
What a great interview, best one so far in my opinion. This guy is really good and I am so looking forward to listening to the other ones. I actually taped the last part of this segment on my phone so that I could listen to it again and again. Thanks so much.
  • Jose Lopez
Yes, we are in the story telling business ... what a great reminder!
  • onemartymac
Just a great Speaker, Provide Value and tell your story
  • Thanks Eric for your interview with Les Brown. He is one of my favorite speakers. I saw him for the first time at our Usana convention and I was blown away. I love what he says here about multi-level marketing and how you need to have a strategic story. I am really looking forward to watching the second video on Les Brown.
  • dstfa96
Les Brown is a phenomenal speaker...I loved when he was talking about when people leave our presence they must leave feeling better about themselves but talking about us and the role we are playing in their lives and how we are transforming their lives...that made me think that anytime I do a presentation for prospects I have to make sure that my focus is on making them feel better about themselves and ensuring them that I will play a role to help them tranform their lives, achieve financial freedom and live the lifestyle of their dreams.
  • socorro
absolutly amazing thanks, don't have story yet, working on it mean time I use somebody else
  • hpena
Tell the story to create an experience. That's what makes us the highest paid Story Tellers in the world.

    Sheer Magic!
  • Pete
My 1st time hearing Les, Wow!!!!!!!!!!
  • krisic
Oh man I'm gonna love this week! Yes everyone has a story, and sometimes using someone else's story will work best, depending on the person you are talking to. I love the three questions!
  • WOWOWOWOWWO I love this guy..he is able to make every word count..and tells the story so you can really get it! What a master..
  • I guess I have to work a little more on my story.....
a bit like the butterfly effect...
    including the FEEL, FEALT, FOUND....
  • Luis Gringras
    Les thanks, great leson:
    Story must have 3 parts:
    1) Who you are
    2) What do I have?
    3) Why should I Care?

2 Questions in the mind of the prospects:
    1) Can I do it?
    2) It is worth it?
  • veronikakari
I have to think myself a bit more about my story.
  • After losing a job that I thought I would be able to retire from.
Losing ALL my benefits, 401K etc
I now realize that there is no such thing as job security!
  • Wow.. So powerful! I can listen to Les all day and night! And when it comes to network marketing or anything in life, our story is everything!
  • beckydesabah
We must understand and appreciate the power of the right questions and a good story.
  • kristibateman
Great stuff. I know I will love this week also.
    Thank you Eric
  • barryburgin77
Everybody does have a story. I have heard that before and it rings true today.
  • jennyc
Wow! What a great story. Network Marketing is the only true job security.
  • Ellis3
THAT IS WHY I LOVE ERIC WORRE AND LES BROWN!!!!! I was sitting here watching that video thinking "I don't have a story" but right at the end, he showed me that I can tell this young man's story and make it!!!
  • germarl
    Brilliant !!
  • gloriavintila
Thinking from the prospect's perspective "What's in it for me?" is key.
  • Wow! I'm not too surprised about that young man's story because it is happening in alarming numbers. It's sad that it's such a dog eat dog world out there, but at least we have options. I am so thankful that we live in such a great country where this is free enterprise and anyone can change their life if they work hard at it. What a great story.
  • Great things to think about. Exactly what is running through peoples minds when they are in a presentation with you. Who is this person? What do they have? Why should I care? It all relates to how we need to think of others when interacting with people.
  • Can I get rich in NM? People work for forty years and traditional jobs. Then they come into NM and expect to get rich in 6 months. Not gonna happen. Les tells the story of how much his mother did for him, and how he decided that when he became a man he was going to take care of her. Then he asks, “Who would YOU like to do something special for?”

    the World's Thinnest Books:
    Everything Men Know about Women
  • Love the quote: Everybody won't get rich- BUT - You have a shot at it!!. Met and heard Les Brown last August and THAT in itself was one of my life long DREAMS. So yes Dreams do come true. It is true "one has to be HUNGRY".
  • Wow. Part one of the Les Brown interview contains gems.
Prospects want to know: Who are you? What do you have? Why should I care? Can I do it? Is it worth it?
If information could change people, everybody would be rich, slim, and happy. So it’s not about information. Create a community of achievers by telling a story that will make people WANT to become involved.
Job security? The story about the man who exceeded the goals the corporation had sent for him and then was fired because they didn’t need him any more is powerful.

    the World's Thinnest Books:
the Wild Years by Al Gore
  • "Not everybody will get rich but everybody gets a shot" that sets the scene of a pro. It shows us a better way to tell the world.
  • susanclark
#252 - Les Brown Interview - Part 1 of 4 - Whatever story you tell people, it has to create value for the people who are listening. Telling your story or someone else's story has to create an experience so that the story you are telling becomes their story. We are creating a community of achievers. Phenominal interview. Can't wait to hear the rest.
  • SJ Doug
    Who are you?
    What do you have?
    Why should I care?
After learning to invite this seems to be the next important step.
  • Terry Gracy
WOW . . . What an incredible interview. The two of you are incredible resources of knowledge and help for those of us out there that aspire to also do great things and help many other people, ourselves!
  • What a timely story, or was it that I was prepared and ready when this opportunity arose.
I was at the Gym last evening and ran into someone whom I had met 4 months ago. After asking him how things were going he advised that he had been terminated from a state job after 5 years working nights, and was now looking for a new job. I asked him about his dreams and goals and was able to share with him Les Browns story today about the young man that was able to quadruple the production and then was terminated due to the relocation of his employer. A very timely and appropriate story and one that helped this person relate to why multi level marketing might be a solution for him going forward. He is now a recruit in our pipeline.
  • Wow, I'm speechless, what a great interview. Les Brown's "story" made me a believer. Thank you for the advice and for the great example; inspiring.
  • hlj521
This is such powerful stuff!!! What a great message. I love the story!
  • mrmauriocrawford
"Everybody won't get rich, but everybody has a shot." I've never heard it said better than this. If we tell people this up front, & keep telling people this, we could help to get rid of the lottery mentality among alot of people who join Network Marketing w/ false expectations.

    LES IS GREAT!
  • Arnold Thompson
I can see why people love going to hear him speak, he just has a way to draw you in to what he's saying. I'm already in MLM and I wanted to get in again just because of the way he draws you in and gets you excited.
  • smreed
I am going to wear out the play button re-listening to this interview.....just fantastic!
  • Bryan_in_KC
Oh MAN! I just don't have words, this is such amazing stuff. This one will be part of my duplication arsenal!
  • coltsco
By giving us the three things people want to know through our stories is extremely helpful. That is something I'll always keep with me when meeting and talking to people.
  • agelfederico
Marvelousssssss, another new succesfull person I have meet because of Network Marketing PRO

    Thanks Eric
  • GERMAN JARAMILLO
Well...i'm going to build my history.

Also, i think the first part of this chapter when he talked about the belief is so important too. I think all starts with that.

    Have a great day,

    -GJ
  • queennaxen
Glad I'm watching this now and not yesterday; I've been listening to a man interview Les Brown all day yesterday, and I can appreciate him now.

"Who are you? What do you do? Why should I care?" Had to hear this 6 times for that to sink.

I love the story about that young man he met. This is also one of my favorite interviews so far. Les Brown is amazing, and I love having such a direct way to learn from him. Thank you Erric, and thank you Les Brown.
  • hcapcarp
There is great power in the presentation as well. This will require a great deal of practice
  • Every sentence is a gold nugget!

A master storyteller I aspire to be like.
  • tomlacey
Some great insight to the presentation and the prospects perspective.
  • Thanks for this....it's made me think again about my presentation.
  • mariasiro
    good interview again, thanks
  • jacob stiner
Hey Eric the most successful people in network marketing are storytellers and one of the important things is personal story of the product end of the business
  • carolmcwilliams
Great content. Wow!!!! Having a compelling story that people say I want to become involved in that. It takes a skill that all super successful people in this business have mastered. The power to draw people in with such a compelling story that they are left with a feeling that motivates them to want to improve their lives, to take a risk, to say I can do this.

Listened again and again to this master.
  • rosslopez
Woooow, what a great interview! =o)
There were so many questions I have never asked myself that people can think of when we are showing them the oportunity in MLM.
Who are you?, what do you have?, why should I care?... Can I do it? Is it worth it?

As Les Brown comments, we want the people to transform their lives, we want the people to dedicate time to work on this as we are right now. But in order to people see this business as an amazing opportunity, we need to tell our story as an experience in a way that people see themselves in the story, doing what we are doing.

Changing people current plans, the way the currently think about jobs, work, time, earning money, etc are not easy topics to discuss, but our story and our experience must be incredible so they can believe and follow the great ideas we have on mind.

Thanks for sharing all this Eric
    Hugs from Mexico
    Rossana =o)
  • irina
Who are you? What do you have? Why should I care? Can I do it? Is it worth it?
Les Brown is one of my favorite speakers! Great mind!
    I am taking notes!
I will watch it again and again!
    I love this interview!
    Thank you!
  • martinvf
These are excelent tips and tricks.
Most of the people in the first time they see the opportunity in MLM they forget about the details of the product/service and the compensation plan. But they go with the idea "This is big... how can I achieve it???"

    Saludos from Aguascalientes, México
  • juanfernandogutierrez
oh my God!! I was shocked; I saw Les Brown in the JR Memorial an like him; this is one of the best and simple interviews I have ever heard; please where I can find e-books of him, what is his web page!!!
    this two quotes:
they must be willing to die to who they are now to give birth to who they must become in order to be successful in this business

Tell the story in a way that people see themselves in the story... you have to be hungry

I am re-writing he story I use in my presentations!! I love MLM
  • tomdoiron
    Hey Eric,
When Mrs. Brown's twin baby boy speaks; I am in the front row. Could it be just that simple...to become a master story teller?
Thanks for your efforts to help us become "pro", Eric.

    Wishing You Plenty To Live,

  • drpricedc
I cannot wait til the next video!
  • Eric, I love the way Les speaks. He can drive home a point to where I not only hear it I feel it. I'm going to sit down and pencil out my story, get out the recorder and practice it until it has feeling. People deserve to know who we are, what we have and why they should care. By the way I received my Harvey MacKay book today. Amazon is fast.
  • tambry
It was funny how Les Brown commented about the fact that we are asking people to work from 5:00 until they faint.
  • Cee_G
You did it again Eric...another cliff hanger and another great speaker. Looking forward to more episodes with Les! Thank you!
  • Tarashon Broomes
one the key word that Les Brown said is "BELIEVE", you definitely have to believe in yourself, company & product if you want to be successful. tell your story so people can see them self in the story and create an experience with your prospect so they can also believe that they are capable of a running business as well. enjoyed Les Brown cant wait for part 2
  • Dee_Canada
He has such a great way of speaking. You just want to hear MORE!!
  • WOW! Play, rewind, play rewind.play
This is truely destined to be one of your signature classic interviews.
Tell the story strategically to create value for the audience and create an experience they relate to while answering their questions "Can I do it? and Is it worth it?". Who are you?// what do youhave?//Why should I care?.
Mastering this skill so that it is fresh everytime is why y'all get the big bucks.
    More....more.... more
  • The power of telling your story is the key to becoming a leader in anything you do.
Leaving people better then when they came to you is such an amazing gift to give to others.
Giving them value for their lives. I am so grateful for the Network Marketing profession and the fact that adding value into other peoples lives is the core of what it is all about.
Thanks again. We all Have to be HUNGRY Les!
    God Bless,
    -ed
  • nikigombis
I was asked once, what was different between me and some other successful people I knew. Actually, I couldn't think of much that I didn't control.
  • i have been practicing the art of story telling...
  • I have my story, but evidently I underestimated the value of it.
To make your story a strategic tool you have to engage emotions and to show the audience why they should care.
Amazing episode! Thank you Les and Eric.
  • karenandian
We all have a story within! The key is to tell it so that you answer the 3 questions, Who are you? What do I have to offer? and Why should I care?. Tell it with passion! Thank you Les Brown!
  • raybeattie
Tell the story.....Les Brown gets better with age.
  • brianhepner
Stories sell.... A skill I need work on. No better teacher than Les Brown.
  • latachia_2
Who are you? What do you have? Why do I care? Can I do it?Is it worth it?He saiys to answer those questions, you must stratigically tell good stories,to create experiance.Such as the one that he just told us about the guy more than doubling companies production& moving him to a location& then firing him, after they no longer had any more use for him.(Even though they promised him "job security)
  • HoracioMejia
Now I value more tha "This is a story telling business" sentence. I see also that becoming a Network Marketing Professional means not just telling your story, but telling your story so that the people hearing you will feel as part of that story. We have to become professional story tellers.
  • WOW Les Brown I can't wait to here the rest of this interview
Threw the company I am with I have a subscription to success magazine and I herd some of Les Browns story on the CD inside the mag He was great
    Thanks again Eric
  • Daniel Glez.Peña
Wow I see a lot of experience in this guy¡¡ Awesome. We are learning about my posture.
    Saludos.
    Daniel y Natali,Querétaro,México.
  • Robertdiggsjr
Wow, gotta work on my story!
  • Foord Yates
    There's power in those words!

    Foord Yates.
  • Tell your story and create value for your audience. Each of us has a story, but we don't think that anyone would be interested in hearing about it. The key to our telling the story is in answering the question about why should they care. The more we can involve our prospect into our experience the more successful we will be at influencing their life. Invite them to become a part of your community of achievers and show them that they can do it, and it will be worth it!

I could listen to Les Brown all day long. Thanks!
  • karivankleef
I can't wait to hear more tomorrow. I am working on my story and will make sure I am answering the questions.
  • This reminds me of what I heard early in the game... "facts tell, stories sell" :-)
I also heard another one... "motion creates emotion", but today... after listening to Les and reading Big Al's newsletter, I now believe "EMOTION creates motion"!
  • Lorraine
I am having a hard time developing my story. I guess I feel it is not worthy enough. Can't wait for tomorrow's segment.
  • Tell your story anyway :-)
You will get better each time you tell it
  • bartonmurray
wow, creating thirst- story strategic story creates experience
  • How many gems can you count in the first 8 minutes? I have to listen to this again and again to make sure I get them all. I love the saying "I can do this" How important this is, I just got it!! Thanks.
  • Les Brown is one of my favorites. "Who are you, what do you have and why should I care?" Good things to look at. Can I do this and is it worth it? Absolutely! Building your story is important! I'm still building mine and will always be.
  • Steve_Nelson
The 40/40 plan IS no more...what incredibly great news for all of us!! I like where this interview is going.
  • latachia_2
    What is the 40/40 plan?
  • Earl
Thanks! Eric. Mr. Les Brown tells great stories! Now I know how to do it a little better too! I am going to improve my stories to cover the 3 points.

Most people just want a real shot at a doing something good/great. Most people thought it was just in the 40/40 plan, but times have changed!
  • Really looking forward to the rest of this. 5 great questions and a story and that's just the first 8 minutes!
  • I think I'm going to like this series. Looking forward to tomorrow!
  • Les Brown is amazing! What he tells us about having a story and tell it often, is so important. When people leave your presentation they will "talk about you - but feel better about themselves", brilliant!
  • racingworm
Other than just " Wow , Wow, Wow ! What the heck else is there to say. Les is one of those people that can tell a story and captivate his audience. Nuggets just falling everywhere.
  • Kim Svensen
Wow! What an amazing individual. I cannot wait for the next episode. I recently watched him on another site and a quote that he made stuck in my mind 'We are Dealers of Hope'.
  • jerryscribner
    wow
  • dave S
Tell the story that proves to others that they can and it's worth it. The 40/40 plan is over.
  • Ones own story. Strategically expressed. Most feel they do not have a story, but everyone does. Great interview.
  • this was one of those videos i didnt want to end... I'm so looking forward to the next few days
  • Some of the best advise I have heard, and can use in my own Business. Hungry for more great advise. Thank you Eric.
  • marvalouslife1

  • rmonte
Great Interview! Stories capture people and opens up their heart and mind.
  • Edith Kohler
Wow,Les says so many valuable things in just a few minutes
And finally I get it,the difference between telling a story and not talk to much about the business.Let the tools explain that part
I'm very ready for the next part
  • joomoura
    What a fantastic interview!!!!!
  • Thank you so much Eric for all you do to keep us all inspired with your video blogs. I love this site and will make it a habit of posting on here everyday from now on.

Les Brown is an amazing human being. I am from South Florida and know the impoverished area that he grew up in called Liberty City. And for him to pick himself up at the age of 8 and decide for himself that he was going to be different and make a difference in the world took a lot of heart, desire, and guts. He has definitely made it.

And, it is true that everyone has a story to tell the question is - How and When will you tell your story? Network marketing is the perfect vehicle for you to tell your story. Just go out and help others along the way and the time will come for you, as well as them, to tell your story.

Thank you Eric and God bless you, your guests, and everyone that contributes to this awesome blog.
  • TAbrams
Great lesson today and I loved Les Brown's story about the young man. Excellent way to tell a story strategically and a great story for anyone that says they do not have one.

It goes back to becoming a master story teller and being so passionate that you create the experience for the person.

Great lesson and points on answering all audiences same three questions... The 3 W's

    Who are you?
    What do you have?
    Why should I care?

Also I found his point on becoming better at storytelling and staying away from the information/facts important as so many new people sometimes try and focus on the pure facts. The facts can't create the experience..

Create an experience that is going to motivate your audience and partners!!

    Can't wait for part 2..
  • patrickmcfeely
I have to give my story, not the full book from cover to cover.
Thank you for your time Eric
  • Excellent!! Les Brown stated it as straightforward as it is - his story about the man losing his job after quadrupling sales at the company is right-on and an excellent example that causes people to think and analyze their 9 to 5 job.
  • No kidding, right? It's a scary place out there in corporate America. I'm glad I never bought into that!
  • rasdaniels
So many Lessons learned today...I must have a story. I must be able to tell my story. My prospects want to know who I am, what I have & why they should care. Every prospect wants to know if they can do it and is it worth their time. We want prospects who are willing to die to the person that they are in order to live the life that they want.
  • caronwashington
I already know this interview is gonna be great. I absolutely loves Les Brown's work. I like the 3 questions he presented that must be answered when you give a presentation. Ive repeatedly heard that its all about your story and what's in it for them.
  • brigittapatel
It comes back to telling a story a compelling one, a story the other person can relate to.
The person has to see and feel that it can be done and they can do it.
    Les Brown is great.

    Thanks a million
  • gmeyerson
I love it, I have a story and I love using others as well
  • jpmendoza
I had not heard Mr. Les Brown speak before, I can not wait for the next interview.
  • Tina Perdue
Nice to know I can use someone else's story. That was appealing. Now, i hope we get to hear your story, Les.
  • margarethockaday
excellent way on how to tell a story and controlling your own financial settings.
  • My goodness...I love how Les breaks down the value of telling a story...the 3 questions everyone is playing in their head when you approach them and the 2 they are wondering about themselves...I can't wait for the other 3 parts.
  • liora
    B"H
Here is the core "Who are you? What you have? Why should I care?
  • pollyhulseman
This is so good already - Looking forward to hearing more of his stories!
  • MarvinTowler
I love how it always comes back to face to face and belly to belly and sharing your story.

Great questions Who are you? What do you have? Why should I care? Can I do it? Is it worth it?

"If information could change people everyone would be skinny, rich, and happy!"

    "The 40/40 plan is gone!"

Woo hoo this promises to be a great interview! Thanks Eric & Les!!!
  • jeffreyhall
Les Brown has a way of conveying a message, story, like few others. It is a true gift that he has worked long and hard to develop.
  • Lisette
    Yes, storytelling is important.
  • chipc
Everyone has been saying you have to have a story. I automatically assumed it had to be about me. The story Les just told is one anyone can use. Thanks, Less.
  • Bjorgli
Interesting questions again and reflections on stories. I almost can't wait for tomorrow.
  • You've got a SHOT! I love that. Les Brown gave one of the most professionally-crafted stories I've ever heard, in SPITE of the fact that it was not one of his own.
  • Hi Eric! I'm definitely going to look att my story 2-3-4-5 times and try to make the most of it. I've actually been thinking about this and how to make my story count for someone else and I'm going to review my story right now. Thanks for the tip! / Linda, Sweden
  • quincy
Les Brown is one of my favorites. I like what he says you must cover in your story. I never thought about it that way before. If you havent heard him before you're definitely in for a treat. Thank You Eric.
  • ritafulton
Les Brown...many lessons in this first part of interview. I had the good fortune to meet Mr Les Brown when he spoke at Sacramento's Masters of Excellence Series some time back prior to being in Network Marketing..still remember his stories and sharing...anyone remember the "peanut" story?
    Can't wait for tomorrow's episode.
  • Oeh, this promises to be good.... looking forward for tomorrow ~
  • Cindy Dower
I LOVE Les Brown!!! He was the keynote speaker at my company's convention in 2008. He is compelling and brilliant. Can't wait for the rest of the interview. Thank you for the words today.
  • Thank you! I can't wait to see the rest. I think this is one of the most recent interviews that I kept pausing the video to take notes.
  • The message to "tell the story" really hit home, I even went out and purchased a journal to start thinking and writing my story, but also to add some memories that might be forgotten.

I can't wait for your 1 year anniversary Eric, congratulations and thank you for all you give ! ! !
  • dougharkins
Inspiration with directions on how to let everyone experience "the story". Thanks Eric
  • Marina
I liked this interview very much! Those questions are very important. We are very often trying to tell to our prospects tons and tons of information. But what is important more is to listen them and answer at the questions in their mind: Can I do it? Is it worth it? We need to remember about it when we are telling our story. I'm going to review my story too, based on this information.
It's a lot of great points in this segment. I'm looking forward to see complete interview.

Thanks for this amazing opportunity to learn from great mentors like you and Les Brown.
  • As my husband says, "Job security is a myth!" All too true. I love the 40/40 is gone story and will be telling that story to people I meet. This is another interview going out to our team!
  • Miguel Cortez
    Tell the story again.... :)
  • Paco_Carreno
    Wow!
3 question to focus in... and build our stories...

I really get it! Let's master the skill of "telling stories", specially our story... The guy from the example... it's amazing... but it's the truth: working for others implies the risk of being used and thrown latter on once you do what they want... It's a very dramatic story. thank you for sharing.
  • Sometimes you feel like running away and hiding when you remember all the information that you gave away and yet never even thought to tell your story and make people feel part of your story. As a European I know that it is harder concept for people to take on board as it can sound like ME< ME, ME and very egotistical. As Les Brown says it is the idea of strategically telling your story and helping them be part of your story.
  • garyparmenter
It isn't the information as much as the experience. In which answers to the questions of. Can I do this? Is it worth it? What a great interview. I'm looking forward to the rest.
  • Can bring the horse to water..., and boy do I have the "water". Make them have an experence so they want to come back for more.
  • travelprohawaii
Wow! No wonder the greatest networker who ever lived told parables!
  • Can't wait for tomorrow's. Les Brown breaking down how to tell your story. This interview is powerful.
  • lucbehar
    nb: 252:
    d-11 for the 1st year!
So important to have and tell your story!
    - Who you are?
    - What do you have?
    - Why should i care?
And be able to help your prospects or visitors to answer the 2 quations: Can I do it? Is it worth it?

So far it is worth it listening to every single episode of NMpro!
    thanks
  • rayrios
I was left with my ears on fire!!! We need to become better at Creating and Telling our story..Story Sells, Facts tell.
  • Great stuff ready for more from Les Brown.
  • ybimbalanced
Wow! I have always like Les Brown, but now I think I'm going to have to study more of his material. He has great wisdom! Thanks.
  • this interview is so full of wisdom and practical things anyone can do as a professional! Thanks for setting this up Eric!
  • enrique62
Tell a story. I don't have to have a story of myself, use someone's else.
  • BetterCoffee.dk
I'm now sitting down to write my story and practise it tonight in front of my girlfriend.

I try to touch on all those points mentioned, but sometimes forget or get things upside down in the heat of battle.
Time to get a story together to make sure my delivery is perfect every time.
  • carybennett
WOW looking forward to tmrw.. Very good nuggets, Thanks Eric again...
  • jlconner
Thanks Eric. I have heard Les Brown on several occasions and he has taught me something each and every time. Can't wait for the rest of the interview.
  • artdlasvegas
Les Brown is such an inspirational speaker. I can learn a lot from this man. Simplistic (Nuts and Bolts) kind of stuff. Thanks Eric for your dedication to us by providing these interviews for us to learn from.
  • chocolatelifesaver
So being successful in MLM takes a good plan and recreating your STORY to continue to inspire and grow your family of TEAM.
    Great perspective!
  • Les Brown is the man ... "If information could change people, everybody would be skinny, rich and happy." - classic!

So, our job then is to let people know that 'yes they can do this' and 'yes it'll be worth it' ... pure gold.

The last minute was especially inspiring -- the 40/40 is gone!

    Thanks Eric,
    Scott
  • janetrajala
What delicious nuggets Les Brown has to share. I've listened to this segment over & over again. In my view, finding my story/voice has been one of the most challenging aspects of MLM. Les Brown has hit the nail on the head when he states your story must give your audience an experience so they will want to be part of your vision.
Time to tackle this challenge again, keeping Les Brown's words in mind.
  • Who, What & Why?
Good stuff! Look forward to the rest of the interviews. Thanks,
  • Mr. Williams
Wow Eric. This is one of my favorite interviews also, This interview with Les Brown will bring viewers SO much value by sharing his secret on story tailing. Thank you Eric for what you are doing, you are really giving us an edge on network marketing.
    your friend Mr. Williams
  • Who are you?
    What do you have?
    Why should I care?

The story must provide an experience that answers the above and "I can DO this."

    Hunger begets hunger...

"Job security" is a myth and the story demonstrates in the world outside of NWM nothing is ever enough. NOT true in NWM.
  • teambodie
Episode 43 Of Eric Worre's 100 Episode Throw Down Challenge:

Lees Brown is awesome. I love his description of why stories are important. the 40 -40 plan is also great. Eric, your content just gets stronger and stronger. Love it.

    BB
  • chriskemp817
All I can say is WOW! I love that story that Les told. I believe it comes down to one thing. To become more successful and increase your closing rate you have to get the prospect to FEEL your presentation instead of HEARing your presentation. I tell you after hearing that short story I am ready to go tackle the world!
  • billrogers
Fantastic! Another great interview. I have heard Les Brown a few times. Never heard him speak this candid about telling your story. Love the 40-40 analogy. Going to add this to my verbage.
  • kgoren
WOW!! Great segment. Can't wait to hear the rest. His thoughts on "strategically telling your story so that people can see themselves in the story," is quite powerful.
  • Wow.... This is good stuff Eric!
  • CarlosVera
This guy rocks!!! I have to admit I never read any of his books, but as you read this I'm becoming a fan!!!
Great this in such a short time:

    • Critical questions your audiences always have in their heads: who are you (tell your story), what do you have (tell the story about the product) and why should I care (tell them how your opportunity will affect them),

    • Other critical questions: can I do it (is it duplicable) and is it worth it (is the “reward” worth paying the price?). Do not “bomb” your audience with lots of information, but instead focus on answering these critical questions!

    I can't wait 'till tomorrow..........
  • drmikempa
    The story is important!
  • denisekay
The excitement in this show is contagious!. Got it! The Three W's are valuable. Who are you, What do you have and Why should I care?
    Spring is in the air!
  • I had never heard of Mr. Brown before, but he's amazing. What a knowlegde he has. May be this complete interview is in the run for the best interview so far by NWMPRO. Love personal development. Best regards from your biggest fan.
  • FrankMarshman
To repeat everyone, "Another great show." In you presentations that I have worked through one of the most important ideas I have internalized is that your income or business cannot grow beyond you. All of these are courses in self development and are part of the school I have subscribed to. This was another great chapter in "The Course in YOU".
  • Mailen
Very true, the 40/40 plan do not give us security. And if you get some kind of problem with your body , and can`t work full time . . . the 40/40 plan is gone.
So let us go out and work with network marketing professionaly
  • Nancy Eldred
Yep - Les Brown gets right to it, doesn't he. Just out of the starting gate and POW - fantastic information
  • bryantkeefe
Raise the roof, Mr. Les Brown in the house. Great example of the "story". The 40/40 is dead, long dead, and network marketing is a perfect solution to the slow death of the traditional job.
  • claralondono
wow I really like the words "community of achievers"...will do Thanks
  • chocolatelifesaver
Les Brown really gave a different aspect of this dealing with this business. How refreshing to consider your efforts to improve your skills each day as part of growing their business by developing a personal link with the people you interact with so there is connection.
    Who are you?
    What do you have?
    and
    Why should I care?
    All to answer their questions:
    CAN I DO IT?
    AND
    IS IT WORTH IT?
    SO THE INTENT
  • andreas papakostas
GO TO BE HUNGRRRRRRRRRRRRY!!!! LOve les brown.
  • Soooo Good... We need our story told hundreds/thousands of levels deep.. DOING LIFE!
  • I'm learning to tell my story everyday. Les was great in reminding to us to tell storys. Use other peoples until we have ours.
  • anthonyviglietta
Eric! You're teasing us! I don't want to wait until tomorrow! Why not show the complete interview on Monday, and then show the "parts" from Tues-Friday. LOL!
  • Katie N
"Who are you? What do you have? Why should I care?" Great info..
  • maariee
Fascinating! Really need to hear more...
  • mbryant
Gotta Love Les Brown - one of the best storytellers out there. Can't wait to complete this interview, because we will take things away from this that we can really use to "tell our stories".
  • Whats the rest of the story????? ;) This is the episode I have been waiting for. How to tell a story ;)
  • gabisahar
    Thanks Eric,
Than was a great one, to tell the sotry of someone else, for me, it's a great tip.
    Thank you
  • Gakungu
That was great. Develop a story to tell others your 'Why' for engaging in network marketing.
  • wouterdeprez
Good lesson, we so often forget the basics! thx
  • Jan_Proot
thanks Les, for repeating the basics : what questions do people have when you talk to them? Can I do it? and Would it worth my effort? Have a great story! Keep it simple!
The story about the young man is a story that happens daily. I certainly will use this.
Thank you Eric, what a great value you bring to our business.
Yes, we have a better way ! Crisis? What crisis? The future is bright :-)

  • I appreciate you Eric and Les. This is great stuff and I AM HUNGRY!

Another great new serie. Thank you.
  • soxfan071
Who are you? What do you have? Why should I care? Tell the story and the right people will relate to it and join you. Great lesson. Thank you!
  • THANK YOU LES BROWN!!!!! You just cooked the essence of presentation into the most simple formula I've ever seen a) you are you b) What do you have c) Why should I care - and the way you told the story of MLM - my God this is incredible !!!!
  • Hi Eric, so many nuggets
Who are you? what do you have? and why should I care? tell your story strategically getting across that in our business you have a shot to control your own financial future plus so much more in just 8 minutes. Thanks Les, can't wait to hear more. Have a great day.
  • Mark_Abrahams_UK
More great stuff. Thanks so much to Les Brown (who, via Eric, gave a moving yet humorous tribute to Jim Rohn).

AND..I'm growing my story...and boy, do I have one.

I watched this magical interview a couple of times.
It was worth investing a little extra if my time in this.
I am so looking forward to the next in this series.
Am busy learning from the best and building my hunger to become the best I can be in MLM.
As with all Eric's videos and interviews, I have taken valuable notes.
    This is great.

    Thanks again Eric.
  • Darnell
Oh right...we have another interview that is getting off to a fine start here!! I haven't listened a lot to Mr. Les Brown and will be looking to learn much from this session. So far, one needs to just get to the point when presenting oneself to one person or a group about how this will benefit their well-being and if it's worth their effort/time...then to leaving a job after excelling in it b/c one's services are no longer needed to being in MLM to a more independant future and controlling your future and succeeding!! And then to someone doubting self in not even thinking he/she has no story to knowing you can still tell another's. I'm in for this interview, Eric....looking 4ward to the next video and I'm sure we all are excited about this one too!! Thank You!!!!
  • Erik
Wow, so many great interviews, they just getting better and better. Am I lucky to get this information or is it not luck that I found this site ? I have checked out Mr Browns stuff a few years ago but I was probably not ready for it before now ?

You dont need a story, you can borrow someones elses story ;) Jim Rohn used to say this :)

Thanks a lot for this site.
  • Always a pleasure to listen to Les Brown
  • MagnusEdvald
Eric! You did it again. Another super great interview.
Mr. Brown has a lot to say and sure knows how to say it.
    THANK YOU ERIC.
  • Kjell Englund
Thanks for the really important points for my story =)
can i do it?, is it worth it?
who are you?, what do you have?, why should i care?

WOW, I cannot wait until tomorrow!
  • davidgreene
WOW ~ What a Start w/ Part 1 of 4 with Les Brown! What Can Brown Do for You?? Listen & Learn!!
  • I am grateful to finally deserve to see, listen to and somewhat understand all these demigods: I am fascinated by Les Brown: his clarity, his charm and beautiful voice. Harvey Mackay so relaxed and giving and you, as happy as a kid in a toystore. With teachers like these and the ones before them, there is no doubt in my mind:I will become a Network Marketing Pro!!
  • peterragg
Another legend, brilliant start. "Create a community of achievers" spot on.

    Kind regards
    Peter
  • yuvalcohen

  • Alfie

    who are you?

    why should i care?

    can i do it?
    is it worth it?

You can bring the horse to the river but you can't make it drink, but you can create the thirst where they want to drink.

Tell the story in a way that the people see themselves in the story.

    You gotta be hungry!

Les brown created a thirst in me with this video. Can't wait to see the remaining part of the interview.

    Les brown rocks!
  • talya_mitzafon
Dear Eric, your well of surprises is probabely endless......

This was a great interview. I can't wait for the rest of the series. This is the first time I've actually heard Les Brown. Thanks for a great interview Eric.
  • WOW! This is only the first part, and am getting chills already! Les Browns book" Its not over, until I win" was the first book I read that introduced me to personal development. Since then it has changed my life! Thank you Eric for interviewing this awesome man!

  • tyroneholmes
    What can I say?... awesome
  • eabus
What a phenomenal, compressed way to put things into perspective.
  • Steve Weaver
Les Brown has always been powerful and inspirational for me.
What a treat to hear and see him on NMPRO! This was the best show yet, and this time, I mean it.
  • Another great interview, Eric. Great message. Even as a Police Officer with 'job security', I became involved in Network Marketing when I finally realized that if I worked twice as hard this year as I did last year....I'd still be paid the same... I love your interviews Eric...keep them coming!
  • Y’all I am SO excited about this week! I can listen to Les Brown talk all day. I was just watching Richard Brooke interview him and Michael Clouse last night, right before watching NMPRO #251 with Harvey Mackay.

So many nuggets in this one but my favorite has to be the part about: Can I do it, and is it worth it? So true and so important to understand!

And I love the end of this episode, that’s GREAT for prospects!
  • Yes, believing is sooo important.
Here someone told me before, be a story teller.
