One of the most effective approaches out thtere. Very successful indeed. Thanks again for sharing Eric.
  • aliceflanders
Signs of spring everywhere, huh? Tomorrow will be the second week of summer for me.
  • wealthandriches
Those are great tips Eric. I love it!
  • Bryan_in_KC
I use this technique more than any other. I find it a very comfortable way of approach.
  • heatherbrocklehurst
I like this approach. I know people will be thinking, "Why NOT me?" lol
  • yitz613
The indirect approach is great for creating interest. It also eases the new distributors fears about contacting people on their "chicken list"...
  • JenniferDu79
I have heard the "who do you know" approach before from my upline a while back and I am ashamed to say I didn't listen to it or follow it. I may have tried it once or twice and abandoned it. It is interesting that you can hear something from someone else and get it and want to implement it. I think it can be that since we are typically close to our uplines it is like listening to your parents you know. we know they are right but don't always follow thier advice until we hear it from a friend. :)
  • great...love the prospecting material
  • mspaulamc
Eric, this reminds me a technique we use called "LEAPFROGGING" - people can make opinions for themselves but not for people who they know. Richard Brooke teaches it and it is awesome!
  • Who do you know...what a great phrase to take the pressure off.....
  • The cracks started to appear in me a few weeks ago and now I am completly icefree. Your tips WORK
  • jeanalbert
One of the best approaches in my opinion.
  • feltricks
When you take away the candy from the kid, there is when they show most interest.
    Thanks a lot Eric.
  • julie67
People like to "beat around the bush". We are all silly!
  • Lotta
    Thank you for the tip.
  • vernard
Thanks for a great tip! More power
  • Tony
I remember on one occasion when I used this approach the prospect eagerly took the video and passed it to (he claimed) 4 friends, one of whom called me and joined. When I went back to him to let him know he asked me what it was about. He'd never looked at the video himself. :)
  • Ngoc Tran
Thank Eric for your making things simpler. Do you know anyone who…? It’s so great!
  • Excellent step away from defenses.
  • happyhealthybob
    great way to prospect!
  • smreed
    Do you know anybody who.......?
I like this technique very much!!! ;)
  • Luis (Pelon)
GREAT TECHNIQUES, WILL START TO USE THEM RIGHT AWAY
  • nikigombis
So hard not to feel manipulative.
  • raybeattie
Do you happen to know anyone who...looking for a referral great way to take the pressure off.
  • gjt
this approach takes pressure off those you approach and even yourself most people like to help
  • robbinsaturniewicz
I've known about this technique but haven't used it. I'll try it.
  • ronaldvandomburg
a good tip Erik, I will try it out
  • Rubina
Great!!! Makes a lot of sense....and allows to person to relax and hear what you are "REALLY" saying.
  • Jessi
    Thanks för the new ideas!
  • Thrilled to meet your son, Taylor, if only briefly!
  • gloriavintila
Unbelievable, but spring is on its way to Sweden as well, finally. However, very true: I tested the indirect approach last week. I was relatively relaxed and talking about the business I am in as if I was telling a story, with no sign of direct recruitment intention.
  • hectojr
I like you`r videos i will like to be a networker like you because i have my company and i need to
learning more about this stuff ^^ :)
  • I like this "Approach"
  • Foord Yates
Yes, if you can bypass those "instant barriers" its a much easier run to the finish line, which is the application form!

    Foord Yates.
  • I really like this go pro stuff, the concept, content and value is phenomenal.

    Thanks Eric

    Babs
  • seija
Good points, helps me a lot!
  • Great technique Eric.
  • fc34615
    Great approach!
    Thanks, Eric.
  • kristibateman
    That's great Eric.
  • crwood1967
It is so true to use the in-direct approach.

Don't you think that by having a good product at a truly fair price helps with prospecting? If you have a free sample to offer and focus on getting people as a true customer?
  • Marco Nomabiles
    It's great suggestion... God speed

    Marco
  • gkamlm
Great suggestion, I used it for years recruiting candidates for the placement industry.

It does work and in some cases the prospect challenges you and says why not me.
  • ViktoriaGuerin
Great approach and worth doing it.
  • juanfernandogutierrez
I watched the video, and then tried this approach and it worked!! I have two new prospects that watch a video and wants to sit and hear about the business. Thank Erick!!
  • chriskemp817
Indirect approach. I like it. People will not be defensive.
  • Great stuff Eric... a subject that all of use need to practice and use more successfully.
  • Agneta Rebo
I´m sure going to try that.
  • Alice Clifford
Hi Eric I like your technique. I have not tride it ,but I will. Thanks AC
  • brianhepner
Great stuff as always. Good one to start putting to use.
  • Dylan Cooper
Thanks Eric. I've been using this. Even in written correspondence. Everyone finds it reasonable to have a think about people they know and to help. In the meantime, they take a look themselves.
  • BetterCoffee.dk
    Nice approach, Eric.

I will use that in the future as well as my own version.

I go indirect in that I just tell people what I do when they ask.
I tell my story, things like why I got into NM and what benefits I get from it today.
I let them understand that one of the things I enjoy the most is that it's for everybody and it gives me the opportunity to help others get started. It gives me fulfilment and money in the pocket.

If the other person is at 12 o'clock, they will ask for more information!
  • jlt0wn
    good points, as always.
  • quincy
This really works too. Tried it before. Its almost as if people care more about other people than they do themselves. LOL, good stuff Eric.
  • mrmauriocrawford
The indirect approach. I've never seen somebody put it so simply. Thanks Mr. Worre.
  • This is good timing -- I was recently introduced as a "Network Marketing Professional" - the person I was introduced to, turned to me and said, "So, your a people whore" --( How does one respond to that?) I said, well thats a first, what do you do? After our conversation, and pulling the opportunity away - we set an appointment to meet this coming thursday! -It really works! We move forward when we take action!
  • Jose Lopez
Good tip! I will try it for sure!
  • chocolatelifesaver
Great start for season two's first topic.
Everyone being different it is so important to keep that mindset of not wanting it more than the person you are prospecting. Relationship is monumental to start and you gave a wonderful way to get started talking to someone that you don't know well enough to have their defenses open for this type of conversation. If you respect them, they will respect you enough to consider what you say.

As always, thank you for making the point crystal clear.
  • travelprohawaii
Cool Thanks Eric! I will use it today!
  • Maxwellhealth
Sort of like "Walk Gently But Carry a Big Stick"..in this case the stick being the approach tool at hand CD/DVD/Brochure etc......most people curiosity level will rise providing they "Feel" this is information and not action....the call to action is delivered via the tool's message.
  • lauralopez
Great tip....Indirect questions, it helps me a lot to look for people.
And the people hear me easily.
    Regards
    LAURA LOPEZ

  • Inger
If you ask people to think about other people in stead of themselves they will open their mind to new possibilities...
  • mbryant
    Good basic material....thanks Eric
  • meagankellytorres
I love that. It is so true, it brings people automatic defenses down long enough to consider it. It helps too if you are still in that fear of rejection mode because you're not really asking them, just asking if they know someone. It's a double wammie! They won't be guarded and you won't feel like you're personally vested in their answer. What a winner!
  • Tony
New season. Good to see that the NETWORK didn't cancel the show. :)
  • alltheverybest
    Indirect approach - always better.
  • susanclark
#261 - Anti-Defense Prospecting Technique - Don't forget the indirect approach. It can be much less offensive to some people. They may be looking for an opportunity, but don't want to say so. I need to use this more often.
  • Mailen
Very good advice, I will use it .
    Thank you.
  • krisic
That's a great idea! I love this approach because that is something that we run into often. Thanks!
  • Thanks Eric, great prospecting tips!
  • denisekay
Your words really open our minds.
I know someone who knows someone in Germany! So exciting. Would it be best to go to that someone's facebook friends list and make a friend request?
  • PaulineP
    We are telling the world!
  • That is a great technique Eric and it works very well. People are more likely to open up if they feel like you don't want anything from them.
  • Listened to this again and found something I didn't quite catch last time. Love it!
  • Excellent!!
I'm glad you had that Poll Eric.
Today's message was kind of what I've heard in the past but definately needed to hear it again and I'm glad it came from you. an Expert...

Looking forward to the next video
  • Lorraine
I agree that the indirect approach is the best approach because it takes the pressure of who you are talking too.
  • chipc
This is a good technique. I'm glad you are offering tips on prospecting. That was the category I also selected.
  • daddykekere
I had never thought of prospecting in that manner. Your skill in this demo truly extends the opportunity to the other person out there, even if the person being addressed is not interested, but in a great measure peaks the curiousity of the person approached. Great skill Eric. Thank You.
  • Pete
When we go international....I'll know what to do
  • ChiTownRich
    Hey Eric,

This was very very helpful to prospecting. I can't wait to first use this but also teach it to my team! Wrote down every single example you gave! Thanks so much and keep the information going!!

  • Great advice, looking forward to tommorow's...
  • Great method of getting in front of people Eric. Ask indirectly.
  • Do not pitch your opp to people directly. Try to approach it in this way:
I have something interesting and I think you might now someone
    *who is ambitious,
    * who wants to change their life,
    * someone who needs more money e.t.c.
  • Yes beautiful it is here in Minneapolis! Gorgeous in fact! Good points and yes a sense of humor works as well..i noticed you were "asking" in a light hearted way...sometimes I think people just get too intense with
manner of "asking".."We are looking to partner with people who want more out of their lives. The journey is fun, intellectually stimulating, productive and we work in small teams accountable to and with each other.
    working for us...growing fast!
  • Hai
I will do just that! Thank Eric!
  • ulla99
    Good idea!
  • That could be worth a shot !
  • This is one of the best ways to get the opportunity to speak about the business...presented in a very good way from Eric.
Think about it yourself, how you should have responded if anyone just "forced" anything on you, and all they is talking about is their biz, bla bla bla....you would be annoyed, so don´t do that mistake yourself =).
  • co_dyre
    Eric,

Great video... A nice soft approach...

    Thanks...

    Mark
  • rosslopez
I like this way to approach the people because gives confidence for them to think about many good arguments their current jobs will not give them in hundred years.
I'm gonna try it on the place I work =o) and for sure the 90% of the guys know someone who is really disatisfied with their job :P I'm one of them =S but fortunatelly I know there is a better way to look for my future =o)
    Hugs from Mexico
    Rossana =o)
  • Eric, Good advice. I was working on a small handout for a trade show and I think a capture line may be. Who do you know that I can help solve a problem in their........?
  • keithraines
Thanks you for the advice on recruiting
  • theuns
    Thanks you Eric.

I love what you say and it works , and if it works dontt try to brake it
  • Great video Eric. I love your idea of the indirect approach. It is something that can help people get over their fears in talking with prospects and potential prospects. Thanks for sharing with us all.
    Make it a great day!
    God Bless,
    -ed
  • I have used this indirect approach with very good results. I also use the approach that when they ask what type of person I am looking for - - I describe the exact person and it usually fits them to a "t" Thanks Eric!
  • caronwashington
Will definitely try this approach. Prospects r quick to reject something that they know nothing about or based off an experience that someone else had. EGO n pride
  • Earl
So True! So Good! Who do you know?... Thanks! I am going to use that at least 3 times tomorrow!
  • Darnell
Great approach to reach out to others without pressuring them to feel obligated or react defensively!! Looking 4ward to the next video!!
  • rmonte
Great non threatening way to approach anyone. Easy to do. Thanks Eric
  • tambry
I've heard this before. But glad you brought it up as well, just reinforces it.
  • racingworm
I know what you mean when approaching someone directly or indirectly. If you want to see someone run fast just tell them you have a business that you would like them to check out.
  • TAbrams
I love the indirect approach and will use it.

Great way to get a prospect to not turn up their defense system.

If everyone is more comfortable prospecting then they will do it more often and I think this approach is key. Also love the be prepared for follow-up and always have tools ready.
  • kgadol
    I like it. Thank you.
  • Dave S
I am finding the longer I work in this business the more comfortable I am in not feeling as anxious that I need to convince each and every persoon I meet. If they are looking they will listen.
  • CarlosVera
Great tip, excellent way to raise curiosity...........
  • karenandian
    Eric
This approach is very well received.Thank you for the reminder - it is what we needed to hear!!
  • Arnold Thompson
Great technique, I use it all the time and it works wonders.
  • karivankleef
Great tip. Thanks I am going to begin using it right away.
  • julie67
Another great bit of information! I am ready to try it out. I appreciate you sharing the information in order to help us grow! Yes- spring is finally in the air here in Minneapolis but you never know when we will get more snow here:)
  • Ellis3
Thanks for the tips E. Used this effectively on two of my new people last month!
  • peter79
wow. fantastic technique, one of the best i've heard in a looooong time. thanx for another goodie!
  • onemartymac
Great tip! Thanks time to go recruit!
  • agelfederico
Thank you very much Eric, that is a very cool way to prospect people, it takes the pressure off
  • "Who do you know...?" got closer to the "yes, I do..", and "Well, let's see..." responses. Thanks!!
  • I just wanted to add that this approach works beautifully! Out of 11 people that I personally spoke with today, 8 of them said either, 'Yes, I know some people" or "Well, I do!" when I approached this way.
  • That's Fantastic Patty! Thanks for sharing your success with us all.
    God Bless,
    -ed
  • ericworre
    Nice!
  • Thanks, Eric!
  • Thanks for the prospecting tips today.
  • Thanks for the great refresher course on a great way to break down the defense mechanism Eric.
  • Bernadette
People do get defensive easily. This is a great way to get info in front of someone without putting them on the spot and making them uncomfortable. They can take the time to give it some thought. thanks Eric.
  • pech
Furthermore, when using the indirect approach, a good relationship is maintained.
  • HoracioMejia
I think it is a very effective approach, specially the sentence: "I have something that surely is not for you. You wouldn't even consider it but.....". That kind of phrases gets to our pride. I will start using it. Thank you. With this show I remembered the phrase "MLM is not for someone who needs more, but for someone who wants more".
  • Daniel Glez.Peña
Hola Eric, Every body knows some one who needs more incomes, very interesting.
    Saludos.
    Daniel y Natali, Querétaro,México.
  • theuns
Eric I love what you say and it works , and if it works dont try to brake it i am looking forward to tomorrow info regards
    Theuns
  • coltsco
This is probably my favorite approach and the one I'm most comfortable using. I was just getting ready to call someone and trying to decide on my approach. This video reminded me that the indirect approach with this person will be the correct one to use.
  • Eric, you've done it again! I can't believe that I haven't thought of this before! It's a real powerful tool in prospecting. Finally I've found something to get past that "Hey, wanna try my biz"-concept that I hate and thas hasn't worked for me at all. I listened to todays show two times in a row and I will save this one as a favorite. Thanks Eric, you're the best! /Linda, Sweden
  • martinvf
    nice approach.
"this probably is not for you because I know you love your job and the 12 hour you spend daily there, you don't like to spend time with your kids, you don't want to start an excercise program, you love being with your boss yelling at you..." =o) hahaha kidding.

    Saludos from Aguascalientes, Mexico. =o)
  • kgoren
My husband uses the exact same approach as a headhunter. It is a great way of getting past the defenses right off the bat, and it works!! Thanks for sharing and can't wait for tomorrow's episode.
  • Great way to begin the new series. Effective prospecting is where it all begins. When you ask someone if they know someone, it puts them at ease and we get no rejection! We can also come back to them later if they are not interested. Thanks Eric for such a simple approach.
  • Great approach...very professional and an excellent to attract other professionals into the business.
  • jean_albert
    Great approach, thanks
  • Kjell Englund
Thanks Eric. I just have to try this
  • lauradonahue
Hi Eric. this was great and is good for us who have been here a long time and refuse to quit. Love your
shows and it reallyyyyyyyyyy helps us die hards.
  • Judith Atkinson
    Welcome to Europe!!!!
  • ceci crespo
HI Eric, excellent!! i've tried it rigth away.
the regular question everybody said was: What's about?
  • Eric - great show to start the new series. I think this more subtle approach is essential. It goes back to what you've said before about being a consultant - looking for people that are looking.

Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of gung-ho crap being "taught" by people that have had success by creating a greed fuelled "gold-rush" on the back of mis-truths about their product/service and potential income and that is really damaging to the business as you've said before.

This adult, considered approach is the very best way to invite people to view a tool or attend a 1:1 or group presentation. I think slow is the new fast and it's better for people to work gradually along a pipeline where they can bring as many people as possible with them rather than scaring everyone witless with a witless proposition that undermines the profession.
  • hillin
    Thank you for the tip
  • jpmendoza
Great tool, Thanks for all of your hard work in helping me achieve my goal.
  • MarvinTowler
Great tip Eric! So simple and yet often overlooked.
  • Timely reminder about the third party approach, thanks Eric, Year two here we go...
  • christinaglazar
Thanks for doing all these free training - I am looking forward to tomorrows clip.
  • Ryan
Definitely one of the most important skills to acquire.

  • hcapcarp
People are burdened by so many offers and advertisments that defense is their default response to everything. Therefore, an indirect approach leads to a softer heart. At least, if they do fit the parameters of your approach, envolvement will be their decision.
  • Great way to take the pressure off. I've also heard it started with "This probably isn't for you..." which get's the person thinking "Why not me?"

    Thanks!
  • sjwilliamson
Sounds interesting. can't wait to try it
  • dougharkins
    Who do you know?
  • gillym1
Yes I have found this to be a much less threatening way of prospecting - it seems to work particularly well with women! Thanks for reminding me about this Eric!
  • garyparmenter
I like the indirect approach. Allows the prospect to make it their own idea about getting involved. Always best when it is their idea!
  • This was my primary method when I was a Navy recruiter finding my target market. As a tactic or trick it will have a limited or negative effect on people. You have to be focused on who they know. It works really great too after you have walked someone through a program and they are a no [for now] but they are always very receptive when you ask for referrals. Everyone has a circle of friends who each has another circle. The more circles you can have prospecting for you the more people you will find. I have noticed some people will work harder for someone else's business than for themselves. Might be the job way to be?
  • NANCY Eldred
Eric - Great kick off topic for the 1st Show of Season 2

I've heard this approach before, and I like your example better because it has more substance to it. Just great objective handling all round and it really takes the pressure off everybody, us and them. When we feel more comfortable prospecting, we do it more. I also like your follow through on being prepared to hand out a sales tool - DVD / CD / Brochure etc when needed
  • carolmcwilliams
I have never used something like this take away before. What a great prospecting tip. I will begin to use it and recommend it to my team as well.

Thanks for always providing such value to us all. You are the best!!
  • eddyoshaughnessy
Great start to the new season
  • I agree with @rasdaniels. "What about me???" People never want to feel left out. What a great approach.
  • Miguel Cortez
Love the way to take away from the them in a scent of it not them ur looking for.... thanks Eric
  • dstfa96
Thanks Eric I plan to utilize this indirect approach and share it with my team!
  • MattinJaxfl
Nice indirect approach. Let's people know what you do in a non-aggressive and professional manner.
  • Hey what a great topic for day 1, season 2. We are also coming out of the cold here in the UK.
  • MattinJaxfl
Nice indirect prospecting tip. Even if person you are talking to does not have interest they at least know what you are doing and you have interacted with them professionally.
  • rasdaniels
i really like this Indirect Approach. Makes the prospect think - "What about me"???
  • ah ha! Thanks! Been hearing about this and sharing this too. And now, it proven and shown that ALL these skills still WORK.
I will highly recommend ALL who just join our profession to watch this. And those in this profession for long haul, this is a refreshment.
  • great approach, it can be very effective.
  • GREAT Eric
I like the take away "this probably isn't for you"
  • good stuff!
    ~
  • pollyhulseman
I like it - A little softer approach for the people you might be nervous about approaching in the first place.
  • jerryscribner
    Thanks for the tip
  • Steve_Nelson
Thanks Eric, I've never tried it this way. This makes sense.
  • Tina Perdue
    Just what we asked for!!
  • DianaValdez
Sounds like a good approach. I haven't tried it.
  • Connie Tolton
Thanks - it seems so simple and yet very effective. You mentioned that once you have an interest 'you follow the process from there' - that's the mystery for me. Follow up isn't an issue it's the content of the follow up that's fuzzy for me. I'm guessing that each follow up is as unique as the individual you are followinig up with.

    Thanks again,

    Connie T
  • artdlasvegas
    Thanks Eric, Great insight.
  • yuvalcohen
    Wahoo
    What a wonderful tip.
    I intend to use it
    Thanks

Teaching, teaching, teaching. After listening this entire weekend to the NLP GoPro programs on my IP0d I think I hear Eric's voice in my sleep...oh yes I do, I put the speaker under the pillow. This is good stuff as usual. Thank you.
  • Totally awesome and transferrable information that will help myself and the team members. Thanks Eric.
  • Denise Cox
    so validating! thank you!
  • This approach ABSOLUTELY works.
    Alex Tita
    Here as promised
  • randyhendrickson
Eric, Thank you for this information. I will remember this and use it often
  • Katie N
Thanks Eric.I was one who voted for this topic.I appreciate it.
  • Thanks for this. I have seen this approach work well in the past but had forgotten it. I think this approach can work especially when used in conjunction with 'expanding our business'.
  • Thanks, I'm going to use that twice today when I'm out an about.
  • quintaser
Another great tool, this kind of info helps us to be prepared to take action and to be confident because we really know what to do. The key is to take action and use the tool, what ever it is. We must move, face the situation and depending on it, open our tool box (which is full of great alternatives now) and pick the right one.

Congrats for this new season Eric.

From Puebla Mexico, I am Sergio Quintana, MLM Pro.
  • jeffreyhall
great way to get the defenses down and most often they do not realize what is happening because it takes the action step from them and puts in the 3rd party of helping someone else. perhaps subliminally creates a partnership with them.
  • ;) Do You know ;)
  • Simon_and_Lia_NL
We knew this, but did forget about the indirect approach...
will do it today...and make it a habbit to not forget again.
we also can use this technique on people we already approached, but who rejected the opp...
    thanks Eric.
  • tomlacey
Nice technique to lower pre-concieved notions our our business model.
  • peterragg
I agree with this approach. There are so many people out there looking for additional income streams. Everybody knows someone, whether a family member or friend who is in need of extra money. As time goes by this will only get worse.

    regards
    Peter Ragg
  • mariasiro
    thanks again eric, good point
  • Mark_Abrahams_UK
Note: I earlier posted another response here which concerns NMPRO #14 from back in March 2009 and re: Eric's recent Twitter post (Destroying a major limiting belief in Network Marketing http://ow.ly/1kadE from March 27th 2009). The technology caught me out – I thought I could retrospectively respond to older NMPRO videos.

It's interesting to look back into 2009 and then, to come back to the present and reflect on all that has happened and which will happen.

Concerning this NMPRO #261 – and yes, thinking about it also in context of NMPRO #14, it does help to ask, search and explain things. Such actions lead us to where we want to be...and if that is prospecting then Eric’s suggestions which, for my benefit I list below, are part of the communication to delimit beliefs, in this case using the INDIRECT approach.

So, do I happen to know anyone who is:
    - looking to start their own business?
    - looking for extra money?
    - ambitious?
    - who is money motivated?
    - is someone with a lot of energy?
    - who is looking to increase their cash flow?
    - who is really dissatisfied with the job they are in?
& looking for something on the side, to be able to be able to transition away from that job
    Those sort of questions....
    Prospecting for people who are:
    - Coachable
    - Wanting to change their life....

Then the DVD – it’s not for you......it’s for those other people.

When people then ask ‘what is it?’, ‘let me go and do homework, some research of my own’ – then they may be thinking of NM for themselves – and, for ME (Mark Abrahams), that is what my goal was. Then I need to think through the follow up, the approach from then on. I’M LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO FIT THAT DESCRIPTION. I also note, as a sort of tick-check, that I fit into that profile list. Hooray!

In my experience, the biggest ‘defence mechanism’, the banks of pride which people fight with internally, is based on the people we know who would be great NMPROS saying that they are TOO BUSY to even think about anything beyond the paths they are grooved into, programmed in anti NMPRO mode..

Congratulations on Season 1. How great was that. Here’s looking towards NMPRO Season Two.

“Hey, listen, I’ve got involved in something and I’m really excited about it.”

    Thanks again Eric

    I have to try this
  • That sounds like a great way to approach people.
  • JulianEagles
The main issue is to communicate from the buyer's (prospect's perspective). It's about helping them to discover what is missing in their lives, and helping them to work through the tangle of issues that they need to work through BEFORE they can even consider the business proposition. To often we are so keen to let everyone know of the great opportunity that we have discovered we forget that not everyone is ready to recieve the great news!

This is a great technique to take away the "fear of confronting" prospects with our discovery, but we still need to help propsects to work through their own issues first.

    Another great tip Eric!
  • Ria Leermakers
    I'll start using this today!
    See what happens.
  • Erik
I have tried this , it works:)
I also like Olavs approach, I`ve tried that also and it works like crazy , Ive built an organization in turkey that way :)

I`ve listened to your first 2 CD`s. Great value, looking forward to go thrue all 8 CD`s :)
  • i like that approach!
i will try that one this week!
    Tks
  • wouterdeprez
    Great idea, let's find out!
  • KeithN
Very nice. I will be using that idea.
  • Thank you Eric, superb approach - this also works very well for international sponsoring; "Do you know anybody in Sweden?"
  • bryantkeefe
    Pure Gold Baby!
  • SJ Doug
Thanks Eric I like this approach.
  • Alfie
Another brilliant advice! I and my entire group will apply this one.

    Salamat!
  • gabisahar
    Thanks Eric,
Yes, this is a good one, "do you happen to know...."
  • Foord Yates
Yes, there are many times when this will be a great gateway into getting someone thinking about their friends and to get to know more about the opportunity without the auto-defenses coming up.

    Thanks

    Foord Yates.
  • I think, if you are asking the person "who do they know?" with the primary intent to get the person you are asking to indirectly look into and join your business---the approach lacks integrity and honesty.

The pure intent of that question needs to be for the actual referral. Otherwise it's trickery and people can see through that.

If they decide they want to know what it's for and after it's something they want to look at cool.

If I ask someone "Who do they know." I am honestly seeking a referral from that person.
  • "Who do you know that has XYZ financial concern?"
Just as you teach, the indirect approach dramatically lowers the REFLEX resistance, and hence OPENS the mind.

    Speaking of "you know" ...
Help Wanted: Telepath. You know where to apply.
  • Marion
The Indirect Approach, sounds great - and I can't wait to try it.
Also looking forward to tomorrows show and how to do this with long distance & International prospects.
  • The 'indirect' approach makes a lot of sense. We've all had the experience of approaching people directly who feel threatened by us. They're afraid that they will be put on the spot. Most people don't know how to say 'no' directly and if they accept a direct invitation, then they believe it will cost them something.

By asking if they know of anyone who fits the description of who we are looking for, we come across a lot less aggressive and give them a more comfortable way to bring themselves into the picture (if they are interested), or provide you with some referrals (if they are not interested).

Thanks for including us in the journey. Enjoy!
  • shawncyr
Oh I like that....a lot! I am definitely gonna use that one.
Thanks for helping to take the sting out of approaching some of the people I know.
  • hpena
    As always, great advice.

  • talya_mitzafon
The indirect approach is a great idea. I add it to my tools box.
  • ...Hi Eric,i just discovered NMPRO this weekend...and you've got my juices flowing again. Two yrs. in NM with no business blding success! Looking forward to learning and listening from you and your expertise! By the way i ordered the CD package last night....am excited to listen and absorb the info!! I like your relaxed teaching style.....you take the mystery and fear out of the process. Thanks for the great info tonight on the defense prospecting technique. Haveb a safe and blessed trip to Germany!

  • Sneaky Sneaky. I love it! Indirect methods! This is going to work great for people like me who have created a brand for ourselves in fields outside of network marketing.
  • Bea Resnick
First - Thanks for introducing your son to us. He's a very handsome young man! I'm always amazed that you can give such helpful techniques in such a short period of time. The indirect approach is a great idea.
Have a safe, productive and very enjoyable trip. By the way, I always enjoy the sights you share with us while you're there!
  • turjcxg
Eric, that's brilliant. I had never considered the possibility that someone might want the opportunity but have too much pride to accept info on it. This is a great segue! Thank you again for all that you do for us on NMPRO Eric!
  • billrogers
Congrats Eric on season number two beginning! Looking forward to spending the time with you. This first episode shows how committed you are to helping others. You take the survey and immediately start addressing the issues we forwarded. Thanks so much for listening. The indirect approach to dropping the prospects defense. Great Point!
  • carybennett
Thanks Eric, Back to the old way i've heard.. This is really good stuff as usual.. Just got the Go Pro today looking forward to it..
  • beckydesabah
Great and practical technique Eric, thank you.
    Have a safe trip.
  • These are great tips, very practical. I'm going to try this approach.
    Thank you Eric.
  • Great and well-timed video Eric. I like the "Do you know??" approach as you are right it takes down the defensive mechanisms and in reality it will eventually let us know IF THEY are one of those interested people.
Good Stuff and have a safe trip to Germany.
  • hlj521
THANK YOU! It is always a good idea to get fresh perspectives on prospecting! I will be practicing this approach this week. Thank you Eric!
  • timandtricia
That indirect or buffer approach can work magic. An extension is leapfrogging and concentrating on targeted occupations. The key is the language and posture you use.
  • Tarashon Broomes
i like this approach.definitely will try this.. prospects always have their defenses up
  • Great information I can use this technique
  • Excellent, will use this today. Thanks Eric.
Will also be great for those who 'freeze' when thinking about what to say to prospects.
    Great stuff!
  • Isn't nice when your kids help you in whatever you are involved in? It's like the "good old days" when children learned the parents trade and this one is fantastic!.
This simple tips are what many of us, still new to the trade, need to break the ice. Keep them coming. I will practice this first one all this week and keep adding the ones you have in store, day after day.
I love your CDs. Great job, it's almost like being there!
  • I think this is an excellent technique. I have been told, "It may not be who you know, but who they know....." and this would work for both.
  • Jillian
Great, another approach that I haven't used up front but certainly will start using it soon.
  • rayrios
It is the best take away we can think of. Most people live in DENIAL..not "The Nile...:)
  • Mark from Germany
I was among those interrested in prospecting - tips .. goes to show: this is a live project and the surveys are read .... good stuff, one year gone by and I'm very thankful for all the golden minutes spent here ..
  • Episode 52 of Eric Worre's 100 Episode Throw Down Challenge:

Great technique Eric.. I will do this one on Monday for sure. seems so easy.. I'll let you know how it turns out. until then, Safe travels.

    BB
  • Ha ha. you turned it up a notch from what's on Go Pro CD#5 :-)
  • Some people say no. My response to them is either:
    1. "You know, I'm really disappointed/concerned that if someone asked you this, you wouldn't even think of me"
    2. "Wow. I'd like to be one of *your* friends. They all are satisfied with their income."
  • bethascoli
I've heard of this before but I don't think I've actually used it, and if I did I definitely didn't give them a tool, I probably tried to schedule a meeting! It's nice having you put all the pieces together in the right way :)
  • jlconner
Eric, I have heard this before but I have never used it. I will use this technique this week. Thanks.
  • Pepeneto
Great techinique, when you pull to much people resists, but when you push them away, they want to get in. Why? I dont know, It's just the way it is.
  • I have recently implemented this technique as well as doing way more story telling.
  • anthonyviglietta
Great approach. It's reminds me of the take away. When you ask them - "Do you know anyone who is ambitious, etc?" They are thinking - "Hey! Wait a minute! What about me?"
  • janetrajala
Thanks. Great approach; great tip. It will come in handy.
  • bartonmurray
who do you know...or do you know anyone? great prospecting questions....
  • soxfan071
Great way to get the conversation going. Do you know anyone....? Thanks
  • patrickmcfeely
I use this way, I call it the third party approach who do you know.
Thank you for your time Eric
  • gmeyerson
it's really funny I was going to use this approach today
  • ritafulton
    Oh Eric,
I needed this episode two weeks ago. I am to a "fault" a compassionate sumari..I have the solution and everyone should know it,..not so..the one's that respect you the most...SAY NO!!??!! hurts!..not so sure whether because they do not get it..or because I do not get it??!!
  • Don´t worry about it! Just keep doing it. You'll get it right one day and will be unstoppable!
  • Great tip Eric! I have used that technique a lot, it really does work!
  • carolbarrett
Real simple approach--thanks Eric. Oh, great to meet your son Taylor too.
  • Lisette
I have just finished listning to all the 8 GoPro Pre-release cd
and this is one of the technique that I will try.
I have been indoor all day, well most of it, inspite the sunny spring weather,
but I see it as an investment in me.
And it will pay me back......
  • Great start to Series 2 Eric!
  • Dee_Canada
Great approach and simple. As you have told us in the past, people have a great fear of loss...ie. missing out on soemthing, so by NOT offering it to them directly, you also tickle that little corner of their psychie that say, "why not ME?"...
  • Thanks for this. Needed to be reminded of this technique!
  • germarl
Great info to 'relax and intice'....
  • maariee
    Great advise! Thank you Eric.
  • Cee_G
Hi Eric...Great episode. Basic steps, explained clearly. This was very helpful. I like the "do you know anyone" approach. It takes all the pressure off. Thank you! PS..Handsome looking son you have there!
  • germanjaramillo
    Thanks for this traninng post.

Eric, I have a question, Do you say to use the indirect aproach when talk to people i know? Or to people that i meet casually in some place?

    Thanks, from Cali, Colombia,

    -GJ
  • Excellent Eric - the 'super indirect' works so well - as a matter of fact, Frank Keefer (interview candidate?) built his entire business based on that EXACT approach ... exclusively.

    Best to you,
    Scott
  • I really like the indirect approach and tend to listen more when I am indirectly approached. Asking these questions would get me to think and listen so I feel comfortable using this approach.
  • Pete
Another great tool for the tool chest
  • Gakungu
Great nuggets I have picked up from you, Eric. Thank you. Always looking forward to new information.
  • I love this approach especially when prospecting with acquaintances or cold-prospecting. Very powerful!
  • tyroneholmes
I love that approach. It also relieves the tension coming from the one doing the prospecting.
  • marvalouslife1
I will try it tomorrow morning.

    Thanks for listening to us.

    Ron Ackerman - Israel
  • I’ve seen this work for me before I even knew that’s what I was doing. Who do you know, it works great.
  • It's so funny Mr. Worre. This really is an example a lot of people recognizes in our business, but the times we use this approach.....oh man!!!! Not enough if I speak for myself. It's so usefull that we go back to basic. The K.I.S.S. principles are surviving everything and everyone. Best regards from your biggest fan.
  • Paco_Carreno
Wow! We start with the stuff I love: quick, simple but powerful tips which not only put the prospect's defense mechanisms down BUT the fresh Network Marketing Amateur's self-confidence HIGHER... I'm using this with my team already and they feel comfortable...
  • Edith Kohler
    Ah,this is a good one.
I'm gonna practice it and see what will happen
  • claralondono
    Useful advice, lower resistence,,,thank you
  • eabus
    Great reminder tip thank you.
It is like having them smell the stake and hide it away.
    Eric:
Do you know someone who may need a furrier head for winter?
    Besides me of course.
  • enrique62
    Thanks Eric_ the indirect approach.
  • stellawebber
Oh, Eric, I actually knew this (heard it before), but..., I did always forget to do it this way!
Thanks a lot, I will going to use it from now on.
    Kind regards
    Stella
  • Thanks for this tactics ! It is great, I am doing it and I should do it even more.
  • margarethockaday
    Thanks, will use those approach
  • Jeroen Lingier
    Hi Eric,

Great post on an interesting topic.
I believe this mechanism works like a charm: do you know somebody...?
By the way: Will you be posting extra stuff on every sunday? That would be great.

    Warm regards.
    Jeroen Lingier from Kuopio, finland.
  • I love this approach and seems it would definitely reduce resistance.
  • denagottlieb
Excellent advice. I need to do this more often.
  • Bjorgli
Thanks for reminding. That's really good.
  • osnatbentzvi
