Follow Up & Follow Through – NMPRO #334

June 21st, 2010 Email This

Many people in MLM waste a great prospect by not properly following up (myself included).  Here are some tactics to avoid that problem. (and you can see a cameo from my son Chandler)

Great point and the kid loving the camera is just what I needed to make me laugh today! hahaha Thank you both!
  • Robert_Bo
Follow up & schedule it in a planner. Noted. Thank you.
  • jlt0wn
    Good point. Thank you.
  • germanjaramillo
It is very importan to schedule the next meeting with the prospects.
  • Follow Up is an important step. Face the fear and do it anyway. An amusing cameo to finish with.
  • juanfernandogutierrez
Thank you this really helps me, this is what I am worst in, I do all, except doing the follow up, I have lost so many prospects for not doing this correctly
  • When I started in MLM, and my group grew, I was so surprised how many people that did not have a calendar at all....they missed meetings, came late and forgot about important stuff.
One of our first points in our start up education is "Get a calendar"!
To be professional is to be able to plan your time!
  • Jonathan
A simple and to the point tip. haha great appearance by your son. Way to sneak up on Dad. :)
  • Njugijohn
yes eric. that is a great tip. i will try to use my calendar also for follow ups. thansk
  • Alfie
Fortune is in the follow up. So it is very important not to miss it. Strike while the iron is hot.
  • denisekay
Thanks for the reminder to remind ourselves.
  • CarlosVera
Keep your agenda updated and do what you are supposed to do and when you are supposed to do it. It's kind of funny to realize that we all know this is something we MUST do, but we sometime do not give it the importance it actually has.

    Thanks for the kind reminder!!
  • Inger
This sounds too familiar... I need a new phone with reminders :)
  • Follow up is one area I also need to get stronger on. Thanks for the thought that you have similar short comings.
  • karivankleef
Just need to get in the consistent system of using my calendar for everything.
  • Lisette
    I suppose this behavior,
    not follow up,
separte me from the ones who have huge success.
    Then why?
Why is it so hard to do the work?
  • I just need to follow through with the calendar system I have....a must do for me !
  • travelprohawaii
So it is true the fortune is in the follow up. So what do you do when you miss it?
  • Richard Shipp
I have been reading all the comments, and have this repetitive but more explanatory comment. I will use one of the comments below to demonstrate my point:

"That’s a lot to keep in a dairy or whatever – much of this stuff will be in our heads, in that amazing natural computer of ours which knows no limitation, no barriers and which is forever changing as we study, learn and do stuff."

Note: Once again, a personal information manager, such as Essential PIM, becomes a computerized extension of our brain. By developing the habit of simply entering the data, it then is stored, won't be forgotten, and is available at the click of a mouse!
  • Richard Shipp
Let me give everyone a Great Heads Up! As mentioned by one of the readers, a Personal Information Manager (PIM) can help you get a handle on ALL aspects of your home (or other) business, or other areas of your life (family, church, etc.).

I have found a SUPER and FREE PIM that I am recommending to everyone. Get it, use it, and take control!

    Go to: http://www.EssentialPIM.com

I use the free version, and it meets all my needs. It is simply super software (and I own my own software company).

    Best to All,

    Richard Shipp

  • Dancingwithjoy
I've done this more times than I care to count. It seems I get caught up with "things" and forget. Thanks for the advice of using the calendar. Have to get someone to show me how to get my phone to remind me.

    Follow-Up & Follow Through NMPro# 334
Get a callender& write appts down on it& make sure to keep the appt. Follow-up&follow through!
  • Eric,
couldn't have said it better myself. It sounded like even you had problems following up. I find myself not getting back to the prospect as soon as I should. I know it's hurting my business too. Dadgummit! Prospecting is easy all day long, it's just following up that stays mental for me. My mind comes up with tons of reasons why I shouldn't call. But I find that when I do, everything works out for the best anyway. JUST DO IT!!
    Thanks again.
  • #334 Follow up and follow through
Use management tools like a calendar or a personal information manager to remind yourself to follow up with prospects.
  • Bib issue for me - I have some great people I have talked to but I am "lousy" with the follow-up. Get Better that is it. Followup - Followup-Followup!1 - A must action to take for success.
  • great you are talking about it. it is all about organizing your thoughts and your actions. if we do not follow up, the work is not done. I feel that I can not relay on my memory, especially when I meet more and more people. the opposite of forgetting is writing down !

I love Barcelona, I know exactly where Eric is eating out with his team. My thought for today is, “Residual Income” “Time Freedom”, we need to be there with him. That really is the message for today.

    Kind regards

    Peter
  • Tove Nordling
Another challenge for me... getting organized, which makes follow up so much easier!
  • coltsco
As we all know, the fortune is in the follow up. For some odd reason we all have a problem with it.
  • carybennett
Such a true statement. glad to know even you struggle with it.. Thanks eric, must really focus on that..
  • margarethockaday
Follow up and follow through is something that we all must maintain. Thanks for the reminder.
  • gkamlm
No question, the secret is in the follow up. There used to be a rle, 80% of the sales are made after the 5th call and only 20% of salespeople every get there.
  • Follow up is crucial. One should follow up until one says yes or no. When they say maybe or do not say flat out NO; follow up, follow up, follow up.
  • Swissgirl5
Follow ups are the life blood of getting somebody eventually into the business, thank you!
  • Great video......I do have to be more disciplined in following up with people.
  • James Gilliam
Great idea !! one of the best reasons I got an iphone it has a nice calender and reminder system .
  • NANCY Eldred
I know when we use it - a calender makes a huge difference - sometimes all the difference.
  • Connietolton
Followup and follow thru - one of the most overlooked aspects of what we do. People remember if you don't call them or send them what you said you were going to do.

    Connie T
  • Sounds like an excellent book thanks for the tip.
  • Hi Eric,
Thanks for the tips . . . follow-up is key! In this business we talk to so many people each and every day that it is important to have a system that tracks our communication. In addition, in today's world so many people are bombarded with so many messages that it is important to "Clear the Clutter"! People appreciate when you take the extra step to follow-up and acknowledge them as individuals. As always it is crucial to capture the audience and communicate the message! Remembering that you are always in the perfect place! and from the looks of your video you are! Enjoy your time!

It is a great day in Boston,

    Julie Fraser
  • Great post. We always hear the phrase 'the fortune is in the follow up' and truer words have probably never been spoken.
  • Lotta
This we have to work harder on. Follow up is the key for your business.
  • Agneta Rebo
This is a topic that I really have to improve!!
  • 334:
so true, without follow up, no way to be successfull!
    tks and enjoy the cruise
  • Mailen
There is the biggest challange , to follow thhrough.
    Have to do better.
  • Cliff Lapenskie
Follow-up is one of the easiest places to fall down....and critical for your business. A system is absolutely essential but personal accountability is even bigger so that you adhere to the system!
  • Eric, Oh you are so right. What a costly error in business of any kind but in ours it can mean the loss of a truly great prospect.
  • Darnell Goins
Calendar is a good tool to have whether large or pocket-sized. Thanks so much!!! Looking 4ward to the next video!!!!!!
  • Lonib
I have started using a calendar for both business and personal - both in the same book. It has helped so much in keeping me on track. Now I just have to get better at follow-up. I am realizing more and more that you must keep in contact at introduction, during closure and after.
  • I agree Eric... However I put the date and time down in my calendar on my cell phone while I am still with the prospect. That way, the prospect knows I am seriously going to follow up with them...
  • dstfa96
I agree follow up is very important because most prospects will not join after the first exposure so following up is vital to success in our profession of network marketing.
  • Enrique
    Follow up with a calendar
  • tambry
Don't waste your exposures by not following up - great tip to remember when life gets in the way.
  • Excellent tip, because everyone has problems with follow-up, enjoy Barcelona

  • Shrmvr
Wow, this is so true. I cannot go without my calendar. I love your idea about setting it on your phone to. I think I need to do that. Thanks.
  • Key point here - do what you say you are going to do. Builds credibility and business at the same time.
  • Daniel Glez.Peña
Hola Beautiful Barcelona I was there for 3 months Wow, Ok Sometimes happened... Let´s do follow up.
    Saludos.
    Daniel y Natali, Querétaro, México.
  • Dylan Cooper
I recognise that I wasted some good people by not doing that. I thought they would call me back all excited. The truth is, people expect you to follow up!
  • Ria Leermakers
This is the part I'm going wrong the most. Will start to focus more on following up.
Have a nice trip in the Meditarian.
  • janetrajala
Setting up a follow up system has really helped me in this very important area. Great reminder nugget!
  • agelfederico
Follow up on everything in life is basic, but thanks for the reminder
  • Ernesto_Busnelli
There are some considerations with follow up.
Provided that we "get it done" also knowing when
to let go or keep at it. There is a fine line between
    persistence and pestering.
    Good show, thank you.
  • One of the biggest mindsets is that this is about the processs, not the single event.
When we can treat it as one step building to another step, follow thru is a natural occurence.

Reminders, tactics, systems, ticker notes, to-do's all can help.

What's the block, then? Especially for 'part time' NWM focus.

Must synch a better 'feel' so it doesn't pile up and I loose the moment.
  • Susan Johannesson
Not always the easiest task - to follow up. I do my best most of the days.
  • Chris Bernardo
Thanks for writing this post , i find the information that you have shared of great value to the people that i connect with and going to pass this on to my tribe. I look forward to reading more from you.

    Chris
  • theuns
Thanks Eric it works and i am doing it
  • fc34615
Short and sweet message..Thank you, Eric.
  • TAbrams
The fortune is in the follow-up/follow through. We can prospect a ton of people however if we do not follow through then our initial efforts are not worth it.

One thing I am and have been continually working on.
  • Tim Garcia
Eric! You MUST try "Tapioles 53" restaurant...at the top of Calle Tapioles in Poble sec. I will follow up with you, to see if you enjoyed it!
  • susanclark
#334 - Follow Up and Follow Through - I was taught that if you don't schedule it, it will not happen. It is so important to schedule that follow up while you are still talking with the prospect. Great advice.
  • A calender is a must-have.
If I hadn't followed up, wouldn't grow my business.
    It's the key to sucess

    Follow up or Fall Down......
  • pollyhulseman
Timely message as I am using a calendar this past week to get better at follow up. Trying to make it tighter as well so life doesn't get in the way.
  • hpena
The Fortune is in the follow up. Following through with what you said you were going to do adds to your credibility.

    Nando
  • Yes, when used a calendar does make a big difference. Much rather have it planned and written than to work from memory or note paper.
  • Graham Caddell
No doubt that "the fortune is in the follow-up"! Everyone should have some type of daily reminder to "follow-up". A calendar is one of the best tools you could ever buy. Don't forget to "follow-up" by making a note to get one. Great communication/tip!
  • MarvinTowler
A definite growing edge for me is the follow-up and follow through. I am on my way out the door to purchase a calendar right now!
  • I use day planer for that.
    Great message, thanks.
  • Rasdaniels
My downfall - Follow Up & Follow Through. Thanks for the suggestion.
  • The Fortune is in the Follow up and yet it's the thing we do the worst. AAAARgh....I wish I could find "a better way" to consistently do my follow up!
  • Luis Gringras
    Thanks for remind us!!
  • Chuck
Follow up, Follow up, Follow up! That's where the growth is. I can't tell you how many times I've heard, 'I saw this before but the person that showed it to me, didn't get back with me." Got to follow up. I heard somewhere that it takes 7 times for a something to sink with a prospect. I use this as a rule and make AT LEAST 7 contacts with the individual before I throw in the towel. Then I don't completely give up. I send those people greeting cards to keep my name in the forefront of their thoughts.
  • "Opportunities are never lost. The other person takes those you miss." Now apply this to following up. If -I- don't follow up, someone else will. So why pique their interest in the first place if I am going to give the person away to those who do follow up??????

    Here's to your success! dave
  • A great message. Keep organized and follow up with prospects.
  • Isn't that just the truth, we get so busy (we tell ourselves) or "distracted" (a previous video) that we don't follow up. Yet as one famous past President stated; "Trust but verify", and that is exactly what our prospect is asking or thinking about us. Did we follow up, yes (ok, tell me more or I am in) or did we not (gee I never heard back from the guy, maybe he dropped out himself)? Timely message Eric, enjoy your trip!
  • maariee
Thank you Eric and have a nice trip!
  • Claire
Thank you for your openess! Sometimes a target on approaches can lead to dropping the follow up ball. Great reminder to follow up, follow up, follow up. Have an awesome time in the Med... Barcelona is on my bucket list!
  • ockaren
Contacting one prospect a day leads to a lot of following up and following through! I need to be more disciplined with my time management.
  • Bryan_in_KC
It's been said many times by greater minds than mine...."the fortune is in the follow up".
  • Follow-up is key in any business, especially in MLM. Thanks for the reminder. I hope you have a fantastic trip.
  • timandtricia
The gold is in the follow up. The "If I... Wpuld you" formula helps set the appointment. Self discipline and a contact management system helps with step two. What we all need is a system that guarantees the prospect answers the phone or keeps the appointment:)
  • Episode 20 of 25:

One of the best things about what you're doing here is being utterly transparent. Thank you for showing us you're not always perfect and that we can expect to struggle at the same things that stone cold professionals like yourself do.. Enjoy the cruise. I look forward to joining you on next year's cruise/vacation
  • dianjohns
Crucial information - follow up. Putting it in your calendar and in your reminders is perfect. so you do what you say you're going to do, giving yourself credibility. As they say, the fortune is in the follow up!
  • Natalie Thackston
Barcelona is beautiful, isn't it? Don't forget the sunscreen! That's it from me today.
  • I like the follow-ups when they have read all up on the business and the product, and have a bunch of questions. Actually, I REALLY like the follow-ups when THEY CALL YOU and say "I signed up- now what?"
  • henryluah
Follow-up tenacity is a another muscle we must build. Honing our follow-up skills allow us the fine tune the "sorting" process so that we can maximize our time & effort on the serious candidates. Also allows us to work smarter with lesser stress because we are not "wasting" our prospects.
  • very important while building trust and credibility you follow up when you said you would. Great to GoPro right along side with you Eric by watching NWMPro. Thanks for doing all of this!
  • kgoren
Could not survive without my calendar reminding me. Following up is crucial. Without it where would we be? Same place we started.
  • Don't let it fizzle while it's still has sizzle!
  • Actually I can't say I've had too much issue with this, you HAVE to finish what you start!! But yet another great message. It's a bad sign to that prospect if you say you're going to do something and don't, big NO NO!!
  • I'm a believer in follow through. Follow up can quickly turn into chasing, chasing a prospect and chasing your tail.
  • yeah! This is good stuff and what I did as well. I put it all over the place so that I don't missed the follow-up.
  • Jean-Marc Boussefa
    Hi Eric,
It looks like you had a new prospect quite interested behind you....
  • billrogers
great advice. I use the calendar as well as email notification calendar. Taught from the early years of Networking. Fortune is in the follow up.
  • Most prospects need several exposures to our products and business before they will make a decision, so an effective follow up plan is important to help them see a bigger picture of how the products and business will benefit them.
  • I am poor about follow-up. When I do them it makes the difference in so many ways. A three way demonstrates others will be there to support people and the follow up tells the person I care and I am interested in them. There are many "systems" that suggest you can have people chasing you... only after you have followed up enough is that likely.
  • Seth_M_Miller
Finally got a smart phone. It's going to make follow-ups a lot easier. Time management is key.
  • hlj521
What a great message! Thank you Eric for your discipline to NMPRO. It is proof that there are no excuses to daily disciplines including following up when you say you are going to and to make sure that the simple things get done. Small steps. Huge results.
  • Great message Eric. Good to know we are in good company. It's was easy to follow up when I worked for a "corporation" and had to do paperwork but now...on my own, it's been a challenge. Just last night, my team and I set up our weekly "dmo" - daily method of operation. Each hour is accounted for and scheduled. It's been a life saver. Your daily lessons are part of it.
  • Timing is essential. I always tell my team that, “The fortune is in the follow up.” Enjoy your trip and give us what you can when you can. Thanks
  • LOL Eric, a calendar is a great tool. I have 7 separate folders, one for each day of the week that I use to help keep my contacts organized and make sure I call people back when I say I'm going too. I also write down the call in my day timer at the specific time. This was a huge lesson for me in the beginning, I was always forgetting to call people back at the right time. Finally I got tired of apologizing and got organized and created a plan!
  • Carrie I'm impressed! I HAVE to get as organised as you!
  • LOL Mark! It does take time to figure out what works for you. :) As I said, I was tired of apologizing so I had to figure something out! Best of luck in getting organized! :)
  • ritafulton
Eric, Have a fun and safe trip. I have found myself lagging in the followup these past few weeks as I am focused on the goal of 365 new psopects in 365. Now I just need to keep FWUP time slots on calendar.

    Thanks again!!
  • heatherbrocklehurst
Great message today. Following up is a huge area of weakness. It not only requires great discipline but a good system to keep track of who, what and when.
  • Futrarchitek
I agree, a calender has been very helpful to me, but have not put it to full use. I used to think it was restricting and now I know its LIBERATING. Timely as usual Eric, have a wonderful & safe trip.
  • Anne J
A calendar is such a simple tool, yet so basic. Just goes to show, it's simple but it's not necessarily easy. Thank you.
  • Jillian
Eric - have a safe trip! This is a difficult part to keep up with especially when you don't reach the person first time - it tends to get away with you. A calendar is essential.
  • turjcxg
Boy did you hit the nail on the head. But YES, wasting those prospects hurts so much especially when you've let too much time go by. I like the calendar/beep idea. Thank you Eric!
  • Gakungu
Treat your network marketing profession as a real business, not a hobby. I use Google calendar to set up reminders for follow up and it works great. Use Microsoft Excel to put down the names, contact information, scale of interest in the business of your prospects and notes to remind you where you left off with your contacts. Practice this until it becomes a habit. Perfect practice makes perfect.
  • CarlosLoureiro
Follow-up is the way to really make a person to see our opportunity.
    thanks eric
  • FrankMarshman
Yes, I guess we need to follow-up. Seems to be a common theme with all of us. It's easy to do an exposure but than the follow up seems to be where the water gets muddy.
  • Michael Capilli
Follow up is one of the most mis-understood, extremely important skills that everyone needs to learn.
  • nickgarrison
The money is in the follow up. By the way cute kid!!! Enjoy Barcelona
  • Katie N
Keeping a calendar as well as product info-great idea. Enjoy your trip!
  • carolbarrett
Great prospecting tip today. Thanks Eric.
  • Phillip
This has definitely been my greatest challenge, and part of it is I think I lack a good follow-up or follow through system, so I appreciate the reminder.
  • Cee_G
Hi Eric...Happy Father's Day to you! Love Chandler in the background!

Great reminder to do a follow up with our leads. I use the calendar idea already. Very helpful.
  • brigittapatel
Prospecting is exciting - follow ups are boring.
That is the time when we get out final no or yes.
Do we sometimes not want to face that and just keep on prospecting?
  • Dani Timea73
Wow, what a wonderful place you are. I wish I also could be there. To follow up new prospects are very important like you said because those people never caling us we must take the first step.
  • Yeah, follow up is important. For me the calendar works. But one thing I have to get more used to/do more is:
When someone does not pick up the phone (on a scheduled appointment) put a new time/date FOR MYSELF to follow that up !
  • Looks a cool place
  • Wouterdeprez
    Wish i was there!
  • MagnusEdvald
Barcelona is a cool city. It is a must to be good at follow up. I have learned that the hard way.
  • karenandian
Thank you Eric - What a beautiful setting!!! The follow up is where the relationship comes into play. If you said you were going to get back in touch and do it then that demonstrates you are true to your word!! That is a base of a relationship. It starts to build trust.
  • Donbeaupre
Follow up is important. I think you could get caught spending to much time in that area as well. If the prospect is not responding to your follow up you need to move on to new prospects.
  • Its really a leadership quality to do what you promised to do! If you fail here, you don´t gain trust!
  • Kari Merenheimo
Follow up is really hard work but very important if You want success
  • It is interesting that a common sense item as "follow up" is so easy have distracted by life getting in the way.
Discipline... and again "the Lotus code" Thoughts - Words - Actions...... >Habits<
    ~
  • Michael Gordon
Very sound, practical advice. That's an area I've not been happy about.

Great to see Chandler - seems like he's a great kid!
    Michael
  • One area I need to put more energy into. Thanks Eric.
  • talya_mitzafon
What I liked most in this video is the naughty smile of Chandler........:)
  • Very good lesson for those people (inclusive myself) who did a good job at prospecting and wondering why nobody calls back. Plan...Do....Review..! Have a great time Eric. Best regards from your biggest fan.
  • ronaldvandomburg
using my phone to follow up works great!
  • Erik
Yes you have to keep your promises
  • tomlacey
Keep your commitment to you prospects ad to yourself. The fortune is in the follow up.
  • Yitz613
    Eric,

You are on the mark. Breakdowns in follow-up are the beginning of breakdowns in our business... (I am guilty as the next guy in no always properly following up). You might want to devote an extended show or an interview to this all important "skill" inside of our business.
  • Karmo
One of the hardest thing for me, but calenders and reminders are very helpful.
    Thanks!
  • rebeccar
Absolutely, why even create a contact with someone and not check in with them????????????????
  • Fired up and Focused!
    Alex Tita
    Here as promised
  • Follow up IS important. calendar is good. Phone alerts is good. Keeping track of dozens of people in differnt stages of follow-up is great...yet can be just short of a hectic nightmare.

Still...What system is working for members of this community?
  • Mark_Abrahams_UK
Taking into account how many exposures on average we need to manage before a prospect may sign, the point about follow through and, initially, follow up, is crucial to our success. In pure marketing terms, since that is one of the services we provide, we may like to think about how, each time, we follow up. Since everything we do is about building relationships, our follow up may take different forms dependent upon who it is we are following up. Yet the most vital aspect of all this is that we do follow up, that we stay in contact or at least stay in view - networking and building friendships. Mostly, when I follow up, I keep in mind that 'this is about my prospect and not about me - about their wants and needs.

That’s a lot to keep in a dairy or whatever – much of this stuff will be in our heads, in that amazing natural computer of ours which knows no limitation, no barriers and which is forever changing as we study, learn and do stuff.

    Thanks again Eric
  • Marion
Follow up is very important - I am getting better - using a calendar, I can't live without it.
  • aliceflanders
Smaller face, but he is your kid. I could get a lot better with follow up. Especially proper methods of following up.
  • Following up was always me strong point. It didn't in all cases felt comfortable especially when I was targeting to certain groups of people but from day one I did follow up and it became to me like a natural thing to do.

But I see soo many people struggle with this step of the process and they are loosing so many people.

Some say "I send them the information and let those interested call me back". I never leave my business in someone else's hands but what would you say to that distributor?

Thanks again and have fun on your big trip.

    Theodore from Greece

PS: By the way if you come in Greece I would be happy to show you around
  • Kjell Englund
I have to put more energy in that too. Getting better.
  • In former companies, follow up was always the hardest part. Nobody really likes to follow up because it's kind of scary & most feel that you're being a pest. I fully admit that I used to do just about anything to get out of following up. Thank goodness my current company has follow up built right in that people appreciate hearing from me & most of the time they're calling me. Without the right tools it's too easy to get stuck in a rut. Thanks for bringing the topic up. It's an often overlooked discussion.
  • seija
    Getting better all the time!
  • Shawn
Your absolutely right. Follow up is the hardest. Thanks for the wisdom, and thoughts
  • Danny
You know what would be really cool? Eric and someone doing video roll playing from meeting someone that you've never met before..with say like a nice person to a rude person which we all know we wouldn't contact but I'm just trying to go from best case to worse case. how to do it vs how not to do it. Then the phone call after we meet them...to showing the business then follow-up then how to get them started etc. I just think it would be cool to go through the whole thing from start to finish showing people how to and not how to. I think parts of it could be really funny and something we can all watch and say...Oh Gosh I've done that before. Eric...if you need someone to be that Harry or that negative brother-in-law..I'd be happy to do it. Lord knows I've heard my share of stupid.

    Great idea!
  • I think that's a great idea for a show entertaining & informative! I'll look forward to that one.
  • Be reliable - keep your appointments, and your promises.

Eric, Thanks again for this awesome website and all the wisdom. When you say your contacting someone everyday..are you using FORM then getting their phone number and calling them back to do the invite or get them some 3rd party tool? Or are you doing FORM then doing the cold contact invite?

I tend to not follow up as well, maybe I'm leaving money on the table, but I like people to get back to me, don't like chasing people...
  • This might be a problem with your mindset. If you arrange with them during the first meeting WHEN you are going to follow up...are you then chasing them or just simply keeping your appointments?! And what if those people are also having an attitude: "I like David to get back to me, don't like chasing him"?

You hit the nail right on the head, follow up. This is my weak point you think you will remember and time goes by , this causes many missed opportunities that may be your success story. Thanks

This has been an issue for me as well in a different way. I am good at scheduling appointments to do the follow ups but sometimes the people I talk to aren't keeping their end of the commitment to get together to do the follow up and don't answer the phone. What do you suggest to do then?
  • yeah...this is a toughy....i really need to tighten my system on this.

Thanks Eric...have a GREAT cruise and tell Chandler he's a natural on camera! LOL
  • Putting your follow ups in a journal or something might seem for a lot of people like a piece of advice that is below the standard of advice normally given on NMPRO but remember; NWM is NOT about YOU but about your team and what comes natural for you might not come so natural for someone in your team. So I always tell my people that I don't want them to think that I think they are stupid but that I don't want to skip something I ASSUME they would do anyway. You might be suprised at how many of our assumptions are wrong.
And also make a note of what you have discussed and do it on paper instead of putting it in your phone as Eric can confirm that you can drop your phone (no problem) and have a taxi drive over it (big problem). Have a nice day! ;-)
