in the begining you'll do a lot of things that you don't get paid for but by the end you'll get paid for a lot of things that you don't do.--
will put that quote into my trainings.
    thanks

I use this clip on my ABOUT ME page on my company website ;)

This reminds me of something I just heard from a CD of Joel Osteen. When you catch a fish that's been in the Ocean, when you cook that fish more than likely you have to put a little salt on it. Isn't that something you have to add salt to a fish that has been surrounded all it's life by salt water? That fish while it has salt touching it, and all around it; doesn't have the salt in it. The same with our lives. We could have people all around us that work jobs, that say Network Marketing is a waste of time and so forth, yet as long as we don't have those negative things in us, we can live life the way we envision it.

The best speakers make the fewest words go the farthest. Let's all practice this in our presentations.
    Practice,Practice Practice.
  • heatherbrocklehurst
I've never heard anyone break down the "how" of telling a story in that way. Amazing!
  • JenniferDu79
That is so great. I love how he teaches us to make the story we are telling them about them by including them by pausing and asking them if there is someone they want to take care of.
  • till catching up....going to skip ahead to the Complete & Unedited version....but wanted to make sure my comment was counted! ;-)
  • I don't want Les Brown; I want MORE Brown!
  • Les makes story telling look so easy and his lessons in this show are golden.
  • Lotta
That was good. Get the people in the story
  • Ngoc Tran
I love the way Les Brown tell stories. So emotive and heartfelt!
  • daddykekere
Les is a master story teller.I'm grateful that other people's story skillfully told can create the same effect. Thank you for the wonderful interviews.
  • happyhealthybob
I love that phrase, in the beginning you do a lot of things you do not get paid for, but as you continue to grow, you get paid for a lot of things you do not do.
  • Donna Wheaton
Despite your situation if your hungry enough you can succeed. And that in todays times there is NO job security, so what am I going to do?
  • Amazing material to not only inspire people with the story but bring them into the story and get connected to it.
    It worked on me***

    NOTES:
In 2 minutes you told someone else's story and made it your own. When people raise their hands, I make it their story!
Everybody is not going to get rich. It's not that kind of party. I need to develop a lot. It takes patience and resilience.
As you continue to grow you'll receive a lot for something you didn't do.
Defining moment for you? When my mother got ill. When I become a man I want to take care of my other. Is there someone you want to do something special for? (I brought them into my story with this question) - an imaginative leap. Now the audience is in the story - they want to know more, there's a commited interest.
If Pauline can do it, then I know I can do it and you can do it.
  • meagankellytorres
Help people get into the experience of your story. That's what recruited me, come to think about it. I love it! Patience, perserverance, persistance.
  • Inger
Oh sooooo true!! Inspiration comes from within when you realize what you can achieve. When you want something hard enough you simply don't see the obstacles.
  • feltricks
He is really one of the best speakers in the world.
I feel so involved in this speach, he makes me want to be part of his business.
    Love this guy.
  • Bea Resnick
"The best speakers make the fewest words go the farthest." And in those few words answer people's questions about who you are and why they should care.
  • jeanalbert
Wow! What a powerful story. The only obstacles are the ones your own mind creates for you.
  • robbinsaturniewicz
finding the people willing do the developement skills is a major factor maybe the key?? definatley the challenge!
  • This is awesome. I love Les Brown and now I love Pauline too! Obstacles? What obstacles?
  • ronaldvandomburg
wonderful: it doesn't have to be your story: you can tell someone elses story and make it your's and your audience's story
  • So many nuggetts in this one...."a job is the journey of the broke." "Patience, perseverance, persistance." Thank you!
  • quintaser
    WOW!!!!!!
No obstacles, (just in the mind, destroy them all). Wonderful!!!!!

From Puebla Mexico, I am Sergio Quintana, MLM Pro
  • "The best speakers make the fewest words go the farthest." I love taking that journey with Les Brown and transforming my skills along the way.
  • Agneta Rebo
This is great. I loved the stories!
  • juanfernandogutierrez
I Loved the story. Obstacles are on our mind; we are the ones that put the obstacles for ourselves
  • Ask your prospects:
    1. Is there someone you want to care of. Is there someone you want to do something special for. Think about that person right now for a moment.
  • Derrick & Bernadette Lord
Haven't seen Les Brown like this since TPN. This is our third time watching and sharing this segment. What a class act. Les Brown is 'One of the Best' ever! Thanks Eric.
  • DianaValdez
Amazing story. An example that doesn-t matter were are you coming from, if you don-t do it you are just using excuses.
  • gkamlm
So interesting in building a business, in the beginning you must do a lot of things you don't get paid for, so in the later years you get paid for a lot of things you don't do.
  • cmattern
Wow! This is great stuff! I have new insight on story-telling. Thank you!
  • mspaulamc
Ahhh.. sitting at the feet of the master :) Communication: It is a skill .. and there is no one better than Les Brown ...
  • Connie Tolton
    Wow good stuff
  • Ryan
who are you, what do you have, engage.
  • Pepeneto
Another great idea to tell: In the beginning you do a lot of things you don't get paid for, but if you make your bussines grow with passion and persistence, in the end you get paid for a lot of things you don't do. I think that is the problem with people with employee mind, you work a week and you are waiting for your check, because we are trading time for money, when you are an entrepreneur that mind has to change, you must work a lot, you must invest time and other resources, and you dont going to receive your check the first week. You will not get paid in the begininng, you are creating a business. I hope I could make people understand easier, Im sure developing my stories I will. Thank you Les and thank you Eric

  • crwood1967
Talk about a master-story teller! Les knows how to draw you in and makes you want to get to the end of the story.
  • fc34615
The journey of the broke vs. the journey of the one who believes that they can live a better life.
  • rasdaniels
My Plan - put into practice what Les has taught over these past 4 days.
  • kgadol
I do wish I had Les Brown in my pocket! And on my team!!! Total inspiration. Praise God for men like you both who share what you have been blessed with to help and inspire others.
  • jean_albert
JOB - Journey Of the Broke - what a gotcha!
  • emmettb
Wow, no way, I was totly sucked in. What a great story teller!
  • timandtricia
Many trainers tell you what to do but rarely show you exactly how to do it. Not Les Brown. He's laying it out for all of us to follow. Use this as a template and master the skills. I'm loving this series!
  • jennyc
That's amazing. If she can do it, I can do it.
  • bethascoli
"The best speakers make the fewest words go the farthest" That's great, I need to remember that.

I also love the way he shows how to transition from your story to someone else's. Les is a GREAT storyteller, talk about creating belief, he's making me want to sign up all over again!
  • jlt0wn
well spoken & easy to listen to. He has the ability to paint a mental picture using few words. Didn't catch his definition of J O B until I listened a second time. J O B - Journey Of the Broke.
  • Shovers
The how to's of story writing/tellng! Awesome. I know my story telling will improve. Thanks Les Brown!
  • Les is incredible and you're right, I wish I could carry him around in my pocket.
  • eddyoshaughnessy
    A great storyteller
  • seija
If Pauline can do it, I can do it... good to remember
  • Stories sell, fact tell. The story helps one to communicate the "vision". Many people visualize and feel this intrinsically rather than listen to a bunch of facts and statistics. That's how I operate for sure, well mostly.
  • Les makes it sound so easy!! Tell your story or someone elses story. Transfer the story to them and they begin to say I can do this...
  • rayrios
Nothing wrong with being a copy cat, as long as we copy the right cat...thanks
  • KeithN
The best speakers make the fewest words go the farthest. If you don't have a story yet, use someone else's story until you do. With enough Patience, Perseverance, and Persistence, you can eventually build something to call your own.
  • PaulineP
Yes.....the things that count are inside you. It is hard work; no doubt about that one; becoming.
  • Simon_and_Lia_NL
Great, yet do not know how to implement this part into my storytelling, but I'm sure I'll figure it out when I've seen the complete intervw. thanks mr Brown, Eric
  • Maxwellhealth
It's what happens in You!!!!!!......get that straight and the rest will sort itself out
  • Beautiful statement: In the beginning you are going to do work that you won't get paid for, but if you perservere in the end you can get paid for work you aren't doing!
  • marvalouslife1
Oh yes! this is not a "get rich fast" sceam.
a good story is a great "door opener" with your prospect.

    Ron Ackerman - Israel
  • What a wonderful down to earth man! I do wish I could carry him in my pocket... and I probably will now that I have a brand new Ipod... I´ll carry you, too!! I want to be surrounded by the people who make it worth it to be their average!
  • sjwilliamson
It was very beneficial to hear that in the beginning we will need to do alot for not much return but eventually we will get a lot for not much effort.
  • CarlosVera
Wow..............talk about an inspirational speech!! It shows very clearly that the real obstacles in life are those that we ourselves create...............
  • Edith Kohler
    What a powerful speach
    Again a great interview,with a great man
  • susanclark
#253 - Les Brown Interview - 2of 4 - Things may happen around you. Things may happen to you. But, the only thing that counts is what happens in you. Les Brown is great. Thank you for sharing.
  • Jose Lopez
Amazing! Wisdom and inspiration in every sentence! - It's the first time I see Eric in total silence during a whole episode of NMPro !! LOL !!
  • onemartymac
J.O.B.= Journey Of the Broke, Great stuff
  • That was a powerful story if Pauline can do I'm sure I can do it to
  • dstfa96
Les Brown is soooo right...so many people work their jobs for 40 years and never become rich and then come into our professsion of network marketing and expect to get rich after doing the business for 6 months....thats not going to happen...To be successful you have to develop yourself, learn the business and then work the business on a consistent basis!

Wow that was an amazing story that Les brown told about Pauline from Hawaii...it made me realize that the things that I complain about and so insignificant and that I need to focus more on appreciating what I have!
  • carolmcwilliams
This series is absolutely giving us the understaning of how to use story as the power that will draw people to us. So much of NM is telling facts and benefits of the product or service. Les is not doing any of that. He is creating an emotional experience within each one of us that inspires us to want to be connected to what he is offering. This is such an amazing step by step that to me will evolve the NM profession. How do we create an emotional experience as we talk to people.

Eric- Les is so powerful I would love to have him teach a seminar to NM professionals on how to learn what he is teaching here. What do you think of asking him to do a webinar that we can all pay for to get this kind of training. Please, Please consider this. The perk for him is that he can sell his materials to us as well for those that want to go further with him.

    Thanks.
  • socorro
Pauline story is very inspirational every time I complain on why me I will remember her story
  • hpena
Wow, what a great story. I'm going to rewatch and study this interview many times.

    Nando
  • Loved:
"In the beginning you do a lot of things you don't get paid for, but in the end you get paid for a lot of things you don't do."
Tell the story and in two minutes- no pause - ask question (imaginative leap) - then the experience creates committed listening.
I'll listen to this series over and over and practice this skill as I tell the story better and better!
  • theuns
Les Thanks you I Just love listen to you every time , JOB i love the new one you give Journey Of the
    Broke I love it than.
  • Lorraine
The story of Pauline is priceless. Definitely puts things in perspective.:)
  • I think this is what I am missing. Need to work on this one!
  • Pete
It's not what happens to you, or happens around you, but what happens in you. My new mantra.
I can't take the notes fast enough. Interesting that most of what he says has been said by others or is the story of others. He is the messenger not someone trying to convince
  • alltheverybest
The secret is in the stories...
  • carybennett
    Wowm this guys is amazing
  • "Things may happen to you, things may happen around you but what really matters is what happens in you!"
So true-Les Brown has really evolved into a master or am I just seeing that now? The power of story...becoming more and more important...
  • krisic
If Pauline can do it, than so can I. Man I let too many things distract me, too many excuses. No more!
  • In the beginning you do a lot of things you not get paid for, but as you continue to grow you get paid for a lot of things you don't do........whow, if people just understand that one line.....
that they could control their own life...
  • Luis Gringras
I would like to hear a story telling I just starting in this business I don´t have a story of success, but.....
  • Luis, I was just thinking that my self, but then I thought that you maybe have to use your uplines story. A third party story, from a upline that could have some connections to your candidate...
  • veronikakari
    Determination, hard work
  • jerryscribner
    great material
  • claralondono
It is more and more clear the power of story. again thank you
  • Wonderful message! Thank you Les Brown
  • mbryant
WOW! Les Brown is on it. This is awesome material that is right on the money!
  • Dave S
How many of you know that there is no such thing as job security. Learn your business. Build something you can call your own. Stories are best when people can visualize the story and even better when they can visualize themselves in the story.
  • I watched this together with a candidate (as a third party tool) at 23.45h after a home meeting.
After watching this episode there was a brief moment of silence.
    I kept my mouth shut...
My candidate was the first to speak:
"......impressive what and how they share information".
    "seem like friendly people".

I could use this a the appropriate tool for answering the many questions on "how to....."
    Thx Les - Thx Eric

I know one thing for sure:
He said he will, let's see if he does...........
And if he does............ these 5:35 minutes will be duplicated in his organization, lasting & in depth.
    ~
  • What an amazing STORY!!
  • dougharkins
Not a get rich quick scheme.
  • The "Pauline story" tells us there are no obstacles, only those we create ourselves.
  • beckydesabah
    Patience, persistence, and perseverance.
This is getting better everyday. :-)
  • martinvf
    Excelent stories.
I've got to make one of my own experience in MLM, what made me get in here, what keeps me here, and what I'm looking in here.

    Saludos from Aguascalientes, Mexico.
  • HoracioMejia
This is top level story telling! This is an interview to hear until you memorize it. Make the fewest words go the farthest.
  • latachia_2
Wow! He's sooo good at this. all of his stories are moving, espicially the one about Pauline, the woman who became a network marketer& she has no arms or legs. And yes,he sure does know how to get you into the story. What a talented guy he is. What a lesson to be learning in such a short time.Does he have books also? If he does,I'd certainly be interested in reading them.
  • rosslopez
I love being part of this because I want to do so many special things for me, for my family, for my friends and for all the people who believe in me.
I want to tell in my story not only the things I've done but the things people can achieve by doing this.

    Hugs from Mexico
    Rossana =o)
  • Darnell
Very inspirational clip to keep us all grounded and yet uplifted to go after more in our lives and control our futures. Excellent example of Pauline overcoming her personal obstacles to becoming an entrepreneur!! Thank you both once again...looking 4ward to the next video!!!
  • MarvinTowler
The best speakers make the fewest words go the farthest! Get the audience enrolled in the story and tell the truth. You've got to work!!! Patience, persistence, and perseverance.
  • Foord Yates
    Wow!
Cant wait for the next one...

    Foord Yates.
  • Great story teller. I'm skipping ahead.
  • Tarashon Broomes
you have to WORK, BUILD a foundation and have PATIENCE in network marketing. its key to develop your story
  • The power of the story is so crucial for a great leader. Les is an amazing story teller and how he shares his story and engages the audience is so awesome. These are great nuggets.
    Thanks again.
    Make it a great day!
    God Bless,
    -ed
  • Eric, what power this has in it. Two shows and already six pages of notes. You have to love what your hearing or your not playing in reality land. Build your story and use someones until you have yours. I know I listened to that being said a thousand times but didn't hear enough to realize how important it is. By the way that was truly an inspirational story about Pauline. I am embarrassed by my excuse making.
  • latachia_2
This is the first time I actually saw HOW you told the story& how to get people involved in them,& to be a part of them.I think this guy is awesome!
  • That's a great segment Eric. Empowering others to be a part of the story... and..... how to do it.
    Thanks to both of you.
  • Absolutely awesome.
    Wow, great stories and coaching
  • Les Brown is a master story teller, and learning from a master and perfecting our storytelling ability along with our self talk and our attitude will go a long way to helping us become the network marketing pros we all aspire to be.
  • lorijones
This was great, the way that the stories are told that draw people into them and make them theirs is a gift. This is something I know I need to learn to do.
  • tambry
Amazing story. Guess we do have an excuse. It comes down to the limitations that we put on ourselves.
  • Irina
    Brilliant! Thanks Les and Eric!
  • kristibateman
Fantastic stuff. Yes I wish I had Les Brown in one pocket and Eric Worre in the other pocket....smiles
This interview comes at the very time that I am struggling to put my story together.
  • Wow!
  • barryburgin77
    Thanks, Pauline!!
  • karivankleef
I am in awe, what an amazing story teller. Mr. Les Brown draws you into his story and makes you feel like you are the only person he is talking to. I keep listening because I am so amazed. Need to work on my story telling ability.
  • What an amazing and uplifting story that was. It is true that the only thing that can stop you from going forward are the things that are in you. Your mind and your thoughts are the only things that can hold you back and keep you from getting ahead in this industry and in life.

I have a daughter, 24 yrs. old now, who had brain surgery 3 years ago. She suffered brain damage at birth and we found out that half her brain was not working. The brain is an amazing organ. The good part of her brain picked up for whatever the defective side was not doing. She has taught me so much and it is because of her that I am going to build my organization and am not going to quit.

She did not let that little inconvenience hold her back and to this day she walks, talks, runs, and if I had not told you that she suffered brain damage when she was born you probably would not notice it. I thank God for her everyday. And, I thank God for leading me to network marketing again.

Keep these great video blogs going Eric. Love them!
  • Alfie
Hi Ray, you also have an inspiring story ... You have a treasure. Thanks for sharing.
  • margarethockaday
Wow, wow. It comes down to believing in yourself and accepting no excuses.
  • keithraines
No arms, No legs, building a NM biz..I have no excuse. That story helped me.
Imagine what story I can create to help others???
  • Ellis3
Okay so that is another story I will use when talking with my prospects!!!! Thanks Les!
  • That make so much sense when you can tell a story and others can relate to it, now you have more to talk about and more in common, now you can grow together and help one another to success. Good stuff
  • Great stories!
Listening to Mr. Les Brown I come to conclusion that the only obstacles we have are those we create in our minds. And such kind of obstacles are the most difficult to overcome.
  • julie67
I love it! The story of the gal from Hawaii was awesome. Many of us have much less of obstacles in our lives and tend to focus our energy and thoughts on them. What a lesson to be learned and lived out that we control our own destiny. I am really enjoying Les Brown.
  • agelfederico
Very important skill, thanks for laying it out like so.
  • tomdoiron
Pauline saw herself within herself as an empowered person. Wow
  • hillin
All the great people and even the great people from our profession say it; Them then you and you will have it all
  • karenandian
Absolute awesome! We love the JOB analogy - Journey of the Broke!!! Thank you Les Brown! Tell your story, include the audience by having them relate to what you are telling (their minds race to who can I help), how to achieve it!
Eric - your interviews are always on the mark!
  • There are so many exceptional points in Les Brown's story, but one that hit home is: things may happen around me, things may happen to me, but what matters are the things that happen within me ! !
  • Earl
Make the fewest words go the farthest! Awesome concept! Going to work on that!
  • Les Brown - where have you been all of my life. I was a fan after watching your Jim Rohn tribute speech but the more I see the more I see (sic). Think this one's going to get a lot of viewing - I'll return to it more than once.
  • MattinJaxfl
Once again people who are successful fit the mold of having a vision and being a great storyteller.
  • This is a story industry. I always tell my new distributors to tell their story of why they joined, but also to share those of others that have achieved success.
  • garyparmenter
What an inspirational story teller. I would only hope to develop my story telling to his level. (There's that personal growth thing.) Develope your story so that people can relate their own story with yours.
  • jpmendoza
If Pauline with no arms, no legs has no excuses, fines no obstacles in her way, how can I say that I who am in good health, say that I have obstacles?
  • karenandian
Oh so True!! Hearing Paulines Story - should make each one of us realize - we really don't have any obstacles (other than ourselves that is!)
  • germarl
    Even better !!
  • talya_mitzafon
The power of our story - amazing. The way Les Brown put it is very freshing.
  • Les Brown is an Extraordinary and Powerful Story Teller...

"if Pauline can do it... You can do it" <--POWERFUL
  • janetrajala
Once again, I had to listen to this segment several times to catch all the "goodies" therein. Les Brown is a genius with his use of words to embrace the audience and make them a part of his story.
  • gillym1
Such simple yet powerful words! Thank you so much!
  • racingworm
Breaks it all down to no one but you can decide when it is time to stop making excuses. Whew! Sometimes you need to kickstart yourself. Thankyou Mr.Brown , and Thankyou Eric for taking the time, from your time, to give it to us.
  • gloriavintila
Impressive stories, I almost felt tears in the corner of my eye. Make the best out of your story!
  • Arnold Thompson
    Wow, powerful stuff. No excuses!!
  • How do you do this Eric? How do you get in front of such AWESOME people? I really want to know!
  • artdlasvegas
I am taking Les brown with me everywhere I go. His words are great.
  • I have to learn to become a great speaker. You guys are awesome. You make it sound so natural to say the things you say. I am not at that stage yet. But I will get there. Sooner or later. Hopefully sooner.
  • Lisette
This is the first time I have heard Les Brown, but not the last.
  • Jeroen Lingier
Another great nugget. Make your story their story.
Don't expect great wealth in only 6 months. You don't expect it from your job.
Work those skills and become a leader.
If Pauline can do it, so can we.
Thanks for the inspirational wordt, mr Brown.
  • rmonte
Great example of telling a story and then using it to help people think of what they want. Awesome
  • rasdaniels
Les Brown - powerful speaker!!!! Thanks
  • What a great way to engage people by putting them in your story and helping them see it as their story. It makes us easier to relate to when we present our story that way.
  • grantkhary
Les Brown Is Amazing...You Gotta Be Hungry!
  • "things that happen in you..." Amazing Les Brown and amazing stories he has
  • excellent example on how to develop a good story that people can relate to, can't wait for the next 2 parts!!!
  • Bjorgli
Pauline must be an amazing person and so are you.
  • Miguel Cortez
A Good specker use less word... Make them know they have a story tool.....
  • denisekay
Amen, if Pauline can do it, I can do it. God Bless Pauline and Mr. Les Brown. Loved today's story.
  • SJ Doug
Wow, Things may happen around you, things may happen to you but the only things that count are the things that happen in you.
    Great stuff Eric.
  • TAbrams
The more of Les Brown I watch the more information and education I want from this man.

Some great ways to relate back your story to your audience while addressing their 3 W's.

I often see many people when they first begin speaking in front of audiences - talk alot, try and get every last work out there and include way to much information.

Mr Brown's statement "the best speakers make the fewest words go the furthest", is very powerful and true.

This interview was impact-full for me and has made me look at how I engage the audience and get the story across to relate back to them.

Love the JOB - definition... "Journey for the Broke"...

Take your own life back, control your destiny and take massive action... but you got to work!!

    Patience, perseverance, & persistence.

We have a better way!!! :)
  • ulla99
I really love his way to tell the story!
  • Les Brown tells a great story that nothing is impossible to reach.
  • quincy
Ive never thought about the parts of a story the way Les Brown puts it. I am now more aware of how to share my story and how to use it effectively in bringinh someone into my story and perhaps moving them in some way. I know these story telling skills will help my business tremendously. Thank you Les.
  • Patience, Persistence all good nuggets. The MAN (Mrs. Brown's BabyBoy" is an icon for me. Love it. God stuff Eric.
  • christinaglazar
I just love that guy and yes - I also could listen to him for hours! And he knows what he is talking about .... !
  • Another inspiring interview. Les Brown is mesmerizing the way he can tell a story. Thank you for the lesson. I've heard "tell your story" and didn't really get it until now.
  • gmeyerson
What a great story teller, could listen to him forever
  • Couple of my favorite quotes out of this episode:

    “You got to work”

    and

“In the beginning you’ll do a lot of things you don’t get paid for but as you continue to grow you’ll get paid for a lot of things you don’t do”

j.o.b. = journey of the broke, that’s a good one. I’ve heard just over broke and jump out of bed but journey of the broke is a new one to me.

Using stories of Hope. Bringing People into those stories to allow others to imagine and believe in Hope for a better life for themselves.
  • ybimbalanced
I like how he is breaking down the "story" elements. I've heard for years, tell your story, and yet I'm one of those people that think, "I don't have one". This is the information I like, not just what to do, but HOW to do it. Thanks!
  • Allright Eric and Les. It's time for me to make my story count for someone else. To show people that my story can be their story and to help others achieve their goals! / Linda, Sweden
  • Awesome story telling skills. Looking forward to more such tips from Les
  • Cindy Dower
This is helping me so much focus on reworking my story and relating to other people, sharing their experiences and their stories.
  • enrique62
"Things might happen around you, things might happen to you,the only thing that counts are the things that happen in you."
  • Understanding that we need to tell a story is one thing, having an example to follow is excellent. Will be listening to this one a few times over
  • Les touched on a powerful point when he mentioned (twice) the concept of "if you can do it, I can do it". If we can transfer the belief to our prospects that we can lead them to success, our sign up rate and business will skyrocket.

    Best,
    Scott
  • Les Brown is a master story teller. He pulls you closer with each word. I am sure that Les has crafted his skills over the years. And just like a fine wine, he gets better with age. What he says makes so much sense. In developing our story, we must tell who we are and what we have to offer. The part that frequently gets left out is the part about why the listener should care. It's easy for us to go on and on. Les challenges us to use the fewest words possible to get a point across, and in the process to bring the listener into the experience. Brilliant! Thanks Les and Eric!
  • quincy
I agree with you completely. Being able to say and do so much in the fewest words possible is a skill that we all need to master.
  • The awesome power of a story! Les Brown tells it so great!
  • patrickmcfeely
    Les is now with me.
Rhank you for your time Eric
  • This interview series with Les Brown is priceless! People relate to stories and people. It's the emotion that connects people.

I especially like how he says that if you don't have your own story quite yet (which I believe everybody has a story, they just don't know it yet), then tell someone else's story.

    Love it!
  • Marion
    What an amazing story teller.
I have already listened to part 1 & 2 multiple times.
I am certainly going to learn how to become a better story teller.
  • peterragg
Job security no longer exists, fact.
Isn't it great when you know you are in a profession (with NM) where you are secure and you are working with people who care about you and your success.
And we have brilliant people like Les and Eric who we can learn so much from, who also care very much about us.
    Awesome guys
    Kindest regards
    Peter Ragg
  • Denise Cox
love how he breaks down the story. totally going to use it in my next presentation. awesome stuff!
  • brigittapatel
It is not what happens around us it is what happens in you.

    Thanks a million.
  • pollyhulseman
Wow - such powerful story teller. I have heard him speak before and his stories just seem to get more relevant.
  • yuvalcohen
    Thanks It's just fascinating
  • smreed
I had the pleasure of meeting Les Brown this past August. Truly an incredible man.
I wish I could spend a whole day with him!!!
I will listen to this full interview along with his cd's many many times!
  • Amazing Eric that you continue to raise the bar and deliver such powerful examples of leadership and inspiration through your own story and that of your guests. These examples of storytelling have created heart share and mind share for me and are adding to my own ability to my message with prospects and customers. I find myself using these stories and adding them into my ideas in order to improve the deliver of my message. That said, they will always belong to Les Brown or you and the others. The defining moments continue to reappear thought your gift of these thought leaders to all of us.
  • mrmauriocrawford
You have to have a passion for people. Really good. Sometimes a challenge though.
People looking for jobs, while jobs are shrinking.
  • I'm thinking back to all of my training in sales, marketing etc and don't think I've ever heard such an emphasis placed on the true strength of a story and developing our story to help our business - as I look at my biggest successes though, there was a story.
  • God's words thru Les's lips. The stories flow effortlesly from from Les. Very inspirational man with a deep faith and passion.
  • mrmauriocrawford
Beautiful story. Some of us go against all odds. Some of us don't even acknowledge the odds. WOW.
  • ritafulton
Thank you Les Brown for inspiring stories and coaching. Thank you Eric for sharing Mr. Les Brown with us. Again, can not wait for tomorrows part 3.
  • hlj521
WOW! It just gets better and better! I have grown so much by watching NMPRO and I know that this interview series with Mr. Les Brown is a major turning point in my perspective on business and story telling. Awesome stuff!!!

Episode 44 od Eric Worre's 100 Episode Throw Down Challenge:

This Man is the best Story teller i've heard in a long time.. Great Stories.. The more i hear his stories the more I understand how stories can change lives and businesses.
Is there a way to get more training on story telling and develop those skills through Les. I'd be very interested.

Thanks Eric and Les for making this Profession Great.

    BB
  • Bryan_in_KC
Eric, this is just too good. Everything the man says touches me, inspires me, motivates me, encourages me, the list goes on................
  • billrogers
Amazing! Tell your story. So powerful. Makes me look at our industry in such a better frame of mind. Solidified what I have been told. An addiction to powerlessnes, what a way to describe people on a job.
  • Nancy Eldred
Thanks Eric for giving us what we need to hear.

Les Brown is a great story teller and I know he has perfected that skill ~ just like we all need to.
  • chocolatelifesaver
Les Brown is certainly someone that is on my list of people to emulate. Great perception and strong spiritual faith in the goodness in life. My mother told me that nothing ever happens to you that you are not prepared for by what happens to you the day before. If you have no story to tell, you have not been paying attention to your life. Think about all the things in your life and if you can't remember, talk to your family, go visit. You will surprise yourself and it is well worth a visit down memories lane! Thank you Eric, you are a light in this life.
  • jlconner
Love to hear Les Brown tell the story. It's amazing how he can make anyone's story his own. Looking forward to the rest of the interview.
  • Steve_Nelson
I've heard before that facts tell and stories sell...Well now we've got the master teacher on telling the story right here on NMPRO! Thanks Eric! Does anybody know if there's a way to copy the audio from the videos to itunes? This would be great stuff to have on my iphone
  • raybeattie
The emotional pull right into the story is awesome. What a teacher.
  • bryantkeefe
The story is all the difference. Work on your story and then tel everyone you meet. Be careful to make your story relevant to them not just about you. This is a subtle variance and the success is making your story resonate with the prospect.
  • kgoren
I absolutely love how smooth his story telling is and how he expertly brought the other person into his story. An incredible story telling skill. Powerful.
  • I can see a lot of people are going to be practicing there story tellling now ;) Is there a book or training package Eric you can recommend for learning this empowering skill?
  • chriskemp817
Excellent teaching on how to tell a story and bring the other person into it!
  • GERMAN JARAMILLO
Today I share with you my story quickly. I come from a middle class family. I was fortunate to study at a good university in my country and I graduated as a civil engineer. After than i studied 3 postgraduates I have studied in good universities, but I wasn't very satisfied with what and which what i was doing. 6 years ago, i met the mlm, and I began falling in love with this profession. It conformed to what I like to do in my life. It allows me to manage my time and especially to relate to many people. I feel free doing this profession and that is what most excites me. I've seen ordinary people succeed in this profession and create wealth. I know that I am too on that road and if others have done so I can do. I've had the opportunity to generate revenue through the growth of a network and now my challenge is to do it again.

A special greeting from Cali, Colombia,

    -GJ
  • coltsco
Great advice on how to bring people into the story.
  • queennaxen
This was like the last thing I needed: from now on, I label myself as a network marketing professional... in training. So far I've been hesitant to say I have a professional, thinking I'm too young, but that stops now.

I am a network marketing professional.

I startled a few people around me going gaga over the information, but nevermind. Thank you both for tips on how to build a story.
  • andreas papakostas
wow, les brown is so "automatic" "authentic" and has these short quick powerful messages that make you rewind the video to write down notes. The power of bringing your prospects into the story, asking questions, and get them involved.
  • Wow. Just listening to Les, I've add some thing to my story. Thanks
  • Jillian
Amazing stuff - what a story teller. The consummate professional that draws you in with a few words that paints a picture that is worth millions. Thanks again Eric for another wonderful introduction to a world of people I would never have met if I did not join this business.
  • drpricedc
    I Love This Guy!
  • FrankMarshman
This is the stuff we pay universities thousands of dollars for except they don't teach it. This is the stuff I have a notebook out, take notes, think about and do homework on. I go back to former lessons which say you will never grow past your self image. This is the stuff that stretches my self image and helps make it grow.
  • Another series to watch as often as it takes to have it down completely.
  • BetterCoffee.dk
    Great examples from Les Brown!

Eric, when someone says "It sounds like one of those pyramid things" they don't necessarily mean something illegal, but it's their way of saying NM because they don't know the real name.
I often get struck with hurt and irritation by that because of the negative associations. Usually I control myself, but it's hard I think.
Yesterday I drove a prospect off the phone because I got so wound up over it, it got into my voice and the things I said. I felt terribly ashamed afterwards. I ruined it for myself, but more important for my prospect. I reinforced his doubts about our profession by acting like a jerk with something to hide.

This was a prospect I didn't know. He called in response to an add I have put on a website.

What do you do when you hear something like that?
  • Gakungu
In network marketing, people become masters of their own destiny by putting effort. Always remind yourself of your WHY and you will get motivated every step of the way no matter what obstacles come your way.
  • Thanks for the most truthful way to talk to a prospective new distributor - no fluff, plain honesty.

It is empowering just to listen to Les Brown tell stories. What a wonderful story about the young woman with no arms, no legs but within she had no problems. She made a decision to live an empowered life.

It would be great to have Les Brown in my pocket but better still now because of him we can all become empowered and help somebody.
  • hcapcarp
If Paulene can do it I can do it
  • Les Brown is truly a blessing to us all. He's such a good communicator, his whole being radiates what he's talking about. I love his DVD "Live Full & Die Empty." I listen to him any chance I get.
  • soxfan071
Telling the story in few words and making an impact. Awesome!
  • eabus
Inspiring episode. The guy has the gift of synthesis and clarity.
  • Katie N
Great segment. We all control our own destiny..
  • Cee_G
Love the examples of how to tell your story. So helpful to have actual dialog and examples. The story of Pauline is powerful. Makes you take notice of what complaints you might have. Next to that, there is nothing to complain about.
  • Mark_Abrahams_UK
Another power punched interview with many nuggets, stories which inspire, information to reinforce our beliefs, methods to follow, words of wisdom which we can duplicate.

I love hearing people's stories and becoming part of theirs. I simply need to do more of it...and now I will learn to do it better.

As with Eric and Les, the best speakers use few words to tell excellent stories – to take us along with them. I get that!

    Thanks again Eric
  • anthonyviglietta
Can I borrow Les for a week?
  • This man is AMAZING!!!! I'm really touched by this man. It's a fact that story's sell. What a great Interview. Best regards from your biggest fan.
  • drmikempa
Little by little how your story is told unfolds...
  • I feel better for having heard Les Brown.

Not only do I need him in my pocket for prospecting but for a pick-me-up as well.

    I'm off to find his .mp3's :)
  • peterburrows
I may not have Les in my pocket, but he is locked in my laptop....
and Les you will be brought out to 'tell your story' on a regular basis.
    I am inspired.....
  • Paco_Carreno
It's amazing... applicable stuff! inspiring stuff... Please those who got touched by these simple but powerful principles and by Les' story... rise your hand! :-) I'm goning to use it next saturday at a small group event we have in my town! Thank you.
  • jeffreyhall
Les Brown has such a gift for breaking down a concept and making it understandable in simple terms.
  • tomlacey
Amazing is truly right on. Twice thru already. I am sure it won't be the last.
  • History tells us that stories are eveything. So glad you were able to interview Les and can't wait for part 3.
  • I agreed with this. And if you can make this into your life then we will have lots of people to speak to everyday. :-)
  • This is amazing stuff, how to talk to people, broken down and answering the questions given to us yesterday. I am hooked on Les Brown
  • This expanded my mind further to new ways i can incorporate stories.
I appreciate you both, Eric for putting in the shows and in this case Les for expanding into who you are.
    Alex Tita
    Here as promised.
  • Les Brown is a great story teller and it pays to listen to him over and over again
  • mariasiro
It is so good to learn from you guys... I loved the story about Pauline and I'm going to use it too!
  • MagnusEdvald
Mr. Brown is a master story teller. It is great to be able to learn from him.
  • Alfie
Great stories. I really love the way Les Brown tells his/others story. It's amazing how he get to connect to listeners and put them into the story.

I remember Nick Vujicic, an australian without arms and legs, who is now a very successful man.

This video is a treasure. Les Brown is a diamond.
  • Facts tell stories sell - Mr. Brown sure know how to use stories
  • Erik
Great stuff. We are story tellers. If you do not have a story, borrow someone elses story :) That Pauline story was fantastic.
  • Kjell Englund
Another beautiful morning in Sweden. I really love to start my days looking at NMPRO.com. Today it´s a very special day, Thank you Mr Les Brown for that wonderful part of the interview.
This morning you have open my eyes =)
Thank you Eric for giving us the opportunity to meet all the great people in NM.
  • Jan_Proot
This story about Pauline? Now that's what I call a right attitude :-)
    We are all paid storytellers.
Mr Brown is right about becoming rich. If you work hard, you can earn good money. But becoming rich isn't for everybody.
In the beginning, you do a lot of work where you don't get paid for. And this is where most people quit.
    Jan - Belgium
  • wouterdeprez
wow, the Pauline story grabbed me man!
  • carolbarrett
Great interview today. Love the Pauline story -- if Pauline can do it -- I can do it. What an inspiration she is.
