The TRUTH is not many 'network marketer' will experience the BORING part because they QUIT after one or two tries if at all! Either the fear stops them or the lack of confidence or lack of skill. If someone reached the BORING part, it is an achievement.... :-). The reward definitely is not boring. Thank you for your message on helping the blinds to see. It's an eye opener.
  • Jonathan
Haha - if it is boring - it's the best kind of boring to deal with while on the journey to freedom in life. Bring it on.
  • aliceflanders
No, it isn't. Frustrating, yes. Boring? No.
  • Dexter
Where is the log in box?
  • Dexter
Everything you choose to do, no matter what it is has it's aspects of doing it over and over.
At least with MLM, you're not spinning your wheels for nothing; like a JOB.
    Thanks Eric!

    Thanks Eric!
  • Repetitive is boring, but every time is getting better and better, so I don't think network Marketing is boring.
  • something that is duplicable must be simple anyone can do, so that may make it a simple boring task. The results of other things make it exciting....it's a great reminder that we just need to go thru the same basic activities to build it big.
  • heatherbrocklehurst
What do you mean boring? Helping the blind see...we're working miracles here! And sometimes that what it feels like. LOL But, seriously, boring can be good when it's duplicated.
  • JenniferDu79
it is repetative and sometimes boring but so can a 9-5 job be.
  • Simple, not easy!....and yes, done right...i believe it can get boring....the process...BUT, I also think that the other elements of the "profession" can be really "exciting" (good or bad ;-)....I love that you use the word Drama! LOL....SO true!
  • Eric, It's only boring if we think it's boring..always another way to look at something. That's why there are uniforms - one decision you don't have to make every day. May be boring for some - for some it's liberating.
  • Boring can be good!!!!
  • raybeattie
Ahhh, but the people change even if the presentation doesn't.
  • Donna Wheaton
Helping people see the light all the time over and over.
  • jlt0wn
guess I haven't reached that sentiment yet. The industry continually evolves. There is so much to learn and master. Boring is all in your perspective. Thank you.
  • champrix
Boring, but i earn money. Thank you Eric
  • jeanalbert
Boring, maybe, but keep at the boring stuff and start getting some checks in. I bet you that would erase any feelings of boredom quick.
  • julie67
This is a GREAT way to look at the business.
  • robbinsaturniewicz
Yes we have a lot of work to do.
  • Dylan Cooper
Thanks Eric. Yes, it doesn't matter how much you dress it up, there is hard work to be done. Samey, repetative work. That's why we get paid. That's why everybody isn't doing it!
  • veronikakari
you have to do sometimes do in your life boring things, whatever you do, there is always boring part.
  • pech
    Boring maybe, but still interesting.
  • gkamlm
Excellent points, and the end result is well worth it.
  • Lotta
MLM is the first profession I'm about to teach me. Where I can find something new to learn every day.
  • Pepeneto
Oh c´mon you know this is not boaring!! But I catch your point...like some guest said (I dont remember the name sorry) in a past interview, this is like a broadway play, we repeat the same dialogue night after night...but the audience is never the same. That´s make it an amaizing trip.
  • FedericoGrowthsperity
Eric, I absolutely agree with this... I know you called it boring to create a buzz, the real word is, like you said, repetitive... This is the reason why "enjoying the ride" is so critical... its in the everyday "little things" that we become professionals, not by the big time events...

Thanks and happy easter!! (Yes today is Saturday April 3rd)
  • Bea Resnick
To keep it in perspective, there are many, many, many "jobs" that are extremely boring and pay very little. Yet people get up every day and go to those jobs - because they don't know any other way. I can't imagine being trapped in one of those jobs. I am grateful to have "a better way."
  • lauralopez
    Hello Eric!!!
In my case is not boring...I really like and enjoy this job... I like to share with my partners ides, strategies, I like to talk to people regards the bussiness

  • ronaldvandomburg
I think you have to focus on the WHY you do it, in order to be able to continue and to stay motivated
  • I have done it, and I have seen many also to do it. Trying to invent new ways to improve the result. But after a while you always come back to the way your leaders say you should work, because they have also tried all the different ways.
Keep it simple, and listen to your upline, and do the work they tell you to do. Mind, they have a personal interest that you become successful! Learn to trust your upline!
You don't have to like it, you just have to do it!
  • Luis (Pelon)
Even though it is repetitive it is very dynamic because of the person on the other side of the phone, and we have to be flexible enough to adapt to the conditions of the person who we are presenting the opportunity to.
  • billrogers
Great to hear I am not alone in my thinking. In todays society as hectic and fast paced as it is when we do something so simple and repetitive the boring and monotonous aspects take a toll.
  • quincy
I like the way you put it. Ive always heard it as we are just professional sorters. Just sifting and sorting through lots of people finding the people who WANT to learn. Those who WANT to see. And in doing so we've got to be great at doing the boring and mundane over and over.
  • turjcxg
Eric, this was a GREAT show. I quit my previous NM company because I was bored and thought there was something wrong with me.

I wish I could download this as a video to my mp3 video player and take it with me throughout my day. I would pay you good money to be able to do that with many of your shows!
  • Bernadette
Haven't reached the part where it is boring yet, but I am working on getting there real soon! thanks Eric
  • fc34615
    Love your candor, Eric.
    Thanks,
    Fernando
  • rmonte
We bring light to people so that they can make their own choice. Thanks Eric
  • kristibateman
Thank you for all the boring stuff you do....smiles
  • Lorraine
that could be said about many professions.
  • To get to the best things in life. You need to work through the boring, the repetitive, the uninteresting.
  • Makes sense and makes it look simple - just have to remember that it's still work and we have to work it but the benefits are worth it.

    Connie T
  • Edith Kohler
For me it's far from boring yet
I hope it will be boring soon,as in my normal job
Don't have a lot of problems then, and I can do the business more "easily"
  • seija
Every job becomes boring if you are not learning all the time
  • Simon_and_Lia_NL
I do not agree with you Eric, in the learningprocess it is repetative but not boring, like in a traditional job
and the thrill to hold on to, lies in the future...
    thanks for the show!
  • Jessi
    Oh yes!
  • martinvf
MLM es aburrido porque es repetitivo.
Pero hay aspectos del negocio y de la industria que son desafiantes lo cual le da sabor a la profesión.
Si te sientes aburrido en MLM, entonces encuentra un empleo =o) jajaja
  • Darnell
I'm not afraid of repetitive or boring so I'm happy to know this is what it is in NM. I think and feel the same in and same out will only better my skills so let it be this if it's to be this in the business. Thanks for the honest information and insight for those looking for 'a better way'!!
  • beckydesabah
This simple, repetitive and boring process is the heart of our profession and what usually makes us take a step back and quit because not having much success in making others "see" the benefits we are offering makes us frustrated.
    Great lesson... thank you.
  • Eric, I totally agree that we can find the strength to get through the boring repetitive things by reminding ourselves of the great things that they will lead us to when the eyes of the blind are open.
Thanks for sharing this great tip.
    Make it a great day!
    God Bless,
    -ed
  • Professionals practice daily the fundamentals over and over again, but it is worth it.
  • jean_albert
Great point.... St Paul said "Don't grow weary in well doing". Most successful efforts after a while can seem "boring" because of repetition (because they work). We need to build on a Daily Method of Operation that can be repeated every day with basic repetitive activity that generate the successful results we are seeking. Simple, boring, repetitive activity that day by day generate weekly, monthly, successful results. Thanks for the reminder Eric.
  • kgadol
I so appreciate the thought that we teach the blind to see ... some see sooner than others. Some never see. I simply want to get better and better at doing the necessary activities with integrity, power, and strength.
  • hpena
When I was really poor, I couldn't afford new contacts so I walked around with only one contact for 18 months. My depth perception was really off and I winked at everyone when I spoke to them, so no one ever took me seriously. But my life was exciting, I would trip over every curb and staircase, I could read only half of anything and guess what the other half said, etc.

My life completely changed when I got two contacts, I could finally see things as they were and I noticed things I had never seen before (like that I only shaved half my face). But with that new vision, things got "boring". I no longer lived under an unnecessary difficulty that created drama and trauma in my life. I tell you this because if I had to choose between "Blind and Excitment" and "Vision and Repetitiveness" I would choose the latter.

    Nando
  • While NWM can be boring, the repetition is the process to success ! ! The results are well worth the work.
  • mbryant
Very cool show today, Eric! So true...
  • hcapcarp
Like many who've posted before jobs are boring too. The rewards in network marketing, for those who stay the course, far exceed the rewards of a job.
  • caronwashington
the processes of nwm are repetitive but guess what, so are the routines at work! However, the repetitiveness of our business will pay us over and over again for generations to come. I'd rather be here
  • Tarashon Broomes
i agree that networking marketing is very repetitive, but the repetitiveness of networking marketing is was make you successful.. to be successful is anything you have to do it over and over again until you are really good at it and at times it can be boring. great example someone training for a race would run that race over and over again until they can improve their time, same with the business you will continue building a list until u meet the right people (power of #'s)
  • Great and unusual message Eric, thanks.
  • crwood1967
Isn't all of our jobs repetitive? Very few people have creative jobs that change everyday. It's one person at a time.
  • Irina
Repetitive? - yes! Boring? - no!
It is boring if the audience is the same....
  • CarlosVera
You're right, repetitive action does get boring after a while, but when you know something new might come up through that repetitive action it actually gets interesting and exiting. I'm still new in the profession and it's still very hard for me to approach people to make them realize about their blindness, so I guess I will not get bored until I find it easy to do it every day!!!
  • bartonmurray
same thing different day while working from home and having the time of my life...
  • Inger
Most professions have parts that are boring & repetitive. It's the new people part, the part of helping other people reach their dreams and reaching success that makes this profession great!
  • travelprohawaii
I love the truth that you give. After hearing all the hoopla from before of riches almost over night. I love knowing that working through the repetitive process is all we need to be successful, makes me understand why it is the BETTER WAY!
  • As I went through my day I found myself looking at people with blinders over their eyes....it helped me feel more compassion than frustration.
  • tyroneholmes
Thanks Eric I like the way you just make it simple.
  • jlconner
Thanks Eric. I realize it is boring but I am going to try my hardest to continue and to find excitement in the results.
  • theuns
    Hi Eric

Going to work every day were you just get a fix pay ever month is more Boring than helping people to see and have a increase on your Bonus or Commission every day or month :-) great Video.

  • Ryan
some time gotta take the blinders off myself! lol!
  • susanclark
#269 - Network Marketing is Boring - Very profound statement. I must accept the repetitve and boring part of my business and help people who are blind to see. In the long run this will help me lead to a better way of living. Great thought.
  • Jeroen Lingier
I concur to what Doug said.
All jobs have boring parts, but there is no job that pays you residual income for doing those boring things;-)
We have a better way, people!
    greetings, from Flanders, Belgium
  • mrmauriocrawford
This is so true. My problem along w/ most network marketers... is trying to keep yourself from trying something new.
  • just when I was about to throw in the towel!
  • rayrios
Repetition Is The Mother of Learning, as boring as it can get, It's worthed. If it was easy to do, we would not have an opportunity. Thanks Eric.

  • talya_mitzafon
Network Marketing is all about relationship with people. Relationship with people cannot be boring. As a network marketer I feel that I have a present to give to people. If they don't want to take my present I keep going to look for other people who will take my present. Giving presents to people is not boring.
  • queennaxen
Thank you x 100. It's a relief to hear someone successful in this business what I've been thinking and say that it's okay. The frankness is refreshing.
  • pollyhulseman
It may sometimes be boring, but there is the thrill when someone gets it and that makes all the boring times worth it!
  • rebeccar
Yes....that is the hardest thing is to do the same each day but the rewards are the greatest...thanks
  • PaulineP
Every business requires repetition of some sort BUT it is NOT BORING. What I have learned is the huge unprofessionalism of the people we meet. When people email or state plainly they are not interested, I love it. It is a sorting business.
  • germanjaramillo
Well i'm not sure that our profession is boring, neither the activities we have to do. Becuase in my case, the most thing i like to do in my life is this profession.

I really like to talk to people, i really like to now somebody every day. So...for me Network Marketing profession is not boring. It is really fun.

    Today from Costa Rica, Colombia,

  • jerryscribner
    Boring is profitable!!
  • Oh my God, Eric. This is probably one of the best short video you have done on NMP. I never thought of it like you said as "boring" but you are so right. This is why Network Marketing can be so difficult for a lot of us. The people that take a look at Network Marketing are so used to doing the same thing over and over again in their J.O.B.'s (Just Over Broke and Satisfied) when they take a look at what we do they THINK it is so unfeasible when in reality they are used to being "bored" and they just don't GET IT!
  • alltheverybest
Better to be bored and wealthy than amused and poor!
  • bethascoli
Yes, it can be boring at times, but you make it SO much more interesting! :)
  • I have watched this video 3 times so far! I have NEVER thought of it like this....and yes it has given me enlightenment as to why I have so many professionals start to stop using our system...they are rewarded in their other careers for their innovativeness and initiative and creativity-thinking out of the box..not staying in..and our business requires the opposite set of skills -especially in the beginning stages! WOWOWOWOWO
This video will become part of our system! Thanks so much Eric...I'm going to view again and read the other comments...what incredible insight!
  • Totally agree with you on you post Elizabeth. People want that "instant gratification" from doing their professional activities when they see what we do and it doesn't happen "immediately" for THEM, they WILL QUIT...
  • 268: You must be joking! Meeting new people, discovering new places, building momentum and building our future and our teams! Emotions, ups and downs, self development makes it so amazing!
It is every day another day that do not look the same than previous one!

I have worked previously in top management position in some of the top 500 company in the world and yes, putting reports together, looking at new ways of optimization, getting rid of people, this is booring! Not MLM!

    Thanks

  • Agneta Rebo
Repetetive, yes, but with new people, and they make it interesting and exciting.
  • I totally agree that the monotony that comes along with network marketing can definitely become boring over time. However, I also am a firm believer that repitition is the mother of all skill. When sitting down and actually analyzing what it is that we do, would a person rather do 20 years of monotonous back breaking work with absolutely NO pay raise in site. Or would you prefer to perform the monotonous tasks that come with network marketing and make a million dollars per year?
  • Great "analogies" Rhandell, and totally agree. Being stuck at a 9-5 JOB or the "corporate rat-race" to me is what is boring. We have to take our NWPro Career and make it "fun" and yes it will be repetitive but you know what - "IT WILL BE WORTH IT." - Good stuff!
  • carolmcwilliams
Yes, I do find it boring to go over the same thing. But unless I make it simple others won't want to do it. Where I find the challenge is to get good enough so I can be very profitable. Now this is challenging, and until I master the flow to be very profitable then It has not gone stale. I recognie that it doens't take allot of brain power to understand Network MArketing but it take tremendous growth and personal development, and for this reason I find this whole profession quite a mystery to unlock as 90% fail. Wow that is a high number.

    Thanks Eric for your honesty.
  • Good stuff Carol - The reason there is a "high" percentage who don't make it is because they "don't stick" it out long enough. They come in with the "lottery mentality" and the fact is their ID Number is NOT A LOTTERY NUMBER. You are right it does take tremendous growth and personal development.
  • I accept the repetitive. I am going to be 10 years older in 10 years time and life is repetitive enough. Might as well become financially free by doing something that is challenging but repetitive - especially when it is helping others.
  • Earl
Some might choose to look at the thing that we get to do over and over as boring, rather than seeing what we get to do for that new person. Think of the benefit to that new person who you help to see something new... like a new way of doing business that can produce freedom and choices. That doesn't see seem boring to them or me. Then again, try washing 150-200 windows a day, for 15 yrs. You have to find fun in the repetitive without changing the repetitive.
  • coltsco
Repetitive, yes.....boring, sometimes......but oh so rewarding!
  • Most successful business people develop a system that is profitable to them, and they do it over and over again. Sometimes the economy or the market will dictate changes to their system, but typically the only thing that changes over the years is the people that pass through the system.

Everyone's heard the old saying 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it!' That's the deal with our industry. Find something that works for you and keep doing it over and over again. Find excitement in other areas of your life. Thanks, Eric!
  • Some great thoughts dananddebbie. Most successful enterprises if you look at it is "boring and repetitive" - Just look at McDonalds!!!- Everything the same, "french-fries on the left- drivethrough beside it. All their buildings are nearly all the same but the "inner workings of a franchise" keeps it the same- Always - That's what makes it so successful. Good stuff!
  • Absolutely! What's good for the 'big boys' is great for us. Enjoy!
  • And is FUN too! ;-)
  • SJ Doug

  • SJ Doug
Boring yes, sort of like a repetitive job that does not have an un-limited upside.
So give me boring everyday because in the end I will have my freedom!
  • hillin
Less boring than a bunch of tv shows that a lot of people follow everyday for about 10-15 years.
  • Ellis3
OMG ... yes!!! It is boring and yes, I have been guilty of trying to do ANYTHING to make it more fun, but I do get it Eric. We got to get good at the boring stuff, so that the fun stuff can come again!
  • TAbrams
Love it... We help blind people learn how to see. Sometimes our business could be viewed as boring, going through the repetitive motions. However, the more times we go through the process, the more people you are exposing and the bigger your organization will grow.

Just as farmers go through the repetitive process of sowing the seeds, caring for the crops, harvesting the crop season after season, year after year, generation after generation, we must build are business.

The system is proven and our journey in this profession is far from boring!!
  • Like the "analogy" of "sowing the seed" and we will reap a great "harvest".
  • Awesome show Eric. Reminds me of a tape (yes cassette tape) I have by Richard Kall called "Just Don't Quit", which I listen to a few times per year. On it, he says the key to success is basically, 'How many people can you talk to every day?' ...just learn the basics and do them over and over and over. Simple - yes ... boring - yep ... BUT, very profitable if you just keep it up!

    Best to you,
    Scott
  • Hi, my name is Rosie Bank. I am loving these videos and am sending my entire organization to watch them.
I am with a different company and offer these videos on my blog!
My new book on Network Marketing is called You, Inc. and is in final production. I am visiting other blogs to say hi, to connect, and to help people find me. The book makes no mention of my company so that it can serve a larger audience.
Thank you, Eric. You rock, man!
  • Eric,
Maybe that is a problem. I get bored fast. But if I learned from you last week and do this in 15 minute sections I might not get bored. I'm going to try that moving forward.
  • Working a 9-5 is boring but MLM is like life on fire! Everyday is an opportunity to work toward building your business. That's why its so lonely at the top. Most people have it backwards.
  • I've never been bored with MLM. Courage.. we can talk about. Repeat, repeat, repeat... that's why the 3% are the 3%! I WILL be in the 3%!
  • Dave S
I will never find it boring when I know the next person I meet could be the person who's blindness I heal.
  • georgeman
    I can barely muster up the energy to type th i s....... c o m m e....n...t.............goodnight.
Boring indeed, but my day job isn't exactly skydiving, or Alaskan crab fishing either. Since when did supporting my family have to be similar to jumping off a bridge with a bungee around my ankle? I have a conventional business during the day, and the only time it's not boring, is when a customer comes in and refuses to pay for services rendered. I'll take the boredom, thank you. Thanks Eric, great one.
  • Lord you are right....it does epitomize tedium many days!
  • karenandian
Practice, Practice & Practice. Any skill requires practice to become great! Time gives you the experience, practice gives you the refining of skills. Eric is a perfect example - 22 years and still working on repetition. Eric - you are a leader by example!!Thank you!
  • dstfa96
Eric you are absolutely right...what my team and I do is very repetitive and once we master the repetitive process that repetitive skill will pay us a significant amount of money and its going to provide us with financial freedom, we will live the lifestyle of our dreams and create generational wealth...:-)
  • Life is boring man, no matter what you do for money I am sure there is always the boring aspects to it. Heck I was watching a documentary of my favorite 70's group the other day... Led Zeppelin... and with all their fame and fortune even they got tired of the mundane, the touring and long hours away from home. I heard the same of The Beatles... life will always be boring, at least in parts.
  • meagankellytorres
"Master the mundane" like one of my mentors say. It is repetitive but it is so worth it. Helping blind people gain their vision. What a fulfilling experience.
  • mspaulamc
That was an incredible episode .. I enjoyed it a lot - I can remember hearing one of my mentors in MLM talk about how you have to first master the program and then do it over and over and over again ... don't get too fancy .. just duplicate and contact a lot of people to run it all by .. doing it over and over and over again ..

A lot of people quit because they don't see immediate results .. notice Eric said he has been doing this for 22 years .. I thought that was cool because it is proof positive where it all ends up IF you don't quit :)
  • onemartymac
Lather, Rinse and Repeat... yep its boring but it is great!
  • emmettb
You didn't tell me this would be boring! I didn't sign up for that!!! :)
  • tambry
Every job or industry out there has its repetitiveness. But Network Marketing has so many rewards compared to other jobs.
  • karivankleef
I am really wishing for the first time that it was boring for me. I still have a lot to learn and haven't found any part to be boring yet.
  • brianhepner
Boring but still the better way.
  • Boring? I will tell you what's boring! Sitting in an assembly line, or standing in the same spot at a machine doing the same thing minute after minute, hour after hour, day after day, etc etc.........it may be boring but at least like you Eric, we get to move around this wonderful world, doing the same boring repetitive stuff! So I will take the repetitive boring life of a Network Marketing Pro anyday over the life of the hourly worker stuck in the same place for a whole career! We definetly do have a better way.
  • margarethockaday
That is so true, but the rewards are worth it.
  • Dee_Canada
I know it's true...but in reality, nearly any job becomes repetitive over the course of years. The reality is that nowhere else pays you so well if you become GOOD at it!! :0)
  • denisekay
    boring with a smile..
  • ericworre
Yes, boring with a smile :)
  • Awesome message today Eric.. However, I think and I'm sure many others would agree that doing the same mundane activity for 1,3,5, 7 years is much better than doing the same mundane activity for 40 years working 40 hours/week and not being able to retire. I prefer the 1, 3, 5, 7 plan and as you always say Eric, it's a stone cold fact that we have a better way, now let's go tell the world!!
  • karenandian
    Absolutely the Truth!!!
  • Hello everybody,
Perhaps the part of the meeting or presentations is boring however gets really fun and excited to see people reactions to the opportunity, see how many decide to stay "blind" no matter how many times or how you explain it to them. On the contrary the ones that join us in this journey wow we get amazed about the possibilities.

    Sisniega
  • ericworre
Great idea to also offer your comment in Spanish. Thanks for that!
  • Ria Leermakers
    Great show.
Let's go and be as boring as we can!!
  • jeffreyhall
The way to hone any craft is to do it over and over and over. Look at some of the greatest musicians. How many times has Sir Paul McCartney sung Yesterday and on and on over and over?
  • ericworre
    That's it. You got it
  • Our skills in NM come from doing the same things over and over. It's the same way in anything really, its all about the seat time.
  • How true are your words today. Network marketing is repetitive if you are to grow your business. Being creative to make it more interesting usually does not work. I have tried it and found that I need to keep following my teachers lessons in doing the same things over and over until they become habit. Thank you, Eric for reminding me again to follow what works and keep doing it over and over!
  • Lisette

    Yes, sometimes it´s boring, but
    That´s life!
If everything is cheerful all the time,
we would´t appriciate the good times.
  • yitz613
It's true, although we do the same things over and over again, remember: "Repetition is the mother of skill"
And as you say, "it's all about the skills"
  • YES! It is boring, at times frustrating, difficult, though and very hard work..and if you are an amateur it will always stay that way...
BUT.. If you become a Networkmarketing PRO this will be so fascinating, developing, liberating, wonderful and give the freedom to do whatever you want.
That´s why I totally LOVE this business :-)
  • artdlasvegas

Repetitive true, but the many challenges offered as you go along the repetitive path offers much personal growth and rewards.
  • What is not ripetitive? Boring, of course, after a while, maybe. But if you are repeating a convincing process and are successful I doubt one would get tired of doing it.
  • WOW, my comment went somewhere else... I suppose it will appear later.
And... no, it is not boring. I have done it for a long time many years ago and I am doing it now again.
The challenge in each case makes me excited.
  • racingworm
Anything can get boring if you let it get that way. Professional Fishing or Professional Golf can be boring too, but if it's something you really enjoy doing than you find different aspects of it that make it not so boring. Ask a Professional Football player how much he enjoys getting up at 4-5 am and working at being the best he can be and I'm sure he would say the rewards are worth all the boring parts. Good point Eric
  • Bjorgli
Boring?!? Perhaps, but the people are different and so are the reactions, so -------
  • This video was absolutely awesome!!! ANSWERED MY LONG TIME QUESTION OF "WHAT DO WE DO?!" We help blind people seeee!!!!

Hey everyone .. on my quest to become a pro tennis player, at age 12, I spent about 2 hours a day serving and the other 2 hours hitting forehands and backhands against the wall of our neighbours tennis court until the paint and the cement ed falling off one day .. a five - set tennis match can sometimes be gruelling and boring for the player, having to hang in there for long phases for his chance .. in the meanwhile the crowd goes nuts and thinks its all great .. some people are watched, yet most watch .. in the lockers the player might be tired .. and very fullfilled having won .. its a long journey from learning not to tank, then experiencing the hardship of choking on doing your best without excuses and losing .. then you learn to love the battle .. and the world seems set for you ..
  • ericworre
Hey man! Thanks again for the lesson. Marina and I went to play yesterday and I didn't quite have the confidence I had with you. :) I guess I'll have to put in the time to develop the skills. Sounds familiar huh?
  • Mark from Germany
Hey Eric ! - You're very welcome ! - I was just giving back to you a bit of what you have given me already ..

Time for skills ? - Sounds familiar, yes ;) .. A practice wall may be a great partner for you right now to set up an "artificial situation" to "grove your stroke" as we say in tennis and be able to spend focussed time with only your very own basic technical needs. It will confront you to go through everything in your mind what we did - but by yourself - and will grow your skill in a shorter period of time, compared to playing on the court, where you have everything at once. You said it that day: "muscle memory". For that you need one situation and high repetition. Then go to the next step. Confidence, and the door to the next level, comes when you realise you can actually control the motions and the outcome at will and coincidence vanishes .. sounds familiar, huh ? ;) - Have fun you two !! -

As long as you remember your motivators and your dreams, presenting gets less boring (although sometimes going through the process itself is an achievment). Not easy, by the way. The stories you experience and the ones you help create, make the "boring" part worth the try.

  • Yes Eric
Boring at times yes, But It sure beats saying " Welcome to McDonalds May I take your order?"
  • jpmendoza
After you do anything often enough it will get boring, but you just have to keep going.
  • There is a quality to network marketing that is similar to being part of a long running play on Broadway. Getting there is a lot of work on the road in one town after another. If you make it to Broadway and shows every night and matinee's on weekends... You have to operate inside of the same kind of, I have done this a 1000 times, but who is in the audience has never seen it before! Perhaps allowing the boring to show through is what has people say no. Being the best performance, every performance, is a skill as well.
  • ericworre
    Exactly
  • So important to discover that creativity can actually slow us down or get in the way of this part of the process. The people and relationships and results are worth the boring steps.
  • Katie N
I really thought this was a great point you made today. This aspect is something I can live with, once I learn the business.
  • patrickmcfeely
Everything is boring at sometime, but if you want to get to the top what do you do?
Thank you for your time Eric

Boring...it's never 'been' so much fun, nor paid so well. A+ Video once again! (corrected post : )
  • I think it's exciting, especially when leads are calling me to get more info about my business. How boring can that get? Now I can understand where Eric is coming from there is repetition in Network Marketing. But if it doesn't excite you to get up and make the calls or follow up with others, then it's time for a new profession.

Perry Marshal Recently wrote it needs to be "Exciting-Fun-Lucrative" If it's not go back and get a job.
Each new person you talk to is a new and exciting opportunity.

Go out and make it fun, get excited about contacting new people. Get excited about the fact that the next person you meet can be the next Eric Worre.

A JOB is repetitive and boring, that's why I left. Assembly line jobs are boring, my old JOB at the post office was boring. Working on Financial Freedom is not boring, it's exciting to me....
  • Hi Eric! I'm so glad you brought it up, I actually thought about it a few days ago. I'm still in the beginning of my career so I still love sharing the idea of NM. But I was thinking about how it would be in 1-3-5-7 years from now. And I was wondering if all of you professionals never got, at least a little bit, bored doing it over and over and over again. I feel comfort that it is okay to feel a little bit bored but for now I'm still so in love with this concept that it doesn't matter. And no matter what, I'll just keep doing it over and over and over. NM is the greates thing I have ever discovered and I feel fortunate to have found the right company! /Linda, Sweden
  • I think the business part of it can be boring however the personal development that happens (and how can it not)is so empowering that you can look past the boring moments
  • juanfernandogutierrez
I can´t agree, it is repetitive, but boring?mmmm, I feel so motivated that I have never been bored; in fact, in addition of the calls, meeting, etc, I do friends, help other people.

I worked for 14 years in traditional business; that is boring, the same thing every day, behind a desk, boring meetings, boring same conversations.

    I love this profesion!
  • lorijones
Eric, what I love about what we do is the challenge of learning more about each person we are sharing information with. Everyone comes from such a unique background with different belief systems. Knowing what questions to ask and really listening to what they are telling us is fun for me. I truly believe that this is a personal growth business, and if we can help people to see that there is a better way and they accept the challenge it's fun if not, hopefully we've made a friend.
  • And yet, Network Marketers talk about freeing people from their dull dreary repetitive jobs.:)
  • Ernesto_Busnelli
True Eric, sometimes I feel like a record stuck in replay but honestly, after 20 years in my profession
it became a grind too, it is a wonderful profession but everyday lately was near painful and if I said what it is it would sound unbelievable so I will not say what it was... ha ha ha
  • BetterCoffee.dk

    Well said Eric.
I think it's one of the hardest issues for me.
I'm used to constant challenges and learning curves.
Repetitive action really kills me sometimes.

    BUT the REWARDS!!!!
  • As far as I know in EVERY profession there are some boring aspects, some repetitive actions that professionals do over and over and over. But those boring actions bring expected results, and that's what we want.
  • dougharkins
Most jobs in life are repetitive and boring, the difference in Network Marketing is we receive residual checks repetitivly : )
  • latachia_2
Network Marketing is Boring! I think maybe it might be a little ,but it also can be very challenging. As you said, sticking with the system,Taking people from blind to being able to see.
Contacting, inviting, presentntation, exposuure process & the training people to be leaders.
So far,any job I ever had becomes boring after you get good at it.But that does not mean that there's is'nt (was'nt )many challenges along the way, that goes with it.Sooooo,I'm looking forward to the time when it does in fact become VERY BORING. That will in fact mean I've come to the point that I'm as good as Eric Worre.Eric, you are the BEST! Thanks for all of the good info you give us daily& all of the encouragemnt as well.
  • Great video Eric! I must admit when I first started my network marketing journey I used to think it was boring. But when I started doing personal development, and changed my attitude everyday. It became so much fun!
  • MarvinTowler
Great reminder again Eric! There is so much greatness and excitement in the network marketing profession and, and... it is boring and repetitive. But you know what? So is swimming laps in the pool everyday, and so is hitting golf balls everyday, or running around the track everyday. But that's what Pro's do! They do the things that make them successful!
  • This is a complete message.
You let us know what the message is, right up front, took us through the steps to briefly explain it, re-told it to us in a story fashion, told us your reason why, painted the emotional vision and curiously invited us to watch tomorrow's show. All with convision and passion.
    Eyes wide open.

It is all about the process. For me, it is like comparing dominoes and chains. An inferior NWM process (or going off on a tangent) is like the dominoes (not the game, the end-stacking) fun- until one falls. Repeating a strong NWM process is like the chain.. link by link, section by section, only the growth is exponential (multiplication), not linear (addition).
  • When you see your prospect's eyes widen, the rest is unimportant. I thought doing "boring" was a mistake but how can you duplicate otherwise? I love being able to help others and, at the same time, benefit from it in so many ways...
  • agelfederico
Everything in life might have boring moment or activities we all have to go by or do, however, the fun part of life and NWM compensates for this little boring moments, and thats what is all about. Have a great day.
  • Miguel Cortez
The fun part is when you are Showing the bussiness. that not Boring.... Get people to the Event is not boring.... Overcome problem is not boring..... Personal growth is not boring..... I guess it all depend on what u see.... :)
  • chipc
boring and frustrating when some people just don't get it. but the personal growth and potential make it worth it.
  • stephaniesterling
Eric, wow! It amazes me as we grow in our industry, as we grow in life and people skills & become more open minded, learn to trust our intuition, and listen to the messages that are delivered to us in the form of life lessons through experiences and daily circumstance and learn to trust the journey .... each day the right message at the right time will reaveal itself to us.

It's quite interesting to me that prior to watching today's video I had just finsihed a weekly coaching call with one of my key leaders and we were just discussing this very topic, and how whether it's a prospect, a new business partner, a business partner of several years ... or ourselves, our eyes open we see exactly what we need to understand when we're ready for it.

If we listen, and trust we'll notice it happenes each day ... sometimes several times a day. And if we pre-judge, we sometimes miss the important message, become it might come from an unlikely source.

It's a joy to experience what you have described each day and once one lets go of what we 'think" we need (money, etc) and come from a place of service, the things you 'thought' you needed will track you down.

Thank you for being who you are, sharing your passion and the journey with all of us!
  • Marion
My other job is also boring - but the rewards in NWM are worth it.
I can't wait to give up the other job!
  • keithraines
This was an aha moment fo me because I am one that has become bored with th process.I have spent time looking for ways to jazz it up. Nice to know that its not necessary.

  • Now I haven’t done this for 20 plus years but I just don’t see it as possibly ever becoming boring (for me). I’ll have to chime in on this one again in 20 but it just seems more fun to me, but I can see how the day to day work could be considered boring.

But the lifestyle it offers sure ain’t boring. ;)

”was blind, but now I see” in my head so I punched it into google and found this, enjoy friends:

The work may be boring , but the people are certainly not !!!
  • timandtricia
Sounds like a good goal. Be so engaged in the repetitive activities that that work becomes boring. The more people you help see the greater your success. Pretty cool but boring life.
  • Matt Genet
It may be boring but the freedom it creates is the most exciting thing in the world!
  • my full time business/job is the exact same thing...same activities done day after day. the higher the activity, the greater the rewards, even in tough times.
  • Paco_Carreno
from darkness to ligth... I am a Personal Trainer and can deal with repetition... Actually most of our life we're swimming in routines... Don't panic! no every routine is about to kill your joy, your relationship or similar... Human beings we all need some routines to stay alive... Try to understand yourself as a NMP so you have this every-day-stronger-skill set that you put into action over and over an over again... Come on! we all complaint about anoying surprises at work... We must be happy with the idea of this pattern ha ha ha... 22 years doing it my friend Eric? You've paid the price so you have the lifestyle. Thank you for your sincerity. I think I'm gonna love this boring career!
  • Eric, you are so right but so are most jobs! Most people aren't doing what they love and are sitting at the same repetitive routine without anything to show for it. great show!
  • bryantkeefe
One of my challenges is accepting that success comes from repeating action items, that work, again and again and again. The "boredom" you mention is where the wealth is. Distractions will create a low balance in the "asset" column and a high balance in the "busy" column. Do the boring stuff today and be rich tomorrow.
  • yuvalcohen
    Hello Eric.
Network marketing is repetition of the same actions over and over.
But beauty where we always meet new people.
When I went to people's curiosity and learning approach to recognize the people I enjoy every minute of it.
It's one of the most part, fun business and I met.
I years in the business of network marketing. And every minute of it I enjoy, learning, personal development, etc.
  • MagnusEdvald
Yes and the same description would fit most jobs. So if we make sure that we always see what we do in the context of our goal and the larger picture then it should not be more boring that most regular jobs.
  • ybimbalanced
Well Said!! I think some people expect it to be fun and interesting all the time, but you're right, sometimes it is boring. But the fact is, we have to do the repetative stuff in order to get to where we want to be. Thank you so much for bringing REALITY back into training for this business.
  • Bryan_in_KC
Driving long distances is sometimes boring, but if you take your hand off the wheel for too long, or worse yet, go to sleep, ...... you crash. Network marketing is very similar, it may be boring, but keep steering your course and stay awake!
  • Great analogy, Bryan!
  • I'll take boring over the fun and excitement of consulting any day! Great simple message, Eric.

    Thanks
  • mariasiro
Oh yes, I agree, sometimes it is boring, but it is worth it anyway....
  • kgoren
What job isn't boring? Most people do get bored with their day to day jobs. At least in network marketing, not only can you get rich from doing something over and over and over again. A change of scenery and meeting new friends is the best.
  • Boring but rich.
    Fired up and focused!
    Alex Tita
    Here as promised.
  • enrique62
You are the best. You tell us as it is and you take the mystery out of Network Marketing.
  • Hai
Is that what it is? Never thought it that way before... I do enjoy the fun aspects of doing different things to keep my attention until I am bored, or unmotivated with the process. Hummmm. Interesting aspect to ponder about NM...
  • claralondono
Eric, you have a tremendous ability to "pinpoint" some bothersome aspects of this business and today´s message is as real as it can get !! Thank you so much.
  • chriskemp817
I can deal with being bored. All the way to the bank!
  • carybennett
So very true and simple. I like the blinder analogy also Thanks again Eric.
  • Repetitive NM work is Boring but at the end of the day, I LOVE the Outcome..the Comments..Knowing I've Helped Someone..that comes out of it. It makes you feel so good and accomplished that it makes you Smile.
  • That's probably the hardest thing to accept, we have to keep doing it over, and over, and over... For those of us who get that and are willing to keep doing that no matter what, we are the ones who end up being successful. You are setting a great example just with this site, I'm sure that there are days when you don't feel like posting a video but you do it anyway, everyday, without fail. Thank you so much for your leadership and your example of what it takes to be ultra successful in this profession.
  • ritafulton
True freedom versus "boring" sounds like a "no brainer" however, I can find it difficult to pick myself up on some days.
  • Jose Lopez
Oh my, what a relieve Eric !! I thought I was the only one at that. I totally agree. The repetitive side of it, IT IS BORING !! It's boring to answer the same questions over and over again. It's boring to handle the same objections over and over again. It's boring to see people resisting to follow a system over and over again.

To me, it all makes sense when you see someone eyes light up with hope, when you see people work on them selves and change their entire lives. That's what gives me the energy to go out and start the process all over again.
  • There is nothing more satisfying than doing the same old boring stuff over and over and over again, for even just a split second when someone says "thank you for helping me see the light".
If it were fun then everyone would stay. Only the fittest survive.
    Keep it boring I say!
  • Foord Yates
I laughed when I read the title of the email for this video! It said:
    "NewsFlash! Network Marketing is boring!"

    Hilarious!

    Now its time
    to help them see
    we have a better way!

    Foord Yates.
  • Jillian
Yes it is BUT if you compare the work involved in most jobs - everything becomes mundane and boring. I think the component here that makes it different is that everyone is different and so the reaction is different and each exposure has its own slight variation and flavor even if the result is "yes" or "no".
  • What would you rather have a boring job and a fixed income or time freedom in network marketing that the work may be a little boring. Yes you have to do the same thing over and over again but better than sitting in a cubical.

Loving our 6 figure residual income and the time freedom. That is NOT boring!!!!!!!!!
  • nikigombis
Making leaders is the secret. Otherwise, we become babysitters.
  • drmikempa
I agree. Duplication is a boring process. That's what makes this industry so fantastic. Do one thing, and be paid multiple times.
  • FrankMarshman
Once I have been in for 23 years I can probably relate. Sorry not yet
  • A JOB is boring and will make one Just Over Broke, yet network marketing, though boring, will make one financially free. Give me network marketing any day
  • wouterdeprez
Maybe it's a good thing when it's getting boring, because then you mastered the process!?
  • krisic
Yes, it does tend to be boring, I think that's why I tend to get distracted easily. Plus I like to be creative, it makes me happy. But I am learning that I don't need to be all that creative, just consistent!!!!
  • Gakungu
Interesting topic today. However, that is true. Network marketing tends to be boring. Especially when you have to plug into meetings and see the presentation over and over. But what gets me charged up is other people's stories and I end up thinking and believing if they can do it, I can do it.
  • rmgmag
I think I could get over the boredom if I could ever get to that stage. lol
  • Pete
Boring can make it easier. It's like being on autopilot and the more more you do those boring things, the better you get at them.
  • Jennifer
I think a more open way of looking at this is to remove the boring, and stick with just the fact - it is repetitive. I don't see it as boring. Some people thrive on repitition. My $.02 worth!

Love what you're doing, Eric. Thanks!
  • NANCY Eldred
Thank you for saying so - I love your honesty -

All jobs have their moments of boring - so why should NM be any different ? It shouldn't.
  • carolbarrett
Boring, boring so let me be more bored!
  • maxwellrand
Hmmm.....boring to introduce, enlighten. influence......Eric there may be hints of repetitiveness but when I see so many who sit behind a steering wheel for hours on end, or in front of a cashier for hours, or write RFP/RFQ over and over or, or ,or,....you get it....surgeons will practice a technique over and over to improve effectivness...astronaughts will repeat for hour on end the removal of a bolt for hours/days before space flight.....that's the great part of our business...daily ability to introduce, enlighten, influence and watch the eyes ignite with a determined glow/fire....now that's exciting:-) and oh ya..when sitting on the deck fo the boat, or at the top of a mountain, or aiding in an orphanage that experience to was facitited by those you introduced, enlightened and influenced!
  • peterragg
Most jobs are boring, ours is different in the buzz you get when one of your new prospects "gets it" and becomes successful through you is so powerful, its like a drug you are looking for the next fix, (in the nicest possible way). Someone says "thank you Peter for introducing me to this awesome business, you have changed my life" Now that is priceless.
    Kind regards
    Peter
  • julie67
Boring is OK! After being involved in CRAZY for 20 years, boring is NICE!
  • Yeah, let us be boring. We and the rest of the world just have to accept that we are uncommon....so what...feels good! Thanks Eric take care, best regards from your biggest fan.
  • brigittapatel
Yes boring, but every prospect is different and it is a challenge to make them see........
    Thanks a million.
  • randyhendrickson
Yes, I am surprised on today's topic, but I have to agree anything we do over and over at time it does become boring. The exciting part of this, each person we contact is completely different from the last.
  • Good show!

  • Mark_Abrahams_UK
Many people will not read the commentary which follows because it may be perceived as boring (as well as long & tedious). And, indeed, the human brain cannot deal with more than 7 bits of new data at any one time – and people don’t think they have the spare time. My unguarded over-communication does tend to confuse many. Which is why being a NM pro is good for me – when working I keep it simple, as taught.

Anyway....I tell you what – as a qualified professional who spent 40 years in a job in architecture, construction and healthcare - I led and managed a great deal of process + process + process... and this is just as boring in the way Eric describes.
Reiteration equates to boring actions yet great, proven and repeated process equates to systemic success instead of systemic failure.
FACT 1: Intellectual & systemic failures have helped get the world economy into the mess it is in.
FACT 2: Being network marketing professional takes us on an intellectual journey which results in us changing, adjusting our internal subconscious programmes, results in us not only being different but in our continuous improvement and efficiency.
Those who don’t ‘GET IT’ may reckon that we are crazy (n.b. on Saturday last I witnessed this phenomenon in the form of a doubting son of a mother who had signed up as a NM pro – until it was explained to him and suddenly he GOT IT) ...... yet it is another fact that what most people find interesting is apparently crazy people.
So, whilst we may be perceived to be being repetitively boring it is like us being entertainers (like Eric) – with a new audience each time. That is why I love this business – we are allowed to develop as PERFORMERS – in more than one sense.
BTW – we should note that people who are apparently or really crazy (not necessarily unwell in the clinical context) are the ones who have the ideas which can change the world. I aim to be enterprisingly crazy and successful and am setting my sail accordingly.

The secret? Learning and repeating systems which simply work and which result in planned success.

And as you say Eric ....

    Thanks again Eric
    25/03/10
  • maxwellrand
That's great Mark!! You get it
  • Mark_Abrahams_UK
Hi maxwellrand - thanks for the comment - it is normally great to mix with others who 'get it'. And thanks for sparing me a little of your valuable time. I've tried to find you and ended up on the maxwellrand website. Please, where do you fit in with all that?
  • Erik
But if you are actively building, it`s mostly exiting :)
  • Cee_G
If you think about it, most of the jobs we do each day have repetitive and boring aspects to them, and we continue to do them day in and day out. So in a sense, you would expect that building your NM business would also have repetitive aspects. It just offers so much more that a regular j-o-b will not.
  • garyparmenter
Yes, sometimes I feel like a boken record and at times it becomes boring. But when someone gets it, it is excillerating. Kind of like fishing, you keep casting looking for that next bite.
  • hlj521
Thank you Eric! This was a great message. I really appreciate your willingness to share all of the in's and out's ups and downs with us so that we can continue to grow!
  • Steve_Nelson
I welcome the day that I beleive it to be boring, as that will obviously mean many, many successful exposures! Thanks for the wisdom!
  • Episode 60 of Eric Worre's 100 Episode Throw Down Challenge:

So what I hear you saying is that the discipline of doing the repetitive things in our business allows us to enjoy the exciting things. And to treat it like a job. Contact, invite, follow up, repeat.. aka the hair washing model. reminds me of the mantra: "do today what others won't so tomorrow you can do what others can not."
  • anthonyviglietta
I would imagine the more boring it becomes, the larger your checks will be. Boring means you are repeating the same thing over and over. The more you repeat and tell the story, the more success. I like this boring thing!
  • quintaser
As you were saying MLM is boring, I could see you in Amsterdam, Frankfurt and your house by the lake.... what a difficult life!!. Yes I understand the point, but rather than boring, maybe the word is: "simple". Thank God this is not Rocket science and we do not need an MBA or a PHD to be able to succeed. One of the main problems Henry Ford has with his production line was in fact that were dead boring jobs, repeating a simple job over and over again, that was why he had to pay twice the regular salaries to his people (he wasn't so sweet).
By the way two of my brothers has a PHD degree, and guess what?, they have no job security, are not earning the amount they need to live a decent life, I am sure that through MLM I will achieve more money and time freedom that the two combined.

From Puebla Mexico, I am Sergio Quintana, MLM Pro.

Go Sergio! I am sure you will too!

  • Thanks, I enjoyed this message Eric. This is probably the toughest element of our business because you can sometimes feel overwhelmed by the people who can't open their eyes to what we have. This is why it is vital to be around like minded people who DO see it!

Network Marketing Pro is a great place to be around like minded people.
  • Interesting insight Eric - I like your honesty
  • Everyday stuff is boring in whatever industry you are in. I love the highs you get when someone 'sees' what we do. (I do think many of us are guilty of trying to reinvent the wheel to make it less boring!)
  • tomlacey
Shocking message indeed. The magic is in how consisteny and well we do those repetitive things!
  • soxfan071
Pushing a button on a machine is boring. Going to the same old building day after day is boring. Breaking out is not boring. The fun part for me is not knowing when someone will see it and go for it. Any repetative action is boring. It's good for us to know that people of success such as yourself have found it boring. Thanks for your honesty.
